In a new CNN-Opinion Research Corp. poll, 23 percent of respondents said that Vice President Cheney is the worst VP in history. Another 41 percent said that Cheney is a poor vice president. Only 1 percent think he is the best VP in U.S. history. According to CNN Polling Director Keating Holland, Cheney is considered a good VP by most Republicans, but “six in ten independents and eight in tem Democrats gave Cheney a rating of ‘poor’ or ‘worst ever.’”
ONLY 23%????
That’s shocking ….
And in other news, 76% of Americans are clueless as to what the government is doing in their name. Same as it ever was.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:00 pmEdit:
“23 percent of Americans think Cheney is the worst-shot VP in history.”
They of course, remember Aaron Burr…
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:06 pmOnly 23%??? What the Fu#@? Not only is he the worst VP ever, he may damn well be the worst American elected official ever.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:06 pmCheney Worst VP ever; Bush MRI on shoulder; terrorists convicted; Bush can still destroy world with “football. It’s the News at a Furtive Glance, starring George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, heavily illustrated with pictures of Bush’s greatest moments.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:10 pmSo?
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:11 pmJust the image of his ugly, sinister, sneering face makes him the worst VP Ever.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:12 pmTypo alert: “…eight in tem Democrats…”
Should be “eight in ten Democrats”
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:30 pmWhat an absurd survey. Worst VP compared to whom? Of course Cheney is a war criminal and should be in the dock at the Hague along with Bush, Arrington, Yoo, Rumsfeld and all the neocons.
But no one alive today has lived through more than a few VP’s so how could they judge?
This is more MSM nonsense.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:37 pmYup, huh! He has been a piss poor president and pupett master also..Blessings
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:37 pm23 percent of Americans think Cheney is the worst VP in history.»
– - Worst. Vice. Ever…..Spiro Agnew.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:40 pmCheney makes Burr and Agnew look like patriots of the first order.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:42 pmHow many other veeps can most people name?
Of course, he was never really Vice President.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:49 pmWhat?….Nobody polled me or anyone I associate with. Not much of a poll if all your results were from Rethuglicans.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:51 pmHow many think he is the worst human being ever?
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:59 pmWTF is wrong with 77% of Americans!? Well, actually 46% put him in negative terriroty.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:00 pmI accept that most Americans are not news junkies (as I am sometimes guilty of, preferring internet reading to mindless TV sitcoms at night) but do these people live in America? Did any of them watch that asshat on MTP yesterday? Did any of them read or hear of the things he has said and done and asserted over the years?
They may be deserving of the kind of America that Bush/Cheney have brought us, but I am not, and neither are you!
I am not convinced he is human.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:01 pmHow many think he is the worst gob of protein ever to amass on the planet?
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:05 pm23% thought he was the worst vice president ever?
That means that 77% of the country doesn’t know Dick.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:08 pmJust in – only 5% of Americans can name more than two Vice Presidents without prompting.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:22 pm#19 – good one.
“Worst” is a weird term to use. Cheney is evil to the core, but not ineffectual. Spiro Agnew completely had to resign in disgrace. Dan Quayle was famous for being a “special needs” veep. Then there are all those 19th-Century veeps who got put in place for weird reasons like being the losers of general elections, and who were basically “exiled to Alba” for their entire terms.
There are so many different flavors of “worst” that it’s hard to compare between them.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:27 pmThe 1% who think he is the best VP are all his cronies who have benefited from the corrupt policies of the Bush reign. Its the Halliburtons, KBR’s, oil companies, HMO’s, drug companies and finally the rich CEO’s who are eating caviar and drinking champagne with the 700B bailout that is being paid by the taxpayers.
May he rot in hell, Cheney brought new meaning to the word
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:29 pm‘VICE” president.
And 123% think he is the worst person ever!
Would it be wrong to wish him a flesh eating virus?
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:31 pmConsidering that most folks don’t have any idea what the VP does (see Palin, Sarah) and even those that do usually don’t have any idea on how they are doing on a day to day basis – this screams for attention.
Most VPs, no matter how bad, stay in anonymity. To get these poll numbers, Cheney must have worked hard to do negative things.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:41 pmAmerican History will show VP’s before the Bush Mafia and after. Cheney never finished college he got his education from the Nixon Administration. One only needs to read the Constitution to understand it. Cheney knew most Americans and Law Makers never read the US Constitution so it was easy to tell them anything. When those who did know spoke up the Media cut them down. Using God’s Name was how all this worked and it went very well. Now even Bush says he doesn’t believe God inspired the Bible it was man. But for 8 years he had the public going as he lied over and over again. The mission has been completed as the US Taxpayers have been robbed of about 11 Trillion dollars. Now the GOP will regroup and let Obama/Biden bring back a US surplus in about 8 years then let another Democrat add to that. Yes the GOP will be ready to come back and openly steal in about 12 years. Let’s hope US education improves and Americans don’t fall for the same mistake again. Cheney’s problem is the American people but the Foreign Countries. He might experience waterboarding and rap music when he’s in their hands.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:50 pmSo now we’re actually measuring a treasonous war criminal against other people who have held the same office in terms of has he been ‘one of the worst’.
December 22nd, 2008 at 8:45 pmIs this on a scale of one to ten or is it some sort of a bizarre multiple choice ?
I can’t help but think that if it was any other country, a few million people would have taken to the streets calling for his fat head on a stick.
Are you sure that statistic is not 123 percent?!!
December 22nd, 2008 at 9:48 pmWhat an arbitrary poll. How many of us can evaluate historic VP’S? A realistic poll would say: – rate Cheney as a VP on a scale of 1 to 100.
December 22nd, 2008 at 10:22 pmIf cheney is aaron burr, I guess henry paulson is alexander hamilton. Hmmmm
December 23rd, 2008 at 1:26 amJust 23%????????
December 23rd, 2008 at 2:04 am98% think he is the WORST president ever!
December 23rd, 2008 at 7:07 amA new poll shows that 100% of progressives look forward to one day pissing on Dick Cheney’s grave.
December 23rd, 2008 at 8:37 amThe problem with this poll is that it is technically incorrect from the start. How can Cheney be the worst VP ever when he was not the VP in the first place. Cheney was picked by the ultra right wing oil industry in this country to be the president and so as Doc Rock correctly indicated above, Cheney is the worst president ever.
December 23rd, 2008 at 1:08 pmYou can word a poll to get any answer you wont. Put the Criminals Bush and Cheney in jail, where they belong, and then ask the RepubliCons what they think.
December 24th, 2008 at 7:01 pmJust like the cold war when everyone who didn’t agree with the U.S. was either a communist or a communist sympathizer. toki This poor crazy guy spent half a decade being tortured because a bunch
of stupid politicians araç sorgulama were sure the NVA
was in bed with the Russians (minimal help) and/or the Chinese (ancient enemy of the vietnamese). ssk sorgulama You would think he would have learned from others’
mistakes. Guess not. Republicans need an enemy. key ödemeleri This
century it apparently will be all Muslims, kredi all of whom must
