America can’t wait for Bush to leave.

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll finds that 75 percent of Americans are glad President Bush is leaving office; just 23 percent indicated that they will miss him. CNN notes that when Clinton left office, more Americans — 45 percent — said they would miss him. Twenty-eight percent also believe that Bush is the worst president ever.

The Chimp has been a f ucking disaster — worse than I ever dreamed he’d be the first time I heard of him. He hasn’t been merely incompetent, he’s been deliberately destructive to the nation and Constitution he swore to protect.

    WORST.
    PRESIDENT.
    EVER.

  2. sacopenapa says:

I just want to see this immoral WAR CRIMINAL charged!

  3. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

I don’t only want to see him leave, I want to see him in prison. If there is a god, it will happen.

  4. Paolo says:

He has no comparison: ignorant, uninterested, untested, arrogant, uncaring, indifferent, incapable of learning from his mistakes. He doesn’t even realize how bad he is. Karl Rove is his only defender. I rest my case!

  5. pax says:

I can’t believe that only 28% think he is the worst president ever! I would of thought that number would be higher!

THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER = TWPE

Bilbo, if there was a god, Bush would never have been allowed in a position of power.

  7. had enough says:

We can not begin the healing process until justice prevails .. all guilty neocons put away even if it means building new prisons to find room. Until this is done, We the People are just as guilty in the eyes of the world.

  8. spencers mom says:

Once he’s out of office and under less protection, I’d love the opportunity to walk up to the ex-prez and kick him in the balls… hard. And say “What you’re feeling can’t begin to compare to the pain you’ve inflicted on the world.”

But this assumes the man has balls and can feel pain.

    PEACE

  9. Fred says:

Twenty-eight percent also believe that Bush is the worst president ever.

This number will inevitably go up. When the truth starts becoming more public and the economy struggles because of bush, people will look back on this as a dark and regressive era led by bush.

Read John Dean’s “Conservatives Without Conscience” and you will have your answer. Psychologists say that approximately 25% of the people in this country are sadly lacking in self esteem and those people are always looking for an authority figure who can tell them what to think and how to feel. Those are the people who still think that Bush did a good job.

Wow spencers mom, why don’t you tell us how you really feel! But I have to admit that I agree with you. I am about as non-violent a person as you will ever find and I have to admit that I would love to do violence to Bush and Cheney for what they have done to this once proud country. Also, it is because of them that the word “hate” has entered my vocabulary. I don’t like it and I hope that it goes away soon.

Man, getting rid of Bush will be like the country and world getting rid of a collective bad sh:t.

    I totally agree, Zooey.
    W-P-E
All the misgivings and doubts, concerns and worries I had about him in 2000 were delivered a hundred times over during the last 8 years. He was much, much worse than I feared at the time.

  16. helenahandbasket says:

Obama has his work cut out for him, cleaning up after the bushco elephants.

  17. Marie says:

Oh, he has balls, spencers’ mom. Just recall the disgusting photo of him on the aircraft carrier where he didn’t unfasten his crotch belt, so he could puff himself up a bit for all to see.
Yeah, I’d like to kick him there also, while wearing steel toed work boots. That would be while he is wearing an orange jumpsuit awaiting trial on charges of treason.

  18. Patty says:

…and his enablers continue to soothe his mood by saying, “Don’t worry that you’re not being judged as ‘popular’; history will record that you’ve made the ‘difficult choices.’”

Wish they’d get it through their collective heads that “popular” is for middle schoolers and high schoolers. Adult Americans are looking for ability, thoughtfulness and wisdom. George W. Bush failed in all aspects.

  19. Amos Anan says:

Another web site had this image (with the foreground figure in a slightly different pose) and requested cut lines or punch lines. Looking now again at the painting I see the attempt to restore the “compassionate conservative,” the “guy you’d want to have a beer with” common “heartland” American. At this point everyone knows there just isn’t the slightest bit of truth to any of that PR, yet the PR goes on. I can’t help but see the malevolence of the man which the painting tries to hide. This is the guy that partied (with McCain) while people were drowning in New Orleans – and just as before 9-11, he was warned of the extreme dangers to Americans. This is the guy that mocked someone on death row with “please don’t kill me” even though that plaintive plea was never uttered.

Still, the shirt .. correction .. the western shirt dominates the painting. The phrase “all hat, no cattle” comes to mind and that leads to another common phrase, “empty suit.” The man was a nice shirt, a cod piece, a backdrop blaring some political mantra that Karl Rove and the other extremist Republicans wanted pushed at any particular moment. And they’ve pushed us “off a cliff.”

