On Friday, when President Obama met with congressional leaders from both parties to discuss his economic recovery and reinvestment program, he told GOP leaders, “You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done.” Asked for a response by National Review yesterday, Limbaugh said that Obama’s “plan is to isolate elected Republicans from their voters.” He added that passage of the stimulus bill would hurt Republicans electorally:
Obama’s plan would buy votes for the Democrat Party, in the same way FDR’s New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule, and it would also simultaneously seriously damage any hope of future tax cuts. It would allow a majority of American voters to guarantee no taxes for themselves going forward. It would burden the private sector and put the public sector in permanent and firm control of the economy. Put simply, I believe his stimulus is aimed at re-establishing “eternal” power for the Democrat Party rather than stimulating the economy because anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy.
Limbaugh’s argument echoes former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell’s recent claim that Obama’s stimulus plan “could create a major electoral advantage for Democrats at taxpayer expense.” “Creating 600,000 new jobs might help cement Virginia in the Democrat column, making it harder for Republicans to retake the White House,” said Blackwell.
Well, Ass Limbo needs to realize that the American people aren’t stupid and the reason why the republicans were trounced on this past election is because they put the American people LAST. Those who help the hard working Americans are the ones who succeed!
January 25th, 2009 at 9:54 am“…because anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy”
And those without a brain, like yourself, should be very afraid.
January 25th, 2009 at 9:56 amLet me remind rush baggyball supporters we are at war, in both afghanistan and Iraq.
Issuing such statements as baggyballs did is offerring aid and comfort to the enemy during war time. also known as treason.
time for ole rush to tell it to the judge.
January 25th, 2009 at 9:56 amSo stand in the way, and help start another depression. Your choice. That’s the beauty part of talk radio. They can still get him on the radio of the car they’re sleeping in.
Until the battery goes dead.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:03 amThe repugs/neocons and their media shills just hate the “will of the people”.
Limpballs knows that if the majority of people had any real input on programing, his fat a$$ would be off the air.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:04 am“Obama’s stimulus plan “could create a major electoral advantage for Democrats…”
I sure hope so as it is about time, again!
January 25th, 2009 at 10:09 amI would like to have rush baggyballs meet my 88 years old lifelong republican grandmother and say this to her face.
during the great depression she was saved from starvation by FDR’s WPA when my great grandfather was given a job by them.
She’d probably slap the sheyat outta baggyballs since she goes mental everytime someone starts carrying on about the new deal.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:11 amRush has always kissed the corporate backside for his paycheck. The failure of the stimulus plan hurts the bottom line of the corporations. He’s now in danger of biting the hand that feeds him, if he keeps up this line of rhetoric much longer.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:15 amI agree, Bozo, as my family also benefited from the WPA during the Depression. Today when I hike in a State Park, I note that it was built by the Civililan Conservation Corps.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:19 amNote to Rush: Obama was not elected by the media. He was elected by the American people who were tired of failed GOP policies and shenanigans. Obama worked hard to be elected and the American people worked hard to put him there. The GOP is the only one who hurt the GOP electoral chances, and continue to do so. Now STFU and go away.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:19 amThe failure of the stimulus plan hurts the bottom line of the corporations. He’s now in danger of biting the hand that feeds him, if he keeps up this line of rhetoric much longer.
Or of falling off the tiger of wingnut rage, if his hand loosens its grip. He has to keep up the pressure, or risk being trampled by the beast he rides.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:20 amThat Rush is such a great a-nalist. He goes right for the obvious part. Pukes cannot win again until it can be shown that the Dims and Obama have failed. Hence it is in the Pukes’ interest that the Dims and Obama come a’cropper. They will do everything in their power to ensure that outcome ensues, though they will have to be very careful to conceal their rampant obstructionism behind or beneath a veneer of ‘legitimate’ concerns.
But it’s a given. Pukes cannot win unless the Dims/Obama fail. So it is in the GOPukes’ interest that Obama & Dims be shown as failures, incompetents, and fakes.
Hide and watch how they–with the assistance of their lap-dog prostate-lavers in the SCUM–work that out…
January 25th, 2009 at 10:20 amListening the C-Span’s National Journal, and the majority of repub callers still maintain their only path out of the wilderness is to turn even further to the right.
It’s a beautiful Sunday morning…
January 25th, 2009 at 10:27 amyes, county before party right repigs?
always worried about those votes instead of doing the right thing.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:29 amLike the vast majority of Republicans these days, Rush cares more about his Party than his Nation. That, in a nutshell, is why the Republicans have such bad ideas and are so marginalized today. It’ll take those idiots years to figure out the obvious too.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:30 amhell, anything that makes rush baggyballs have a screaming hizzy fit can’t be bad for this country.
it’s when he wholly supports a cause you known someone’s getting screwed
January 25th, 2009 at 10:32 amBut I thought the right wingers of America said we should always love our president right or wrong and that we should support him no matter what (to prove our love of country and our patriotism)?
What happened?
January 25th, 2009 at 10:32 amFrom the Onion:
WASHINGTON—A panel of top business leaders testified before Congress about the worsening recession Monday, demanding the government provide Americans with a new irresponsible and largely illusory economic bubble in which to invest.
“What America needs right now is not more talk and long-term strategy, but a concrete way to create more imaginary wealth in the very immediate future,” said Thomas Jenkins, CFO of the Boston-area Jenkins Financial Group, a bubble-based investment firm. “We are in a crisis, and that crisis demands an unviable short-term solution.”
January 25th, 2009 at 10:39 ambecause anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy.
and so, after 8 years, just what WOULD stimulate the economy,
January 25th, 2009 at 10:44 amthat has been suffocating under repug rule… for 8 years…
8 looong years…
suffocating, hell… they practically KILLED this country…
January 25th, 2009 at 10:45 amHow unpatriotic of Rush Limbaugh, wishing the worst on the American people. Rush has a job so he could care less if other Americans have jobs.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:50 amWell I will ignore the obvious dig about who has a brain and go right to the heart of the matter. What we do know is that the republicans do not know how to stimulate the economy, yet they still insist they do……America is wise to you rush.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:55 amParty politics over the American peoples well being…nice meme, just keep saying loudly and for a long time..so there after there will be no GOP. The majority of American’s are not stupid and we do “get it”, the GOP will relegate itself to the 22 percent of nutjobs and give the Dems the majority of the middle. It has been painfully fun to watch the GOP self destruct over the last eight years.
Too bad they don’t have a leader like Teddy R. or Eisenhower to bring some sanity to their party, both warned of bowing to the corporate elite and lead a responsible Republican party. Now its only Rush, Boner, and other of their ilk. Have fun in the wilderness you fat, old, graying, white bread, elite, social club, corporatists.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:56 amCats,
January 25th, 2009 at 10:58 amRush has something BETTER than a job. He has a CONTRACT. You know, like UNION members get? Like he wants to prevent more workers from getting?
Rush is an idiot. Obama was right, listening to Rush will result in accomplishing nothing.
He reminds me of my own father, a republican because he thinks they honestly save him a few bucks on taxes each year, which in reality result in more costs in other areas.
Bush tax cuts probably saved me $300 a year but since such cuts as a middle class taxpayer, I’ve been averaging around $1200 or more a year on other bills like gas, utility bills, etc.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:00 amReally the best way to deal with Limbaugh and his sad little world is to ignore him. He is like the kid on the play ground yelling look at me, look at me. He has nothing to say, just wants attention.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:01 amNow that Dems are in power, repugs have no need to charge that everyone who does not support the president is a traitor.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:05 amIt only applies when repugs are in power: They get to lock out the Dems. They get to accuse the opposition of treason. They appoint themselves of arbiters of everything. It’s their way or no way.
Today, they would rather be obstructionist, and pull their party farther to the extreme right, than see the Democrats actually effect positive progress.
republicans are so screwed on this. If they don’t support it they are going to be hurt electorally too. I love the postition they have let their arrogance put them in.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:06 amWell, there was Bush’s stimulus package last summer. We all got $600, borrowed from future taxpayers.
Surely 8 years of Bush’s economic plans were intended to help Republicans electorally. And wasn’t it part of the GOP plan to create a permanent Republican majority?
Are we now to let a Republican minority further dictate economic policy? Tax breaks! Tax breaks! Tax breaks! That’s their mantra. Well, if we keep cutting taxes, how are we going to pay off the multi-trillion dollar debt Bush saddled us with?
Haven’t we learned that tax breaks are perhaps the LEAST effective way to stimulate the economy for the long haul? It’s like using your credit card to pay for the necessities of life. Eventually your credit runs out and you have to pay your bills. But without a job, that is impossible.
Without a strong manufacturing base, our economy is untenable. Manufacturing creates wealth. While infrastructure projects provide jobs, they do not, in and of themselves, create wealth. However, they do assist the manufacturing sector, hence are an important investment. But we need to figure out how to bring back “Made in America” stickers on our products.
To do that will require sacrifices: we must be willing to buy less, and pay more for what we buy. We must be willing to boycott the Walmarts among us and purchase from stores that sell goods made in the U.S. We must support our fellow workers in this manner, for their jobs create wealth for us all.
And companies manufacturing goods in America must commit to making high-quality goods. Gone must be the days where the consumer is afforded the opportunity to purchase an extended warrantee. Innovation must take the forefront once again.
Capitalists must work hand in hand with Labor. Together we can turn our economy around.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:13 amPut simply, I believe his stimulus is aimed at re-establishing “eternal” power for the Democrat Party
Simply put, Lush RimJob is an a-hole…
January 25th, 2009 at 11:14 amWell, it won’t give Democrats eternal power. It only took the Republicans 50 or 60 years to make a come back after the New Deal.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:15 amNot just among ourselves . . . we MUST get the word out to everyone we know or hope to know the treason of the Right. We must let them know it’s Party only for them and to Hell with America.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:15 amHas medical or psychological science ever studied the curious yet consistent stimulus-response observable in Republicans? I mean the one in which someone mentions “tax cut” and they all get chubbies? Some of the more virile even get full-on wood.
It’s weird. They don’t respond to any other language that way, nor do they respond to pictures, video, or even live, naked women in their presence with the same autonomic response.
In order to recreate the phenomenon, it’s been rumored that some of them need to hire small boys from Carribbean islands to perform certain “housekeeping” functions before them.
And of course, Viagra. Whether they have a prescription or not.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:18 amLarry Summers was just on Meet the Press, and David Gregory did little but parrot GOP talking points. He attacked Obama’s mix of proposed tax cuts, while putting forth the GOP’s vision, of renewing the upper-bracket tax cuts – which benefits his own bottom line, it must be noted. Gregory’s becoming a dependable font of republican tobacco-juice.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:19 amBriseadh na Faire at 11:13 am
“Well, there was Bush’s stimulus package last summer. We all got $600, borrowed from future taxpayers.”
Didn’t we borrow that money from ourselves, individually? When you file your 2008 taxes, won’t that money be deducted from your refund?
January 25th, 2009 at 11:22 amTo me, the most interesting subjects of such a study would be those dirt poor Republicans who exhibit such a response even though they obvious will not receive any part of the tax cut because it all goes to the top 1%. The stimulus-response by these poor deluded souls to tax cuts for the uber-wealthy seems to be identical to one you would expect from a person who is actually going to benefit from a tax cut.

