The swastica is associated with the Nazis no matter what any one group wants it to mean. Just like Dec 25th and decorated trees are mostly associated with the birth of Christ no matter what you want it to mean. Of course most Christians know that the date of Jesus' birth isn't known and that having Christmas trees as part of the celebration is simply a tradition. Jeremiah was referring to those who worshiped idols. Christians only worship the Lord; the Christmas tree is just a decoration. I didn't make the association between a decorated tree, Dec 25th and Christmas, nor did I cause the decline of the association of a decorated tree and Dec 25th with false gods and/or idols. I HAVE a bible and Nowhere in it does God say someone ELSE should tell me what it means nor that there should be any intermediary between Him and Me. If I need guidance I can call on Him how would any preacher help me better than He could? The Christmas tree is a pagan idolotry symbol taken from the most ancient times, from a pagan ritual and has been adopted by Americans in the 1800's. I dont think it does any harm but there is no QUESTION it is spoken against directly in the bible and saying it is associated with Jesus in any sense of dogma is flat out wrong only associated in that Americans have come to forget Jeremiah and associated it with the POMP of Chrismas. Ignorance and arrogance is a poor combination. Your constant mixing of them is tiresome. Of course the Christmas tree is associated with the celebration of the birth of Christ. It doesn't represent Jesus, it represents the gift giving that people do in honor of the greatest gift. See how the tree as the center of the gift exchange is different from the tree representing Jesus? Of course you do. You might reconsider that idea of talking to a minister. He can help you see where your desire to make reality be what you want it to be has skewed your perceptions of God's word. Good luck with that! ;)

If it was anyone but you, bud, I would think that repeatedly changing from saying the tree represents Jesus to saying it represents Christmas was deliberate. I'm sure you are right, gene. It wasn't the worship of idols that bothered God, it was the fact that the people decorated a tree. Now you do know that Jesus isn't an idol, right bud?
