In October, Virginia GOP Chairman Jeff Frederick compared Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden, telling an audience that they “both have friends that bombed the Pentagon.” Before a panel of Associated Press newspaper editors Tuesday, Frederick said his comment was stupid but he refused to apologize for it. He called it “a stupid joke” but also added that “what I said was true.”

December 2nd, 2008 at 1:08 pmOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH…..SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE NEEDS A COMPLETE I.R.S. AUDIT FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:09 pmIf Republicans are allergic to the truth Mr. Frederick must have quite a rash right now.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:15 pmSorry to disappoint you, but the IRS can audit only the last 3 years’ returns. Now, if they find an “anomaly” in those returns, the IRS can certainly keep digging!!1
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:16 pmFor Republicans, there is no shame in having no shame.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:19 pmThe Secret Service is going to have its hands full the next eight years dealing with nut jobs like this.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:21 pmWhiney babies. Obama is the President elect and GOP chair Frederick? Well, if he wants to chair a party that is in a complete meltdown, let him. It’s not like he’s ever going to be a significant force for anything.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:25 pmWell put, Perry.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:25 pmRepublicans have no shame in having no shame.

THAT’S WHAT I ASSUMED…SINCE WHEN DO REPUGLICANS WILLINGLY PAY THEIR TAXES?
AND THE OTHER THING REPUGLICANS FEAR THE MOST? BEING SPIED ON. NOW THAT IT’S LEGAL….SOMETHING TELLS ME THAT MR. FREDERICK MIGHT HAVE HIS PHONES TAPPED AND EMAILS READ.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:26 pmhe stood by his comment Tuesday, defending it as true and saying he was only taking his cues from Republican John McCain’s campaign after running mate Sarah Palin had said at her rallies that Obama had been “palling around with terrorists.”
“The McCain campaign, for quite a while, was getting on me about not being on message, about not delivering their talking points. And in an effort to do more of what they wanted … I was doing that, and they Ayers talking point came out,” Frederick said.
So you see? It’s not HIS fault! He was just being a loyal GOP’er. That’s what they do. Lie, falsely accuse and then refuse to ever admit you were wrong.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:27 pm“both (Obama and Bin Laden) have friends that bombed the Pentagon.”
There is a hint of truth in Frederick’s words…if you go under the assumption (a bit of a stretch) that both are “friends” of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:31 pmI seriously doubt Obama gives a rats six what Jeff Frederick said or about receiving an apology from him.
Having said that, I find it facinating that he can say it was a “stupid joke” and “what I said was true” all in the same breath. Doesn’t anyone in the GOP know the difference between a “joke” and “what is true”?
I know, silly me.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:40 pmLet the investigations begin. Frederick and the rest of America will learn who was really behind 9/11. Member GOP travelers, Daddy Bush and even Connie Rice were told not to fly on 9/11 why? A normal working day at the WTC yet Jews stayed home why? Bin Laden said he didn’t know about the attack but was proud why? Saudi’s quickly flew home without anyone being question even knowing that most of the attackers were Saudis why? All these and more will be answered. As we now know the Bush Administration is currently funding terrorist to keep conflict going. Did the Bush Administration fund the current terrorist group who bombed India. Even a Law Maker has been charged with funding terrorist group but the Govenment is hiding his case and the information. Congressman Jefferson was caught with money in the freezer to keep his mouth shut about the money given to the African terrorist group. Even Speaker Dennis Hastert quickly steppped in to protect Jefferson who didn’t know he was being used by the GOP. Americans will wake up to the honest truth the Bush Administration has been funding new groups of terrorist and using taxpayers money to do it. For 8 years the United States has been the greates Axis of Evil under the Bush Administration. Smart move on their part all they had to do was tell Americans God wanted Bush to be President and everyone just fell in line.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:40 pmFaiz,
When will you clean this Able Clusterfcuk and his internal spamming off this site?
We have repeatedly reported him and it seems nothing ever happens. Is he paying atp for this ‘privilige’ or what??
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:44 pmHe called it “a stupid joke” but also added that “what I said was true.”
The truth is, the Republican Party has become “a stupid joke”.
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:46 pmVirginia GOP Chairman Jeff Frederick…
– - …”is a stupid joke.”

________
Ok this one I’ve never heard. Do you have some reputable information you can link to?
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:51 pmGood grief.
Got moron?
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:53 pmCome on, TP…
December 2nd, 2008 at 1:53 pmYou actually expect a Republican to apologize for anything, much less admit they are ever wrong about anything?
It’s always a democrat’s fault, even if a republican did it, don’cha know?
Remember the old Flip Wilson character, Geraldine?
The devil made me do it.
It’s always a democrat’s fault.
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:01 pmVirginia Republicans are a truly vile, worthless lot. A far cry from the stature of Revolutionary War times Virginians, such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:11 pmDoes the GOP give out some kind of bonus for the stupidest comment of the day?
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:14 pmWhat’s true is that Frederick is a crypto-racist demagogue lacking ethics and morals. I wonder why the Virgina Republican Party would have such a person represent them–oh, wait!
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:29 pm“Republicanism means never having to say you’re sorry.”
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:39 pmMaybe Virgil Goode can console Mr. Frederick…I hear Virgil’s got some free time available.
Or, they could both go see Mr. Macaca, insult some people of color, drink a few cold ones & then go out to the rifle range & brag about the size of their ‘pieces’.
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:54 pmIt really doesn’t matter what Frederick thinks — we in Virginia have essentially made the GOP irrelevant, what with having a majority Dem congressional delegation, two Dem US senators, a Dem governor, and a majority Dem state senate…
Whether the Goopers like it or not, Virginia is now decidedly a blue Commonwealth…
December 2nd, 2008 at 3:14 pmFunny, this. If a Democrat had compared bush to hitler, the repubs would be screaming for his head. But then, I guess IOKIYAR.
December 2nd, 2008 at 4:00 pmJackass Says:
“A normal working day at the WTC yet Jews stayed home why?”
My best friend, a Jew, was incinerated while working for Cantor that morning, as were my next-door neighbor and hundreds of other Jewish people.
There simply aren’t enough obscenities in the English language to respond adequately to someone like you. Shame on your parents for perpetuating an obviously defective gene pool.
December 2nd, 2008 at 4:02 pmIt is amazing how the GOP still doesn’t get that what they say is IMMEDIATELY available for review via the internet. Their ignorance of how the media works in the 21st century was their undoing.
The great part is, they don’t seem to have any interest in learning from past mistakes, so enjoy the meltdown kids, we’ve earned it!

I dont get the anti-Semiticm on a Liberal website. You are of course right.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:01 pmJeff Frederick and Joseph Goebbels are both responsible for misleading campaign messages.
It’s true.