January 25th, 2009 at 11:27 amExcellent comment, as usual.
Barfly,
January 25th, 2009 at 11:28 amMy sentiments exactly — I just wrote to MTP@msnbc.com to tell them what I think of Gregory.
Yes you did hit the nail on the head. The fatal flaw of Republican supply-side capitalist economics is that it totally ignores labor in it’s unadulterated worship of capital. It’s a Ponzi scheme with the unavoidable result of collapse and economic depression.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:31 amRush Needs to run for President!!He is very intelligent but a little egotistical which is ok…..The truth hurts, that is why he is not liked by Liberals!!
January 25th, 2009 at 11:35 amAh the claiming of the knowledge of what is truth. I also like that one…
January 25th, 2009 at 11:38 amI never hear republicans provide solutions, just nasty asssed comments against whatever the Democrats suggest. Tax cuts? Not such a good idea. Takes longer than infrastructure to product jobs, and if I, as an example, get one, its going in the bank, until I have to spend it. Broadband? Why does that take too long? McCain does not explain that. Add more digital switches and routers in places they are not in now. America is well behind Europe (I live there) in internet access and speed. And its only 6 Billion. That will buy a lot of progress for a relatively small price…..
January 25th, 2009 at 11:38 amcornservatives have just spent 8 years supporting the things rush believes in…..it failed……that is the truth.
cornservatives can’t handle the truth, it makes them look dumb.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:38 amWe seriously need to start prosecuting these NeoCons for TREASON.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:39 amRush is watched all over the world and his ratings are through the roof. The difference between his show and other liberal shows/media is his intellect, and has proven his studies on politics is at its best. People dont care for him because if is delivery but if you really listen, he tells the truth about what is going on,,,Liberals are incapable of listening to common sense.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:42 amha, that’s funny. prove it.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:47 amRush simply delivers shit which is written for him to in an effort to hawk adjustable beds and shit like that. It is just marketing not any reflection of intellect.
I suppose this is the same “common sense” that claims torture obviously works despite evidences to the contrary.
Please show me the truth as I have really listened and all I heard was crap designed to promote ratings nothing more nothing less

