Since she and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) lost the election, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) has been going around blaming her problems on President Bush. Speaking to the Anchorage Daily News this past weekend, Palin said that the McCain-Palin ticket lost because of the Bush administration’s mistakes, including his “blunders” on national security:
Q. Why do you think your campaign lost?
A. I think the Republican ticket represented too much of the status quo, too much of what had gone on in these last eight years, that Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, wait a minute, how did we run up a 10 trillion dollar debt in a Republican administration? How have there been blunders with war strategy under a Republican administration? If we’re talking change, we want to get far away from what it was that the present administration represented.
But today in her speech to the Republican Governors Association, Palin wholeheartedly embraced the President, making clear that she had been looking forward to a third Bush term:
PALIN: In politics, people sometimes go to great lengths to avoid stating the obvious, but I think it’s about time that we all remembered that the greatest measure of a president is whether he protected and defended this great country. America’s 43rd president took that foremost responsibility, that most important charge, seriously. He poured his life into it. He succeeded in keeping America safe from another attack.
I’m thankful he is my soldier son’s commander in chief and for that, I say God bless George W. Bush, and I thank you, Mr. President.
Watch it:
Shameless pander.

November 13th, 2008 at 10:50 amPalin: ‘God Bless George W. Bush’»
- - I love grappling with trying to explain this woman and her thought processes. But most people are missing something obvious. She believes in the literal truth of the Bible. She believes it informs on matters of science, biology, evolution, physics, cosmology, etc. So if there are multiple creation versions in the Bible what do you do, make up your own reality. If there are contradictions in it, ignore them. Just like you ignore inconvenient facts about day-to-day life.
If you BELIEVE the bible is the literal inerrant word of God what do you do? Well then you ignore all contrary facts, like the earth revolving around the sun, like the age of the earth. You are seeing in Sarah Palin the fact that she has translated her biblical literalism into a way of attempting to deal with the real world and hence as you put it, her alternative universe. I think what is going on is that she has internalized the fundamentalist way of thinking to such a degree that she no longer has much of a grip on reality. She has taught herself to ignore reality in matters of faith and has transposed that way of thinking into her regular life.
And that's my ONLY serious post I'll make today, thankyouverymuch.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:50 amShe never did get around to releasing her medical records.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:51 amPalin "I’m thankful he is my sole son’s commander in chief..."

November 13th, 2008 at 10:51 amNO!
It's bad enough that the media are NOW interviewing this woman, I refuse to listen to her.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:51 amGuess now that the Senate is no longer an option for her, she needs to say whatever she need to increase her 15 minutes of fame to maybe 30 minutes..

November 13th, 2008 at 10:53 amWell, I, for one, completely agree with that sentiment.
Yes! God bless George W. Bush--right before he consigns him to eons of being boiled in oil by Satan.

November 13th, 2008 at 10:55 amGod bless everyone , no exceptions , especially :
November 13th, 2008 at 10:56 amthe families of 1 1/2 million dead ,
the millions of wounded especially the children ,
the victims of torture in our Guantanamo and abu graib ,
those tortured in our Black sites,
those we kidnapped and sent to other countries to be tortured (we may never know how many )
the 108 that have died in our custody ,30 some odd having already been labeled homicide according to Larry Wilkerson,
And the more than 4 million refuge ed by our illegal war !
He was president when 19 terrorists hijacked four airplanes and killed thousands by crashing into occupied buildings. He was president during the subsequent anthrax attacks. You do not get a mulligan as president. You do not get credit for using our troops as sacrificial lambs in Iraq to save the enemy the trouble of attacking us on the mainland. Actually, she said "soldier son's." She, by the way, didn't write this speech. Notice the entirely different syntax from her usual speaking style. By the way, Badmoodman, excellent interpretation of the way her mind works (or doesn't very well actually). Saw a couple of interviews with Repub. govs yesterday. They weren't big Palin fans, and were in fact, quite dismissive of the idea that she would be considered a leader in the Republican party.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:00 amFurther proof that this woman only parrots what others tell her to say. Problem is, she's being operated by more than one ventriloquist.

I'd venture to say that it was probably more like the Americans were kind of shaking their heads like going, these fukcing republicans have got to go.

Someone really should point out that there were 8 years between the first attack on the Twin Towers (1993) and the second (2001). It would appear that Clinton did a much better job of protecting the country than Bushies, who pretty much ignored both the warnings and factual information about OBL after they came into office.

