In an effort to “prevent Palestinians from attacking towns in southern Israel” with rockets, Israel today undertook its third day of offensive military airstrikes in the Palestinian territory of Gaza, raising the death toll to more than 300. The Palestinian casualty numbers have been described as the highest over such a brief period since the 1967 Six-Day war. Scores of Israelis have been wounded — and at least one killed — by rocket attacks fired by Palestinians. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak called the situation “all out war.”
While Bush has been briefed on the situation by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, he has opted not to interrupt his final vacation as president to make a public statement on the crisis. For someone who has enjoyed the most vacation days as sitting president — including days spent relaxing in comfort during Hurricane Katrina and in the lead-up to 9/11 — it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Bush prioritizes vacationing over crisis management. ABC News reports:
Even an emerging crisis in the Middle East, one he pledged to resolve just 13 months ago, has not drawn President George W. Bush from his final vacation before leaving office. Despite his personal pledge at Annapolis last year to broker a deal between Israel and the Palestinians before 2009, this weekend Bush sent his spokesmen to comment in his stead. [...]
Since departing Washington for Crawford on Friday, President Bush has made no attempt to be seen in public. In fact, he has yet to leave his ranch.
Today, in a press briefing delivered from the “Western White House” in Crawford, TX, White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe was asked what is on Bush’s schedule today. In addition to receiving “updates on the ongoing situation,” Johndroe said, “I expect he’ll probably ride his bicycle today and spend time with Mrs. Bush.” Watch it:
President-elect Barack Obama has also been monitoring the violence from his vacationing spot in Hawaii, staying in contact with Bush and Rice. “President Bush speaks for the United States until Jan. 20 and we’re going to honor that,” Obama adviser David Axelrod said.
One senior Bush administration official told the Washington Post that he thinks the Israelis acted in Gaza “because they want it to be over before the next administration comes in” and because “they can’t predict how the next administration will handle it.” Indeed, Bush has become fairly predictable in how he manages these sorts of crises.
He’s done nothing to further the cause of peace in the Middle East for 8 years, why start now?
December 29th, 2008 at 3:18 pmWorst president ever.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:19 pmwe’re probably better off with him out of the loop to be honest.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:21 pmHe’s no doubt stumbling around the Crawford compound in a drunken stupor. Afraid to go outside where a reporters camera might catch him, opting to hunker down in the media room with his torture videos and a jar of vaseline, paper shredders running full time in the background. This pathetic clown has not handeled ONE crisis in a dignified and intelligent manner in his half-@ssed life. Why should it be any different in the end run? Maybe he’ll trip and crack his fool head open…I take that back. That would give the reins to the Merchant of Death Dick Cheney. One day in absolute power could spell the end of civilization with that crooked f@ck!
December 29th, 2008 at 3:24 pmWhile Bush has been briefed on the situation by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, he has opted not to interrupt his final vacation as president to make a public statement on the crisis.
In other words, his handlers will not be able to dry out the drunk, before the week is up, enough to be seen in public.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:33 pmdeebaser Says:
“we’re probably better off with him out of the loop to be honest.”
no doubt! just let the bum clear some brush.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:35 pmWhat the hell is this stooge doing on vacation 3 weeks before he goes on permanent vacation? And what exactly is he vacationing from, since it’s not like he’s exactly been putting a whole lotta effort into his current job?
I mean, I know the guy is lazy and has basically coasted through life failing at everything he’s ever done, but this would seem to bring laziness to a whole new level…
December 29th, 2008 at 3:37 pmIn a related story:
So, Bush won’t interrupt a vacation while the Middle East becomes embroiled in a war to the bitter end.
On the bright side, as long as he’s vacationing, he won’t nuke the entire planet…
December 29th, 2008 at 3:38 pmThat’s because he hates
Black people
Poor people
Asians
Hispanics
Smart people
Caring people
Democrats
Liberals
and anyone else who is not him.
And this is why we hate him (and Dick Cheney).
December 29th, 2008 at 3:38 pmAs far as I can tell, he’s been taking an eight year vacation.
Of course, it’s pretty obvious that when he does try to do something in response to a crisis, it ends up way worse than if he just sat it out. So I guess the best thing he can do now is sit down, keep his mouth shut and don’t touch anything.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:38 pmWTF??? He’s been on a permanent vacation since January 20, 2001 anyway, how can we expect him to interrupt the last 23 days of this vacation with a minor issue like the lack of peace in the Middle East?
December 29th, 2008 at 3:38 pmNot just the worst president ever, but an A-1 Ahole to boot. Sorry mtherfcker.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:46 pmWhite House spokesman Gordon Johndroe was asked what is on Bush’s schedule today. In addition to receiving “updates on the ongoing situation,” Johndroe said, “I expect he’ll probably ride his bicycle today and spend time with Mrs. Bush.”
If one picture could sum up 8 years of George Bush’s leadership, I think this picture here could qualify
Sigh . . .just saying . . .
December 29th, 2008 at 3:46 pmAre there any provisions in the Constitution for the change of power to take place earlier than planned if both parties agree to it?
Seems silly for Dubya to have to deal with all of this shit when all he wants to do is ride his bike.
Anyone doubt that as a school kid, Dubya checked out for summer vacation around the fifteen of April?
December 29th, 2008 at 3:47 pmVacation is all I ever wanted… Vacation had to get away.. Bush could care less about the Middle East crisis. As the days are winding for Bush to leave office, Bush officially checked out as the Commander-in-chief and is on permanent vacation. I expected nothing from him to deal with the Middle East crisis or anything else in this country that is a crisis. And notice that Bush’s cronies have been working the T.V. circuit to puff up Bush’s legacy. Bush is more concern about his legacy on life support than doing his job as President.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:49 pmralph,
December 29th, 2008 at 3:52 pmI believe that Dubya started school summer vacation two days after Labor Day.
Easy to blame the Preznit.
But how about the shameful silence of Barry and Hillary?
December 29th, 2008 at 3:53 pmSo stooopid is being kept busy riding his bike today . .
GOOD!!
December 29th, 2008 at 3:58 pmWenigerGottquatsch Says:
Easy to blame the Preznit.
But how about the shameful silence of Barry and Hillary?
WG, you’re joking, right? Why would either of them be speaking out right now? Obama isn’t president yet (and, as he has correctly noted through his spokesman on this subject, “we have only one president at a time,”) and Clinton is still just a US Senator (and we only have one Sec of State at a time.) Until they are in their new offices, they should remain silent.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:58 pmWenigerGottquatsch Says:

December 29th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Oh, gosh – guess you’ve been sleeping: unfortunately gwb is still the president until 20 Jan. So he is to blame. An president-elect has pointed out that there is only one president at a time in the USA. So your game goes “Tilt*.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:00 pmIt’s all Abraham’s fault for not practicing abstinence.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:02 pmNot much of a reader, are ya?
President-elect Barack Obama has also been monitoring the violence from his vacationing spot in Hawaii, staying in contact with Bush and Rice. “President Bush speaks for the United States until Jan. 20 and we’re going to honor that,” Obama adviser David Axelrod said.
No, not much of a reader at all…
December 29th, 2008 at 4:02 pmBush murdered 1 million Iraq people and made 5 million homeless why would he blink an eye at Israel wiping Palestine off the map. Israel will kill as many Palestine people as possible and take the Gaza land. As the Israel population grows they will continue to invade Syria, Egypt and Iraq for there land. Only problem is as Israel grains Power and more land they might feel no need to have the US as allies. As Israel has already took control of the US Govenment it would be a walk in the park to take over the US.
Dec. 29, 1947 Jewish immigrants were turned away fro the land of Palestine.
Notice Israel is just celebrating their 60 year as the land wasn’t theirs but the occupied it.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:02 pmWenigerGottquatsch Says:
Easy to blame the Preznit.
But how about the shameful silence of Barry and Hillary?
Oh, has Obama or Hillary, either one, been sworn in as President yet?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:03 pmHmmmm?
And if Obama or Clinton DID speak out, would the wingnuts have a collective temper tantrum and cite the fact that neither of them are in their new positions yet? You betcha!
December 29th, 2008 at 4:05 pmYeah, it IS easy to blame the president. No question about it.
But THIS president just makes it too damn easy. Almost like he’s trying some retarded form of reverse psychology… “see, if ah make it so obvious that ah’m a fu(k-up, then folks’ll get bored with blamin me, an’ they’ll start blamin’ other folks, folks that should know better. It’s all part a’ mah strategery to lower expectations so ah can exceed ‘em with an effort that would be embarrassin’ to any normal person. Heh heh heh.”
December 29th, 2008 at 4:09 pmA man or woman with integrity, decency, compassion, not in thrall to AIPAC, would speak out aginst the massacre of civilians perpetrated on Gaza.
Y’all would say the same thing if the earthquake were exploding atop your heads, killing and maiming your children, destroying your homes homes. You have not experienced the brutality of war, so you know not whereof you speak.
What does it matter if Barry is sworn in or not? He has an obligation to humanity to speak out about genocide.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:10 pm“President Bush speaks for the United States until Jan. 20 and we’re going to honor that,”
Translation:
December 29th, 2008 at 4:10 pmgeorge bush speaks for corporate interests until Jan. 20th, and there’s nothing we can do about that.
or:
george bush will be drinking heavily until Jan. 20th at which time he will expire.
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak called the situation “all out war.”
Yeah right. It’s more like another Israel’s murderous spree.
Israel and chimpy’s US are a dangerous pair to the world.
They will pay.
chimpy can’t be interrupted unless he needs to give out a memento of himself, lie to himself, talk about his fine portrait or to hand out pardons.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:12 pm1 Israeli dead and 300 Palestinians dead…Something is wrong with that ratio. It’s okay for Israel to ‘defend itself’ and launch a massive terror attack???…wow
December 29th, 2008 at 4:15 pmWenigerShnetzelquatsch Says:
Easy to blame the Preznit.
Easy to blame?
WTF?
9/11? Clinton’s fault.
Katrina? New Orleans fault.
Recession? Congress’ fault.
Mortgage crisis? Poor peoples fault.
When the FCK has “The Decider” ever taken blame for anything?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:15 pmMucking foron!
What does it matter if Barry is sworn in or not? He has an obligation to humanity to speak out about genocide.
It matters because he would appear to be speaking as the President for the whole nation. At this point in time, he is neither a private citizen who would be speaking for himself, even if he says he is, nor is he the one in charge of foreign policy making, which any statement he makes would be interpreted as.
You have not experienced the brutality of war, so you know not whereof you speak.
Big assumption, there. Plus, empathy does not require actual experience of an event to appreciate it. Besides, trauma is always individually experienced and often those who have a similar external experience make inaccurate assumptions about the internal experience of others.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:17 pmBush is president in absentia – he does not deal with crises.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:21 pmNothing, but nothing interferes with his “vacation” at the ranch.
Jeezuz Crist – he’s leaving for a permanent vacation in three weeks – he feels he just needs to take time off now? Gimme a break.
Not that he would do anything important anyway – but as president, he should at least give the appearance that he is on the job!
deebaser Says:
we’re probably better off with him out of the loop to be honest.
December 29th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Absolutely.
Bush could only make things worse, and they are bad enough already.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:22 pmWenigerGottquatsch Says:
What does it matter if Barry is sworn in or not?
There is only one president at a time, dimwit.
What can Obama actually do?
The person that should be speaking out and doing something is doing the drunken brush fight in Crawford and cannot be bothered to do the job he was (s)elected to do, as usual.
And who is this Barry you are speaking of? That is President-elect Barack Obama to you, wingnut.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:23 pmIf Obama jumped into this thing more than he already has, WenigerGottquatsch would be screaming that Obama is overstepping.
Nice try.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:24 pmLooks like we have a troll here wanting to blame Obama/Clinton for the ongoing mess in the middle East.
They are not in office yet – stupid troll – GWB has been prez for 8 years; he said early on Israel and Palestine can figure out their own problems, he was staying out of it — what we see today is a situation left unattended that has run amok.
Again, not that the idiot is capable of anything substantive, and not that Rice is capable of anything other than shoe-shopping — but they have not even made a real effort.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:26 pmSo don’t go looking to blame Obama/Clinton for this debacle — this is just more of the same results from the actions/inactions of GWBush. Worst President Ever.
Do you all suppose that wingnuts have adopted the name “Barry” because it seems diminutive, which appeals to their immature nature, or because “Barack” is a Biblical name, thus undercutting their whole “Obama is a Muslim” meme?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:26 pm23% of Americans don’t agree that Bush should be drug behind a wild horse on crystal meth through a patch of rocks and cactus.
23% of Americans are simply wrong.

