Obama must have offended Bush in some way for Bush to snub him like this.

But it's not like this is anything new. World leaders can be more childish than children sometimes, not matter what their political affiliations and ideologies are.

Ceejae, thoe are all good points. Before 9-11, some FBI agents were frustrated because they were told to "back off" from some of their investigations into the Bin Laden family.

Why was this? It's simple - the Bush and the Bin Ladens have an old family history, dating back to the 70's when the Bin Ladens invested into George W. Bush's first business.

Also, folks seem to forget about the BCCI, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, which is an interesting story unto itself. This bank, which was set up during the 80's, was ultimately dismantled because it was being used by terrorists and drug kingpins and cartels for money laundering. Who was involved with the investigation that led to its demise in the early 90's? John Kerry.

What did Osama Bin Laden, the Bush family, and even Saddam Husein all have in common? They all had accounts with this bank.

Even when Kerry was investigating this bank, which went on for several years in spite of pressure to back off his investigation, George W. Bush was conducting business with the bank.

This isn't conspiracy - it is a matter of public record. The demise of this bank was seen as a major blow against both international terrorism and South American drug cartels.

The irony is that, while sen. Kerry, through his dogged determination, helped to take down one of the major banking and laundering institutions for scum of the world, people, in the 2004 election, were calling him "soft on terror."

Most folks have probably never heard of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, either. This particular story has been lost in the memory hole, along with other events.

What does this mean? I have no idea, but I will say this: before these right-wingers start blaming Clinton for the Bush administration's mess, maybe they also need to look even deeper for events that took place much earlier.

Rightsidecj, thank the Lord your kind are a dying breed.

Seriously - "darkies"?

So, yes, go ahead - mash your keyboard. Utter whatever stupendously moronic statement dribbles from your small, pea-like brain. It's a free country, and we are free to laugh at your ignorance,

So here it is. Ha ha ha!

Yeah, as if your lame arse really cares about "decent, hardworking people."

The Only reason that Baculus and the rest of the commie tratiors like Bill "The Wigger"Clinton is that under his administration, The Darkies and the rest of This societies Trash got a free hand out and then went and bought Crack with it at the expense of decent Hard Working Americans.

Its obvious to me that the outgoing administration has shown what the “rich and powerful” think of a black man becoming President of the United States.
If this isn’t telling President-Elect Obama to go sit in the back of the bus I don’t what else it could be.
I am a life long Republican who faced with a choice of McCain/Obama voted for Obama. After McCain first failed attempt at gaining the presidency he joind with Joe Lieberman to try to restrict the gun rights of honest americans. I’v never trusted him since.
Go Obama, show the world what an honest man can accomplish!

Some of you posters continue to contend that Bill Clinton could have gotten Bin Laden and failed to do so. Have all of you forgotten, the Marine Unit that came back from Afghanistan and stated that they HAD Bin Laden, they were only a couple of miles away from Bin Ladens camps, had verified that he was actually there and moved forward to capture him, and suddenly they were given orders from their immediate Superiors to pull back and return to base and those superiors got their DIRECT ORDERS from Rumsfeld who got his orders from GW Bush. Did you also forget when ABSOLUTELY NO-ONE was allowed to fly after 9/11- GW BUSH arranged for safe travel for Bin Laden's Family out of the US. Did you also forget that Bin Laden and Bush were friends and went to school together - GW Bush had ample opportunities to get Bin Laden and REFUSED to do so. In fact after 9/11 Bush IMPLIED REPEATEDLY that Saddamm Hussein WAS responsible for 9/11 to PROTECT his family friend Bin Laden. Furthermore, GW Bush made the statement on National TV REPEATEDLY that "We are not looking for Bin Laden". He was more interested in lying to get into Iraq for the OIL and over 4500 of our children died for that LIE. Some day when you are ready for the truth seek out an autobiography on G.W. Bush and you will find pictures of him and Bin Laden together.

BTW, Spooning_leads24kin, we have zero evidence that Coulter was "banned for life" from NBC. Of course, who is the source of this rumor? Coulter herself, who, most likely, fabricated the entire rumor for her benefit.

NBC *was* under fire for scheduling Coulter on her network. After all, her books are simply one hateful tirade after another and folks were a bit unhappy that the network would provide a forum for the shrill hate monger.

Nobody is obligated to provide her an opportunity to spew her garbage.

But they agreed to reschedule her interview, except, at that point, she wanted to make a drama over the entire affair.