I think she said "soldier son's" -- and Trig hasn't enlisted, so that's accurate.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:04 amThe GOP was okay with putting this nitwit a heartbeat away from the presidency. How stupid are these people? Well they are the same people who gave us Dubya the dunce.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:04 amFor a sports journalism major and one-time small town anchor, Governor Palin seems to regularly trip on her words. While the transcript reads 'soldier' son's and several of you insist that she said 'sole' son's, it is—in fact—neither that she uttered. Phonetically, she says 'sold' son's.
I won't venture some Freudian guess as to why she sputters so, but it does seem more reasonable that she intended to say 'soldier' son. Maybe it's similar to the jaw dropping, 'g' dropping manner in which she chooses to pronounce words ending in the -ing suffix.
Note that even in prepared remarks, she falls back on inconsistent, illogical arguments to make a point. What a fool. She must somehow think that no one is listening attentively…
November 13th, 2008 at 11:04 amBush saved us from more attacks!!!
PS: I just heard a guy on the radio say: "There's nothing in the worst of us that isn't in all of us..."

I would think she is developing a pretty painful case of whiplash about now.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:06 amAttacking and invading a country that didn't attack us or was not planning to attack us is somehow keeping us safe? Really? Explain that one. I'll wait....
November 13th, 2008 at 11:06 amAfter 9/11 I bought a new T.V. for my bedroom so I could watch the news while falling asleep. Since I bought that T.V., we have not yet been attacked. Where's my thanks for protecting America?
November 13th, 2008 at 11:08 am"He succeeded in keeping America safe from another attack."
Yeah, right, after he totally ignored the warning of the first attack and let it happen on purpose, yeah, keeping America safe my ass.
Why is this hillbilly skank getting so much air time, it seems the MSM is hell bound to have her run in 2012?
November 13th, 2008 at 11:08 amGod bless the Iraqi people whose greatest crime was being born in a land that has a large deposit of oil under it !
November 13th, 2008 at 11:09 amWent back and listened a third time to this speech and Palin didn't say sole son but she didn't say soldier either. The best I can make out is "sold" son" which is something I don't want to entertain. I leave it up to the speech writer and the great fluency Palin has been able to put forth.
November 13th, 2008 at 11:11 amFinally the truth out of her own mouth. A Mother would do anything to protect their child, but Sarah Palin would do anything to protect her image. Yes her sole son was said and now the Palin Family secret is out. GrandMa Sarah can now explain to the Republican Church base why she lied.

November 13th, 2008 at 11:14 amShe was with MCCain - of course she wanted Bush III. Reflexive property.
And of course, Bush was a millstone around their necks.
But wouldn't "protecting the country" also mean protecting it from financial ruin ?
Wouldn't it require looking ahead to see the dangers coming at the country rather than wasting its resources on boogey men ?
November 13th, 2008 at 11:17 amMy goodness, the woman is an attention hog! She was the vice-presidential running mate, and she loved it! Now she is addicted to attention. This convention gives her another platform. Is it just me or do the rest of you have a hard time understanding just what she is saying? It seems like a bunch of words all strung together making no sense at all.

"The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others"
"A woman has a right to an abortion."
"I am a conservative Republican," Barry Goldwater wrote in a 1994 Washington Post essay, "but I believe in democracy and the separation of church and state."
Goldwater’s warning to the American people.
"The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others," { he said,} "unless the decent people connected to them recognize that religion has no place in public policy. They must learn to make their views known without trying to make their views the only alternatives. . . We have succeeded for 205 years in keeping the affairs of state separate from the uncompromising idealism of religious groups and we mustn’t stop now" { he insisted}. "To retreat from that separation would violate the principles of conservatism and the values upon which the framers built this democratic republic."

Hard to figure out what your thinking stem's from when you head is so far up bush's butt it will have to be surgicly removed when he leave's office, or perhap's you are hopeing for a trip to Parague along with your heir leader...

Because it wasn't a 'successful war'. It was, and is, a bloody cluster-fark from Hell.
And you're STILL a liar, a hypocrite, and a fraud. Even though you only clean bathrooms, and poorly at that, you still make money off of death and destruction.
You are NOT a Christian. A Christianist, yes, but NOT a Christian.
November 13th, 2008 at 12:16 pmAnd how is this a "sacrifice", Daryll? Did you turn down higher-paying work of the same type in order to "help" the War Effort?
November 13th, 2008 at 12:16 pmDaryll, what did I warn you about basing your comedy on outrageous statements?
It's getting tiresome already.

