The Minnesota State Canvassing board has certified results showing that Al Franken has won the Minnesota Senate recount, beating Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN) by 225 votes. But the race is still “in limbo,” as the Board’s declaration “starts a seven-day clock for Coleman to file a lawsuit protesting the result” — which he has indicated he will do. Senate Republicans have said they will filibuster any attempt to seat Franken while litigation is pending.
And now it’s time to watch the GOP senators begin their 111th Congress Obstructionism.
PEACE
January 5th, 2009 at 4:11 pmCongratulations, Senator Franken!!!
Let the Republican whine fest begin….led by Norm Coleman.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:12 pmAl Franken fought for the voters to be heard and counted correctly and the people of Minnesota are fine. Are you listening Al Gore?
January 5th, 2009 at 4:14 pmWell, at least Norm Coleman realized that his early call for Al Franken to concede when Coleman had a lead of 700 votes was “hasty”.
Otherwise he’d look pretty foolish right now, suing to overturn a certified recount result.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:16 pmHow dare those Minnesotans count all of the votes!
Does Antonin Scalia know about this?
January 5th, 2009 at 4:17 pmTwo words: Woo Hoo!
Coleman should just drop out of sight. He’ll have enough on his plate when the FBI indictment comes down the pipe.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:17 pmSo, it’s a milestone that’s not a milestone. Wake me up when they’re actually done over there with figuring out who the Senator is.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:18 pmAnd now comes the lawsuit…
Something tells me this show still has a couple acts left to go.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:22 pmFranken will be beating the drum to bomb Iran before you can say Stuart Smiley. This man is a dedicated Zionist who will continue the pattern of making war against the arab nations.
He looks like a clown, but in reality he is another warmonger thirsty for goyas (non jews) to spill their blood making good on their(neocons) Project For a New American Century world plan.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:22 pm“When the president during the campaign said he was against nation building, I didn’t realize he meant our nation.”
Al Franken quote
January 5th, 2009 at 4:22 pmIn the absence of any real evidence to support this accusation, I guess we’ll just have to take your word for it, huh?

wow, I supose you have links backing up your silliness about Franken being part of PNAC?
Put them up for us to read for ourselves, or be labeled as just another untruthful troll.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:27 pmWow dsmith (d for dumb?)
January 5th, 2009 at 4:27 pmJust because “Stuart Smiley” is a Jew, and Israel is bombing the hell out of the Gaza strip, then all Jews are Zionist who advocate war?
How very bigoted of you, sir.
Well, now, of course Normie will concede – you know, for the good of Minnesota and all…
Yeah, right. And I’m the Pope.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:29 pmBest news ive heard all day.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:29 pmCongratulations, Sen. Franken. In a just world, your election against such an unworthy opponent would not have been so hard.
Please get some rest before reporting to help bail out the ship of state. Or are you already ready to go?

Pope Annie — I like it!
January 5th, 2009 at 4:31 pmNorm Coleman should take his own advice given to Democrats –
January 5th, 2009 at 4:32 pmSuck it up! Norm, you lost.
I am dumbstruck by the way a story on Tp gets mangled by transference. This has nothing to do with Jews and Zionism: it is a story about how lawyers and crooked pliticians have screwed up a simple race for a Senate seat in MN. Please stay on message or shut up.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:33 pmsnippet from 10/28/08 from The Jewish Journal:
‘Iran did come up at a recent debate. Franken said that while he would not take any option off the table, it would be a “grave mistake” to take military action against Iran and backed talks with the Iranian government.’
January 5th, 2009 at 4:34 pmYou know, Coleman just might want to save some of his campaign’s legal fund to defend himself from the FBI. It’s not like squaking into office on a technicality is going to save him from that, and every dollar spent challenging the recount is one less dollar that’s gonna keep him outta the hoosegow. Just sayin’.

Jewish lawyers? Yeah, they’re out to sacrifice our babies to the debil or something. Sounds like the same antisemitic pogrom-talk we’ve been hearing for millenia. I suspect that dsmith just linked over here from stormfront (a neo-Nazi forum).

