Last month, convicted felon Ted Stevens lost his U.S. Senate re-election bid to Democrat Mark Begich. The Anchorage Daily News reports that while Begich has tried to reach out, Stevens is ignoring him. Begich’s press secretary Julie Hasquet, said that Begich called Stevens “couple days after the race was final, left a message and there was never a call back.” Since the election, the two men have yet to speak or meet with one another.
More proof that the conservatives are petty and sickening freaks.
December 12th, 2008 at 9:53 amOH THOSE PHONE LINES….THEY’RE LIKE A BUNCH OF BIG TRUCKS…..SOMETIMES THEY GET ALL FULL.
December 12th, 2008 at 9:59 amToday I am more furious with Republicans than ever before – and I didn’t think that was possible.
December 12th, 2008 at 9:59 amStevens is a turd, and today I am feeling like every darn one of them are turds that need to be flushed away.
Our nation is suffering like we haven’t seen in 60 years, and they are still playing juvenile games.
Their me-first philosophy is taking us all down and to make it even worse, they just don’t give a sh!t.
Speaking of sore Republican losers has Marilyn Musgrave called Betsy Markey and conceded defeat yet?
December 12th, 2008 at 10:13 amOh, gosh, dough-nchah know, this is the perfect opportunity for that governor of theirs also, too, to weave her word-smitheriness, bringin’ together leaders, what with the economy, the bailouts, and all the really critical issues facin’ everyday ‘Mericans.
Looks like Alaska’s Republican conversation is either muddled, packed with lies, or non-existent.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:13 amHe didn’t even have time to say “no!”?
(Need a joke explanation? See third-to-last video here)
December 12th, 2008 at 10:16 amShort Stevens to Begich: “NO”
December 12th, 2008 at 10:16 amStevens is holding his breath like a rotten 2 year old.
Whatever…
December 12th, 2008 at 10:19 amIt’s probably because Stevens knows that the phone lines have a strong librul bias to them. I think O’Falafel may have told him that once while they were meeting on how to defeat the War on Christmas.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:19 amUncle Ted is certainly a sad little man. I hope he enjoys his cell at Leavenworth.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:22 amEh, I think there’s too much forced civility in politics anyways. Stevens shouldn’t have to call him and congratulate him if he doesn’t want to.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:36 amBegich has shown that he’s a man with class, a good sport, and a gracious winner. Ted Stevens has shown that he is none of those things.
Begich should chalk this up in the “no loss” column and move on. Which I’m sure he will.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:41 amAwwwwwwwwwwwwww…poor widdle persecuted Unkie Ted!!
NOT.
Drop dead, you corrupt barstid.
Correction: Drop dead, you RUDE corrupt barstid.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:57 amWhen a Republican shuts up, you should count your blessings.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:58 amStevens can wait and talk to his cell mate.
December 12th, 2008 at 10:59 amOld ted blames Mr. Begich for all his problems. Teddie has been corrupted for sooo long that he believes in his innocence.
December 12th, 2008 at 11:09 amWake up old fella.
Way to stay classy, ted.
December 12th, 2008 at 11:44 amTed Stevens will leave in a huff like the spoiled brat he is. I hope he enjoys his remodeled home and the spoils of his corruption for a little while before he goes to jail. I can dream.
December 12th, 2008 at 12:24 pmIt’s not a question of calling him to congratulate him. It’s a question of finding out what Ted Stevens has been working on in the Senate on behalf of the people of Alaska. What are the legislative priorities? What is in the works? Are there any initiatives which Begich can take over?
December 12th, 2008 at 12:25 pmMark Begich would get better results if he offered Stevens some money, or maybe a house remodeling….me I would just spit on him.
Don’t taint yourself, Begich by being in contact with the felon.
December 12th, 2008 at 1:16 pmStevens should go to jail very soon. Then we’ll see if he wants company.
December 12th, 2008 at 1:57 pmStevens won’t go to jail. Bush will either
December 12th, 2008 at 5:04 pmpardon him or commute his sentence.
Doesn’t the outgoing guy have to provide the incoming guy with some transitional information?
December 12th, 2008 at 5:12 pmOr does that only do for Democrats?
Fugg him!
December 12th, 2008 at 6:40 pmHe’s just an Azzhat!
Let him huff and puff in his jail cell – what better place to apply his talents!
It has to do with being Alaskan. Remember, we haven’t even responded to the fact that our dear Governor broke our ethics laws. We just let everything go up here. Hence we’re becoming another nightmare locale with one of the worst education systems in the country, one of the worst child abuse records in the country, one of the worst alcoholism rates in the country. Oh, we are a lovely, lovely place to live. Just think, Sarah and Ted are believed to be leaders here. How terribly sad that we find it so very difficult to do better.