Aahhh...I get it - RR is actually a comedian (just not a very good one)! He's just jerkin our gherkin! (IOW, he's just fukcing with us). Nobody can be this stupid......other than dear sweet Sarah.

It's actually quite easy Daryll, when the little red dashed line shows up under a word, it means it is misspelled.

November 13th, 2008 at 12:20 pmDarryl(RR); sounds like YOU need to be sacrificed.
BTW; Sarah also wants her panties back, too.
November 13th, 2008 at 12:23 pmIf there is a God, and he's the compassionate, loving God that these so called Christians worship, then he surely will request from Lucifer that a place in Hell be set aside for Bu$h and Cheney.
I'm not an expert, but I do believe the Bible says that leaders of men will be judged more harshly than others.
November 13th, 2008 at 12:23 pmRaptureReady Says: I know the God principles because, unlike you, I read the word of God.
See...this is where your logic fails. If in fact you DO read the Bible, you would know just how wrong your statements really are. And you would know that you are lying - which is a violation of the Ten Commandments. And you know what happens when you repeatedly violate God's laws -- you are going to hell.
Repent ye sinner!

Evangelicals asked to pray for rain at Barack Obama nomination
Stuart Shepard of Focus on the Family, one of America's leading evangelical groups, was shown in a video filmed at Denver's Invesco Field, where 75,000 are expected to cheer Mr Obama on Aug 28, asking Christians to pray for "torrential" rain.
"I'm talking 'umbrella-ain't-going-to-help-you rain," the former pastor and television meteorologist said.

If ANY civilians were killed during a search for Adolf Hitler during WWI, their deaths were tragically in vain.
During WWI, Hitler served in a Bavarian regiment as a lowly enlisted soldier. He wouldn't have been all that difficult to locate.

November 13th, 2008 at 12:43 pmDaryll has gone to find out why Jesus keeps ignoring the prayers of Republicans.
November 13th, 2008 at 12:47 pmI hate to jump into this, but in World War 1 Adolph Hitler was a corporal in the German Imperial Army. Any attempts to kill him were aimed at killing German soldiers, in general, not him specifically. And, regarding criticism of the President, here's a quote from a famous Republican regarding that:
November 13th, 2008 at 12:52 pm"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else.- (Theodore Roosevelt, 1911)
Impeach, while There's Still Time!!!
We can't impeach Bush. That would make Jesus sad, and he would cry, causing it to rain on President Obama's inauguration ceremony.
November 13th, 2008 at 12:55 pmThe thing that gets me about these Christian hypocrites is the fact that if Jesus was to return to earth, start ringing doorbells in a rich/white/republican neighborhood, you can bet your bottom dollar that in about a NY minute the residents would be calling the cops, complaining about some dirty middle-eastern looking hippy type guy is harassing people for handouts for the poor.

Bush is by FAR the most ignorant, lazy, and incompetent president in modern history. History will savage him for being so stupid and incompetent. November 13th, 2008 at 3:11 pmDumb Question: 3 months from now is Palin going to make a statement referring to Obama as her son's Commander in Chief ?
November 13th, 2008 at 3:12 pmPalin always tells her audience what she thinks they want to hear. Never mind that the message can shift 180 degrees from appearance to appearance. The best example of that was when she spoke to a splinter group of NOW in Las Vegas. There she said she would make equal pay for equal work a reality and not just a campaign talking point.
November 13th, 2008 at 3:17 pmWhy would some pundits be saying Sarah is the closest thing to leader of the party that the Republicans have... wouldn't that "honor," dubious as it might be, belong to John McCain?
Has the 2nd on the ticket ever been touted as the future of a party?
November 13th, 2008 at 3:58 pmGovernor Palin might do well to remember that one of McCain's undoing was the new Utube age where one's words are recorded and filed to be brought out at a time when a politician might contradict oneself. So, keep talking, Governor Palin, and we'll be ready for you in 2012.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to change out of my pajamas and wipe the cheeto stains off of my keyboard before I head upstairs to dinner. ;)
November 13th, 2008 at 4:13 pmWhen are you jokers going to take a real look at what really happened on September 11, 2001. No one at all should be thanking George Bush for anything except for the refusal to allow a real investigation into what happened and who really did that demolition.
