Last night on the O’Reilly Factor, Dennis Miller said President-elect Obama should “flatten these punks at AIG.” When O’Reilly suggested Obama should arrest Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), Miller laughed and said, “Barney might want to be arrested.” O’Reilly laughed and then acted disgusted by the idea of homosexuality. Watch it:
The right wing frequently attacks Frank for being gay. Just last week, right-wing radio host Lars Larson encouraged his listeners to vote for “Barney Fag.”
Not funny.

November 13th, 2008 at 1:16 pmI wonder if anything can be done for the mental health of these two as well as the people who listen to their bile? I guess not if they believe in Reagan policies like the one that dumped the residents of mental institutions in California onto the streets. I guess I actually pity Miller and O’Reilly. It is sad how low they have gone.
November 13th, 2008 at 1:16 pm“Dennis Miller said President-elect Obama should “flatten these punks at AIG.””
Hey Dennis, the idiot that you voted for is unfortunately still the POTUS, in case you forgot. President Elect Obama has little recourse until next January. You seem resigned to the fact that the incurious child that you helped put into office will do nothing about this. Shouldn’t his inaction bother you a bit more than trying to tell Obama what he should do and spending your time flinging homophobic remarks with Falafel Boy?

“Assassinate Obama”
_____________________________________________________________
I have an uncle who lives in Idaho Falls, which is just southwest of Madison County, the location of this incident. My uncle is a conservative Mormon Republican, who no doubt enthusiastically pulled the lever (or whatever they have in Idaho) for McCain.
However, he would be as horrified as anyone else at the very idea of assassinating Obama (or anyone else, for that matter), and I guarantee no child or grandchild of his would get away with chanting something like this.
As I read the article, I noticed that the parents, teachers, and other adults in this heavily Mormon community didn’t put up with it either, and action was taken. I trust these children are now aware of how inappropriate their chanting was.
Now the people of Madison County need to take a look at how these young children (most of whom don’t even know what “assassinate” means) learned such a thing to chant. I can’t imagine that parents would be overtly teaching their children that it’s OK to kill people with whom you disagree, but kids can pick up hatred from a great many different sources. And this recent campaign has generated a lot of them.

Funny but true. Most gays would love to go to prison. It is a cornucopia of people of their own gender.
____________________________________________________________
Wrong. This is one of the myths of homosexuality — that gays only want to have a lot of sex, with a lot of partners, and without the inconvenience of establishing any relationships. And this is such a burning desire that being imprisoned with a bunch of men would be the ultimate nirvana for them.
You might find some gay men who live only to acquire a lot of anonymous sex partners and spend a lot of their time and energy on this quest. You can also find straight men with the same objective. But would the straight man relish the thought of losing his freedom if it meant being imprisoned with a lot of women? Perhaps in a brief fantasy or a dream, but I doubt it would have much appeal in real life. Ditto for gay men.
The truth is that gay men (and women) are much like their straight counterparts. They date. They have relationships. Many find the person they want to commit to for life, and become monogamous. And they want their “couplehood” to be recognized and respected — gay or straight. What part of this is so hard for you to understand?
November 13th, 2008 at 2:08 pmMatthew 7:120
Oh Rapture, your Lord is calling and he’s pissed at you! Seems you’ve been strutting your vanity around again. Does making fun of gay people make you feel superior? I assure you, what Miller said doesn’t even come close to being criminal. Your insistence on calling something like this a hate crime diminishes those who are actually victims of hate crimes. I most certainly do see how it works.