January 25th, 2009 at 11:49 amThe proof is in the pudding. Obama’s speech was terrible, used the forum to Bash Bush once again. HE allowed racist comments at the party etc. That was Obama’s chance to really show what he;’s made of. I’m afraid he has and it isnt a pretty picture. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt however his first executive decision is pathetic, how is that helping the USA? Obama listens to Rush also. More than anyone would know believe you me and he knows he’s right on with most everything, that is why Obama sees him as a threat.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:49 amRush is an educated man, he studied politics and is his passion. More than I can say for the tabloid so called Media who caters to the Rich Dems,,,,All about the mooolah
January 25th, 2009 at 11:51 amRush simply delivers shit which is written for him to in an effort to hawk adjustable beds and shit like that. It is just marketing not any reflection of intellect.
Hilarity always ensues, when he attempts to work product endorsements into his commentary, like Paul Harvey, shmoozing a national crisis announcement into an endorsement for Doan’s Little Liver Pills.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:51 amThis, I would agree with.
Where the liberal intellect is fueled by fact-based anlysis and pursuit of Truth, Rush’s happens to be fueled by partisan rancor and a desire to see his own views prevail, whether they be true or (much more frequently) fraudulent.
So I can see what you’re saying.

January 25th, 2009 at 11:55 amAh, yes, the much-touted Rush “intellect.” Here it is in action:
Put simply, I believe his stimulus is aimed at re-establishing “eternal” power for the Democrat Party rather than stimulating the economy because anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy.
You would think that even the mouth-breathers in his audience would notice the logical flaw. Obviously, dumbo, if this doesn’t work to stimulate the economy it will be viewed as a failure and the Democrat(ic) Party will be tossed out on its ear. So much for “eternal” power.
The plan can only “buy” votes for the Democrats if it works, idiot.

And where did he study politics?
Oh, okay. You’re not intending to make sense. Why didn’t you say so up front? I was looking down on you for not adhering to observable principles of objective reality. Now that I can see you never had any intention to do so, I feel better about our relationship.

Becoming? Where have you been? Gregory got the MTP job because he’s a reliable shill for GE/Jack Welch. He got married on Nantucket, sound familiar? You know, where Welch, Russert (ex), Matthews etc have their summer homes. All the time Tim (still dead) Russert was telling people what a grounded guy with Buffalo values he was, he was living the high life.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:59 amGregory is firmly ensconced as a Washington insider with all the reactionary tendencies that implies.
Becoming? No, he is.
Teehee…
Got there before both of ya, ralph & barfly…
To the swiftest… blah blah blah…
January 25th, 2009 at 11:59 amLimbaugh and his people need to keep this up. Every time they say something like this they lose more and more supporters. The people in this country know that then answer to our problems does not lie in the private sector. The private sector is the reason why we are in this big mess now.
Every day that goes by Limbaugh gets a little nuttier. Some day soon he’s going to stroke out and his hateful, anti-American, traitorous screed will be silenced forever.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:59 amThat`s right Bush Limpballs, for 45 plus years we had control of congress after WWII and this country fine, not perfect,Democrats got things done, the New Deal sparked unionizing, manufacturing went through the roof, inflation was low, taxes were high enough on the rich and working man alike. our economy was never better, we were the “Manufacturing capital of the world” and now we are one of the largest exporters of natural resources in the world and we manufacture almost nothing while we are the largest importer of goods in the world and it makes our national security very weak. The last eight years out of 28 years of Reagan-nomics has seen out country go in the toilet with the outsourcing of our jobs and our power to create wealth has gone in the toilet as well.I say let the morons listen to him because he says nothing important much less the truth as stated by Bloggerny.Bloggerny go trolling with Limpballs and see if he can use you as BAIT.
January 25th, 2009 at 11:59 amA, big old fat Limbuahg: yet another piece of evidence in a growing chain of evidence that the GOP is imploding, and faster than I thought.
There is indeed the possibility that this once great political party may just split right down the middle. I am not sure how long republican moderates are going to take being lambasted by their own right and watching their party go veritably off the deep end.
If 2010 ends in a fiasco for the GOP, especially in (as I am predicting) TX and UT, then I would say that the chances of a real schism in the GOP are great.
If it happens, remember who posted it first…:) :)
January 25th, 2009 at 12:00 pmSay, Bloggerny, I have a question for you;

To be fair, he did do a passable job with Boehner, except he didn’t try to distiguish between Obama’s targeted tax cuts, and Boehner’s call for a reinstatement of Bush’s capital- and top-tier rates.
But on balance he’s even worse that Russert, in that he always seems to quote “unnamed conservatives,” but never “unnamed liberals/progressives.”

It’s already happening. Clear Channel just laid off 9% of their work force. Soon they are going to start cutting shows in certain markets. Now, Clear Channel also happens to sponsor Ed Schultz and Randi Rhodes both of whom beat Limbaugh when they are in the same market. When it comes to start cutting shows, which do you think that Clear Channel is going to cut. Knowing the politics of today, I suspect they are going to start cutting Limbaugh. The only reason why he is so popular is that he is in so many markets. He is in markets where there is no other talk show to listen to. If it was a level playing field between conservative talk radio and liberal talk radio, I am willing to bet the farm that conservative talk radio would lose. Especially today after Obama’s massive election win and popularity.