President-ELECT Obama called himself Barry.
It had to do with people from the US messing up the pronunciation.
probably all repugs.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:29 pmchimpy probably told the Israelis to have “fun” now.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:30 pmMaybe he can just fly over the area later and look pensively out of the window like he did after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans…
December 29th, 2008 at 4:31 pmMarie Says:
Not that he would do anything important anyway – but as president, he should at least give the appearance that he is on the job!
Why would he start doing that now, this late in the game?
To fix his joke of a legacy? =)
It took his handlers a week to dry him out enough for him to make a public appearance after Katrina…..
December 29th, 2008 at 4:31 pmTrolls can’t help themselves – they are programmed to blame Obama, Clinton, and allDemocrats for everything. They believe the idiot-boy in the WHite House is a lily-pure, honest individual who just needs to take a break from his “hard work” and go to the ranch.
If Obama overshadows Bush, the repugs wiould cry bloody murder. If Obama keeps abreast of the situation, and issues general statements, the trolls cry bloody murder.
Hey, we have been living under the reign of George the Terrible for 8 years and I am screaming bloody murder!!!
December 29th, 2008 at 4:35 pmY’all have a lot invested in believing that Barry (his nickname in college) is gonna be a bunch better than Chimp.
Smarter, slicker, for sure. More rational, more eloquent, less goofy, yowsa. A better image before the rest of the world, of course. A relief from the Cheney administration, absolutely.
More compassionate about the suffering of innocents, not clear at all when you consider his present silence. Less beholden to the corporate interests that control us all, whaddaya think?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:36 pmI think you’re right, Wayne. I think the guy is drunk most of the time when he is not snorting; and it is safer to put him away on the ranch than put him in the public eye.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:36 pmralph,
They’re using it because Obama used that name when he was younger. They are not using it affectionately, but rather pejoratively.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:37 pm“Y’all have a lot invested in believing that Barry (his nickname in college)”
This really makes me laugh. A better student of pyschology than I could have a field day…
December 29th, 2008 at 4:41 pmWeinershneitzel has nothing.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:42 pmPost #46 is proof positive.
They’re calling him Barry because they think they’re clever. Just like they are saying Limbaugh promoted “Barack the Magic Negro” because it was a parody not to be racist or demeaning. Anybody with half a brain knows they’re belittling insults. Of course that leaves out all the people who still vote Republican.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:43 pmI can’t wait to see how this site is going to spin the news for the Dems. I guess they can keep playing the blame Bush game and I’m sure they will. But, what about holding Uhhhhhhbama to all of his campaign promises?
December 29th, 2008 at 4:58 pmThe dickweeds use Barry for the same reason I use Boy George, to belittle and demean. The difference is that little george earned my disrespect whereas President Barack Obama is disrespected because he was born with that unfortunate skin color.
They are racists, pure and oh so very simple.
December 29th, 2008 at 4:58 pmMY GAWD, WEINERSHNEITZLE AND SPICEMAN!
December 29th, 2008 at 4:59 pmWHY HAS MCCAIN AND PALIN BEEN SILENT ON THIS ISSUE?
Hi ICEMAN
December 29th, 2008 at 5:01 pmlittle white guy afraid of the black guy, eh ice?
December 29th, 2008 at 5:03 pmWenigerGottquatsch,
Just out of curiosity, what does your name translate to? I’ve been trying to figure it out, and all I can say is I hope I’m wrong.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:05 pmAs many have said here, it’s probably a good thing Bush is keeping his mouth shut on this.
Whenever he spoke about the financial crisis, the Dow would drop astronomically while he was talking.
If he tries to get involved, he’ll just screw it up.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:09 pmThanks, rhf. I’m glad I was wrong. And, no, I won’t write what I thought it meant. (I thought it was made up.)
December 29th, 2008 at 5:13 pmYeah, we are where we are. We are there specifically because of bush and the gop. What happened to your lies about accountability?
You damned right we will blame bush. We will beat that drum until everyone gets it. So it can’t happen again.
You speak of spin while litterally spinning out of control. You have spun yourselves into the permanant minority…
December 29th, 2008 at 5:21 pmBush Refuses To Interrupt His Final Vacation As Middle East Crisis Escalates»
God help us all if bush tried to do something with this mess. It would be in the best interest of all if bush stayed on vacation until Jan. 20.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:22 pmI am a conservative so I registered to see what this site was saying about the current conflict in Gaza. And sure enough was I right. I knew you people would be talking about how the president is on vacation. Well what about your saviour Barack Obama, why aren’t you asking him to interrupt his vacation in Hawaii, which is a real vacation. The current occupant of 1600 Pennslyvania Avenue is at his home in crawford, Texas. There is thing called video confering where a person can be in on place and talk to people in another. President Bush has a separate office building on his crawford property, where I think he is monitoring the situation very carefully. You people need to get a life. I can’t for the life of me understand why there is such hatred for this President
December 29th, 2008 at 5:25 pmA few weeks ago, Bush made some points with me for actually appearing presidential – namely, taking action on the auto makers and rest of the economy and making a point of saying there would be a smooth transition and he wasn’t going to leave a mess for Obama to clean up.
And now, with “all out war” occuring in a powderkeg area of the world with ties to the rest of the Middle East and hence Arab countries and oil…… Where is he now ?
On second thought, knowing how well Shrub has done so far, maybe it is better if he doesn’t do anything.

