Blagojevich compares himself to MLK, Mandela, and Gandhi.

Today in an interview with NBC, disgraced Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-IL) compared himself to human rights heros Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Mahatma Gandhi. Speaking to The Today Show, Blagojevich said that as the indictment became public, he “thought about Mandela, Dr. King and Gandhi and tried to put some perspective to all this.” Watch it:

Last week, Blagojevich compared his arrest to the attack on Pearl Harbor.

If this is the example for the youth we’re in big trouble for the future. It is clear the Rod Blagojevich is acting like a complete idiot to save himself from the crimes he committed. Why isn’t he comparing himself to the likes of Boris Badenov, Snidely Whiplash and other cartoonish villains? Much more apropos.

  71. MoonElf says:

When he’s impeached, he’ll compare himself to Joan of Arc. Of course, Blago is just working himself up for a big book deal. He and Sarah Palin will be competing for the reading public’s pennies about next summer. Neither is smart enough to write the books themselves, so who will be their ghost writers? One thing’s for sure, I won’t be buying.

Yes, you’re right. I have a feeling Blago was trying to get at a Lecter/Dahmer shortbread recipe for the celebration dinner for whichever politician won his Senate lottery sweepstakes.

And Willy Wonka at least offered chocolate!

Yeah, but Blago gives us quotes that go down like smores while thrown like a curve or knuckleball. Last I checked, ethics in baseball was a zero sum game…so he’d fit right in!

    FRIDAY, JANUARY 09, 2009

House Votes To Recommend Impeachment Of Blagojevich

The Illinois legislative committee UNANIMOUSLY VOTED to recommend the impeachment of Governor Rod Blagojevich who has been accused of abusing his power as Governor, in multiple areas, including a “Play to Pay Scheme”, “Sale of U.S. Senate Appointment”, and “Misuse of State Funding To Induce Firing of Chicago Tribune Editorial Writers.”
    ________________

Gee… Glezz… I’d call an unanimous vote” to impeach a pretty emphatic gesture.

What more would you like us to do? Should some of us fly to Chi-town and wait for a chance to jump Blago in a dark alley?

I mean, it’s not like we’re GOOPers, who “welcomed [Vitter] back to a closed Republican Senate luncheon with a loud standing ovation” after it got out that he was consorting w/ prostitutes.

    http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070723/OPINION/707230311

Or Dennis Hastert, who said “I haven’t done anything wrong, obviously…” after it came out that he had been aware of Foley’s behavior around the Congressional pages for quite some time.

    http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/releases/036

Or the Bush, who promised to investigate and FIRE anyone involved in the Plame leak… heh… we all know how THAT played out, huh?

BTW, are you “rrdaos” too? Or are you just stealing his silly catch phrase?