Larry Summers was just on Meet the Press, and David Gregory did little but parrot GOP talking points. He attacked Obama’s mix of proposed tax cuts, while putting forth the GOP’s vision, of renewing the upper-bracket tax cuts – which benefits his own bottom line, it must be noted. Gregory’s becoming a dependable font of republican tobacco-juice.
At one time I thought that Gregory was a reasonable voice. Then he danced the Macerena with Karl Rove and sold his soul to the Republicans.
I wonder what the numbers are on MTP’s audience these days. I find it kind of curious that they haven’t been published. I suspect it is because they are losing their audience in droves.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:17 pmHouseofRoberts,,,Rush started many many years ago and worked his way up to what he is now.(More than what I can say about Obama) I do agree he needs to watch it, but I feel it’s out of passion for what he does and believes in that sometimes he goes overboard but doesnt change the fact that he’s brilliant at what he does. His delivery once again is why people dont care for him, they need to look past the delivery and into what he has to say. I dont agree with EVERYTHING, I do have a mind of my own, more than what i can say about the liberals.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:21 pmralph, why does Bloggerny seem afraid of the question?
January 25th, 2009 at 12:21 pmJust keep talking Limbaugh, I’m sure the weak new “bi-partisan”
January 25th, 2009 at 12:22 pmpresident and his weak, effeminate dems will give you exactly what you want. You want tax cuts, you get them. You want Obama on his knees under your desk, you get that too.
darladooner Says:
Rush, it’s not “Democrat Party”; it’s “Democratic Party”
They do that deliberately because, in their minds, if their oppponents are thought of as the Democratic Party, then people will think theirs must not be very Democratic. It’s like refusing to refer to your opponents as the Whig Party because you’e afraid people will think yours is the Bald Party (or something).

Rush is an educated man, he studied politics and is his passion. More than I can say for the tabloid so called Media who caters to the Rich Dems,,,,All about the mooolah
And where did he get that education, on Fixed News?
Please tell us what “Rich Dems” the media caters to. Last I heard 90% of our media outlets were owned by 3-4 major corporations all owned by rich conservatives.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:23 pmWell dbadass, he’s already demonstrated that the truth, as far as he is able to recognize it, is a plaything for him. just like his hero the drug addict Rush.
So I suspect he fears a reasonable conversation. As he should.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:24 pmWhere are the Republicans getting their trolls these days. The current crop are so dumb it’s not even any fun to spar with them.
I guess all the semi-intelligent trolls have recognized their defeat and decided they no longer wanted to make fools of themselves.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:24 pmThe Right aren’t being coy about their desire for things to go wrong. They don’t care how many people get hurt, just so long as it hurts the Democrats. We cannot have a civilized nation with such people living in it, pretending to be our friends and neighbors.

You are right. He is a brilliant liar. And Rush was an obscure talk show host until Clinton, to his ever loving shame, signed the law that allowed media consolidation and conservatives took over 90% of our media. In a level playing field (in other words, a fair fight) there’s no way that Rush could hold his own against progressive talk show hosts. They already beat him in markets where they have the same number of media outlets.
I have a question for you Bloggerny, were you born this dumb or did your mother drop you on your head when you were a child?

And the American public sees this loud and clear. The Republicans really are incapable of learning from their mistakes. Rather than learning, they simply double-down on the things that got them into this mess in the first place. Right now they are putting themselves between a rock and a hard place. If they obstruct the Democrats and throw this country into a depression, they lose. If they obstruct the Democrats and the Democrats are able to make it work anyway, they lose. The only way they could possibly win would be to undergo a complete transformation and start caring more about this country than about themselves and their party.

January 25th, 2009 at 12:36 pm“Rush started many many years ago and worked his way up to what he is now.”
Right after Clinton was re-elected they canceled his TV show. He goes up and down according to his relevance to his core audience, the sub-literates who need him to tell them what to think for the day. Without Rush, they can’t show their faces at their local bar.

Ok, since the “proof is in the pudding”, perhaps you can supply us with proof that Obama listens to Limbaugh.
Obama seeing Limbaugh as a threat? Wow, that’s rich. It actually the other way around. Otherwise why would Limbaugh be turning into a raving lunatic and a traitor, hoping that Obama fails (and thus the US failing).
January 25th, 2009 at 12:39 pmAnd the repugs are not looking for ANY way to oust the Dems? or ANY way to convince themselves that American voters really didn’t MEAN that their support of President Obama was a rejection of BushCo’s 8 years of rapine? No repugs have said that they HOPE President Obama fails (so that the poor, misguided electorate will promptly come back home to Papa Repug)? No repugs are looking for the smallest smidgen of possible blame to hurl in President Obama’s path?
Perhaps the repugs think that “GOP” stands for “God’s Own Party”? EARTH TO RIGHT-WINGERS: the REAL Eagle has landed!

Rush’s core audience is the 22% who still think that Bush was a good President. They are the people who are so insecure they need a strong father figure to tell them what to think. The sad thing for Rush is that his audience is 1) dying off and 2) waking up and realizing what the Republicans with the help of people like Rush have done to this country.

January 25th, 2009 at 12:45 pmThis comment and others the doughbery pill boy has made, along with a similar comment made by Ken Blackwell (corrupt republican from OH) makes one wonder, what horrible end do the GOPers and neocons want for our nation.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:48 pmDems are Republicans in DEM CLOTHING. We need a two party system in this country. Maybe the dems could run Richard Simmons in the next election, candy striped shorts and all.

That’s not exactly right. Rush came to prominence in the ’80’s, after Reagan’s refusal to uphold the fairness doctrine emboldened many small-audience stations, like the one where Rush got his start, into allowing more conservative viewpoints, without rebuttal – which in some minds wasn’t much of an evolution from the religious and John Birch-like anti-communist Southern broadcasters of the ’50’s and ’60’s.
January 25th, 2009 at 12:50 pmWhat Rush just said was probably the most narrow-minded, thoughtless thing I’ve heard him say in a long time. If anything, that proves that the Republicans aren’t focused on getting out of the recession and improving the economy, but committed to a campaign of obstruction. Who loses from this? You and Me, Democrats and Republicans who are suffering, who lost their jobs. But some folks aren’t going to acknowledge what he said and will continue to watch his radio show.

Squush’s concern stops at the teller’s window of his bank. His “patriotism” stops at the election of ANY repug, regardless of the cost to others. He only “wishes the worst” for those American people who have rationally evaluated the results of 8 repug years of demagoguery and have voted to change America’s course. If some among the truly fair-minded and TRULY patriotic Republicans acknowledge that America was, indeed, ready for a new direction in government, you’ll see Squush savaging them the way he is trying to savage every American who voted for something new.