Trollie come lately, it helps if you read the comments before you post. You look less foolish that way. Well, not that much less, but you could put in some effort.
Run along…
December 29th, 2008 at 5:30 pmAww, the conservatroll wants Barak to go ahead and start fixing the mess that shrub has created…..how cute.
News flash: Barak is a sentator at the moment…..
Lets ask the economy, no wait, lets ask our failed military occupation of Iraq. No wait, where did we leave ben laden, no wait….
got a few weeks cause this is going to take some time.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:31 pmTo the right side dismals out there:
This recent behavior from Israel can also be put at the feet of Bush. The GOP really loves them some AIPAC and it shows with the idiotic remarks from the right. Bush is still president and it is his responsibility to be in the public eye and be the face of the USA. Where is Bush, you ask? Well he is at home moving scrub brush from one side of the road to the other. Where is Obama – who is not yet even president? He is making statements to help reduce the violence and generate some dialog with the parties.
The guy the right side likes couldn’t be bothered as he is on vacation WHILE STILL PRESIDENT!
The guy the left likes is NOT YET PRESIDENT but is none the less trying to do his part. Which guy do you want on your team?
December 29th, 2008 at 5:32 pmYa know, I really like Bill and Hillary and have stuck up for them repeatedly here, but you stuck your nose in it with that statement and then when you draw fire you want to act like the victim…….trollish comes to mind.
Obama has included Hillary in a very prominant position. They are getting along. Time for you to come on board too.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:36 pmI wonder if Condaleza Rice includes the current confrontation in her A+ grade for foreign policy ?
December 29th, 2008 at 5:36 pmcelynch Says: (some nonsense)
No one is asking President-Elect Obama to end his vacation because he isn’t president (yet). Bush is the president and, quite frankly, he has spent more than enough time on vacation (either in Crawford, Camp David, or in Maine).
And if you seriously can’t understand why so many people dislike Bush, then either you haven’t been paying attention to the many crimes and violations of his constitutional oath of office that he’s committed, or you aren’t that smart. I won’t rule out the possibility that being conservative, both could be true for you.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:37 pmrhf,
I will not say it here, but believe me, I didn’t think it was nice. That’s why I asked. Thanks for clarifying.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:38 pmOut of the chutes with a lie……you don’t have to register to read the comments……only if you want to put in your 2cents……..
You wasted your time and mine.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:38 pmIf a flooded city in his own country didn’t interrupt his vacation, why would a bloodbath in the middle east? But he’s sprintin’ to the finish.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:39 pmcelynch-
Don’t you think that fellow conservatives would complain if Barack Obama did insert himself in the Gaza crisis? Obama is the President ELECT. He has no executive power yet. Do you honestly think that John McCain would have done any different had he won the election? Maybe you thought the bailout stunt that McCain tried during the campaign was effective.
BTW, we have lives. We don’t post here because we don’t have lives. Your problem is that for the life of you, you can’t understand why there is such hatred for your beloved GW Bush.
Enjoy your saviours Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter. They’ll agree with you. Don’t waste your time at TP.
You people need to get a life. I can’t for the life of me understand why there is such hatred for this President
December 29th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
The thing about this troll is that if he ever pulled his head out of the GOP backside long enough to breathe, he would answer his own question.
To our troll: Your boy king has screwed up everything he has touched since being born. He even screwed up a pardon, for goodness sakes! The country is bigger and more important than your love for King Bush. I know when you see Bush in his flight suit, little sparkles begin to glow within you – we get it. We understand how difficult it is to think for your self and find various forms of information from which to determine your beliefs – we get it, you like Fox News. Dude: WE GET IT! Sucks to be you…
December 29th, 2008 at 5:39 pmThe real problem here is Hamas. They were supposed to be big boys and play nice after they were elected to power. Instead they went back to their roots which is violence and terrorism plan and simple. Israel gave the Gaza, and removed, sometimes forcably over 8500 Israel settlers. Nad Hamas screwed that up too. They are like 16 year olds left alone at home for the first time. They couldn’t handle the responsibility. The world would will be better off without Hamas.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:40 pmTell me again: Why do we send $2-5 billion dollars to Israel every year? What is in it for us?
December 29th, 2008 at 5:42 pmrepublicans hate facts
ROTFL! Yeah, absolve Israel of ALL GUILT for shoving all of those Palestinians into shrinking territories.
The Palestinians are lucky to have any land at all. They should be thankful for what they get. Israel is a legitimate country who should be able to defend themselves. They have been attacked on multiple occasions by multiple countries all at the same time. I think they have a right to be a bit jaded when it comes to terrorist groups attacking their civilians.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:47 pmNettles Says:
Are we now prepared to lay the deaths of innocent Palestinians caught in the cross-fire at his feet as well?
When the USA keeps manufacturing and selling cluster bombs to Israel? HELLS YEAH WE’RE BLAMING BUSH!
December 29th, 2008 at 5:50 pmI don’t like your solution. The Palistinians have changed party leadership many times and their efforts have gotten nobel peace prize attention…….the same can’t be said for Israel….quite the opposite in fact.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:50 pmAnother Chris Says:
The real problem here is Hamas.
We are not hearing all sides of the story… only the part our media reports.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:51 pmIt’s not like he’s setting the precedent. Presidents have rarely done more than sigh (or issue the occasional stern press release) after an Israeli response disproportionate to the threat.
On the other hand, they’re glad to help Israel isolate Palestinians on request.
Tell me – is it better to be shot, or starved to death?
December 29th, 2008 at 5:53 pmYou of course mean Israel. What exactly did they do to earn thier land? Buy it? No, I didn’t think so. Legitimate? by who’s standards?
I think Israel should be glad to have any land at all. It was after all a gift taken from the true residents of Palestine. They should at least be good neighbors.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:55 pmWell I guess, republicans hate facts, it comes down to this questions, “Why do you hate Jews?”
December 29th, 2008 at 5:55 pmI am very hopeful that none of you believe Barack will solve the middle east. He has not produced a plan for the area, nor do I think he should. It’s where presidential legacies go to die. It is probably not possible to have peace in the middle east, as evidenced by 70 years of hostility concerning the Jewish state. The only way there will be “Peace” in the middle east is if Israel leaves and exists no more. Still, I’m not so sure the Arabs would be peaceful. Bush is doing what he should, let the Israeli’s clean up and leave us out of it. I believe that is the thinking on here under normal circumstances. Let’s see, commit troops to Darfur and Palestine but not Afghanistan or Iraq? Makes sense to the insane.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:58 pmI’ve been waiting for this non sequetor. You are the first person here to say the word Jew.
There are plenty of left leaning Israelies who do not agree with the right wing of thier country…..and they will prevail, eventually, despite you and your hate mongering.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:58 pmYou have just admitted defeat with this statement. You have nothing.
December 29th, 2008 at 5:59 pmrhf doesn’t “hate Jews”, Another Chris. Why is any criticism of Israel seen as anti-Semitic? Why is anyone who thinks Israel does wrong, too, automatically assumed to hate the Jews?
December 29th, 2008 at 6:01 pmFunny but untrue, there was peace in the 90’s. See Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
I’m pretty sure a bole weavel can do a better job than bush has done so I’m confident that things will improve under Obama.
How else do you explain this sudden all out war by Israel, just before the changing of the guard? Silly wabbit.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:02 pmWhere are the Palestinians’ tanks?
Oh yeah, they wouldn’t have tanks because the Israelis are fighting civilians.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:05 pmNa, I aint very fragile……If I misunderstood the context then I apologize. I just would like to see the left start pulling together for a change…..no offense meant rhf.
Obamaheads does offend me though and it would be equitable if you apologize for that.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:05 pmi cant believe this little pipsqueak has the nerve/insensitivity to mention Bush’s™ bike ride!!!
December 29th, 2008 at 6:06 pmThe death advocates don’t want to compare might. After all the US just used 95% of the worlds military might to defeat a country with .005% of the worlds military might and it only took us 7 years to do it……..
Here’s and example of thier proposes (final)solution. Ironic isn’t it?
December 29th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
George W. bush does not care about other people.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:11 pmAnother Chris Says:
The Palestinians are lucky to have any land at all.
What are you proposing – sending them out to sea? I mean, how do you live if you don’t have any lan – ohh, I get it. You mean that they deserve to be victims of total genocide. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah cut off the blood money to Israel.
You don’t get out much do ya? The Palestinians people were willing to take 600k of displaced people after WWII, not 6-7 times that much. It was a planned take over.
I see your point. Now that Israel is getting bad press from the public at large, it’s time for everybody to butt out.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:15 pmIsraeli officials Sunday said their top priority is to destabilize Hamas and cripple its ability to keep firing the crude rockets into southern Israel that have killed seven Israelis in the last two years.
Gaza is not a threat to the security of Israel. That is just an excuse to massacre Palestinians.
Entertain a situation where Jews in an Arab country, say Iran, are slaughtered by the thousands, because a few Jewish miscreants launched crude bombs that managed to kill on Iranian every 3 months. Would we not call that an act of ethnic cleansing?

All I know about all this is if you’re going to proclaim the ethical strength of your religion, and then put the symbols of your religion on your state flag and name, then maybe you should try to be a little more ethical than the other guy. The current behavior of the state of Israel is an insult to the ethical foundation of Judaism, and I bet generations of the greatest Talmudic Rabbis are spinning in their graves over this behavior. The fact that it’s Israel’s religious right that backs such behavior only makes it worse.
republicans hate facts Says:
Actually Jews stole the land twice. Once from the Phoenician/Canaanite/Greek/Egyptian peoples, and then from the Palestinians…
I saw this interesting Nova documentary recently that suggests that the best archaological evidence currently shows that the Jewish people as we know them actually were the Canaanites, having reorganized under new principles following the internal collapse of their social order. It’s like fact-based and everything! Just throwing that in in passing. Using terms like “stole” or “killed” between populations – especially the further back you go in history – rarely means what it seems to mean in common usage.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:23 pmIsraeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak called the situation “all out war.”
A war Israel started. As it was the last time, Israel is overreacting and killing innocents. God I hope that Obama takes a more balanced approach to this problem rather than the “Israel is always right” approach of his predecessors.
Is anyone surprised that Bush won’t interrupt his vacation for a crisis? This is proof positive we have to pass a law that moves the succession to no more than a month after the election. This whole thing is one big clusterfk.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:28 pmIf the White House wanted to, they could do more than “make a public statement on the crisis”. They could actually stop the killing and the destruction of civilian sites in Gaza. They could tell Israel “stop or we will stop the billions of dollars we give you every year!”.
But this would have the assumption that the White House does not approve of the destruction of Gaza. They do approve. This is the Bush administration’s way of foreign policy—violence. They think it works. They don’t see that it is increasing our enemies.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:30 pmAs far as I can tell, Israeli national and foreign policy, just like US policy, has been dominated by an increasingly extreme religious and secular political right-wing–mirroring the US trend that is only now being changed.
Having been permitted through international apathy to maintain illegal occupation of Gaza, Israel has progressively worked to strangle and starve the Palestinians out of existence–using methods very much like those used by the Nazis on Polish Jews at the beginning of WWII (before the Nazis settled on The Final Solution). With no effective assistance from even within the Arab world, and with any Western sympathies constantly diluted by an arcane and apparently sacrosanct relationship with Israel (despite its utter lack of tangible benefits and despite the expenses incurred) all the Palestinians can do is protest through violence, and all Israel ever responds to is violence with more violence, secure in the fact that the US above all will support them regardless.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:31 pmralph the wonder llama Says:
Are there any provisions in the Constitution for the change of power to take place earlier than planned if both parties agree to it?
Actually, it’s up to Congress. The succession has already been moved up once by Congress so there’s no reason why they can’t do it again.
The only good thing about this newest Israeli offensive is that they will be too busy to attack Iran before Obama takes office.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:32 pmrepublicans hate facts Says
I take back my apology, you are a twit. I read back through the thread and it fits. You attack all indiscriminatly.

60% of the people living in Israel favor direct talks with Hamas. This is not a war started by the people of Israel. This is a war started by the Bush copycat war-mongering Israeli government.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:38 pmto republicans hate facts re: #115
I have been a fan of Kucinich since 2004… he did not win then or in 2008. Most, if not all Kucinich supporters got over it…. some went to Edwards, then Obama.
We ALL need to stand together, but I do see some animosity coming from your post of Obama’s win.
As it appears Kucinich supporters have fully moved on, why not some supporting Hilary?
December 29th, 2008 at 6:40 pmAnother Chris Says:
The Palestinians are lucky to have any land at all. They should be thankful for what they get. Israel is a legitimate country who should be able to defend themselves.
Israel is a created country, created by taking the state of Palestine by force, and kicking the people that lived there off their own land. Israel was created by stealing others lands.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:40 pmtsk, if they blamed Clinton for 9-11, i guess by that same “logic” they can hold Obama responsible for Gaza!
December 29th, 2008 at 6:41 pmNow the Israelis are bombing Egypt.
hear on cnn: “punishing bombings” referring to bombs dropped on Gaza.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:43 pmBush should be given a permanent “vacation”, behind bars.

