In the Wall Street Journal today, Karl “the Architect” Rove insisted, “History will favor Republicans in 2010.” Appearing on CSPAN’s Washington Journal today, conservative writer David Frum knocked Rove’s optimism, saying the Republican party is “badly disorganized”:
FRUM: Karl Rove has not had a great batting record recently. He predicted the Republicans would hold the House in 06, and was assuring Republicans they would win in 2008 so I’m afraid that this is a little over-optimistic about 2010.
Watch it:
Despite Rove’s reputation as a “political genius” and “mastermind,” he has consistently gotten it wrong when it comes to political predictions.
Rove & Kristol should have a 'wrong off' to see who can be more wronger more of the time.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:46 pmDoes this mean that "Bush's Brain" is an inflated myth?
snark
November 13th, 2008 at 2:47 pm.
So much "EATING THEIR OWN" going on here...
... DID the (R)epublican fish get that fat that every (R)epublican can dine on their own, now?
.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:50 pmNo, NO !! Keep listening to Rove, Rush, and Sean. the GOPee needs to move more wingnut right. the people are clamoring for it. well, the really stupid ones are. We can secure the GOP into the history books if they continue down the Rove/christian right path. Good luck.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:50 pmYou can only run by scaring people for so long before people wise up and realize that if we keep being scared, it means that the people we elected because we were scared aren't doing their job.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:52 pmRove and like so many of the GOP wingnuts are yesterday's news, best put out with the trash on Wednesday, because they are quickly becoming nobodies.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:57 pmThe world has Karl to thank for waking up Americans to the folly of the allowing an uninformed candidate to become President and to toss away the failed neo-con policies of greed and abusing our status in the world through the misuse of our military.
November 13th, 2008 at 2:57 pmKarl who??????
November 13th, 2008 at 2:58 pmUnfortunately, I've noticed a higher insistence of the wingnuts that only Fox News be on the TeeVee - they are more insistent that they can't live without it for a second.
Also Unfortunately, Rove may be right this time. For the 2010 elections, the incoming crowd only has about a year and maybe 18 months to make things right.
And lets face it, the current crop has done a thorough job of trashing everything.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:04 pmRove is no longer relevant. His tactics worked for Bush in 2000 and 2004. But then reality hit. Katrina, the continuing degeneration of the mismanagement of Iraq, the ramping up of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the increasing strength of Al-Queda in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and constant revelations about the Bush administrations trashing of the Constitution and their attack on American's civil liberties. The American people woke up and stopped choosing their representatives, and now their new President, based on their fears. Rove and others like Kristol, don't understand this new reality and will not/cannot adjust. They are stuck in neutral, and in some cases, reverse. For guys who thought they "created their own reality," their time is up. And reality has overcome their deception. But not their own delusion yet.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:05 pmFrum is a piece of crap in my book after his live-air harrassment of Rachel Maddow. The only way he will redeem himself is through an apology for his conduct. Otherwise I don't care for a wingnut looking to save face by pointing to the obvious. Frum wants a lifeboat after sinking the ship.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:09 pmKarl “the Architect” Rove insisted, “History will favor Republicans in 2010.”
He may be half right... when you're at the bottom, there's no place to go but up.
I'm guessing a significant percentage of Americans are impatient and fickle enough to start swinging back to the right in a couple of years.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:10 pmSorely for Karl, he will not be involved in the 2010 election cycle. My predictions are that he will either be cooling his heels in a federal prison or he will be Citizen Bush's Paraguayan man servant.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:11 pmKarl Rove has been wrong far more times than he has been right.
Anybody with even HALF a brain could see tha--- oh. Never mind.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:11 pmKarl “the Architect” Rove insisted, “History will favor Republicans in 2010.”
Republicans may very well lose more seats in 2010, at which time Karl will claim, "America is a center-right-45-45-90-triangle country."
November 13th, 2008 at 3:12 pm"Subjects are a less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler they consider God-fearing and pious!"
November 13th, 2008 at 3:12 pmAristotle
the shine is off the apple.....no one considers the gop to be truly pious anymore.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:17 pmKarl Rove is a talking chicken and the sky isn't really falling.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:18 pmNicknaming t-blossom 'the architect' is fitting in a way.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:27 pmNinety five percent of the Architects I have known are self absorbed and have a deity problem.
David Frum wrote speeches for the dumbest moron to ever darken the doors of the White House and also supported the quagmire and illegal occupation of Iraq. David should look int the mirror for he is in the same class as the turd blossom.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:33 pmI'll get you NEXT TIME Democrats, NEXT TIME.
*pets kitty*
November 13th, 2008 at 3:40 pmYeah, well, true modern-day repugs still call Lee Atwater brilliant and a genius, too. Keep on sliming and fooling the low-info crowd to win national elections and they'll end up with the same map year after year: deep south and the central. Not even close. Obama doubled McCains electoral votes. Thank goodness we didn't change the Electoral College after 2000, eh?
November 13th, 2008 at 3:42 pmWhat about the fact that Rove should be arrested for thumbing his nose at subpoenas? Could the rest of us get away with that? Of course not. He should be charged, and should never be interviewed again until he answers his subpoenas.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:47 pmkasinca: I agree!! Isn't he the one who came up with "axis of evil"? It's the proverbial pot calling the kettle black...it'll be a while before the gopee joins the rest of us in the 21st century!!
November 13th, 2008 at 3:48 pmCrafting wedge issues and prognosticating results are two totally different things. And now that wedge issues don't work any more, Rove is worse than useless in any capacity.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:51 pmWould you include our own Tracist_5 in that category?
Or would you give him a category all his own?
November 13th, 2008 at 3:55 pmralph the wonder llama Says:
Would you include our own Tracist_5 in that category?
Or would you give him a category all his own?
Can't say that I recognize the name.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:08 pmThe only thing Rove should be concerning himself with is whether his soap on a rope will hold.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:15 pmI just read this on Mudflats and thought I would post it here. It's hysterical and so true.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
David Frum revolves on his own axis of evil as he tries to reposition himself. That is the only reason he is dissing Rove. Go back to Toronto, David.
November 13th, 2008 at 4:47 pmFrum....did you know he is Canadian??? Did you know we in Canada adore his late mom who was an amazing newscaster for the CBC. Unfortunately Mr. Frum couldn't sell his political beliefs in Canada ( we're to smart for the dumb neo cons) so he made his way down to Washington DC.
Keep him....we Canadians are watching you Frum....don't you dare come back. Keep spewing your crap where it belongs...up the Repugs pie hole!!!
November 13th, 2008 at 5:05 pmHave you notice that we have gone to a perpetual election cycle? Obama hasn't even been sworn in and we're talking about the 2010 and 2012 elections.
November 13th, 2008 at 5:45 pmKarl lost many independents with his mean spirited, dirty politics. That he still doesn't understand.
November 13th, 2008 at 5:56 pmKarl Rove is a hack. His machinations are woefully obvious, hence they fail eventually.