The painting needs a bit of correcting. The flowers in the vase in the background should be coming out of the nice shirt and Bush’s head should be coming out of the vase. That would be a more accurate portrait. But it would still be missing the malevolence of the man and his “God.”

Maybe there’s a “Dorian Gray” portrait hidden away somewhere.

There has been a lot of news lately about the end of traditional media and especially the traditional press. Looking closely many of the media company failures have little to do with the “traditional” business model of a newspaper and relate far more to poor financial maneuvering. Bad business more than bad reporting. But bad reporting was also very much a factor.

With the commentary about the dying of traditional media there’s a corresponding discussion about the increasing power of “blogging.” I think the two are related. One has given us portraits of the world we inhabit that are comparable to the painting of Bush. The other has give us reality, or at least a much more accurate rendition (ha ha) of it. Bush renditioned reality – renditioned truth. Karl Rove even boasted of the ability to do just that. And the people, or the “consumers” in Republican speak, have come to realize that the product provided by traditional media is tainted and a better one can be obtained elsewhere – in some blogs. Those blogs achieve their popularity by providing reality and insights into that reality. That’s something few traditional media vendors do anymore.

I can’t wait to see him tried for war crimes in the Hague, let alone out of office. Why couldn’t he have just been content with f*ucking up Texas?

    Texas was already f@cked up?

  21. Green-Party says:

I am waiting for that cold day in January, when we have a new leader, with all the integrity this moron promised but did not posses.

Bush’s life has been a long road littered with failure after failure. To bad we now suffer for his leadership.

On election day 2004, I ran into a lady outside the supermarket who asked me “Who was in the lead?” I told her I think Bush was winning and she replied to me “Isn’t this a great day for America? We are so blessed to have a president like him”

I hope that she will be eating those words for the rest of her life! But I bet she is one of the 22% who still think he is great.

May Bush and all his cronies go rot in hell for what they have done to the middle class of this country.

  23. Curlew says:

Anyone with the intelligence that evolution gave to a ground hog will recognize that Chimpy is the worst president of all time. That should be a closed case. Knowing that, I remain amazed that the media who sheltered him for 8 years, never asking questions and never digging deeper, reamins in Chimpy protection mode. The feeding frenzy surrounding the non-issue of Barack’s non-involvement in Blago-gate is a prime example. Had the media possessed that sort of fervor in 2000 and again in 2004 perhaps we would not have had to endure 8 years of this pompous twit.

Bush has said on more than one occasion, “Who cares about history. We’ll all be dead anyway.” I wish I was 17 instead of 57 so that I had a chance in 50 years to read ho historians eviscerate the little creep.

  24. EmilyD says:

  26. Jackie says:

Do the poll after Gitmo closes and Americans learn the truth of how Bush/Cheney tortured/raped/murdered innocent detainees. As more of the crimes unfold Bush will see his true Legacy is closer to Hitler and Stalin. Bush will make Nixon look better. Nixon did crimes to the United States but Bush did crimes to the World. Notice how nothing is reported about how Bush threaten Musharraf and how Mrs. Bhutto’s murder was an inside job. We leared the IED’s used to kill US soldiers were made and sold by USA. We learned that Govenment Contracts did such a poor job and sometimes nothing at all for the billions they were given. Even killing US soldiers with their shotty work. Many Assassination attempts were done and now we’re giving out Viagra to WarLords as gifts. We are the country for 8 years that borrowed Trillion of dollars, gave out WMD for support of our crimes, we killed/raped/tortured innocent Iraq people and even our own US soldiers when necessary. We invaded a country based on lies and openly murdered in one month 1 million Iraq men/woman/children but as Rummy said Stuff Happens and Cheney said SO.

Bush can’t change the pass and history is just that history. Obama can bring back our US Laws and try to gain the respect back but Bush has made his Legacy and it will shock the World as the hole truth comes out. Even the GOP and Media can’t help Bush with that. Karl Rove will be yelling from his jail cell but only the other prisoners will hear. Cheney will get exactly what God gives him and Rummy will get his too. Connie Rice after she gets out of jail settle down with her soul mate girlfriend from Israel and in her sleep see the people she helped kill.

  27. DanV says:

Revenge would definitely be sweet. But I don’t think it will happen. He might, however, go to his land in Paraguay (no extradition) and live solely on his water rights. Obama won’t stomach any prosecution, because he wants to unite the country.