Not all of those believers are imbeciles: they’re just uninformed. As Mulder says, “The truth is out there.” We must continue to be the voice of truth, and truth can’t afford merely to laugh at lies when many well-intended Americans WOULD think through all the lies if we expose them frequently and clearly to the truth.

This statement puts R directly at odds with MIT economics Ph.D. and Nobel Prize winner in economics, Paul Krugman.
R. has no economics degree and no expertise in this area. The nod here goes to Dr. Krugman and most of the other professional economists rather than a drug addled, asinine, ignorant, POS like R.
FYI druggie, government purchases is exactly how to stimulate a depressed economy as anyone earning a passing grade in Principles Macroeconomics knows. And, it has a larger multiplier effect on total spending, output and employment and tax cuts.
In case you don’t remember, because narcotics affect the memory, tax cuts have been tried by those republican asses in which you have your tongue and look where they got us.

Charles Manson was “watched all over the world.” So was Hitler. So was Khadaffffffy. So was “Fear Factor.” So was Jim Jones. So was David Koresh. So were the “Heaven’s Gate” suiciders. So was 9/11. Being “watched all over the world” does NOT equal being sane, being moral, or being right.
Paranoid schizophrenics who see visions and hear voices ALSO “tell the truth about what is going on.” So do victims of multiple personality disorder. It IS truth–in their damaged frames of reference. And all those “liberal” psychiatrists, psychologists, and juries still disagree with “the truth” as spoken by such.
The belief that something spoken or written by the infamous and/or is automatically “truth” simply indicates that the believer, too, has serious problems.

January 25th, 2009 at 1:17 pmRush Limbaugh exemplifies the self-serving, Machiavellian mindset of the far right. Now we see the extent of his self-importance and self-righteousness.
Limbaugh would wish to see countless additional Americans lose their jobs, their retirement savings and their homes, merely so that he could sit back and gloat and the GOP would have a better chance of winning seats in Congress in the next 2 election cycles.
In short, Limbaugh is little more than a bombastic, bellicose blowhard.
January 25th, 2009 at 1:19 pmSew whut? i think Rush iz stoopid an i em A registurd republicane!

January 25th, 2009 at 1:24 pmbloggerny says, You cannot fight mother nature period. . .
So we should level all the dikes that prevent flooding? we should scrap FEMA [which used to do a good job]? we should ignore the earthquake codes for minimizing quake damage? we should denounce the polio and smallpox vaccines? we should dissolve the Red Cross? we should eschew doctors and medications which fight the diseases caused by “mother nature”? we should never allow surgery to correct birth defects caused by “mother nature”? we should let tsunami victims tough it out? we should denounce research aimed at managing Alzheimer’s or any other “natural” condition?
But, in honesty, I must admit one futile example of fighting “mother nature.” She obviously created you a moron–and I’m not sure that you can be remedied.
January 25th, 2009 at 1:24 pmOnce this “stimulus” package goes through the tax burden will be even greater for upper earners and less people will be paying taxes.
Government will be huge, and it will cultivate an enormous population dependent on government and will perpetuate a struggling lower class, who, inturn will continue to vote for the democrats that LOVE to spend other people’s money so they can continue to get elected.
Rush, as usual, is exactly right.
January 25th, 2009 at 1:26 pmFred, just because I refuse to jump in line and fall for this fakery does nothing to prove your insults of me are anything other than hot air. Go ahead and walk lockstep behind your new leader. The Republicans did the same thing and tore this country to small, unrecognizable shreds…kind of like the home mortgages.
January 25th, 2009 at 1:26 pmIf you choose to keep insulting me like a two year old, don’t expect that you will get me to stoop to your level. The difference between you and me is that I see that the new propaganda is the same as the old, just under new management now.
Here it is folks. Right-wing Republican economic theory (propaganda) in a nutshell, higher taxes for the uber-wealthy create poor people.
January 25th, 2009 at 1:30 pmSo rushbutt wants us all to suffer so he can remain relevant to his crowd. God, I hope the right wing renuticans get on the bandwagon. Nothing could do this country more good than for the idiot and his minions to move even further to the right….right over the cliff.

One correction: Machiavelli’s “The Prince” had the good of the STATE OR NATION as its foundation. Squush’s frothing and attacking and lying and smear tactics obviously have no such foundation. His position well illustrates a song from “Li’l Abner”: “What’s good for General Bullmoose is good for the USA.” [I do hesitate to call Squush a "bull" of any sort, since it's an image associated with virility and courage. I COULD make a couple of exceptions: he's irredeemably bull-headed; he treats the Constitution as the proverbial bull treats the proverbial china shop; he's an unending fountain of bull excrement.]

Bloggerny Says:
The proof is in the pudding. Obama’s speech was terrible, used the forum to Bash Bush once again.
How rude of President Obama! Repugs NEVER used ANY forum to bash Obama. How could President Obama stoop so low?
HE allowed racist comments at the party etc. That was Obama’s chance to really show what he;’s made of. I’m afraid he has and it isnt a pretty picture. Again, HOW RUDE of President Obama! No repug EVER did anything so demented as popularizing the song “Barak the Magic Negro.” No repug EVER let that song go out over the air in several televised interviews.
I am giving him the benefit of the doubt however his first executive decision is pathetic, how is that helping the USA? How is your hate-mongering “helping the USA”?
Obama listens to Rush also. I “listen t” rants such as yours because they happen to be part of a thread to which mostly sane bloggers respond. “Listening to” something does NOT mean “assigning importance to” or “agreeing with” that same thing. When I’m with my teenage family members, I “listen to” rap, heavy metal, and “Valspeak.” That does NOT mean that I either enjoy or approve of them.
More than anyone would know believe you me and he knows he’s right on with most everything, that is why Obama sees him as a threat. I’d love to have some proof of this, since you’re stating it as if it were a fact.
And yes, “he [Squush] is right on”–as in “right-wingnut.” strong>If President Obama “sees him as a threat,” it only means that President Obama is prudent: he knows that a perverted minority considers Squush’s rantings to be Holy Writ. More likely, IF President Obama “sees him as a threat” he views Squush as most intelligent persons would view rabies, bubonic plague, drunk drivers, and tetanus as threats.
So, to give credit where credit is due, I suppose that your frothings do merit some consideration. I have just “considerated” them in this post. Enjoy.

