Vitter casts lone vote against Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State.

vitterandwendy.gifToday, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 16-1 to approve President-elect Obama’s nomination of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. Casting the sole “nay” vote was Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), who was concerned about Bill Clinton’s “multimillion dollar minefield of conflicts of interest.” Vitter has long been a Clinton foe, calling on President Clinton to step down in 1998 because of his affair with Monica Lewinsky. In 2007, Vitter also revealed that he had been a client of the D.C. Madam’s escort service, but refused to resign.

    – - Vitter is to the Senate what toilet tissue is to a high heel.

I see some more Depends in his future. Obstructionist moron.

  3. StratRat says:

And that is your modern republican party: Good for me, not for thee. Mrs. Vitter is just beaming in that photo, heh?

God, what a pathetic excuse for a political party.

  4. The Republic of Stupidity says:

Question… if it was the right thing to do for Spitzer to resign once it was known he had been seeing a prostitute, why is Vitter still in Congress, and why did the GOOP go so far as to even give him a standing ovation at one point?

Perverts standing up for other perverts?

  5. scytherius says:

Yes, but was he wearing a diaper?

  6. avchavis says:

    Vitter is a despicable hypocrite!

  7. Nevar says:

Here’s a perfect example of a needed change

  8. ljm says:

She should be very pleased by this! Sick and still fighting, he calls attention to himself just when the public forgot he is still around. I bet most of America is saying: “Didn’t he leave in disgrace?”

  9. Art says:

Vitter will be up for re-election next time and he is trying to establish himself as a champion for conservative causes, to appeal to his constituency here in LA.
With all politics being local, he is playing the odds to help him get re-elected.

  10. Zimzone says:

David F’n Vitter; Depends you change into…

  11. NOLIESPLEASE says:

He who has not sinned my cast the first stone….Vitter, what are you doing in line????

  12. LizCoro says:

I looked up the word HYPOCRITE in the dictionary and two photos of MARRIED MEN pop up:

    DAVID VITTER
    BILL ‘FALAFEL MAN’ O’REILLY

Vitter pays for sex . .

Billo too cheap to pay for sex . .

  13. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Vitter is NOT a hypocrite. He was, as a good Republican should, supporting a corporation, while Clinton, as a lustful liberal does, was expecting and got a freebie.

    /snark off

  14. alphainfinityomega says:

When the Lord handed out dapper, Vitter thought He said diaper…..

excellent shot of the missus… i’ll never understand her decision to wear that dress, much less the decision to stand there that day…

  16. Buckie Boy says:

Vitter, what a diaper load he is……hehe.

  17. rastaman says:

hahahahaha……atta boy Davey……you keep poking the hornets nest

  18. Badmoodman says:

atta boy Davey……you keep poking the hornets nest

    – - And yet another euphemism for Vitter’s philandering.

  19. Hoodathunk says:

What are the odds he got off because while he may have visited the classy cathouse, he didn’t pay for sex. Maybe there are somethings (and people) even hookers can’t be paid to do.

  20. kasinca says:

Do these morons actually think that their obstructionism and indifference makes them look better after the last eight years of their marching in lock step behind the most corrupt, inept, sob to ever darken the doors of the White House? This whoremongering fool makes me happy because people like him are the death of the GOP. That party cannot die soon enough.

  21. GSD says:

Diaper Dave Vitter only supports women who pay for play.

    -GSD

  22. jb says:

Does Vitter represent the permanent Repub majority?

  23. tigger says:

Vitter just wants to keep women in their place –the whorehouse changing his diaper…

  24. Tired Of Fighting says:

The fact that he was the lone dissenting vote says it all folks. This man is irrelevant, so lets move on.

Where was this joke of an individual’s opposition when Bush was appointing former industry lobbyists and other industry puppets to virtually every position in his administration?

  26. paz3 says:

If you were Hillary Clinton, would you want Vitter to vote for you?