But he has to watch out: when sits back in his jet on Jan 20th, the pilots might take him to St. Helena instead. Wit, no – too much of an insult to Napoleon. And I’m sure Devil’s Island doesn’t want him, so…how about Tonga? Do they have extradition? worth looking into.

BB – I feel EXACTLY the same way. I have never been like this in my entire life, and want a lot of very bad things to happen to the chimp and his side-kick. I hope this feeling goes away because I don’t like it at all. I think we will be the only ones to suffer any pain or anguish from their 8 years of destruction – I really don’t think they give a rat’s ass about anything or anyone. If there is a hell, there is a very special place there for them.

  32. Marie says:

I am taking some comfort here with some of these comments.
I have never used language before that I find myself using today in speaking of Bush&Co and republicans. I wish for bad things to Bush&Co. The Bush years have brought out a side of me that I didn’t know I had – I don’t like it either. Perhaps a few years of civility in leadership will also have the reverse effect and therefore more positively on me.

It’s too bad that the shrub will “get away with it”, starting war for oil, slicing off chunks of our civil liberties, spying on Americans, torture, incompetance, running up the national debt, growing government, wearing out our military in a useless imperialistic “crusade” in the middle East, lack of intellectual curiosity and just all round dumbass.

Of all presidents we’ve had, the shrub is the one most qualified to travel through history with a big red toe tag that screems “Worst president ever, was IMPEACHED!” But, alas, that won’t happen.

  43. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

The only real hope for Israel is that they are having an election in February. The two top contenders are Netanyahu and Tzipi Livni. From what I have read about Livni shows that she has promoise. She is definitely not another war mongering candidate.

Netanyahu faces a stronger challenge from Tzipi Livni, Israel’s foreign minister and the woman elected to succeed Olmert as head of the young center-right Kadima Party.

The other possible turning point is that a majority of the people in Israel support direct talks with Hamas.

Sixty-four percent of Israelis say the government must hold direct talks with the Hamas government in Gaza toward a cease-fire and the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit. Less than one-third (28 percent) still opposes such talks.

I’m thinking this push now is a last gasp of a government that knows they will no longer be valid after February.

Finally, on the bright side (if you can say that), this is keeping Israel occupied and lessens the chance that they will be attacking Iran any time soon.

This is a very sad state of affairs and Israel’s overreaction has once again become a blood bath. I am praying it is their last. I am also praying that Obama does not buy into the “Israel can do no wrong” mind speak. I’m thinking he won’t.

  51. Question me says:

President bush may have not been a leader of respect or a leader of just to many! He is one who is pledged his respect to all by the time of existansy. He like so many presidents have tried to open doors to the realism of life. Instead the realism has turned into a fight of hate, destruction, lies, and a series of untruth. He who tried to be the president of hope turned into president of anger during his presidency due to the lack of trust by his own government the mistrust of his american nation due to the greed of all american peoples! Hope is for those who search in it and peace is for those who believe and that’s what our beloved president wished for.. But as time progressed our country was blown by terrorist, so many innocent lives torn into shreds because others believed that by doing this they were following the laws of what they believe. It is known that in our country that what you believe in you will succeed. Our president being a human being believed good things could happen then what? Attack to our own people occured and that’s how he became the enemy. He didn’t send our troops to fight for his own will he sent it because a higher power led him too! He didn’t fight because his daughters and wife were in danger it was because we all are. The president just doesn’t act out because of his own will, it is because he defends his american rights. That is to defend his own people. President bush is not the enemy it is those who choose to destroy the rights of our american soil!

Remember President bush isn’t the one who dropped the bomb (air Plane) on us all it was the terrorist who did! He just happend to be right in the middle of it all when it happend. He may be the devil to you all but he is the man who tried to open the doors to so many countries including Israel!

Remember they may be great leaders but those who tried opening door to the many will greatly succeed in the future!

President Bush is not a Monster he is simply a man who took oath in the office in Washington to protect those who he thought most needed it. Unfortunately by the acts and neglects of others he has been made out a monster!

My peace and heart go out to the Busch family who suffer the attacks of every day people. Hopefully his heart and compasionate warmth will pour out to him!

  52. dbearton says:

If America wonts to be restored, America can not wait for Bush and the RepubliCons to be in jail.

  53. webegeeks says:

Bush is going to get off scott free for all of his criminal behaviors and Constitution trashing. The only hope anyone has of his paying for his actions is if the world takes action against him, because no-one in this country with the power to do so has the will to do so.