No, you are a troll because most of what you say makes no sense at all and that which does makes sense is a lie. Trolls are also defined by making outrageous statements and then refusing to back them up with evidence to support what they said. And said evidence must come from a reliable news source of which Fixed News is not one.

Carter had sanctions against Saddam. They were instantly taken down by Reagan.

We already have a mega-misery index thanks to you and yours. You and yours have already pretty much destroyed this country and what it was built on. I’m not exactly sure how “Berry” could make things any worse than you have already made it.
Apparently you have one of the Republican dictionaries that doesn’t have the word “irony” in it.

So i’m a troll if I dont agree with the majority? Typical liberal response…
No, you’re a troll if you blind yourself to truth, confine yourself to narrow and biased sources, align yourself with right-wing nay-sayers, yet try to define yourself as a thinking human being
January 25th, 2009 at 2:09 pmmega-misery index
We are there now thanks to Booosh.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:10 pmI love the little myths people create to call their history. So just what was this country built on ConservativeNick and how does it compare with the construction materials of other nations?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:11 pmWhy aren’t you apologizing for the last 8 years of failed economic policies?
more personal responsibility from the right?

A. Drug addict College drop out.
B. Nobel Winning PhD. Economist.
Alex, I’ll take B for $200 . . .
January 25th, 2009 at 2:12 pmBilbo, you are confused my friend. I am a liberal/progressive and a proud one at that. That is exactly why I think Obama AND Bush AND the large majority of American politicians are bloviated, stinking bags of horse shit. Don’t go making insulting statements about people you don’t even know, you make yourself look like American politicians. Nobody in their right minds would want to carry that image about them.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:12 pmThe best to you and yours, you seem like a nice fellow.
Nick,
January 25th, 2009 at 2:12 pmIt is literally impossible for Obama to be worse than Dubya. He had 73% disapproval and 81% “country headed in wrong direction”.
The country was built on SMALL government, personal responsibility, little regulation, a dependence on one’s ingenuity – NOT a dependence on a government hand out.
The people of New Orleans depended on their government and look what happened to them- they also voted for an idiot mayor and idiot governor and got what they deserved.
The unfortunate thing now is, we are all going to pay for these idiots in congress that were put there by fools–all of us, successful or not-
And, by the way, under BUSH I’ve been the most successful I’ve ever been- because I depended on ME and no one else.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:20 pmrepublicans and democrats are not the same troll!!!
January 25th, 2009 at 2:23 pmYou really bought that silly elementary school fairy tale didn’t you?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:23 pmWe’ll be taking some of that now, thank you.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:25 pmI can see you weren’t too comfortable when President Obama gave George Bush and the American Taliban a public spanking. Well, guess what? We (liberals, democrats, and rational republicans) were ecstatic! His Inaugural speech was exactly what we and the world were expecting!
January 25th, 2009 at 2:27 pmWell, in fact I had a direct question in the post, which you again ignored.
Let’s see if I can get you to answer a different direct question this time;
you said on here that you were a “registered Democrate”.
We’ll overlook the typo, but you say that Rush is right and “he tells the truth about what is going on,,,Liberals are incapable of listening to common sense”
In the light of this attitude, can you tell us all just what attracts you to register with the Democratic Party?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:27 pmslavery was in that mix of what the country was founded on too. When policies fail, we change them. bush and conservatives have failed. Why aren’t you apologizing for that?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:28 pmI’m sure you will, Fred, and I’m willing to bet you’re one of those standing in line waiting for YOUR handout.
You’ll always struggle, my liberal friend if you depend on someone else.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:28 pmHow are you guys doing with your policies of condescension and broad-brush generalizations?
How’s that working for you?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:29 pmHas Limbaugh discussed the epic and comprehensive failure of his ideology on his show yet? You’d think the results would be a topic of interest to him and his audience. (?)
January 25th, 2009 at 2:30 pmI hope that the Republican party splits.
Half go the Jindal/Palin way, while the other goes with Newt and whoever is dumb enough to run with him.
In 2010, the Democratic party scores 55% of the vote.
Repub part 1 gets 13%. Repub part 2 gets 17%.
What’s this?—> The Green party gets 15% of the vote?
There are now five Green senators.
Republicans shit themselves trying to come together.
In 2012, President Obama is re-elected with 60% of the popular vote. Repub part 1 skitters out with 7%.
Repub part 2 gets 13%. The Green party gets 20%.
The Republican party is forever marginalized, bifurcated and irrelevant, and to annex their base the Democratic party moves to the right.
The Green party is now the opposition party to the right-wing Democratic party, and Jello Biafra is elected President in 2016.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:31 pmif you depend on someone else.
_—–
January 25th, 2009 at 2:31 pmYou know suprisingly little about social primates it seems. Hello, the only reason we aren’t extinct is because we work together.
Do conservatives ever try to pretend that their philosophy is something other than “I’ve got mine; screw you”?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:31 pmYou sure are a dumb one ConservativeDick. We are where we are now because or Reagan’s theory of small government and trickle down economics. We are in the TOILET because idiots like you believe idiots like the Bushes and Rush who tell you this crap works while you’re the country is crumbling around you.
And as far as New Orleans, your vile Republican leaders withheld help from Louisiana so they could accuse the Democrats in power of failing. They didn’t care how many people suffered as long as they could blame their opponents. In short, Bush did the same thing hoping to get votes that Rush is doing by hoping Obama fails. GET IT?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:31 pmThe pervasive selfishsness of conservatives is readily apparent in Conservative Nick’s comments here today.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:33 pm“I got mine, you’re on your own.”
Examples:
Poor? Too bad, here’s a nickel.
Old? You’ve lived your life; don’t look to me in your old age.
Sick? Go find a clinic – there’s one about 30 miles away.
No Insurance? Get a job.
No job? Shoulda planned better.
Can’t afford a good education? Blame your stupid parents.
NO group is MORE condescending (and wrong) then liberals- Puh-Leese. Look at the above posts- look at the sophomoric names Rush is called then repost your retraction.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:33 pmconservative nick- a homeless bush nutnugger who says, “i’ve never done better than under bush. hell, i didn’t even have to pay rent for the last four years since i’ve been living under a bridge since 05″
freakin retard
January 25th, 2009 at 2:33 pmMy friend, you have nailed it. Well done.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:33 pmAt no time in the history of this country has the Republican Party placed the welfare of the nation ahead of the welfare of the party. The GOP would gladly put America through many years of misery if it might gain them power in the future.
Under no circumstances will the GOP be party to any action that any Democratic administration might undertake to improve the lot of the average American. The GOP dug the hole we are in and will only allow it to be dug deeper. Never will they permit the country to climb out.
Every time Dems show that GOP policies are pie in the sky for anyone who is not already rich, the party finds it hard to keep its members in office. They will ardently, zealously and studiously obstruct any action that might improve America’s future. They firmly believe that America belongs to their ilk and that the poor and middle class should never have any real say in this country’s administration.
If you disagree, please cite any and all instances where the GOP took actions that benefited the poor and middle class equally with the rich and powerful.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:34 pmI guess Obama came along 8 years too late. Now, there’s so little left to destroy.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:34 pmConservativeLiar is well LYING, if he had been doing well the last 8 years he’d be invested in the market and would have lost money just like the rest of us. He thinks he’s doing well because he’s living in a double wide instead of his old Ford pickup sitting on block up in the hills.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:35 pmFred is adorable when he is angry.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:35 pmMay God’s love surround you and yours Fred.