rhf doesn’t “hate Jews”, Another Chris. Why is any criticism of Israel seen as anti-Semitic? Why is anyone who thinks Israel does wrong, too, automatically assumed to hate the Jews?
Wayne,
Excellent point. Anyone who knows anything about the NATION of Israel and the diverse peoples who live there would NEVER confuse the NATION of Israel with THE JEWISH RELIGION. Never Ever.
I was banned at CrooksAndLiars.com after just 2 posts years ago and accused of being Anti-Semitic for making comments against the government of Israel and not the religion. So even the liberals are thin skinned and ignorant too.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:55 pmThe moment Israel stops bombing, removes its checkpoints, and lifts it’s blockage, the Palestinian agitators loose 95% of their credibility.
That includes Hama’s big wigs who, from the safety and comfort of Damascus, are calling for Palestinians to feed the beast of vengeance with their bodies and blood. Chickenhawks.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:57 pmWhat Chimpy worry, why start now?
December 29th, 2008 at 6:59 pmBush is not responding because this isn’t a crisis to him. As Botch heads out of office, Brown people are killing each other, war profiteering is in its juiciest phase, and Israel can do no wrong. His vision has come to life: war is peace.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:00 pm#127 — Wayne says
Israel is a created country, created by taking the state of Palestine by force, and kicking the people that lived there off their own land. Israel was created by stealing others lands.
I think you are close to the truth as I see it. It is about land. Period.
Israel took a western style method of “owning land” into a society that understood everyone “shared the land” where surveyors and court documents didn’t matter. And they still don’t.
Until this complete disconnect is solved nothing moves forward. IMHO.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:08 pmAm I missing something? Was Israel not established as a Jewish state? Antisemitism is the reason the state exists. What would they do without it?
December 29th, 2008 at 7:12 pmwiley,
It was created as a “Jewish state” after WWII because the anti-semitism in the world, even outside of Nazi Germany, would not allow them to live anywhere else and it was close to their “promised land” as understood in the Torah and Bible.
It is no longer a “Jewish state.” It is diverse.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:19 pmBush has earned the scorn he has received from Americans regarding Katrina and the current economic climate. Are we now prepared to lay the deaths of innocent Palestinians caught in the cross-fire at his feet as well?
Yes.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:29 pmIf only he had gone on vacation January 2000 to the land of a thousand islands and spent a week on each one.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:32 pmI am very hopeful that none of you believe Barack will solve the middle east. He has not produced a plan for the area, nor do I think he should. Except that President Carter was able to craft a lasting peace between Israel and Egypt. I know, that doesn’t fit into your paradygm, him being a Democrat and all, but the Camp David Accords were accomplished with diplomacy, not bombs, and have lasted to this day.
If Ireland and South Africa can find peaceful resolutions, so can the Middle East.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:33 pmFaiz,
Can we get our progressive story straight and stick with it?
Either we want GW Botch on vacation or we don’t.
If he had stuck around D.C. would that have been better?
And, isn’t this getting silly?
December 29th, 2008 at 7:47 pmWow! Nothing like military action against a marginalized civilian population to bring out the “compassion” in our favorite conservative sockpuppets. But, what can one expect from those who are convinced that the reason the Republicriminals got spanked is that they aren’t radical enough?
December 29th, 2008 at 7:48 pmI haven;t read the whole thread so forgive me if I;m being redundant but has anyone noticed the similarities between the present bloody actions and bloody and rhetorical responses and those of the July/August 2006 Israel Lebanon War?
Bush was on vacation then as well, BUT the US did ensure that the war ran a full month by re-supplying Israel with cluster-bombsm and, said nothing about Israel continuing its blockade for two weeks after the war had officially ended.
The only benefit Israel got from it was the assurance that the Bush administration would support whatever local action Israel might want to take in the future, as long as the Bush administration lasted.
Interestingly enough I met a young Israeli woman in the mall this weekend, trying to sell me some beauty treatment (from one of the stalls, most of which are Israeli owned and staffed by attractive Israelis). She chatted me up and I chatted her up and we got onto the subject of the military because I was wearing my very comfortable ACU camo shirt and she asked me if I was in the army.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:51 pmI told her no, “but you must have been in the IDF”.
Yes she’d done her two years and now she was traveling around, having been in France for a couple of months, the UK for about six months and now the US.
She wasn’t interested in rushing back to fight for Israel against the Palestinians in this “all out war”.
Critical situations confuse him, he needs to take a few bottles off to not think about it.
Worst Non-elected President Ever.
December 29th, 2008 at 7:55 pmugh. “democratic strategist” flak on CNN are linking this massacre to the ‘War on Terror’ and then challenged the Palestinians to overthrow their democratically elected government(Hamas). Repub ‘counter’ had the audacity to suggest that HRC Bob Gates and BHO harbor secret ‘pro Palestinian’ sentiments. Our political establishment is so…
December 29th, 2008 at 7:59 pmbronzbootz, love the link you have on your name.
December 29th, 2008 at 8:08 pmWell, hell, if Bush refuses to make a statement why not just roll out Gordon Johndroe, Mrs. Bush’s old “press secretary.” Surely he’s qualified to pontificate about the Israeli-Palestinian struggle.
For an anti-gay Administration, the whole press apparatus seems to have gone gay – Johndroe, Fratto…
December 29th, 2008 at 8:19 pmThank God we had a President with some guts to keep us safe since 911!!! For us being in Iraq and Afghanistan has made countries think twice before messing with the red, white, and blue.
I hope the new admin will have half the guts with guns blazing “Where ever and When ever”!!!!
God Bless!!!
December 29th, 2008 at 8:23 pmThanks livelongandprosper it’s a truly timeless song with a timeless message.

December 29th, 2008 at 8:29 pmMakes me laugh. Simple yet silly…
Mr. Bush is still trying to finish “My Pet Goat.”
Give him time. Give him time.
He’s a real slow reader…and a real slow learner.
December 29th, 2008 at 8:45 pmBush to world: I’m out, F y’all. Stay out of my new lovely neighborhood.
December 29th, 2008 at 8:47 pmWith friends like Israel, who needs enemies.
December 29th, 2008 at 8:53 pmBodies are piling up? Hell, Bush doesn’t even care when that happens in his own country! This stuff is old hat to Sheriff G.W. Pepper. He thinks these conflicts overseas are Comedy Central 2.
As long as the Israelis need weapons, the Defense Department’s cash register is ringing. Just not that that ringing gives any angels wings…just devils horns.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:15 pmI guess it’s too much to hope he’s going to a beach in Australia.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:15 pmIdiot has 22 days left in office before he has all the time in the world to take vacations and can’t be bothered to cut this one short. Mentioning this is redundant of course — what I don’t understand is why the son is so different from the father.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:16 pmW is a son of a Barbara. But, then, so is Jeb.
December 29th, 2008 at 9:33 pmReceived this from Progressive Democrats of America:
Stop the Gaza massacre–Tell Congress to enforce the law.
Massacre seems like such a harsh word, but that is exactly what’s going on in Gaza, and it’s happening with US made weapons, and the tacit approval of our government by failing to uphold the law—the U.S. Arms Control Export and Foreign Assistance Act.
Tell your member of Congress to enforce the law:

December 29th, 2008 at 10:03 pmAll thinks considered, wouldn’t it be better for him to just STAY in Crawford for the remainder of his term? Right through the transfer of power. Heck, right through 2009. For that matter, for the rest of his natural life (and I wish him a long one, filled with introspection and remorse).
Frankly, I see no need for him to leave Texas at all, ever, aside from a trip to the Hague, of course.
December 29th, 2008 at 10:09 pmIs what the Israelis have done to the Palestinians worse than what the United States has done to the Iraqis. I don’t think so. What makes you all think the people of Israel have any more control over their government than we do. How money of us were marching in the streets to stop the destruction of Iraq. And there were NO Iraqi’s acting like Hamas lobbing missiles at us. Israel is run by right wing nuts just like the US has been for most of the last 30 years. Don’t blame the citizens, blame their government.
December 29th, 2008 at 10:35 pmAccording to America’s main stream media, the Jews in Israel are the victims in this conflict. There are hundreds of Palestinian men, women, and children lying dead in the streets of their refugee/concentration camp. There are rivers of blood in the streets of Gaza.
Is America’s main stream media defending Israel because all of our news organizations are owned by Jews?
December 29th, 2008 at 10:44 pmTo Celynch:
You ponder why we hate Bush so much? Well, let me explain. You trolls hate Bill Clinton with so much passion because he had oral sex with Monica and he lied about it. Since Bill didn’t penetrate Monica, his sperm was wasted and you consider it as abortioin hence, he killed an unborn child, which is a mortal sin.
We hate Bush because he lied about the WMD’s in Iraq, invaded Iraq instead of Afghanistan, and ended up over 4k US Soldiers dead. I would not mention that over 100k iraqis have perished because of the war since you neocons do not count Iraqis as human beings. You claim that Saddam killed thousands of his own people but Bush’s unecessary war also killed hundreds and thousands of Iraqi civilians.
Do you now see why we hate Bush? We sure do know why you neoconic hypocrites hate Clinton. Oh.. I get it. I think it’s because talks to God, and that makes him a prophet? LOL! Your idiocy is unbelievable and your hypocrisy is unequal.
December 29th, 2008 at 10:49 pmFurs,
YOu are a certified Limbaugh/hannity dittohead. Bush kept us safe after 9/11? Ummm… didn’t 9/11 happen on Bush’s watch? What a troll, lol!
December 29th, 2008 at 10:51 pmHere’s another facts for the neocon trolls:
1. The first WTC attack happened during the Clinton Presidency
2. He kept us safe since that attack
3. The 9/11 attack happened during Dubya’s presidency, despite documented warnings about a potential attack by terrorists with the use of airplanes.
4. Bush kept us safe after 9/11.. which is true but…
5. We invaded the wrong country, and Bin Laden is still at large.
6. Over a hundred thousand Iraqi civilians died, include US soldiers
No matter how you neocondriacs spin it, the jury is out that Bush is the worst president ever. Need I mention the economic meltdown due to deregulation? Oh.. I get it, you will blame the deregulation on Carter, and proclaim that the rethugs have always been in favor of regulation? LOL! You are a bunch of pathetic idiots
December 29th, 2008 at 11:08 pmbush lacks the abitity to govern an entire county but yet at the same time he shows the entire world that you dont have to have brains to work for the goverment so anyone can run for the white house. But what he did for 911 was good he did protect us .
December 29th, 2008 at 11:28 pmYou people are complete and utter idiots. You’re so convinced that everything GWB does is wrong that you fail to see how inept your arguments are.
In Iraq and Afghanistan, you think GWB is meddling in civil wars he should stay out of. But when he stays out of a war between Israel and the Palestinians, you mock him.
Does that really make sense to you? Are you so blinded by your groupthink that you just jump on the bandwagon to berate GWB at any chance you can?
Do you really think Obama is going to be any different? He’s already proved that he’s only out for himself. He’s mocked small-town folks to impress city folks, and vice-versa. He’s cozied up to gays to get their votes, and then picked someone that gays can’t stand to deliver the blessing at his inauguration.
I’ll be curious to see if you all turn your bile toward Obama, or just continue to blame conservatives for the country’s problems, and blindly follow Obama.
Your mindless Bush-bashing is a symptom of a larger problem in this country, and it scares the hell out of me that it’s become acceptable to be an idiot.
December 29th, 2008 at 11:28 pmBush knows that he’s the worst president ever. So, the only thing the loser can do now is to go on vacation, as his brain has always been permanently “on vacation”.
This is what we get for allowing an arrogant spoiled brat to occupy the White House. In fact, Bush isn’t qualified for cleaning my toilet, let alone being the president!
December 29th, 2008 at 11:37 pmAny one who insists on backing the world’s biggest loser and an international terrorist named George W. Bush is nothing but a loser him/herself. The only place Bush deserves to go is hell.
December 29th, 2008 at 11:41 pmWhat scares the hell out of me, penbeatssword is the 23% who still support Bush. It’s sad, too. Most actually think that he cares a whit about them.
The Republican party could probably brand itself as the party of robber barons, sycophants, and enablers without losing many points.
December 29th, 2008 at 11:41 pmTo Penbeatsword:
You are utterly idiotic. We all know that Bush would not dare attack the Palestinians. What we are saying is he’d rather go on vacation undisturbed instead of engaging/encourating the Palestinians and Israel to settle their differences. I know full well that it’s a lost cause but at least he has to show that he’s committed to the peace process instead of vacationing.
At least Obama is reaching out to the conservatives while bush is definitely a divider.
By the way, you neocondriac hypocrites have been blaming the Clintons for the past 16 years! It’s amazing how idiotic you neocondriacs are, and downright scary.
By the way, it is a fact that a majority of Americans (including liberals) were behind Bush right after 9/11. He did show leadearship, despite his misgivings, but again.. he attacked the wrong country by lying to the american people about Saddam’s non-existent WMD’s.
I guess you are scared by Bill Clinton’s lie, and you worship bush’s lies? Tell me, are you really that stupid?
December 29th, 2008 at 11:46 pmOne more thing for the neocon sycophants. You’re all for laissez faire economics, which is akin to Darwinism yet you support creationism and you proclaim yourselves to be Christians.
If Jesus were with us today, I mean in the flesh, do you really think he would support the economic theory of survival of the fittest? Get a brain, will ya.. or at least try not to be a bunch of hypocritical turds, lol
December 29th, 2008 at 11:49 pmNumber 1: The rhetoric that Bush protected us on 9/11 is ridiculous. He was told on the way to the school that the first plane hit the WTC. He sat frozen when he was told the second plane hit the WTC. He flew to Missouri (?) and hid in a bunker. They did not shoot down a single plane, even though they had one hour and forty minutes to do so. He ignored the pre-9/11 warnings. Read Richard Clarke’s book.
Number 2: Bill Clinton did not lie. He used the prosecutors’ definition of “sexual relations” which did not include what he and Monica did. That is why many Republicans voted NOT GUILTY! Zero US troops died under Clinton and the Republicans squealed when he attacked al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:01 amTo Keith:
The Republicans cried Wag the dog when clinton attacked the Al Qaeda camps because the most important issue at that time was Monica giving Bill a BJ – which is un-christian. To them sexual morality is far more important than killing Bin Laden.
It is equally important to them to attack Iraq because Saddam was behind the 9/11 attack, lol. Are you still surprised by the neocon’s stupidity and hypocrisy?
December 30th, 2008 at 12:08 amSo Bush is in Crawford…he has phones there, just like in DC. He’s not perfect, but I don’t think he deserves to be blamed for every single negative thing that happens here…can one man really have that much control? I remember when liberals used to practice random acts of kindness…now it seems so many of them are just full of hate. Where’s the love? Where’s the forgiveness? Where’s the respect for all individuals?
December 30th, 2008 at 12:08 amChrist on a crutch!! Just be grateful he did not do something this time. Everything he touches turns to dust. He has no middle east policy. Other than war and more war.
No one in the middle east listens to Bush anymore. No one. He is a lame duck, in more ways than one.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:09 amRenel C: You admit that encouraging Israel and Palestine to settle their differences is a lost cause, yet you insist that GWB still needs to do it? And he’s the idiot?
And where did I say anything about Clinton? Can you stick to the discussion, please?
December 30th, 2008 at 12:10 amPS To Keith:
Don’t bother telling these trolls to read Richard Clarke’s book. They would rather listen to limbaugh and hannity to get their so called facts.
Many of these idiots cannot read or, if they can read they are not able to comprehend, or they simply hate getting the facts, lol
December 30th, 2008 at 12:12 amRenel C, I read all of Jesus’ teachings and there was nothing opposing BJ’s.
doinright Says:
can one man really have that much control?
Since we give them billions of dollars every year and sell them weapons—-yes the US does have control over them if we want. Problem is, Bush totally agrees with their killing of innocent civilians. When weapons we sell are used to kill innocent civilians, it is a violation of our U.S. Arms Control Export and Foreign Assistance Act.
penbeatssword, I want peace and diplomacy in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Gaza, Israel, etc., etc. There is nothing inconsistent in my arguments. You might want to look at your own positions—–especially with a name like “penbeatssword”!
December 30th, 2008 at 12:34 amTo penbeatssword:
Yes, I did say that Bush should have shown his leadership and committment to the middle east peace process despite the fact that Israelites and Palestinians will not stop killing each other. At least he tried as the leader of the free world, and he’ll be seen as committed to the peace process. That’s what a leader should be.. at least in my book. Did he not also say that he is committed in the mid east peace accord? How could you portray yourself as committed when you’d rather go on vacation and not say anything about the crisis? Is the presidential?
As for Clinton, I apologize. I was directing that comment to the trolls who still blame Clinton after 16 years, lol. Heck, they blamed Clinton on the 9/11 attacks and the economic meltdown.
By the way, wasn’t also Bush on vacation during Katrina, and the rethugs blame the Hurricane and the Katrina victims claiming that they didn’t leave when asked to do so hence, they should suffer?
You conservatives are truly compassionate and wise, aren’t ya? lol
December 30th, 2008 at 12:39 amTo doinright:
Me thinks penbeatssword is a soldier of God, lol! His mantra is “kill their leaders (muslim leaders) and convert them to christianity”. Sound familiar? hehehe
December 30th, 2008 at 12:41 amPS to doinright:
I forgot. The conservative’s notion of attaining peace is through war. To them, diplomacy is for wussies. Who cares about thousands of civilian casualties? They refer to them as collateral damage, as if their lives do not count because they are not christians.
These neocons give Christians a bad name.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:44 amKeith:
Then you must be reading the bible incorrectly. The bible forbids impure thoughts (i.e. pre-marital sex, BJ, threesomes, gay sex, animal sex, insect sex, et al). Also, I am most certain that 80% of these so called bible thumping, god fearing christians have had pre-marital sex but they do not deem it as “sin” because they accepted jesus as their personal saviour.
Pre-marital sex is immoral only to the non-believers, lol.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:47 amWe need a Prez that will just do what needs to be done and just turn the Middle East into a sheet of glass.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:51 amWhat else can you expect from a dumb ass President. His vacation is more important than innocent people’s lives. I am sure Cheney must not have given him the green light to say anything. He probably doesn’t even realize that he is the President and his Vice-President works for him. Gosh !! Can’t wait for Jan 20th 2009. I am ashamed to say we americans elected him twice..sorry once (2nd term). He is probably happy thinking it is his God’s will to get rid of the people who don’t believe in his faith. Not the incoming president will be any different w.r.t policies towards the occupied people of palestine.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:53 amto doinitright:
Huh? We liberals still encourage random acts of kindness and compassion. Our hearts still bleed. We are for protecting laborers from unfair labor practice, we are for helping the poor, we are against the Iraq war – which had nothing to do with the 9/11 attack.
Hating Bush doesn’t mean we’re mean. We hate Bush for what he had done to our country, and for the lost lives in the Iraq war.
On the other hand, you guys hate Clinton for getting a BJ, lol. You are way too stupid, my friend, hehehe.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:53 amWhat possible purpose could all these responses serve other that to reinforce beliefs already held. This website offers not a single challenge to it’s status quo. You might as well put MSNBC on a loop
December 30th, 2008 at 12:54 amDo you know why so many people hate Clinton for gettng a Hummer in the Oval Office. It is because they are jealous he has such a great sex life.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:57 amAnother thought for doinitright:
Since when did the conservatives practice random acts of kindness? You turds are for deregulation, against school lunch, against public schools, against welfare for the poor but are for corporate welfare, against labor unions but pro big corporatons, against tax increase but favor tax cuts for the rich, against muslims because you see them all as terrorists and to you, the Koran is filled with violence.
The only things you’re compassionate about are abortions and the second ammendment, lol.
December 30th, 2008 at 12:59 amI still say they need to nuke the Middle East.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:01 amThe man is performing a service.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:01 amthe above makes my point very nicely. Nice to call others turds. Classy
December 30th, 2008 at 1:02 amdavid909:
Did you mean putting foxnews into the loop? LOL. Listen, the neocons have their own blogs, so as the liberals. Oh.. how stupid of me! The internet has liberal bias! LOL!
December 30th, 2008 at 1:02 amso you think it’s better just to converse amonst yourselve, never to exchange ideas. Well, i guess that makes you feel better so enjoy.
Me, I’m moving on
December 30th, 2008 at 1:05 amTo Vodnavach:
And the liberals hate the republican perverts for having such a great GAY SEX LIFE, hahahaha! Not to mention that both Rudy and Newt got away with their philandering ways despite their RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:05 amAnother inch in the yardstick of the monumental and total failure of the Bush presidency. Just as thinking people have always suspected, this article gives testimony to the fact that Bush is a complete moron hopelessly under-qualified to be president. From day one Bush has been completely manipulated by those who actually wield the power and influence in Washington.
Bush is an arrogant, self-serving uncaring idiot who doesn’t care one iota about the military lives he’s squandered in Iraq and Afghanistan. The economy is in shambles because of his administration’s complete lack of regulatory oversight and complete sell-out to corporate and special interests.
And our image abroad among those who could help and sustain us in a difficult time is so damaged it will take years to repair.
The Bush administration makes the Harding and Hoover presidencies look like successes. Thank God the Bush nightmare will be over in less than a month.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:06 amThe Internet has Liberal Bias?? What kind of idiot are you. One the Internet i incapable of Bias as all information made available on it reflects that of it creator/submitter. And the US Media has NEVER had a bias towards Liberals. If anything it has a Conservative bias.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:06 amA total incompetent and criminal behaiviour to the end… I hope he matain this behaviour on the way to the Hague too!
December 30th, 2008 at 1:07 amGeorge Bush is scum, pure and simple. I tend to agree that he deserves a lot of blame for a lot of things. I am not quite sure what he could do at this point even if he wanted to about this situation though. He has 3 weeks left and no one in the middle east cares about what he says anyway.
The other thing is that I would like to know what exactly some of you suggest the Isrealis do about rockets being launched from Gaza? If they are doing the wrong thing, then what exactly is the right thing? Ignore it? If someone kept punching you in the face and you asked them to stop but they didn’t, what would you do? If they wouldn’t talk and listen to reason? Just keep letting them punch you? Would you just hit them back once lightly and wait to see if that worked? or would you kick the crap out of them so they will think twice before doing it again?
Hamas will never really give up no matter what you offer them or how “fair” you are to them. If the Isrealis withdrew to 1967 borders do you think Hamas would stop? I doubt it.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:07 amTHE CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS CAN BE DIRECTLY TRACED TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY FOR WANTING ANY HOMELESS PERSON WITH A PULSE TO BE ABLE TO OWN A HOME.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:08 amdavid909:
But the neocons are way classier than us liberals. I mean calling us unpatriotic because we opposed Bush’s war? I recall that they also referred to us as traitors? David, I do know that being a hypocrite is a tough one. I know that the neocons can’t help being hypocrites, it’s in their blood, lol
December 30th, 2008 at 1:08 amYou know Renel, If you are going to be insulting you can at least get the names right. And if you will check your information first you would discover it is the Consevative Republicans who are getting busted for being Gay.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:09 amOOPS!, It would seem I need to to follow my own advice.I read the message incorrectly.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:11 amJBrook:
I heard that talking points from Limbaugh, lol. Here’s a deal for you. If you can support your claim that the dems wanted the homeless to buy a home. You see, you are blinded with stupidity. You don’t do your own research and you just parrott what the idiotic right wing turds say.
I had a friend who was a conservative. When I asked her what books she reads, her response was “I don’t read books. I just listen to conservative radio because they give me all the facts”.
I believe you’re one of them? LOL!
December 30th, 2008 at 1:11 amVodnavich:

December 30th, 2008 at 1:12 amRenel C.
I wish you a lot of luck.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:12 amI see that there are a few dwindling idiots who still want to ‘defend’ Bush the Moron. These people fall into the following categories:
1. Christians whose hearts worship money while their mouths proclaim “God”. These hypocrites go to church in super-size SUV while preaching social responsibility. They would fight passionately against abortion but are perfect happy with killing the children in Iraq.
2. Those with lots of money and endless desire for more. These are the same kind of animal species that Bernard Madoff belongs to.
3. Those who complain about social welfare but promote and support corporate welfare (tax cuts to mega corporations and looting of national treasure through “bail-outs”.
4. Those with IQ below the numbers of their fingers.
5. Those who walk around with hatred for “colored people” like Obama. These are the same kind David Duke would call “friends”.
6. Those whose minds are “tuned” to Fox News frequency: the frequency of lies and deception. These are the same idiots who worship Rush Limbaugh.
7. Those with intelligence level equal that of Sarah Palin.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:13 amPLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE CATHOLICS WITH PROTESTANTS WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT RELIGION. WORLDS APART BOTH CHRISTIAN.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:15 amHas anyone eer noticed that Conservatives are idiots? The blame the poor and disabled for their miserable lot in life. Maybe they need to look at the screw up Republicans. Who ake our money and then piss it down the drain. The Fed actually has allowed foriegn companies to buy us out. The deal with the Auto manfacturers is totally messed up. We give the car companies money so that they can keep foriegn plants open and open more and close thir domestic plants. I would have told thecar companies brin all you manufacturing back into the US or NO DEAL.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:16 amVodnavich:
I don’t believe that the media has liberal or conservative bias. Just look at history. WHen Carter was president, the media was all over him. The same goes with Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, and now Bush Jr.
When people say that the media is baised, left or right, then you know the media is doing something right.
There is one point I’d like to make though. There are networks that are biased namely Foxnews and MSNBC. But in general, the media is not biased.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:17 amYa, and both idiots. The only real difference is that Catholics are Idol Worshipping idiots

December 30th, 2008 at 1:21 amThen again FOX, in my area at least, is also racist. When Barack Obama won the nomination the newscaster actually referred to him as the Black Obama.

December 30th, 2008 at 1:24 amFine but it is getting annoying.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:25 amThe conservative right wing immature extremists, a.k.a, the Republicans, always look for someone or something else to blame for their own screw-ups. This is nothing new. It’s an inherent characteristic of those who are ‘proud’ supporters of a failed Bush administration.
Launching a war based on lies is what Bush will go down in history with. The war has cost American people over 600 billion dollars and the mess keeps growing. Bush’s only “mission accomplished” is the success of corporate criminals who have looted national treasures.
The nation is in far worse shape than ever before. The world has lost respect for the US. The US dollar has been shamefully devalued during Bush’s tenure in the White House.
The list goes on and on, enough to put the bastard in jail for life. But yet, the spineless congress seems to be crippled at the shadow of evil led by Dick Cheney.

December 30th, 2008 at 1:27 ami like Bush…..you all just like to blame people…for years we “went to war for oil” and you all said it so much until other countries believed it too, and they all got mad at america cause we “went to war for oil” meanwhile oilprices are steady rising and destroying our economy……….no of you know what the hell your talking about, and you just want it to be Bushs fault, so you dont have to look someone in the eye and accept peopel are dying because we as a country made choices…….people are dying in iraq….that sucks…it sucks to lose someone you love…it sucks to have to worry everyday for the peopel you love…none of you know a godamn thing about war, or even why to fight it….your just ashamed…..and why? a hundred years ago we stayed out of other people business everywhere…….war was everywhere….peopel said it will never end…..60 years ago a guy named Hitler came about and started a war….lot of people died…we stayed out of it….until ALOT of people died……when all of you think about WWII, you think poor jewish people….Hitler killed 11 million people….6 million were jewish…..5 million forgotten people and thats kinda sad…..but the US had to get into it..and here we are now….60 years later and there is actually peace in Europe….where there had always been war, and now it is damn near one united country……you all see the peopl who die in Iraq and your ashamed……….im proud to be an american, we we go make a real difference in the world……you say we dont understand thier polotics…..i say they dont understand thier own politics……you say we should stay out of it………..until when?,,,,when thier weapons are so much more advance and the death toll on both sides will be as high as WWII……none of you know what your talking about…..your just ashamed
December 30th, 2008 at 1:30 amYa, Clinton did a really bad job, uh huh sure, He only took a failing economy and turned it around so that another Bush could screw it u again. But ya he was a bad president. All Republicans should feel ashamed to have voted him into office not once but twice. I mean come on couldn’t you tell this would happen. I mean just look at the “great job his Dad did.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:30 amJbrook:
I knew you would blame clinton for 9/11. Typical dittohead idiot, lol. Tell me something, why did you neocon hypocrites bashed clinton when he attacked the al qaeda headquarters in trying to kill Bin Laden? You cried Wag the dog, didn’t ya?
You put a priority on Clinton’s BJ instead. Second, it is a fact that there was a warning to Bush that al qaeda was planning an attack against the US. What did Bush do? Absolutely nothing! Had he done something and failed, he wouldn’t be blamed for it because at least he tried. Just like Clinton, he failed but at least he tried. Bush did not even try!
Gosh… can’t you come up with your own thought instead of parroting Limbaugh and Hannity? All your talking points are utterly stupid. Are you even capable of logic? LOL
December 30th, 2008 at 1:31 amWe did go to war fr Oil actually we wne tto War to protct the Bush family’s bank accounts and to protect their interests in the Middle East.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:32 amRenny,
“your hypocrisy knows no bounds” WTF
Easy pal, just trying to have a little chat here
December 30th, 2008 at 1:32 amIf you actually like Bush you should be really ashamed of yourself.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:33 amTo someone:
Saddam’s WMD’s were eliminated during the early 90s. WHatever was left wasn’t effective because the shelf life of those WMD’s had expired.
Saddam posed no threat to the United States. By the way, during wwII, we attacked the real enemies, Japan and Germany. WHen we were attacked by AL Qaeda, we attacked Iraq. How stupid can you be?
December 30th, 2008 at 1:34 am“jbrook” signs his name as “MORON”. That’s very appropriate for one who defend the world’s biggest moron: George W. Bush.
For some strange reason, morons like jbrook find ways to get 9 when they add 2 and 2 together. They have absolutely no ability to reason nor capable of rational thinking. But then again, this explains why they support the miserable failure: G. W. Bush.
There have been plenty strong evidence that the Bush administration ignored stern warning from intelligence community about the imminent attacks as we saw on 9/11/01. Condi Rice testified before congress on April 8 2004 that the warning was viewed by the Bush administration only as “a historical document”!
So either the Bush administration is the most incompetent government ever exists or it was colluding with the attackers to serve their own agenda, which as we later found out: an invasion against an oil-rich nation that did not attack us!
After all that, even a retarded dog would have seen that the Bush administration and the entire GOP is bogus. Yet, we still see insects like jbrook sharing our precious fresh air.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:36 amI still say nuke the Middle east who needs them.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:36 amnanlichi Says:
“….. whereas President Barack Obama is disrespected because he was born with that unfortunate skin color.”
I find this comment absolutely amusing. From a political party that considers themselves so much more progressive. Seriously you might have worded this statement wrong but your thoughts show through your text.
To the guy who said Jimmy Carter was able to broker a “lasting peace” with Israel and Egypt. Of course that happened.. Israel handed Egypt their butt on a platter militarily. (thanks to the U.S. help with hardware) Had we not given them hardware Israel would have perished and the Middle East would be worse off than it is today.
We should all consider ourselves lucky to have not been born into a country or situation like the middle east. These people have been hating each other so long they learn hate from the minute they are born. Most of them don’t even know any better. MOST of them just want peace in they’re life and for they’re families lives.
Rodney King said it best y’all

December 30th, 2008 at 1:42 amAllow me to get this straight:
December 30th, 2008 at 1:42 amOne Israeli gets killed, so they kill 300….and we are supporting them? Aren’t we supposed to be fighting terrorism over there, not helping it along? Palestinians get pushed to a small strip of land by invading refugees, starved, murdered and attacked by the rest of the world and there are people still taking Israel’s side on this? I say we replace the Israeli leader with one who actually wants peace. Before I get anti-Semitic rantings aimed at me, my family is Jewish so that’s not it. But they are wrong here, plain and simple. All I know is I’m counting down the days until 20 Jan when someone not quite so stupid can take over. I can’t imagine Obama being happy about the fact that he can’t do anything until then.
Oh come on they’ve only hated each other for approxiamtely 3000 years. But then again My people did leave Israel and then wanted “our” land back why isn’t that fair. If “we” wanted it we should have never left. I say we but I can’t find proof that my ancestors actually ever stepped on the soil there. But then again I am an Zionism hating Jew. But then again I think Zionist are full of you know what. They beleive all Jews should return to Israel. How Xenophobic can you get.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:42 amHoneygreen:
Didn’t you notice that Jbrook only attacked you but not your argument? And he had the nerve to say that you have no clue whereas it is obvious that he’s the clueless idiot? LOL!