Whatever happened to the respect that was given to the office of The President of the United States of America? Now, more than ever, we need to stick together as a nation that God has given a gift that not many other nations enjoy. We had an election, this man won and now we need to get behind him and hope we can continue to be one of the best nations in the world. We have had problems before and we overcame them. We can do it again.
Thanks, and may God continue to bless America

BTW, I did research this issue a bit further and nothing substantial could be found. I did find the below article, which has interview with the professor that graded the thesis paper.

The professor stated the following:

"My recollection is that the paper was an analysis of the evolution of the arms reduction negotiations between the Soviet Union and the United States,” Baron said in an e-mail. “At that time, a hot topic in foreign policy circles was finding a way in which each country could safely reduce the large arsenal of nuclear weapons pointed at the other … For U.S. policy makers in both political parties, the aim was not disarmament, but achieving deep reductions in the Soviet nuclear arsenal and keeping a substantial and permanent American advantage. As I remember it, the paper was about those negotiations, their tactics and chances for success. Barack got an A."

Baron said that, even if he could find a copy of the paper, it would likely disappoint Obama’s critics. “The course was not a polemical course, it was a course in decision making and how decisions got made,” he said. “None of the papers in the class were controversial."

So would it provide any political ammunition today? “I don’t think it would at all,” Baron said. “It wasn’t a position paper; it was an analysis of decision-making."

Columbia itself said, "...it never had a copy of the paper in its archives, and doesn’t today. A spokesman said that no student technically could have written a thesis in 1983, since the university didn’t even have a thesis requirement for undergraduates then."

The article continues...

"At the time Barack Obama was a student, the political science department had no mechanism by which undergraduate political science majors in Columbia College could receive recognition for writing an independent thesis,” said university spokesman Robert Hornsby. “The department's procedures for students to write theses were created in the 1990s."

Obama’s spokesman seconds that notion: “Senator Obama did not write a thesis, in fact, Columbia's political science department didn't even begin offering the option for College undergraduates to write independent credit theses until the 1990s, well after Obama had graduated."

http://deepbackground.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/07/24/1219454.aspx

Thus, at that time, a thesis wasn't even a requirement for the undergrads. So, in short, the hunt is for something that really does not exist. The closest thing to a "thesis" was that position paper which was discussed by the professor.

In short, a lot of folks are on a wild goose chase.

"Actually, if you actually did any research yourself, you would have already read the temperature index shows the overall average temperature is down a full degree. They said the currents in the ocean were slowing down, and now they are saying they are normal, give me a break and go take a “smoke” break."

This does not disprove anything I said previously.

'Clinton HAD bin Laden but didn’t do anything about it, and his administration was warned long before 9/11 yet he never even raised a brow."

Baloney. The Clinton administration never "had" Bin Laden. An attempt was made to actually kill Bin Laden, but the missile strike at his camp didn't accomplish the job since Bin Laden wasn't present at that time.

And Bin Laden STILL hasn't been caught or killed, so it isn't as if the Bush administration has shown any better success, has it?

In comparision, what did the Bush administration do in the days leading up to 9-11? Nothing.

"Funny how you say the authoritarians attack the media when people of the main stream media have even acknowledged they are biased and unfair."

Oh, unlike the Fox News Channel? I watch several media sources, including FNC, and they are the most biased programming other there.

I am not sure when the " main stream media have even acknowledged they are biased and unfair." That sounds like some random statement you simply created just to support your position.

It's also funny how right-wing media commentators are somehow "out" of the MSM - here is a clue, THEY ARE THE MEDIA TOO, and that includes blowhards such as Rush Limbaugh.

"Ann Coulter has courage to do what she does and when NBC banned her for life it had negative effects on the network so they had to undo what had been done."

Are you kidding me? Ann Coulter has "courage"? That's a joke - it takes no courage to run your mouth and make obnoxious statements. I hear folks like her every day on message forums: She is basically a troll that writes books which appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Worse yet, she is an out-and-out liar and distorts "facts" in her books.

Courage my rear end.

"Saying what is going on in Gaza was the reason for bumping her from the show still doesn’t explain why they originally banned her for life when they had already said it was due to her attack on the president elect in her new book “Guilty”. I bet you support the fairness doctrine, keep the right wingers quiet, huh?"

Well, she reaps what she sows, that is all I have to say. It's a free country - if they want to ban her due to her idiotic comments, then that's life. She has talked about liberals and democrats being traitors and that some of them should be "executed" as an example.

And she expects that some folks won't be unhappy with her words? Give me a break.

But no, I don't support the Fairness Doctrine. As far as I am concerned, idiots like Limbaugh and other conservative talk radio help the cause - they demonstrate, every day, their vileness. Heck, I have read two of Limbaugh's books and used to watch his TV show in the early 90's, so it isn't as if we need to take him off the air - he'll do that himself.

