Lincoln was not a double-dealing no good rat.
He may not be your favorite President but he was a good man who did a good job and his duty as he understood it under trying circumstances.
I would say that Lee also fits that mold. As do many who fought for the CSA.
Your namesake, however, does not. Neither do many who shaped the CSA's political agenda... I can respect and honor many who fought and died on both sides of this conflict... I cannot respect the politicians like Jefferson Davis who tore this country apart to preserve a state's right to enslave its citizens...

After the 1876 election and compromise, the republican party saw that the black voter strategy had failed and the cast the ex slaves aside and abandoned them to a very angry, resentful Southern white population.

Sorry to belabor the point but this really bothers me... you say on the one hand that the North had no business poking its nose in the South's affairs but when the North allows the Southern States the opportunity to govern without federal intervention and they revert to suppressing former slaves in every way conceivable short of slavery, that's the North's fault, too?
So what the Confederate states really needed was more federal supervision? If only the Republicans had stuck to their guns in the South? You might have something there... Reconstruction was ended too early- we agree.

No one is arguing that the motives of the North were purely noble... but Slavery was a great evil and whether you admit it or not the conflict became one about Slavery.
Lincoln did the right thing.
The South lost... and when they were given the chance to move forward, they didn't. Not for a long time. You don't get to blame that on the North.
They may have come haltingly to Emancipation but they didn't fight tooth and nail against it. The CSA did.

Don’t look at the talk, look at the results, who benefited from the war and northern victory?(it took the ex-slaves 130 years to begin to see any real benefit at all

No, they saw immediate benefits under Emancipation and Reconstruction and would have seen more but things were rolled back after the compromise of 1877- when federal troops were withdrawn and the Southern states were allowed some 'self-rule' again. They immediately re-introduced institutional racism.

why was it that Jefferson Davis,R.E. Lee and all others were never brought to trial, convicted and hung?

Procedural issues, political pressure, and a desire to put the war to bed.
also...
On 25 December 1868, President Andrew Johnson issued a general amnesty proclamation for most Confederates.

Whatever the reasons for beginning the Civil War on any side, and no matter the atrocities that occurred at the hands of both sides, the fact remains that the result was the ending slavery as an institution in the south... and that was the correct result.

Read South Carolina's Declaration of Succession.
Property- Slavery are the reasons listed.
Tennessee may have rejected slavery as a reason for secession but they did not reject slavery and they joined the CSA with the stated goal of preserving slavery as an institution.

Only after our State was called upon by Lincoln to violate the Constitution did we vote again in June 1861 to get out!

Again, "violate the Constitution" is strong language and a debatable interpretation of the Constitution at best.

I'm not sure what you're fishing for... would you like permission to secede now?
That seems irresponsible as well as unlikely...

And yet proud to say you would have supported a State's supposed right to enslave?

"Nothing has changed."

Actually, everything has changed. You just really need to get over it.

Your fixation on the wrongs of the Union against the South are bordering on being unhealthy at this point... especially if it leads to such feelings of unease upon simply seeing the American flag as you stated before.

South Carolina signed the Constitution, but wasn't prepared to follow through with all that entailed.

A war was fought and your side lost. It happens. What is the precedent for losers of a war to get everything they want?

J.Davis Says:
I will leave you now,but with the fact that our point of view is not dead and it will be a part of America for as long as America is able to hold it’s parts together.

Wow, still fighting the civil war.....do you have a uniform and everything?

Get ready to retire your rebel flag, forever. It is a symbol of racism equal to a swastika.

Here, let me help J. Davis...
from the above link...

We affirm that these ends for which this Government was instituted have been defeated, and the Government itself has been made destructive of them by the action of the non-slaveholding States. Those States have assume the right of deciding upon the propriety of our domestic institutions; and have denied the rights of property established in fifteen of the States and recognized by the Constitution; they have denounced as sinful the institution of slavery; they have permitted open establishment among them of societies, whose avowed object is to disturb the peace and to eloign the property of the citizens of other States. They have encouraged and assisted thousands of our slaves to leave their homes; and those who remain, have been incited by emissaries, books and pictures to servile insurrection.

The u.s govt. is not based on consent and freewill,it is based on force and brutality… at least in the Southern States it is.

Again- this point is laughable when you refuse to acknowledge that the reason the South wanted to secede was so they could continue to enslave a significant portion of their population through force and brutality... read the Declaration of Succession for South Carolina... it really was all about slavery.
And slavery really was wrong- still is.

Well, no I am not pursueing a moral case, the constitution does not give the federal govt. the power to force a State to remain in the union, but the 10 amendment gives the State the option of saying or going.

Debatable but this answer (bruhaha) is pretty close to my own on this subject...

The constant attacks against the South are just insane and I’m sick of it.

Again- the South attacked the North and then lost... I'm sick of your historical revisionism.
