Those who followed the old ways were much more in touch with the energies of nature and wernt in such denial of thier natural human impulses…even if they did enjoy feeding the occasional religious nut to the lions. The whole pedarasty thing was a bit creepy of course, but judging from the number of catholic priests who cant seem to keep thier hands off young boys, that aspect of society doesnt seem to have been much improved by a change of religion. The funny thing is, what you characterize as “replacement” is, for most xtians, merely ignorance..do you REALLY think most christians understand that dec 25th or christmas trees actually have no correlation with the birth of jesus? The symbols of the pagan holidays have merely been replaced in the minds of small minded people desparate to beleive some sky daddy that impregnated a human with his divine weenie is going to look after their immortal soul after they die.
