After a rough year in which she was heavily criticized for calling for McCarthyite investigations into liberal members of Congress, the Hill reports that Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) may be trying to tone down for 2009. However, she has made clear that her lips still aren’t bipartisan. At the 2007 State of the Union address, she famously gripped onto President Bush’s shoulder until he leaned in and gave her a kiss. But when asked if she would also kiss President-elect Obama, she replied, “Will I be sitting in the well? Probably not.”
Michelle might be scouring the countryside for a good “Drill Here, Drill Now” spot.
January 14th, 2009 at 9:58 amShe can kiss my ass.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:02 amHmmm…thats strange. Most GOP talkin’ heads (like Bachmann) preferred ass-kissin’ to Dubya.
Granted, Dubya wore his ass on his shoulders…..mystery solved.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:05 amWhen Michelle Bachmann kisses somebody the lipstick left behind is in the shape of a swastika.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:07 amKnowing the area that Bachmann’s from, there are people who voted for her who would lynch her if she publicly kissed a black man….
January 14th, 2009 at 10:08 amShe can kiss “Wheepy” Boehner, he seems like the type that might get turned on by a whack job like Bachmann.
Please, the rest of America, don’t judge us Minnesotans on how this idiot conducts herself. She has narrowingly won election only because she lives in 1 of the most republican congressional districts in the US.
The rest of Minnesota is very progressive & we are not ignorant, religious whack jobs like Daryll & Bachmann.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:10 amTo be fair about it, I doubt that Obama has any interest in kissing Bimbo Bachmann, either. I sure don’t blame him. She is an over-botoxed skank.
By the way, she is spending alot of time on right-wing talk radio these days being interviewed about the bail-out, legislative agenda, etc. I think she senses that there is a vacuum for her to fill ever since Failin’ Palin went back to Alaska and faded into oblivion.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:10 amMany Americans have overcome racism, but apparently many have not. Living in the South, this does not surprise me. But it does make me sad.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:11 amSo I guess a blow job is out of the question?
January 14th, 2009 at 10:11 amThis woman is a real nut job. I would prefer that she not kiss Obama, she might poison him. I would like him to stick around for a long time.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:13 amOf course not. He’s b-b-b-black!
January 14th, 2009 at 10:13 amBut secretly, I bet she wished she’d be kissed by him, further infuriating her white male base.
I’m sure that with President Obama the feeling is mutual.
Were do these wacko people come from, and why do they get elected?
January 14th, 2009 at 10:16 amMichele, go ahead and kiss him. You know what they say, once you go black, you’ll never go back.
SNARK!
January 14th, 2009 at 10:17 amA black man & a white woman kissing??? This would not sit well on the repug farm. Can’t we all see the overt racism here?
January 14th, 2009 at 10:17 am“Once you go black, you never go back”.
Fear of a Black Planet
January 14th, 2009 at 10:17 am>>>>>>>>The rest of Minnesota is very progressive & we are not ignorant, religious whack jobs like Daryll & Bachmann.
Well, I don’t know.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:23 amI lived there for 51 out of my 56 years, then left the country. If Minnesota ever elects a Native American to any state-level office, I’ll start to believe they’re becoming Progressive.
Heh. If I were Obama – I’d keep my lips as far away from that lunatic as humanly possible. She has MAJOR cooties!!
*shudder*
January 14th, 2009 at 10:25 amAll I can say is eewwww. I certainly hope she keeps her lips to herself.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:31 amI got nothin’. Sounds like she’s just talking about the seating arrangements as the minority party. I only dropped in here to award this big shiny trophy to DNFP for comment #9 being so freakin’ hilarious.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:32 amI wouldn`t even let her KISS my A$$ with that racist ,bigoted, hater mouth of hers…….besides it`s just more overt RASCISM from the REICH as roscoe points out.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:35 amEveryone should call Michele Bachman to encourage her to go for it. I just did. ((651)260-4648. I told the guy who answered: Michele SHOULD kiss Obama, cuz
Once you go black, you never go back.
heh, heh, ain’t I a stinker?
January 14th, 2009 at 10:39 amQuite frankly…Who gives a shit who that airhead kisses.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:40 amBachmann may believe in Intelligent Design, but whoever designed her was obviously retarded.
I’ve had it with extremism, be it religious, political or corporate. Jews, Muslims, Christians; Republicans, Democrats or Independents, it doesn’t matter.
Now, if I could just change this extreme weather…
January 14th, 2009 at 10:45 amHey, Hands off Bachman! She can see Canada from Minnesota.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:52 am>>>>>>>>The rest of Minnesota is very progressive & we are not ignorant, religious whack jobs like Daryll & Bachmann.
Probably just the metro area of Mpls/St. Paul. I lived in Minneapolis for 13 years (and I am brown). The famous theme of MN – “Minnesota nice” is basically means “keep your minority ass away from us and we will get along fine” :)
January 14th, 2009 at 10:54 amSeriously, Google “lipstick on a pig” and a picture of Michele Bachmann appears. Seriously.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:56 amFor some reason I keep getting her and Katherine Harris mixed up in my mind.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:06 amPerhaps she could show some interest in mud wrestling Saruhh Palin.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:08 amSeparated at birth!
January 14th, 2009 at 11:09 amEwww Nevar, I just lost my breakfast.