All right who called Rush “El Diablo”?
hey, conservative hick,
who penned the term demorats?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:36 pmtick tock tick tock.
Good grief, now he’s channeling Richard Nixon.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:36 pmActually, as you claim, I have been fairly sucessful too but that is coming to and end for all of us because of your failed economic strategies.
Just because I believe is social responsibility does not mean that I am pennyless. That is a naive republican notion that stems from greed.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:38 pmClean water. Sewage treatment. Clean air. Public roads.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:39 pmInsured savings accounts. Job safety.
ConservativeNick made his fortune all by himself, without the help of any of the above benefits, and many others, brought to him by liberals.
I think you’re confused about what the word “condescension” means.
Contrary to what you imply, it is not a synonym for “vulgar” or “crude” or “sophomoric”. Not all negative terms are interchangeable. Most have specific meanings that impart certain information that others do not carry with them.
“Condescending” is you speaking your confidence that Fred is “waiting for a handout” despite knowing nothing about his life, livelihood or personal situation.
“Condescending” is also me talking to you like you’re a barely-literate child but, in my defense, I think your previous comments have given me cause.
So again I ask… how’s that working for ya? Paying dividends at the ballot box or what?

Myth: A Huge Chunk of My Tax Dollars Supports Welfare Recipients
Fact: Welfare Costs 1 Percent of the Federal Budget
Widespread misperception about the extent of welfare exacerbate the problems of poverty. The actual cost of welfare programs-about 1 percent of the federal budget and 2 percent of state budgets (McLaughlin, 1997)-is proportionally less than generally believed. During the 104th Congress, more than 93 percent of the budget reductions in welfare entitlements came from programs for low-income people (Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, 1996). Ironically, middle-class and wealthy Americans also receive “welfare” in the form of tax deductions for home mortgages, corporate and farm subsidies, capital gains tax limits, Social Security, Medicare, and a multitude of other tax benefits. Yet these types of assistance carry no stigma and are rarely considered “welfare” (Goodgame, 1993). Anti-welfare sentiment appears to be related to attitudes about class and widely shared and socially sanctioned stereotypes about the poor. Racism also fuels negative attitudes toward welfare programs (Quadagno, 1994).
Couple of cents on the dollar? Ruining YOUR life?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:41 pmHe’s not really lying. By doing well, he means he found Cheetos on sale at the Dollar Store.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:42 pminnit sweet, conservative hick’s up in here trying to keep the failed repukelican strategy of accusatory defelection alive and well. you know the one: when you make an accusation against someone else before they can make the same accusation (which happens to be the truth) against you.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:42 pmRepublican thought and rhetoric: “Why should I help you? The hole is on YOUR side of the boat!”
January 25th, 2009 at 2:42 pmHere’s what I know and what has worked for me. I did not come from an influential family. I worked hard. I paid my own way. I did what was right. I didn’t have a kid out of wedlock. I didn’t come to work late. I networked. I succeeded. My wife is a stay at home mom – we have 3 kids and I make well over 6 figures a year.
The likes of the never do well like shayne can say whatever they like if it makes them feel a little better in their misery. I have nothing to prove and no reason to lie– it’s truth – see if you can find some in your liberal world of lies.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:42 pmProgressives are more practical than you pie in the sky conservative chumps. We count on the goodness of humanity not God’s love to make this country great. Which is hard with all you selfish Republican b@stards running around crying me, me, me, mine, mine, mine all day.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:42 pmAlexander Hamilton?
January 25th, 2009 at 2:46 pm“I worked hard. I paid my own way.” You didn’t go to public school?
“I did what was right. I didn’t have a kid out of wedlock.” unlike the kid of the woman you supported for vice-president?
“I make well over 6 figures a year.” those who do usually don’t reveal this.
i guess i just debunked the myth of the “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps” repukelican
January 25th, 2009 at 2:46 pmConservativeNick seems to be relying on his wife for handouts. See that bullshit about doing it all on their own never stands up to any real scrutiny.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:46 pmWhen will Limbaugh and his ilk realize they are irrelevant to political thought? I listened to his program the other day…all bombast, no solutions. Sorry Rush, you don’t change, you don’t make a difference.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:46 pmIf you’re not angry at what the republics have done to our country then you are pathetic as well as a member of a shrinking minority. Have fun in your personal hell.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:46 pmThe sadistic, nation destroying, agenda of the unregulated, free market, christian capitalistic, right wing republican party
January 25th, 2009 at 2:47 pmNow lets see. Promote the ruse that unregulated free markets will promote competition and lower prices. Use words like “protectionism, isolationism, socialism, communism, un-American and un-patriotic in an accusatory tone to stigmatize dissenters. Seduce the christian right with the promise of political power by signing on to only two hot button issues that feed into their fears, phobias and prejudices like “right to life” and “protection of marriage” in trade for their mega-church votes. Allow major corporations to merge, monopolize and crush all small business competition until every city in America looks exactly the same. (same stores, restaurants, etc..) Buy off politicians so corporations can receive subsidies for trolling the world for labor at slave wages. Drop all tariffs so the products can be imported at a substantial profit compared to producing it in the states. Get the tax payers to support military action by promoting the export of freedom and liberty in case any other sovereign Govts. decide to get uppity. Associate labor and unions with socialism and un-Americanism thereby weakening them and driving the wage and working conditions in America closer to that of third world countries to decimate American citizen’s purchasing power. Then deregulate lending institutions and extend easy credit for mortgages, auto loans and credit cards. Promote the lifestyles of the rich and famous in every media outlet. Charge interest rates that would make organized crime envious for any minor infraction. Decimate the credit rating of the majority of Americans.
So no American purchasing power, no credit, no buyers for corporation’s products, no credit to keep corporations in business, no more middle class. Huh. I wonder how that happened.
Again ConservativeHICK (I like that one best) you don’t know what you’re talking about. I’ve owned my own business for the last twelve years and have lost half of the money I had invested in mutual funds. You listen to idiots like Rush and O’Reilly who tell you liberals don’t work. Maybe you should keep your yap shut and we’ll just think your an idiot. Or you could keep typing and prove that’s true.