December 30th, 2008 at 1:47 amThis from DemocracyNow interview on Israeli War Crimes and US’s cumplicity:
Dec 30
ALI ABUNIMAH: I want to say, Amy, first of all, that we have to go back to the Warsaw Ghetto or Guernica to find crimes in the modern era of the scale of the viciousness and of the deliberateness of what Israel is committing with the full support of the United States, not just the Bush administration, but apparently as well the incoming Obama administration. We have to recognize the complicity not just of the so-called international community, but also of the Arab regimes, Egypt, President Hosni Mubarak, the Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit of Egypt. Tzipi Livni, when she issued her threats against Gaza, was in Cairo in the biggest Arab capital, and Aboul Gheit stood next to her silently.
Mahmoud Abbas is not a bystander, the so-called president of the Palestinian Authority. For two years since the elections, which Hamas won, he and his coterie have been collaborating with Israel and the United States, first to overthrow the election result and then to besiege Gaza. We have talked before of the Palestinian Contras, funded and armed by the United States, which sought to overthrow Hamas in June 2007 and had the tables turned on them. And now this. The complicity of Mahmoud Abbas is very clear and must be clearly stated. He does not have the authority, moral or otherwise, to call together the Palestinian people for anything. He has gone over to the other side. He has joined the Israeli war against the Palestinian people, and I choose my words very carefully.
And let me say this, as well, Amy, that Israel is trying to produce and promote the fiction that it is engaged in a war with a so-called enemy entity. What Israel is doing is massacring a captive population. You heard—you said in the headlines how Nancy Pelosi, our so-called progressive, liberal, antiwar Speaker of the House, gave her full support to these crimes. Obama has done the same through a spokesman. And that will not change. The United Nations issued a weak statement aimed at covering the backsides, let me say, of those who issued it, not aimed at changing the situation.
What are Palestinians calling for today? Yesterday, the Palestinian National Committee for the Campaign for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions reissued and reaffirmed its call on all international civil society in the United States, in North America, in Europe, everywhere, to redouble the efforts for boycott, divestment and sanctions modeled on the anti-apartheid movement. This is necessary. This is moral. This is the nonviolent resistance we can all participate in. And it is more urgent than ever. Let’s not look back at these crimes like we look at the Warsaw Ghetto and like we look at Guernica and we look at the other atrocities of the twentieth century and say, “We had the chance to act, but we chose silence and complicity.” The time to stop this is now.
And we also have to be clear that those who are accountable—Ehud Barak, his orders over the past few months to withhold insulin, chemotherapy drugs, dialysis supplies, all forms of medicine from the people of Gaza, were just as lethal and just as murderous as the orders to send in the bombers and warplanes to attack mosques, to attack universities. The Islamic University in Gaza is not a military site. It is a university with 18,000 students, 60 percent of them women. Last night, Israeli warplanes attacked a female dormitory in the Islamic University. This is what Israel is attacking. They attacked the fishing port. No food gets into Gaza. People can barely fish enough to sustain them, and Israel has attacked the fishing boats that sustains them. These are historic crimes, and we cannot be silent about them.
And we have to continue this nonsense that there’s fault on both sides. We have a captive occupied population. 80 percent of the people in the Gaza Strip are refugees. 750,000 of them are children. Where else in the world can these crimes be committed while the world looks on, while our elected politicians in Congress, Democrats and Republicans, sit there applauding, when you see the shameful statement of Howard Berman, the Democrat chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, giving his full support to Israel? People have to stand up to this. We cannot sit on our hands anymore and say change is coming. Change is not coming unless we create it.

Vdnovich:
I am being facetious hence, I can’t get your name right, LOL! Nite Dude, and nite to you all, including the neocons, hehehe. We may disagree with each other, and often call each other names, but we’re still are americans. When Obama becomes president on January 20, and you trolls bash him for invading afghanistan, trust me, I woudn’t call you unpatriotic. In fact, I’ll refer to you trolls as patriotic because in a democracy, every person has a right to voice their opinions, rightly or wrongly, but that doesn’t make them less patriotic.
But I do plead that some of you neocons get some kind of ejumication (pun intended) or at least half a brain, lol! Kidding! Sheesh! Night folks!
December 30th, 2008 at 1:52 amRenel C:
I would expect nothing less from jbrook. Irrational thinking and inability to follow any logic are inherent characteristics of typical right wing losers.
The problem now is the nation is in deep doodoo, but people like jbrook still see potential RESCUERS like Obama as their “enemies”. They insist on holding on to a sinking boat and refuse to be rescued just because the rescuer happens to be non-white!
December 30th, 2008 at 1:54 amLET ME COUNT THE NUMBER OF WAYS THAT I CAN ATTACK YOU ARGUMENT.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:56 amNUMBER ONE WITH HONEYGREEN WHILE IT IS GOOD TO HAVE A DOLLAR THAT IS MORE VALUBLE THAN OTHER CURRENCY IT HAS BEEN STRONG EXPORTS OVER THE LAST EIGHTEEN MONTHS THAT HAS KEPT THIS COUNTRY GOING AND THAT WAS BECAUSE FOREIGNERS COULD GET MORE FOR THEIR MONEY HERE. IT IS A VERY COMPLICATED ISSUE THAT YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO COMMENT ON.
AS FOR RENEL C. AND HIS COMMENTS ON THE WAR.
NUMBER ONE SADDAM HAD TO GO PERIOD. ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS COMPLY WITH UN INSPECTORS AND FOR TEN YEARS HE WOULD NOT SO IF THE UN WILL NOT UPHOLD THEIR OWN SANCTIONS I GUESS THE U.S., THE COUNTRY THAT GIVES MORE MONEY THAN ALL OTHER COUNTRIES COMBINED TO THE UN UPHOLD THEIR SANCTIONS FOR THEM.
Ok, first off you have to wonder abut a site that doesn’t know how to spell, Secondly Israel has committed no War Crimes, it is perfectly legal to do Anything as long as it is to protect a country’s current Government from n outside threat. Israel is the LEGAL gov’t. The Palestinians are a Terrorist group. As defined by International Law
December 30th, 2008 at 1:56 amWhat right do we the American people have to tell a Foriegn Leader how to run his country. Saddam may have been a piece of you know what but he was that countried rightful Leader. We invaded his country and that is a Crime.
December 30th, 2008 at 1:57 amAnd once again I return to my previous statement we should nuke the Middle East. There would then be no more War there.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:01 amJbrook:
Tell me, why did Saddam had to go? You can’t simply say Saddam had to go period without justifying your stance. Here is a fact for you. There was no YELLOWCAKE in SUDAN that Saddam allegedly wanted to acquire. It is a FACT!
Second, it was obvious from the very start that Saddam was just Bluffing, and Bush had to be pretty freaking stupid not to know the bluff.
We attacked Iraq based on a LIE, and that is a fact. You see your stupidity here? I gave you the facts yet you stick with your ideology and the talking points of the right wing idiots. I implore you to please get a brain.. even just a half a brain, LOL!
Here’s another one. Give me PROOF that Saddam was a DIRECT THREAT to the United States. Show me proof that he had WMD’s and capable of attacking the US mainland!
Ummm.. I guess you’ll still stick to your twisted ideologies, eh? LOL! You are a neocon scum. A brainless dweeb, lol
December 30th, 2008 at 2:02 amanother one for JBrook:
What did you day? It is good that foreigners can get more for their money here (The U.S)? Are you totally nuts? You do support the notion that foreign businesses will one day own American businesses?
I suppose you don’t believe in fair trade? I am all for free trade but it has to be fair. You idiots are for free trade even if we lose milliions of jobs and our companies are owned by foreigners?
Geesh… you really are scary. Stupidity can get really scary, lol.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:06 amThe most fortunate thing for Bush and his Neo-con cronies is the fact the current congress is non-functioning or mal-functioning. With now majority, the spineless Dumbocrats lead by a bimbo named Nancy Pelosi have proved to be ineffective in bringing justice to criminals like Bush and Cheney.
It’s no wonder the US has lost its standing in the world power and is heading straight to the avenue of disgrace and defeat. All thanks to both DumboRATS and Repugnicunts. The nation needs a party that upholds the constitution and democratic values and respect individual liberty and TRUTH!
Until then, the US of A might as well behave like a corporation waiting to file Chapter 11 as it’s run by a bunch of incompetent clueless and greedy managers.

Don’t fess. Jbrook couldn’t get his stupidity right even if RIGHT hits him on his way out, LOL!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:11 amHONEYGREEN I AM FAR TOO INTELLIGENT TO BE ARGUING WITH YOU.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:12 amBY THE WAY WHEN I AM NOT SURE HOW TO SPELL A WORD I USE A WEBSTER’S DICTIONARY THATS D-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-R-Y
Honeygreen:
The way I see it, Jbrook is an expert in ad hominem, lol. Just look at his grammar. I am running out of breath just by reading his posts, lol!
I guess this troll haven’t heard of punctuations, hahahaha!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:14 amNo worries, Renel. I haven’t read a word by “jbrook.” The ALL CAPS is a signal to scroll on by…
December 30th, 2008 at 2:16 amBY THE WAY IT WAS DEFINATELY NOT THE BJ IN THE OVAL OFFICE THAT HURT CLINTON, IF HE WAS EVEN HURT AT ALL, BUT HIS WIFE SHOULD BE UPSET SINCE THAT WAS BJ #? FROM GIRL #?
December 30th, 2008 at 2:17 amHoneygreen:
Allow me to decipher Jbrook’s last post:
” I am way too idiotically stupid to argue with you. I will pretend that I am intellectually superior to you by saying by saying stupid things. I do not want people to think that I am stupid therefore, I will say that you are not worthy of my arguments”. I also do not believe in redundancy”, hahaha!

I like your sentence structure. Tell me, you are an english major, aren’t you? LOL!
Oh, my bad. I bet that you are against public education, and you attended private schools all your life. I, on the other hand, is a product of public education.
One thing puzzles me tho, why do you write the same way you think? Hahahaha!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:21 amOk, I read ONE word. :-D
December 30th, 2008 at 2:22 amMY SUPERIORITY REQUIRES ALL CAPS
December 30th, 2008 at 2:25 amRenel and Zooey:
Let idiots like jbrook dance to their own tunes. I wouldn’t even watch them as they would eventually fall down on their own tunes. Working with Special Olympics is far more rewarding than ‘arguing’ with the deluded, brainwashed, shallow Nazi-born-again idiots who insist on siding with the nation’s most destructive enemies: Bush,Cheney, and Company.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:25 amJbrook:
I agree with you. It wasn’t BJ that hurt clinton. It was the budget surplus, strong economy, and high living standard that really hurt him, lol.
OH.. one more thing. The other thing that hurt clinton was when he attempted to kill Bin Laden. He was trying to divert the Monica BJ from his attempt to get bin laden dead or alive.
You see, Jbrook. Granted that you are clinically stupid, I can still find a common ground to agree with you, LOL!

