Obama’s resignation letter read on Senate floor.

Today, a Senate floor spokesperson read out loud Barack Obama’s resignation letter. The letter read: “To the President of the Senate: This letter is to inform you that I resign from the United States Senate effective November 16, 2008, in order to prepare for my duties as President of the United States.” Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) remarked, “Wow, that was quite a letter you just read”:

I must tell you, to be here for this historic moment, my heart is just racing. This is indeed a moment of passage in the United States Senate, and in the passage for the country. … I will cherish this moment because it will be a historic moment, from ‘We need change,” and ‘Yes, we can,” to a long campaign trail, to Election Night, to a charismatic speech calling us to act like an American community, not only a country of which we’re proud, a nation we hold dear, but an American community.

Well, I have to admit that I was pissed at the Lieberman thing, but in reality he is doing the right thing uniting and not dividing (aka Bush)…he absolutely was the man for the job…and a bigger man than I would have been.

You da man, Obama, make us all proud.

    Halloooooo…….

    Nice echo in here……

Well, my computer said there were no responses. Damn that hampster. If I get a 2-hampster hard drive will my computer process faster?

But with the economy, I don’t think I can afford twice the amount of hampster chow.

In my own defense, it DID take 24 minutes for the first post. What’s there to say to this one? “Go man, go!!!” seems to be a bit too enthusiastic for this simple matter of procedure.

I guess the mavericky thing to do would have been to become president AND hold on to his senate seat (oh, you just KNOW there were two candidates who would have wanted that to be a real option…. you betcha….). Good thing he’s not a maverick.

CB Brooklyn says – Whaaaaa-waaaaa, he not citizen, waaaaa.

That is of course complete BS.

  7. CB_Brooklyn says:

Buckie Boy – how do you know for sure? Why is the Supreme Court involved?

I read on a freeper site that they think there is something suspicious about the fact that Biden hasn’t quit the Senate yet. Perhaps Biden just wants to continue his duties as a Senator until it’s time to hand-over to new newly appointed Senator. He really doesn’t have much to do in the mean time.

  9. A Patriot Acting says:

Hey CB, why does a Google search using “supreme court, obama, elegibility only come up with hits from right wing conspiracy nutjob’s websites? From Forbes.com:

“Berg claims that Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery, and that the senator was in fact born in Kenya. He makes these claims despite the fact that there is already a birth certificate with Obama’s name on it that shows he was born in Hawaii. Still, Berg is unswayed. “That document is a forgery,” he says. “Our experts have determined it’s non-valid.”

Most other experts differ with Berg. Snopes.com debunked Berg’s claim, saying that it would make little sense for Obama to base his entire candidacy on a lie that is easily checked simply by examining state health records. Factcheck.org went even further, claiming that its researchers have seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate and have found nothing amiss.

Of course, even if the Supreme Court fails to return Berg’s calls, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has already weighed in on Berg v. Obama. It dismissed Berg’s case on October 24, despite his pleas that Obama’s nominee status will result in “irreparable harm to the Plaintiff and other ‘Democratic Americans.’” In its 34 page decision, the court called Berg’s case “frivolous and not worthy of discussion.”

So BS Brooklyn, I’ll ask again…do you have a CREDIBLE source? Didn’t think so.

SUPREME COURT RULING ON OBAMA’S ELIGIBIILITY FOR PRESIDENT

OMG, that’s what you get when you have a right leaning Supreme Court. These people have shown ZERO proof that Obama is not a citizen and yet the SCOTUS allows this suit to go forward? Oh well, Obama will be able to replace a couple of the right wing justices in the next 8 years. That should bring balance back to the court.

So? Obama has shown his original birth certificate to several sources. I’m sure he will have no problem showing it to the Supreme Court. Or they can get a look at it in the Hall of Records in Hawaii.

Tell me if I am wrong. Even if Obama was born in Kenya, he would still be a natural born citizen if his mother was a citizen (which she was). These right wingers just won’t quit, will they?

  11. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

Here’s the link to the SCOTUS site:

    http://www.supremecourtus.gov/docket/08-570.htm

This does not appear to say what they are reporting on the right winger website. This appears to say that Souter turned Berg down on November 3.

  12. CageyCretin says:

Ahhh, yes…. the good old “he’s not a citizen”. We all know what that is actually code speak for: “He’s a spoooooky BLACK man……”.

    I offer you two options:

    1) go hide in your basement for the next 4 years. You’ll be SAFE (and we all know you are scared, scared, scared)

    2) Go to another country. Somewhere where there isn’t a SPOOOOKY BLACK man in charge.

Here we go again, the right-wing conspiracy nuts. I wonder what is next: claiming Obama is a alien! These people will never go away. Relax guys, even if he is a Martian, he is still better than W.

    Classy. Very classy.

So when Bush leaves the White House, do they play “Taps” or “Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah…”?

  16. larkohio says:

    Still happy he was elected.

  17. CB_Brooklyn says:

First of all, I am waaaay more left than right. Second, fourwinds10.com is NOT right wing. It’s not left wing either. That website focuses on the reality that left and right mean NOTHING because both sides are controlled by the Global Elite. Wake up!!!

With the amount of people that still take this left versus right nonsense seriously, it makes me wonder if we still have a chance anymore to rid the Powers That Be of these criminals. Wake up!!!