Just doing my part to help…
January 14th, 2009 at 11:10 amI’m not feeling well anymore. Thanks guys. :)
January 14th, 2009 at 11:12 amSajjad, cut us some slack. I’m from SW Minnesota & I am as white as they come (Norwegian, German ancestry). Two of my best friends, 1 Native American, 1 black & I would vote for either of them if they ran for public office. The county where I live, Chippewa, went for Gore in 2000, Kerry 2004, and Obama 2008.
I call that pretty good & progressive. A piece of white trailer trash, ignorant, racist, regiocentric like Bachmann repulses me as much as anyone.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:13 amOK, jello then… ;)
January 14th, 2009 at 11:14 amUgh.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:18 amroscoe, there’s lots of progressive Minnesotans. There must be something wrong with the water in Bachmann’s district. Probably a result of that drill, baby, drill philosophy.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:20 amYou’ll have to admit, Shayne, that matchup would thrill both of their respective bases. Your average Joe the Plumber type redneck couch potato would pay handsomely for the view…
January 14th, 2009 at 11:22 amMy personal favorite photo of Bachmann…
January 14th, 2009 at 11:25 amI feel queasy.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:26 amThanks Shane, I have recommended you. Bachmann’s district is very conservation, anti-abortion Catholic, affluent, & white. I guess that is how she got to DC. She disgraces our proud state.
We progressives are recruiting progressives to move to her district & throw the 2010 elction.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:26 amSorry…Let’s try that again.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:27 amI wish she was sitting in a well – a deep well somewhere outside Hibbing, where no one can hear her.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:32 amCan you catch STUPID from a kiss? Until we know for sure, I’d advise staying clear of Ms. Un-American Bachmann.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:44 amI have the same problems in my district in Illinois roscoe. Every two years my congress woman’s opponent gets closer though. I know people who live in her neighborhood and she went around telling them her opponent had a criminal record and even though it wasn’t true they went around telling everybody they knew. I wonder what Bachmann was telling the neighbors.
January 14th, 2009 at 11:46 amShayne, she tells them that if they vote for her opponent, they are un-American, communists, tax & spend liberals, & of course baby killing atheists.
That is the world of fear that Bachmann thrives….sound familiar???
January 14th, 2009 at 12:31 pmThat GOPig Skank is a Reichwing As$ kisser.
January 14th, 2009 at 12:45 pmMichele Bachmann, the woman who denies ever saying the things she said to Matthews on Hardball? The woman who has yet to apologize for her extreme comments? The woman whose idiotic supporters claim was trapped into saying the things she did on Hardball? Yup Michele Bachmann, is one warped, dishonest nutjob.
Many from her district are well off republicans in the suburbs. Others are the fundies and the rural area people. It is my experience in dealing with these idiots that they are ‘repeaters’ where as they hear Michele say something and without doing any research, they just repeat it as the truth, Other supporters are fundies who call themselves Christians but only seem to know certain verses in the bible and have no clue about what Jesus Christ is all about. The rest of her supporters are just uninformed ignorant rednecks.
January 14th, 2009 at 1:10 pmI’m sure Obama is relieved.
January 14th, 2009 at 1:25 pmI wouldn’t let that ho kiss me if I’m Obama! Who knows where that filthy mouth of hers has been?
January 14th, 2009 at 1:29 pm“Rep. Michele Bachmann has no interest in kissing Obama.”
And neither does Obama. I am sure that Obama wants to hit the ground running coming Jan. 20 without having a slight case of cooties.
January 14th, 2009 at 1:29 pmOxygen has a show where there is this crazed, over- plastic surguried, ex-model named Janice Dickenson. Don’t know if I have her name right but Michele reminds me of her. Except one thing, the model is way more fun!
January 14th, 2009 at 1:38 pmBut yet she won.
January 14th, 2009 at 2:32 pmDespite the rally after “the interview”, which Chris later admitted was a set up, she still won.
Despite the cross backing of the Independent party for El Tinklenberg after “the interview”, she still won.
Despite running in one of the most left states in the union as a republican, she still one.
Why? If she is really an extremist and really a maniac, why on earth did she win?
Remember, she was re-elected, so she had history on file and yet, she still won. Curious.
Oh yeah, I keep forgetting. This is not a place for rational debate and facts. Only venting.
Like O’s Michelle would every let that happen.
January 14th, 2009 at 3:23 pm#52:
MN one of the most left states? Seriously? Daily Kos doesn’t even have them in the top 20. And what about her district? Is that a liberal leaning district (keep in mind her election was not state-wide)? Answer: no, it’s a heavily red district. So, yes, neocon crackpots can still win in some places in our great country. Where do you live?
If you want to b!tch about lack of rational debate and facts, you’d do well to supply some of your own.