December 30th, 2008 at 2:28 amzooey,
I beg to differ. I like to argue with the likes of Jbrook. I like playing with stupid toys, LOL! He gives me a woody, hahaha!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:31 amPS to zooey,
I won’t even try to change Jbrook. I won’t have anybody to play with if I get him to change. I need my stupid toys, LOL!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:34 amHIGH LIVING STANDARD FOR WHO. FIRST OF ALL IF YOU HAD A HIGH STANDARD OF LIVING DURING THE CLINTON YEARS THAN YOU CERTAINLY STILL HAVE ONE NOW. UNLESS OF COURSE YOU BELIEVE THAT A PRESIDENT CONTROLS YOUR DESTINY WHICH OF COURSE MOST OF YOU MORONS DO.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:35 amJbrook:
I would never say that the president control my destiny however, I can say that the president has control over economic policies which is beneficial to its citizens, and not only to big businesses and the wealthy.
What would you say to those millions of people who lost their jobs because of corporate greed and shipping jobs to other countries? How about corporate welfare and tax cuts for the wealthy?
You are not only clinically stupid; you are also a certified neocon nincompoop.
You see, jbrook, I attacked your arguments first before I attacked your stupidity, lol!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:41 amHe’s probably recovering from a hangover and doesn’t want to bother with foreign policy. World War III could break out and he doesn’t care!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:42 amone last thing for Jbrook before I go to bed:
If you ask 100 million americans this question: Are you better off today than 8 years ago?
What do you think they’d say? Hmmm… I’m sure you’d still blame Clinton’s economic policy to todays economic meltdown which is due in part by Bush’s fuzzy math. Sigh… what a useless troll. oops, I take it back. I can use a toy troll like you, lol!
December 30th, 2008 at 2:43 amDaTruth:
According to Hannity and O’Leily, WWIII started when 9/11 happened, lol.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:46 amONCE AGAIN THERE YOU GO SPITTING TRASH WITHOUT ANY REAL FACTS TO BACK IT UP. MILLIONS OF AMERICANS DID LOSE THEIR JOBS MAYBE IT WAS CORPORATE MAYBE IT WASN’T BUT IF THE POLICIES THAT WERE SET IN PLACE BY DEMOCRATS SUCH AS CHRIS DODD AND BARNEY FRANK(WHO BY THE WAY SEEMS THAT HIS NUMBER CONCERN IS LEGALIZING MARIJUANA) WANTING EVERY HOMELESS PERSON WITH A PULSE TO OWN A HOME, THINGS WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE TURNED OUT MUCH DIFFERENTLY, MUCH BETTER. WASN’T IT BILL CLINTON THAT ENACTED NAFTA SENDING JOBS TO MEXICO.
December 30th, 2008 at 2:52 amAND YOU TALK ABOUT WELFARE. YOU ARE PROBABLY TO STUPID TO KNOW THAT TOM DASCHLE THE EX SENATOR FROM SOUTH DAKOTA NOW THE NEW HEALTH SECRETARY SUPPORTS GIVING WELFARE CHECK TO RICH FARMERS WHO MAKE MORE THAN A MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR AND DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT BUSH TRIED TO PUT AN END TO THIS HE WANTED THE MONEY TO GO TO FIGHTING AIDS AND MALARIA IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES OR ARE YOU TOO STUPID?
December 30th, 2008 at 3:02 amWasn’t Palestine a territory in the Ottoman empire? Didn’t they also have a chance at their own state back in 1947 or 1948? I am not sure that Palestinians are completely innocent in this and Arab countries haven’t done much to help the situation. I say if someone kills 1, why not kill 300 of theirs? What exactly is the right degree of force?
December 30th, 2008 at 3:04 amI HAVE ONCE HEARD IT SAID THAT IT IS BETTER TO LET TEN GUILTY MEN GO FREE THAN IMPRISON ONE INNOCENT MAN. SO IF ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL IT WOULD ALSO BE BETTER TO IMPRISON TEN INNOCENT MEN THAN LET ONE GUILTY MAN BE FREE.
December 30th, 2008 at 3:49 amThey aren’t completely innocent, you’re right. But then again they are backed into a corner at this point so to speak. And the natural reaction when you are backed into a corner is to lash out….if Israel hadn’t backed them in to begin with, making the UN view them as the enemy when in fact they had more right to that land than the refugees from the second World War did, they may not have killed to begin with. Yes, there will always be religious tensions there, and that only adds to the problem. But when they are starved, slaughtered, and then see the “innocents” of society (generally speaking the women and children) come under attack for no reason, that is going far beyond the right degree. What the Israelis are doing now is at the point of genocide. And the fact that this country sanctions it makes me sick. Then again, I fully admit I don’t know as much about the situation as some of you, hence the reason I haven’t attacked anybody. lol. I’m learning a lot from everybody on here tonight………..except jbrook. lol. I already knew how to be an idiot…I’ve seen it everyday for the last 8 years.
December 30th, 2008 at 3:57 amIt is just sooo Dubya to go on vacation during a MAJOR crisis. Even if he can’t “solve” the problem, as President he’s THE voice for the entire United States, and he should be clearly vigilantly focused on the issue. Just 3 weeks left, you’d think he could AT LEAST stick it out in DC and deal with things. But noooo….yet ANOTHER vacation. Sigh.
Personally, I don’t believe that either the Israelis OR the Palestinians are handling the whole thing pragmatically. Let’s face it, Israel needed a homeland, it wanted the one it had millennia ago, the UN provided for it but in so doing it displaced Palestinians who had been living there for centuries. For Pete’s sake, WORK SOMETHING OUT ALREADY!
I have NO problem bashing Dubya, never have. As a Texan, I knew he was bogus before he even got started. He was a JOKE here, always has been…he’s failed at everything he’s ever tried. And this whole “God wanted me in the White House” crap really put a lot of us over the top.
After 9/11, he had me — all “united” and sh*t — up until “just go shopping” … and then I knew we were doomed.
Radical rightwing evangelical Christians, follow me on this: If a foreign force attacked you and took you hostage and even tortured you, and all they wanted you to say was “God is not real” or “Jesus is not divine” or “I renounce my Christian faith,” would you do it? Doesn’t (evangelical in particular) Christianity demand that you go to the death for your Christian beliefs and values and ideals? So, – transfer that level of conviction to our American beliefs and values and ideals. Why ON EARTH would we suddenly support COMPROMISING American principles like habeus corpus and the Geneva Conventions and fairness and justice and no torture (and myriad other values) all in the name of “national security”? Doesn’t that make everything my father and thousands of his comrades who fought in WW2 seem in vain? We’re not willing to die for what we believe to be principles of living that are AMERICAN and worth dying for? If you supported Bush in allowing torture and spying on Americans and arresting Americans with no right to an attorney and without even notifying that citizen’s family, aren’t you complicit in watering down what we hold DEAREST as Americans? You EAGERLY buckle to the terrorists and do exactly everything they want us to do to ourselves and our way of life?
The bogus Iraq invasion by itself will send Dubya to his own private hell. Add on Katrina and countless other examples of his oligarchical focus (his friends cleaned up financially in all of this, the war, all of it). He is loathesome and despicable.
Unfortunately, he’s coming back to live here, in Dallas, where I live. I’m one of thousands upon thousands protesting his “library” here — what a sham, just a propaganda tool for the poster boy of the height of treason.
December 30th, 2008 at 3:58 amSINCE MOST YOU FOLKS SOUND LIKE YOU AT LEAST HAVE EARS AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RETAIN CERTAIN THINGS THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE AND YOU WANT TO TRY AND FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE MIDDLE EAST TODAY YOU WILL HAVE TO DO A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF READING HISTORY OVER THE PAST THREE THOUSAND YEARS BEFORE YOU CAN FULLY AND INTELLECTUALLY EVEN BEGIN TO SPEAK ON THE ISSUE. UNTILL YOU DO THIS PLEASE STOP BECAUSE I HAVEN’T BUT IF YOU NEED A GOOD LIST OF BOOKS TO BEGIN WITH LET ME KNOW.
December 30th, 2008 at 4:14 amjbrook, I would be happy to read some books about the topic. But I don’t exactly trust which books you would list off. Someone who doesn’t know how to turn the CapsLock off on their keyboard isn’t exactly the kind of person I trust giving me reading material. Thank you for the offer, but I would prefer to go to somebody who is DEFINITELY going to give me good information and solid, factual references.
December 30th, 2008 at 4:21 amVDNovach, by that logic—we should nuke ourselves. Then no one will have any reason to attack us and all this knuckle-biting, asinine fear of Arab terrorists and rising gas prices will go away.
December 30th, 2008 at 5:13 amRegardless of who was first on the land, they need to both give up something and make a compromise. Firing rockets isn’t going to help. The Palestinians can have a state. It may not be exactly what they want and it may not be fair, but it is possible. Even if you agree the Isreali response is overly heavy handed, there is no way any country would just ignore somebody firing rockets like that. The other thing is all of those talking about women and children in Gaza, what about the women and children in Isreal who get killed by various suicide bombers, etc?
December 30th, 2008 at 5:15 amOh—lay off the all-caps, will ya’. Digital screaming is hard to read.
December 30th, 2008 at 5:16 amOh yeah—news flash—the Israeli navy rammed a free Gaza ship in international waters, causing flooding, and forcing the ship to try for the coast of Lebanon. They threatened to attack again if the ship continued toward Gaza. Fifteen people from all over the world were on the boat taking humanitarian aid to Gaza—including Cynthia McKinney.
Let’s hope they make land.
December 30th, 2008 at 5:19 amMaybe George’s higher father told him to take the vacation…for the sake of the world..lordy, there is a god!
December 30th, 2008 at 5:46 amOne thing we’ve learned from the past eight years is that conservatives don’t work very hard–at least when it comes to government work.
Reagan broke all records for vacation time. Bush II has shattered it. John McCain would probably have goofed off even more.
But it’s not just the Executive Branch. The Repubican 109th Congress showed a similar contempt for the people who paid their salaries. They worked from late Tuesday morning to around noon on Thursday. That’s probably why they managed to even do less than the infamous “Do-Nothing Congress.” If they’d been working normal hours, we probably wouldn’t have the internet anymore.
And now for something completely Bubbles:

Wasn’t Palestine a territory in the Ottoman empire? Didn’t they also have a chance at their own state back in 1947 or 1948?
At the end of WWII, Palestine had been controlled by England. Interestingly enough, up to that time, it was Jews there who were committing bombings and were the terrorists, including many who served in Israel’s government later. Palestine was turned into Israel by a U.N. resolution. They didn’t really “have a chance at their own state,” in terms of being in on the decision regarding what happened to the country they lived in.
jbrook, knock it off.
December 30th, 2008 at 10:21 amDubya has the presidential equivalent of “senioritis” and is focused only on leaving the White House for good. There is no way that he’s gonna spend even five minutes on any issue that doesn’t involve pardoning or enriching his friends.
Jan. 20th can’t come soon enough for me.

December 30th, 2008 at 12:43 pmWhat no one seems to understand here is that this is Botch’s last, Official Presidential bender. His last chance to get rip-snortin’, stinkin’ drunk on the Federal dime… we’re talkin’ Dick Cheney, shotgun-in-your-face drunk here, folks.
And NOTHING is going to interfere w/ that… no f-in’ stupid war, or anything.
Let the man drink in peace. Could he possibly make the situation better? No.
How would like to be Botch these days, and have to live with the fact that you’re widely seen as one of the biggest failures in the history of the country?

What is the next President going to do. If there is an incident he wants to sit down and have tea.
Face it Bush will go down in history on one of the most admired Presidents of all time. He has done so much good around the world!