If you’re going to be spreading cra p like this around, at least get the words correct. “Goyas” are paintings. “Goyim” is the plural for “goy”.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:45 pmBillo’s head will EXPLODE . .
A few weeks ago I heard Falafel Man say [referring to Franken] . .
“God forbid if he wins . . ”
Yup, Billo, ‘ABSENTEE BALLOTS’ count. Two words republicans never utter: VOTE EARLY . .
January 5th, 2009 at 4:52 pmA couple little corrections are in order. I live in Minnesota, voted for Al, and have followed the whole recount process very closely.
1. Ralph. The largest official lead Coleman ever had was 332 votes. Not the 660-820 that has been misleadingly injected into the debate by trolls and Reichradio.
2. The “simple” recount of @ 3,000,000 votes, which each had to be validated by election judges, was overseen by representatives from both parties. The entire process was also available as a live stream on the internet. No credible sources, including the candidates, are making any claims of fraud, wrongdoing, or corruption by “crooked politicians”.
3. The ONLY people making claims of wrongdoing are: Freepers, GoofBallers, assorted Reichradio hosts, and random trolls.
January 5th, 2009 at 4:55 pmLIBS, JUST WAIT UNTIL WE APWEEL TO THE SUPWEEME COURT AND LET SCALEE DICIDE IT!
January 5th, 2009 at 4:57 pmDon’t like the rule of law? Who exactly are the “crooked pliticiians” to which you refer?
January 5th, 2009 at 5:04 pmLushInterior Says:
Yeah and it was Stewart SMALLEY not Stewart Smiley….get your facts straight. This was a goog job done by the Dems in Minnesota nothing compared to what we pulled off in Washington state
Boo-hoo. Republicans whine and cry whenever they lose a close election, even in a state where the Secretary of State was a REPUBLICAN and verified the results. Poor babies can’t stand it when all the votes get counted.
January 5th, 2009 at 5:12 pmAre all of the trolls just hit and run now?
January 5th, 2009 at 5:16 pmI don’t know. How will we be able to tell the difference?
January 5th, 2009 at 5:22 pmGo Senator Al!
While some of the more asshat-ish GOP senators will try the filibuster, there’s little chance that it’ll succeed.
January 5th, 2009 at 5:25 pmCoulda fooled a bunch of people..
Yeah, once we get you some health care it will clear up for ya….try to avoid republicans and it will improve.
January 5th, 2009 at 5:30 pm1. What’s with the stupid troll’s obsession with SSI? Is there something wrong about collecting what one has put into the system?
2. Does the stupid troll think that ANY combination of President and Congress can do worse than the immediate past?
January 5th, 2009 at 5:31 pmMy guess is that the Lush One is another example of a “libertarian” who decided he was not a Republican right about the time Bush’s numbers started to nosedive in the wake of Katrina.
There are a LOT of people who “aren’t Republican” these days.
January 5th, 2009 at 6:07 pmRepublicans – hating voters for 30 years.
They just hate not having the vote rigged enough for them to steal an election.
Congratulations – SENATOR AL
January 5th, 2009 at 6:36 pmI wasn’t asking you, stupid troll. I don’t ask questions of pathological liars or fools.
January 5th, 2009 at 7:06 pmAll RepubliCons know is obstructionism (and lying and stealing of course).
January 5th, 2009 at 7:10 pmMaybe Dems should threaten to nuke the whole Senate and filibuster the seating of any/all Republicans. Find two or three pushover R’s who will vote with the plan in order to keep their own seats. Shouldn’t be hard to find a couple of traitors amidst that bunch. Then we’ll have a Democratic majority in the Senate of 58-2, which is proportionally about right.

So you are more comfortable being by yourself, in the company of yourself. Being at ease with oneself is usually a good thing. But you are not really legion, no matter how many different voices you hear in your own head, so “ranks” would not really apply. You are in reality ( you know the place most of us live ) are only just one insane person.

I suspect you are so incoherent that even you do not understand what you were trying to say.
Try typing in complete coherent sentences.
January 5th, 2009 at 7:15 pmTwo comments: First of all, I don’t believe it takes a “super majority” to seat a Senator, thus the Republicans threat to filibuster is an empty one. HOWEVER, our wonderful Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Reid, is making noises about “accommadating” Coleman until the litigation efforts are resolved, and that would include his voting rights! On the other hand, he wants to block Burris from being seated. What is wrong with this picture?
January 5th, 2009 at 7:26 pmIt’ll be interesting watching Sen. Franken progression.

Which means they’ll probably seat Coleman, in violation of the Constitution, and then give him a major committee chairmanship. And then issue a public apology for causing any trouble, if that’s OK.
Reid needs to learn how to let go of his ankles one of these days.
January 5th, 2009 at 8:49 pmBy goyas do you mean the descendants of the 18th-19th century Spanish Rococo and Romantic painter Francisco de Goya? Goya was a Roman Catholic, so I suppose the Goyas are technically goyish, but the plural for goy (Hebrew for nation) is goyim. Then again, goyas is not the only ignorant sounding thing in your post.
January 5th, 2009 at 10:03 pmLushInterior…where in Washington are you? I am in Snohomish County.

January 5th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
I wasn’t aware that JoKe had returned after Sen. McCain lost the election. One can only assume that he’s tired of the Redstate echo chamber and wanted to read news that wasn’t fabricated, so he came over here. Unfortunately, he’s decided to spin the news yet again.
Anyone surprised? Anyone?
January 6th, 2009 at 6:01 amJK you unbelievably ignorant troll STFU
January 6th, 2009 at 6:53 amJohn Kerry Says:
HA!!

Wake up libs!
Coleman will be the winner.
January 5th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
HO!
What is it about this particular story that we don’t know?
I am awake now, thank you.
On what do you base this assertion, that Coleman will be the winner?
Do you have anything of substance to add to the discussion this time, or are you doing your usual drive-by trolling?
January 6th, 2009 at 8:04 amdsmith – Al Franken looks like a clown and Norm Coleman looks like George Clooney. Right?? Just exactly what do looks have to do with it?