  27. pax says:

    Disgusting creep!

and he didn’t even have to ASK for it!

  29. EnnuiDivine says:

And, of course, this schmuck will be re-elected in 2010. The Dems best shot is with Mitch Landrieu..and that ain’t saying much.

  30. Hoodathunk says:

She seems to be praying in the photo…’Oh plz, plz, plz, don’t let him be turned down by another cathouse.’

  31. slappy magoo says:

I know the media is supposed to stay neutral (heh) but any reporter with a sense of humor should have the sound of a baby crying and pooping as a ringtone. And any time that reporter has to cover Vitter at a press conference or making a statement, that reporter should “unexpectedly” get a call. The sound of babies crying and pooping should follow him everytime he speaks in public.

  32. marcoplos says:

Vitter may be a world-class jerk – but he’s right on this. The sleazy network that Bill Clinton has built to enrich himself should not be anywhere near an administration that purports to be bringing real change. There will be trouble on this in the future.

  33. Jackie says:

Senator Vitters thought it was a vote on not hiring Prostitutes he really wasn’t thinking about the topic of Secretary of State. This is what happens when a Sex starved Senator’s mind wanders and he needs a diaper change.

  34. WillowOrchid says:

I’d have thought Vitter would want to keep his head down (heh, I said “head”). Whenever I hear/read his name I visualize adult diapers and laugh.

I suppose he thinks voting against Hillary will please his constituents. Maybe. But consider the FUN his opponent will have in the election!

  35. DwH says:

I’ll bet he voted for Halliburton no-bid contracts. I’ll bet he supports any KBR project planned for the US. I’d like to have seen HALF this scrutiny paid to Cheney/Bush when they first began lying to Congress.

Why are republicans so willing to put party before country? Greed.

  36. ElBruce says:

Meh, he probably saw it was going to be unanimous, which left him free to flip the bird one more time at Hillary. But he’s not even a speed bump.

  37. theswan says:

Vitter’s women take on the battered syndrome look. Hillary is glad not receive any of his advances.

  38. Nevar says:

    Vitter does his doody.

  40. coskibum says:

Would you expect anything less from this flee bag neo-con smuck?

  41. RationalRadioJett says:

I found it so annoying and the ultimate Repuke hypocrite move to have him question Hillary Clinton about his funding that provides medications to the poor with HIV, while he spends his money, or ours, on prostitutes.

He is the ultimate man whore.

  42. jpopphan says:

Why would anyone take Vitter seriously anyway? “Vitter the $hitter”, anyone?

I can’t walk past a display of diapers anymore without bursting into laughter at the thought of this wingnut gleefully filling up his own diaper at every opportunity.

Vitter should just sit down, ride out the rest of his term and then crawl back under his rock.

  43. Art says:

    EnnuiDivine Says:

And, of course, this schmuck will be re-elected in 2010. The Dems best shot is with Mitch Landrieu..and that ain’t saying much.

There may be a Louisiana Republican out there who will think that Vitter is vulnerable and will switch to the Dems to run against him. It happens down here all the time.

    avchavis Says:
    Vitter is a despicable hypocrite!

    Yes he is.

    But you know what else?

Hillary Clinton is a despicable hypocrite!

  45. curious says:

Spitzer got shafted not because he had a thing for prostitutes. He was outed because he was SUCCESSFULLY prosecuting those on Wall Street that were stealing wholesale. If he had not been so good at his job, he would be still doing it. He left because he did not want what he did to take away from what he was trying to do. It concerns his wife more than anything.

Vitters is still doing his. And not nearly as well. And he is what he is. Republican. He still has his job because he does not have that kind of sensitivity. His wife is the only one who can answer whether he is worth the embarrassment.

  46. jazz lover says:

    i don’t get it.
why is this clown still in the senate while eliot spitzer is barely a memory?

  47. dbearton says:

Vitter is a RepubliCon A$$wipe. To bad, he was not lost to Katrina; rather then all the innocents.