I may not like his ilk, but I certainly support the First Amendment; unlike some conservatives, I don't believe in book burning and other assaults on that Free Speech. But is is really, really funny to hear right-wingers all of a sudden worried about '"liberty" and "free speech" when they showed none of these concerns over the last eight years, and even before that time, during the Reagan years.

"I won’t be the one looking down a barrel at Obama, but I believe you are right that someone will, whether it is an enemy foreign or domestic. I believe in protecting my country from enemies foreign and domestic and I think it’s time for domestic. Socialism is not the way to go, and I will not give up my guns."

And folks such as yourself would be delighted if that happened. It is the sort of fantasy that right-wingers are having, and it shows how dangerous some of you are to this nation: Not by your values, but by blind hatred.

As someone said on another message board, "All I want to see are the Democrats crushed."

Give me a break about "protecting my country from enemies foreign and domestic." You only care about the "Republican States of America," and folks such as you or Coulter could care less about the UNITED States of America. Other then the Second Amendment (which I support), the rest of the Bill of Rights are useless for folks such as yourself.

I really hate when folks who do not even understand basic terminology uses words such as "socialism" or "fascism" with no clues to their meaning. Obama is not a socialist nor a communist, though the ignorant right would use these terms. (And it's especially funny since Sarah Palin is a Socialist herself, with her redistributive oil revenue sharing!)

"As for your comment on professors, I believe our education system has taken a turn for the wrong and is mis-informing our children and students in colleges around the nation. Pick up some new history books and read them, there is a definite right wing-ness about them. There are some corrections that are correct, but too many right wing views instilled in the writings."

How so? Because they aren't teaching Creationism or other theological-based belief systems?

Also, I assume you mean too many "left-wing" views, and I really don't buy it. I have looked at some of the history books used by my nephews, for example, and they were pretty informed and well-written.

Again, professors are always the targets of authoritarians. It is a trend in modern history, and what you're stating is simply another right-wing assertion in a long line of attacks on the US educational system, such as the book bannings and the attempt to subvert real science with ID teachings.

"I don’t trust Obama, never did, and never will until he comes clean on issues about his past that I previously brought up."

The press has been talking about Obama for a LONG time at this point. The problem is that nothing Obama has said, or will say, will never make you happy. You are too ideologically rigid to actually change your viewpoint., and what you said earlier is irrelevant, because the Supreme Court wouldn't even bother its time with the "Birther" lawsuits.

What's painfully ironic, though, is that Republican scandals and tendencies for secrecy doesn't bother you one bit. You are inconsistent in your demand for honesty, which you really do not care about, if you ask me.

You just don't like Obama and you will believe in anything which would get him out of office.

"The desire to change the Constitution on the left, will be our demise and extinction as Americans."

Again, baloney. The Right have already subverted the Constitution, especially with efforts by the Bush administration. Again, you are inconsistent, and I don't buy into your supposed concern for the "Constitution." It is the same fake Constitutionality I hear from other right-wingers.

You have yet to display one iota of concern over real Constitutional issues.

At least Obama taught Constitutional law - he knows it better then the right-wingers who are showing faux concern over this important document.

"If Obama had the respect you say I should give him, then as part of We the People, I should have a right to vet the best I can the man who would be President. If he had any respect for anybody other than his egotistical self he would release his transcripts for public review along with his C.O.L.B.."

My, such a sudden concern for transparency! Of course...when it's the Republican party and its members, right?

Sorry - it's all crocodile tears. After the years of secrecy we've had to deal with from the Bush White House, sorry if I am not very sympathetic.

Obama has been vetted by the State of Hawaii, and it was good enough for the Supreme Court.

"Instead, he would rather hire TEAMS of lawyers and pay thousands of dollars to keep it concealed from public view."

Actually, a copy of his COLB has already been revealed, but it's not good enough for the Crazy Right.

"Why is his Thesis from Columbia not available for view, does it show he may have received financial aid from foreign countries, namely Kenya? Why not show the public an actual C.O.L.B. in stead of a computer printout on his web page. We didn’t have computer printers in the early 60s."

My, my, if you only applied the same zeal to real issues!

Well, I guess when George W. Bush actually comes clean on his time spent, or lack of it, in the National Guard, then maybe we'll find Obama's thesis, right?

Who knows why it can't be found - I am not sure if the normal procedure for keeping thesis papers, and it's not really a concern to me, because it's not really relevant.

