Connecticut Democrats backing off Lieberman censure resolution.

Last September, the Connecticut Democratic Party central committee agreed on a resolution censuring Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) for his vigorous support of John McCain and for speaking at the Republican National Convention. But after Lieberman escaped rebuke in the U.S. Senate, it appears now that the “anger is draining“:

liebermanweb.jpg“We’re in the process of updating the resolution to be more reflective of the current time and situation,” said Audrey Blondin of Litchfield, one of two committee members who proposed the censure. Words like “censure” are certain to disappear. So is any suggestion that Lieberman end his affiliation as a registered Democratic voter in Connecticut. Instead?

“An expression of disappointment, an expression of disapproval,” Blondin said. “And let it go at that.”

CT Dems should recall this I-Israel turncoat.

  2. Nevar says:

In these uncertain times, they sure don’t want the arms manufacturers in Hartford slowing down. Or Tel Aviv.

  3. DNFP says:

It’s stupid old white men like this that make me HATE stupid old white men even more than I already do.

  4. Marie says:

    Traitor Joe. POS.
Pox on those who are so willing to give him a pass.

However, since it looks like we may lose a Democratic Senate seat due to the debacle in Illinois, we can only hope that Turncoat Joe remembers to “dance with the one that brung him.”
    Don’t count on it though.

  5. unbelievable says:

Their refusal to censure Lieberman has allowed a nedd weed in teh Democratic Party to sprout – Evan Bayh and a group of ‘blue dog’ Democrats are forming a new faction inside the party to oppose liberal issues such as abortion and gun control. Reid is supportive.

    The civil war has begun…

Ooh, I know, they should put him in charge of something really important!

  8. celtic cynic says:

No doubt a ’sternly worded letter’ is forthcoming. Watch out, Joe Traitor, it’s addressed to you. Be very afraid.

  9. Uncle Ho says:

Despite expanding their command in the Senate, Dems still have NO balls to do the right thing.

Disgusting. I will vote GREEN from here on out.

  10. hanshiro says:

The original resolution didn’t meet the democrat’s renowned “Spineless Quotient;” they caught it in time and are rushing to repair the oversight.

  11. konchster says:

Hey they are democrats the party of turn the other cheek no one need be held accountable. Look at what we’ve allowed Bush and his minions to pull and not even a tongue lashing let alone a slap on the wrists. As someone on another thread said “Let Obama have an overdue library book and impeachment will soon follow” I don’t want to be come a vindictive t*rd but sometimes the country can benefit from establishing boundaries just like with your kids

Sadly, it’s not the parties, per se, that are the root of corruption – it’s the system, and unfortunately, no matter what political platform one is on, it still must function within the corrupt system.

    There are only three choices:

    1) apathy

    2) blissful ignorance

    3) revolt

There simply is no “working for good” within the system.

Incumbents act on the first two because the reality of the 3rd option is too painful for the majority of the pedants and would be the “end” for the patriarchy.

And now, back to pissin’ in the wind…

  13. Bushie says:

Stop pussy footing around (accent on pussy) and give Jumping Joe an acclamation on his wonderful record and strong ethics.

Elected Democrats believe in a big tent, all you have to do to belong is bring in the money and be pragmatic at any cost.

  14. fletc3her says:

Give him the medal of freedom and be done with it.

  15. lapdogs says:

Gee, the CT Dem Party never asked ME if I wanted to “make nice” with LIEberman anytime soon.

They had better take another poll about regarding the “Draining Anger”.

  16. CageyCretin says:

Sen. Lieberman, we are writing to inform you that we, the democratic party, are sorry for having failed to offer a candidate as good as or better than the republican party had presented, and thus forced you to have to give all of your support to the republican candidates. It is unfortunate that we won the election and now you will have a president that you do not feel comfortable with. It is further saddening to our hearts that you will not agree with the policies of our poor choice of president, but we hope that this does not diminish the relationship that we have with you. Please consider continuing to come to our meetings and please continue in all of your appointed duties in all of the positions you like to be in. We offer our most sincere and humblest apologies for anything that we, the democrats, have done to upset you at any time and hope that you can forgive us for seeming to sound like we might have been considering the possible option of something harsh happening to you for appearing to have been a hypocritical, lying, piece of Sh!t mole, claiming to be a friend of the democrats while palling around with and supporting the republicans. We cannot apologize enough and hope that we can still be friends,
    Yours, most affectionately, the Democrats.

MY anger at that traitorous bastard hasn’t drained at all.

    Fcuk you, Traitor Joe.

  18. ShorelineCT says:

The Old Boys club that is the US Senate and especially the DEM caucus is spinless towards other members – witness the ovation convicted felon Sen. Stevens got on his exit.

The DEM party in CT should be ashamed to cave to slimeball Joe, especially with poll numbers like these:

When asked to rate the jobs they are doing as senator, Lieberman and Dodd each drew higher negatives than
positives, with Lieberman faring the worst, said Chris Barnes, the poll’s director.

Fifty-four percent of residents rated Lieberman negatively, saying he is doing a fair (26 percent) or poor
(28 percent) job. Thirty-seven percent viewed him positively, giving an excellent (10 percent) or good (27 percent) rating.

The poll found that Lieberman, a registered Democrat who relied on Republicans and unaffiliated voters for
his re-election in 2006, has lost much of his independent base.

Sixty-one percent of Republicans viewed him favorably, compared with 23 percent of Democrats and 37 percent of independents.

He was viewed unfavorably by 30 percent of Republicans, 69 percent of Democrats and 53 percent of independents.

“He’s really polling as a weak Republican, rather than a wounded Democrat,” said Barnes, a former pollster
at the University of Connecticut. SNIP…..

Too bad that Connecticul Dems don’t have a set among them.

  20. jiminportlandoregon says:

Yet again, the Democrats, be they from Connecticut or elsewhere, show us they have NO F**KING BALLS. I am getting so sick of this nonsense. If they don’t snap to by the end of the upcoming Congress, I may just start to vote GREEN in the future. The agenda items are ours to declare, and somehow, I think we are setting ourselves up to lose on that score as well. What a bunch of jellyfish.

  21. hauksdottir says:

Looking at the photo, I have to wonder if the AIPAC thugs give him a percentage of profits from the ecstasy shipments, or the drug itself.

  22. maeme says:

Never will you find a Republican pull what Joe did by endorsing and working with McCain. Pretty soon the
activists will get fed up – especially when he starts
wanting deals for his votes. Obama will regret his
    decision to forgive and forget.

Joe needs to go – he is a multi millionaire as are most of the members in the Senate. It’s not like he will be
    missed. I wouldn’t call him a patriot.