Start with the spelling of Independent.
January 14th, 2009 at 4:48 pmIndependant Says: 52
There is no logic in this post. First Minnesota is HARDLY one of the most lefty states in the country. Maybe 470 years ago not today. Second even if it WERE she did not run in a statewide election, she didnt run for Senator. In California which by many standards IS one of the more left leaning states a rightwinger that would embarass Atilla the Hun can STILL win in Orange county or San Diego county. That there are enclaves of conservatives ANYWHERE that will elect someone as worthless and anti-American as Bachman really doesnt say much about the state itsef.
January 14th, 2009 at 6:04 pmWOW, I dont know how that 7 got in there obviously I mean 40 years ago

Where do you get your facts? In 2006, 50% of the 6th district voters voted for someone other than Michelle. 42% Dem and 8% INP. In 2008, 43% voted Dem and 10 INP. The facts do not support the claim no, it’s a heavily red district.
In addition, USA today, states:
Minnesota has the longest streak of voting Democratic in presidential elections of any state. No Republican since Richard Nixon in his 1972 landslide has carried it.
Facts speak for themselves.

Why? If we can not own up to and explain our actions, than we have not integrity. People make mistakes, there is nothing wrong with that. It is what a person does after the mistake that is important.
January 14th, 2009 at 6:49 pmSo…..what happens now?
January 14th, 2009 at 6:52 pmdbadass Says:
So…..what happens now?
We watch. Closely. We hold people accountable for their actions and not make excuses. It doesn’t matter if it will hurt our personal causes, because in the end, the truth will come out. We need to do this with all of the politicians we have elected. I know it is easier said than done, but what other choice do we have.
Many people have given their lives and limbs to make America. Do we really want to give up what they sacrificed so much for because of a party? The politicians have us at each others throats, distracting us from the truth. I have fought and lived for this country and it makes me feel used when I truly look at where we are today. We need to come together as people and there is no one person that can make that happen.
We are the citizens and we decide our future, not others, unless we let them.
January 14th, 2009 at 7:04 pmOh I ment the owning up to mistakes part. I missed where you did that? Sorry. I’ll go back and look for it…
January 14th, 2009 at 7:11 pmWell that didn’t take long… It isn’t there IndependAnt.

You will need to be direct and tell me what you want me to own up to. All facts I have stated can be looked up and verified easily. And, if I got my facts wrong, that can be looked up too. Please, show me where I am wrong. I only ask that you do it with facts that can be verified.
Note: I like that. IndependAnt. It is so creative.
January 14th, 2009 at 7:23 pmThis is odd. In 59. I simply said I thought it polite to ignore the mispelling of independent. In 60 pose the question of Why it is polite to ignore the mistake and you suggest that mistakes happen and what is important is owning up to them. Them you never own up to the mispelling mistake. Then in 62, you go off on some other weird tangent unrelated to the issue of the mispellin of independent. It seems sort of confusing. Does that help?

I don’t know, dbadass; it’s folksy in a Bachmann-esque kind of way.
January 15th, 2009 at 12:12 amMinnesota’s probably going to lose a house seat with the next census. I can’t think of a more deserving person to be the odd-person out than MB.
January 15th, 2009 at 12:22 amHonestly, I can see both sides. Some pregnancies can be dangerous for the mother, which can put her life at risk. At the same time, ending a pregnancy early also kills the child. I don’t know if the mother’s life or the child’s life is more important. We really need to think about both sides and maybe find a middle ground.
