Fox News chief Roger Ailes signs up for five more years.
Rupert Murdoch’announced today that Fox News’s top executive, Roger Ailes, has signed a five year contract extension with News Corp. “Roger has done a remarkable job building FOX News into a force in journalism and built a great asset for News Corporation,” said Murdoch in a statement. Ailes said that he looks “forward to carrying out Mr. Murdoch’s legendary vision in the future.”

He still yells at his guests who disagree with him and has the “Culture Quiz”. In primetime, I always want my news shows to have a segment with multiple guess questions into movie trivia on such riveting choices as “The Wizard of Oz”.
It’s those “wild swings” in the Nielsen ratings right and not Steve Doocy holding up his A, B, C or D cards on the softball questions? If shows like “The Factor” get any dumber, a neurologist will have to check to see if anyone working on it registers as having any brainwave activity.

What Tin Tim doesn’t know is Faux News is mainstream, even though they try to dissuade that notion. If you try to be a news organization (even though sometimes it looks like a GOP infomercial), you can’t try to go all outsider and then bark and harp about ratings and guests. Even though Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity are clowns, they still get newsmakers on their shows.
If the ratings fall, it’s not because of wild anomalies in the ratings. It’s just that the shows on Faux News have lost their audience with the same shill views that have sunk the GOP.