Also, a thesis paper isn't going to have anything about student aid or some such. Do you even know what a thesis is in the first place? It's a PAPER on a particular subject - why would it have anything about financial aid?

It is a computer printout because IT'S A COMPUTER PRINTOUT. It's a copy issued by the state of Hawaii; I don't know why that's so hard to figure out. But apparently the Crazy Right can't make these basic deductions.

It's, again, really funny/sad to see the preoccupation of the Right with these issues while the behavior of the Bush administration - with its secretive meetings, deleting and losing e-mails, Cheney's declaration that his office is not part of the Executive Branch, on and on...none of this bothers you.

But fail to locate a thesis, and "Oh no, it's a conspiracy!"

“Actually, if you actually did any research yourself, you would have already read the temperature index shows the overall average temperature is down a full degree.
My, such a sudden concern for transparency! Of course…when it’s the Republican party and its members, right?

Sorry – it’s all crocodile tears. After the years of secrecy we’ve had to deal with from the Bush White House, sorry if I am not very sympathetic.

Obama has been vetted by the State of Hawaii, and it was good enough for the Supreme Court.

“Instead, he would rather hire TEAMS of lawyers and pay thousands of dollars to keep it concealed from public view.”

Actually, a copy of his COLB has already been revealed, but it’s not good enough for the Crazy Right.

“Why is his Thesis from Columbia not available for view, does it show he may have received financial aid from foreign countries, namely Kenya? Why not show the public an actual C.O.L.B. in stead of a computer printout on his web page. We didn’t have computer printers in the early 60s.”

My, my, if you only applied the same zeal to real issues!

Well, I guess when George W. Bush actually comes clean on his time spent, or lack of it, in the National Guard, then maybe we’ll find Obama’s thesis, right?

Who knows why it can’t be found – I am not sure if the normal procedure for keeping thesis papers, and it’s not really a concern to me, because it’s not really relevant.

Also, a thesis paper isn’t going to have anything about student aid or some such. Do you even know what a thesis is in the first place? It’s a PAPER on a particular subject – why would it have anything about financial aid?

It is a computer printout because IT’S A COMPUTER PRINTOUT. It’s a copy issued by the state of Hawaii; I don’t know why that’s so hard to figure out. But apparently the Crazy Right can’t make these basic deductions.

It’s, again, really funny/sad to see the preoccupation of the Right with these issues while the behavior of the Bush administration – with its secretive meetings, deleting and losing e-mails, Cheney’s declaration that his office is not part of the Executive Branch, on and on…none of this bothers you.

But fail to locate a thesis, and “Oh no, it’s a conspiracy!”

Actually, if you actually did any research yourself, you would have already read the temperature index shows the overall average temperature is down a full degree. They said the currents in the ocean were slowing down, and now they are saying they are normal, give me a break and go take a "smoke" break.

Clinton HAD bin Laden but didn't do anything about it, and his administration was warned long before 9/11 yet he never even raised a brow.

Being that I am an employer, I would definitely report someone smoking a big medicinal fatty anywhere near my job site, it's a liability for me and my crew.

Funny how you say the authoritarians attack the media when people of the main stream media have even acknowledged they are biased and unfair. Ann Coulter has courage to do what she does and when NBC banned her for life it had negative effects on the network so they had to undo what had been done. Saying what is going on in Gaza was the reason for bumping her from the show still doesn't explain why they originally banned her for life when they had already said it was due to her attack on the president elect in her new book "Guilty". I bet you support the fairness doctrine, keep the right wingers quiet, huh?

I won't be the one looking down a barrel at Obama, but I believe you are right that someone will, whether it is an enemy foreign or domestic. I believe in protecting my country from enemies foreign and domestic and I think it's time for domestic. Socialism is not the way to go, and I will not give up my guns.

As for your comment on professors, I believe our education system has taken a turn for the wrong and is mis-informing our children and students in colleges around the nation. Pick up some new history books and read them, there is a definite right wing-ness about them. There are some corrections that are correct, but too many right wing views instilled in the writings.

I don't trust Obama, never did, and never will until he comes clean on issues about his past that I previously brought up.

The desire to change the Constitution on the left, will be our demise and extinction as Americans.

Walvepop, are you really that clueless?

Yes, for no apparent reason, Obama's mother would hop on a plane just to have her son born in Kenya. Yeah, that makes so much sense.

I wish I had an eye rolling emoticon to use as a response.

Theories such as this are simply hopeful wishes of folks such as yourself. You are just too desperate and hope for ANYTHING to prevent the hated Obama from taking office.

What a bunch of whackjobs.
