It is sad to see a historically venerable institution such as the Nobel Committee discredit itself over the last several years by embracing overtly leftist ideologies rather than staying neutral. This is the same Nobel committee that ignored the accomplishments of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. I was beginning to think that it was only outside the realm of the physical sciences and medicine (for just literature and peace) the Nobel no longer commanded the respect and admiration it did at one time. But the prize in medicine this year (for breakthroughs in AIDS research) went to three Europeans – two of them French – when the most world renowned researcher is an American, Michael Gottlieb.
The liberal media now laughs as Krugman joins the ranks of Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter and Al Gore (two anti-Semites, one snake oil salesman and now a political hack whose new career is criticizing all things conservative and Republican for the New York Times.) Nominating Krugman was a blatantly obvious ploy to influence the US elections. Brace yourself; next in line will be Michael Moore for literature, Osama Bin Laden for peace, Hugo Chavez for economics, Vladimir Putin for physics and Fidel Castro for an all new category – Great Boatlifts.
The Nobel Committee is a bunch of ultra liberal pseudo intellectuals who would be speaking Nazi German if America had not saved their worthless butts – twice! This is more proof that the selection committee is made up of shameless liberals. The unbelievably disgraceful comments made by the chairman when handing Jimmy Carter his prize, in addition to the mind boggling, orbital bloviating when Al Gore won, are proof positive these guys are borderline Marxists. Who can take them seriously now?

I get the impression that Krugman’s too nice to have enjoyed the meeting much. I also get the impression that Nobel K is wearing a rug, which is interesting in a man who is so good at telling the truth.
