Scenes of U.S. soldiers celebrating Christmas abroad.

In Iraq, U.S. soldiers in Sadr City decorate a tree while another plays plays a harmonica:

In Afghanistan, Spanish and U.S. soldiers hold candles during Christmas Eve celebrations while others attend church services:

President Bush called nine members of the armed forces on Christmas Eve to thank them for their service. President-elect Obama used a holiday radio address to urge the nation to remember the troops. “Many troops are serving their second, third or even fourth tour of duty,” Obama said. “This holiday season, their families celebrate with a joy that is muted knowing that a loved one is absent and sometimes in danger.”

Update Yesterday, Fort Campbell welcomed back over 200 soldiers just in time for Christmas. "The soldiers from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade were originally scheduled for a 15-month tour to that country, but their deployment was reduced to 12."

TP, what does Karl Rove say about this?

I don’t think that will ever get old.

It will be a truly Merry Christmas when the Entire BushCO Past & Present are convicted of War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity and Treason.

And ALL soldiers are brought home from Iraq and Afghanistan because we are fighting a phony war on terror brought about by the Biggest Lie of all: 9/11. (false flag)

  4. dumbstruck says:

I hope the obstructionist Republicans will not prevent the majority of our fighting men and women from enjoying their next Christmas at home.

    Merry Christmas to all.

The troops know Bush/Cheney lied and put them in this invasion not for peace or Saddam but for Oil and Land for Israel to bomb Iran. Yes our troops were used and lied to by the White House and their Generals. As one soldier said hell is to good for Bush/Cheney/Generals. It was so strange to hear our troops cheer when Obama/Biden won while the Generals were mad as hell. I explained by email it was because the Generals were paid big bucks to lie for the White House and really didn’t care about the troops. I sent the transcipt of how General Petraeus openly lied to Congress and then how Rummy and the Generals all testified they didn’t know how Pat Tillman and others died because it wasn’t their job to find out.

The current Bush generals know their days of lying will come to an end on Jan. 20th as Obama knows like most intelligent people this conflict can’t be won with War and soldiers. Obama/Biden will look for peace with listening and working together to resolve the problems. At lease we have a qualified Secretary of State and not Connie Rich who just entertained Leaders by playing the piano and deliving messages from Cheney. Gates might not stay around to long as he will be charged with prejury and have to step down. General Petraeus should be sent to jail for his actions. Right now the US Supreme Court is hearing crime charges aganinst Ashcrof and the FBI Director.
