Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) is retiring, “maybe to run for Colorado governor in two years, maybe to join a right-leaning think tank.” “I just didn’t feel that there was anything left I could do in the House,” he said. The AP notes that Tancredo seems worried that he’ll be remembered only for blasting illegal immigration. Citing his desire for increased domestic exploration for fossil fuels, Tancredo said, “There are a lot of issues beyond immigration that I want to deal with.”
Good-freaking-riddance to that bigoted MORON.
December 8th, 2008 at 10:37 amGood riddance and get gone.
December 8th, 2008 at 10:37 amLET ME GUESS…..WANTS TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH HIS FAMILY
December 8th, 2008 at 10:38 amBye.
December 8th, 2008 at 10:40 amTancredo: “America doesn’t want to play my way so I’m taking my ball and going home. So, there!”

So he doesn’t want to be known only for hating brown people, he wants to be remembered for being against the environment, too. Nice legacy, Dipshit.
PEACE
December 8th, 2008 at 10:43 amHey, ccokz at 1- welcome to the ancient past of Greek law enforcement (circa 120 b.c.e. perhaps).
Imperative edict to stone whomever are the current irritant of the Powers That Be. They’re rabble. Why ever would we try sitting down and listening to them…..
December 8th, 2008 at 10:46 amSocial Security is secure
December 8th, 2008 at 10:49 amAnd PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the door hit you in the ass on the way out the door.
Friggin bigot.
December 8th, 2008 at 10:50 amLeftside Annie Says: Good-freaking-riddance to that bigoted MORON.
I guess he’s smart enough to realize that he has completely ruined his political career. The country hasn’t been where he is since the “Nativist” movement of the nineteenth century and we are moving farther and farther away from him and the “Palin Republicans”.
Hey, Tancredo, “I know nothing.”
December 8th, 2008 at 10:51 amIf Tancredo was really concerned that he only be remembered for his stance on immigration, he could/should stick around and provide some leadership in some other area. Not that I actually want him to stick around, mind you!
December 8th, 2008 at 10:55 amright-leaning stink tank
Better, Dr. Matt?
December 8th, 2008 at 10:57 amWell Tommy what other issue SHOULD you be remembered for?? Afterall immigration was what you jumped up and down about 24/7. You reap what you so, moron. Now go away. I hear the island of Nauru is nice this time of year. I’ll buy you a one-way ticket. OK?
December 8th, 2008 at 10:58 amAmong Latin American heritage Americans born here, among Latin American’s naturalized citizens, among any ethic be it Asian, Latin or other that is illegally here and desperately hoping for a compassionate, fair immigration program; Tancredo is known as a racist, as one sided, uncaring and an extremist on the issue.
December 8th, 2008 at 10:59 amOne can only hope that the Obama Adminsitration will usher in an era of finding reasonable solution to the immigration problem and that the Tracredo era of bigotry is past. With the Palinistas in this country, I doubt that.
Everyone I know in Colo thinks it would be good if he signed out and didn’t return. Denver and the Boulder area are quit liberal but you get out in the hills and it’s a bit hairy. Something a lot of people don’t realize is that the KKK was might might strong in Colo and white supremacy is still prevalent
December 8th, 2008 at 11:04 amTancredo announces retirement…
– - Tancredo wants to spend more time working on his comb-over.
December 8th, 2008 at 11:05 amTancredo said, “There are a lot of issues beyond immigration that I want to deal with.”
“After all, there’s hatin’ on the gays, hatin’ on science, makin’ poor folks poorer, makin’ corporations richer… I feel I can accomplish all these goals more profitably from the private sector.”
December 8th, 2008 at 11:19 amTiny Tom will be remembered as a bigot and a racist, and for being a great pianist, with a one-note piano.

I was born and raised in Colorado (1947) and the racism was pretty subtle. I was never aware of either organized white supremacists or the KKK operating there. Tancredo is two years older than me, but grew up in a different area. Interestingly enough, the area of northern Colorado he grew up in has been dependent on migrant labor for many, many years. None of the farmers there would have ever been able to work their holdings without these immigrants. But as a kid, I remember the prejudice against these workers (my dad’s folks lived in that area of the state). I always thought it was really wierd…the very people who helped them make a living were discriminated against. At 61 years of age, I still can’t understand minds that seems to be so divided against themselves.

Let me guess: the dry-drunk’s think tank at SMU.
He’ll have to get used to seeing a lot of Mexicans, if he’s headed there.
December 8th, 2008 at 11:52 amWhile visiting Colorado this summer I heard nothing good about Tancrazy. If it’s left up to the voters he couldn’t get a job at McDonald’s. His best bet is to just find a job with wackos that think like he does. Now Tancrazy is like Hitler in a way. Hitler hated Jews because he was Jewish. Tancrazy hates immigrants because his family were immigrants.
December 8th, 2008 at 12:02 pmlock him up!!

It’s not illegal to be either bigoted or stupid. While he’s both of those, I don’t believe he’s broken any law anywhere to my knowledge.

December 8th, 2008 at 2:57 pmThere was a book written by a columnist for the Post can’t his name or the name of the book(not much help) but it described the power of the KKK in Colo. I lived in Evergreen for about 15 years 75-90 and the mix up there was awkward to say the least Some guys I knew out around Montrose where involved in The white supremacy thing how deeply I don’t really know
You can add Chickenhawk and Draftdodger to the lists that describe him!
December 8th, 2008 at 3:37 pmNow if we could just get Jon Caldara to STFU and disappear.
December 8th, 2008 at 6:09 pmIt’s true, you know.
He’s a loony on a wide range of issues, not just immigration.
December 8th, 2008 at 10:56 pmWell what else did he ever do?
Regrets being known for hating immigrants but no regrets for enabling the sociopath in the Oval Office for every single whim?
Tom, no regrets for enabling this broken economy?