January 25th, 2009 at 2:49 pmYou lost half your mutual fund worth because of your lib buddies giving loans to people that never should have had a home- but you won’t see that, you too mired in your liberal mindlessness and crying over your losses.
You’re weak, as is all liberal argument
January 25th, 2009 at 2:51 pmJoe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.
All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance – now Joe gets it too.
He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.
Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.
He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union.
If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
It is noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university.
Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads.
He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans.
The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to.
Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: “We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.”

After 20 years of column writing, I’m familiar with angry mail. But the past few days have produced responses of a different order. Not just angry, but vicious and threatening.”
“But when we decide that a person is a traitor and should die for having an opinion different from one’s own, we cross into territory that puts all freedoms at risk. (I hear you, Dixie Chicks.)
I’m sure it is coincidence that, upon the Palin column’s publication, a conservative organization canceled a speech I was scheduled to deliver in a few days. If I were as paranoid as the conspiracy theorists are, I might wonder whether I was being punished for speaking incorrectly.”

January 25th, 2009 at 2:58 pmI am surprised that no one has mentioned Rush’s educational record; from Wiki:
Education
Limbaugh graduated from Cape Central High School, in 1969. His father and mother wanted him to attend college, so he enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University. He dropped out after two semesters and one summer; according to his mother, “he flunked everything“, even a modern ballroom dancing class.[4] As she told a reporter in 1992, “He just didn’t seem interested in anything except radio.”
Scarcely the mark of a genius.

January 25th, 2009 at 3:16 pmWe’ve been waiting all day. What’s the problem?
January 25th, 2009 at 3:17 pmThis is a room full of Obama cock-suckers.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:17 pmNothing more.
This drives the Republicans nuts. It’s so easy for them to fool poor rednecks into voting for the rich guy agenda, they can’t understand why they can’t hoodwink African-Americans into voting against their own interests. The funny thing is, the Repug’s strategy for winning the support of blacks is to call them stupid.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:19 pmLush LimpNoodle doesn’t want an America that is a ’shining city on the hill’, he wants an America that’s nothing more than a gated community for the financially elite.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:19 pmI HATE this absolutely spineless bastard Obama UNLIKE MOST LIBERALS I KNOW.
I guess the next 8 years will really suck for you then.
Until there is a third party or some other drastic change in the way the US government is elected and run, you are not going to satisfied at all. You could do something about it by gathering support for your change you can believe in, or you can be viewed as a troll from both ends. Your tact of calling dems effeminate is not convincing people here that your desire for change is very hopeful.
Have a great day.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:19 pmooohhhh the concern troll shows his true colors…shades of repukelican green
January 25th, 2009 at 3:20 pmYou’re not bright enough to be a real progressive, obviously.
Read again what I wrote:
We are saying that your rhetoric doesn’t match the profile of yourself that you would have us believe.
Where does that say anything about “following a profile”?
I’ll explain it to you, if you’re interested:
the “profile” I referred to is the picture of yourself that you woud, have us believe — “progressive”, in short.
Progressives call themselves progressives because they tend to believe in certain values.
Your rhetoric as expressed in your comments stands, in my opinion and the evident opinion of many here, in stark contrast to the familiar ways of looking at the world that are broadly common among self-professed “progressives”.
It’s a judgment call. Something doesn’t jibe between the way you describe yourself and the way you discuss issues here.
Understand now?

Bottom line, libs LOVE to spend other peoples money (like mine) and they are parasites on the poor- keeping them poor with false promises.

You apparently are unaware of the fact that THREE GOOP presidents – Reagan, Bushes I & II – have run up the BIGGEST deficits in the history of the country, and that Bush II ALONE ran up more debt than all other presidents combined.
Who’s spending who’s money?

January 25th, 2009 at 3:23 pmWhat happened to the high ground? I thought you were here to discuss things with other progressives.
I thought you would never stoop to this level, you did say so yourself. Does this mean that everything you said was a lie?
January 25th, 2009 at 3:24 pmHere’s another bottom line for you bleeding heart, feel good, short term thinkers.
We have not had an attack on our soil since 9/11. Now this IDIOT of a president want’s to close gitmo and give the sub-human cretins there American rights. I hope they house these demons in every bastion of liberal ameraca.
We’ll see how safe we are in 6 months
January 25th, 2009 at 3:24 pm263
ConservativeNick isn’t gonna like that.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:26 pmActually I do because it’s so true- I LOVE truth
January 25th, 2009 at 3:28 pmThat’s the point. Reagan and the Bushes didn’t spend his money, they spent his children’s and grandchildren’s money. The joke’s on them, suckers!

January 25th, 2009 at 3:32 pmI wouldn’t have pegged you as an Obama cocksucker
Sure you do, you act just like every other conservative trying to pass for a “concerned progressive” instead of the low life troll he is. I bet you’re dumb enough to think we’ve never seen your type before.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:32 pmThese guys got American rights:
Last World Trade Center bombing conspirator sentenced
Eyad Ismoil gets 240 years, $10 million fine
January 25th, 2009 at 3:33 pmDon’t worry about it. You will have drowned in your own piss long before 6 months.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:36 pmWow! Has the failure of Bush even affected the 23% who now realize that it’s more expedient to say that they’re “Democrates?” (Sounds like a Greek philosopher if you change 2 letters)
277 – so sayeth the Dittohead who wouldn’t know the truth if it hit him in the ass…
January 25th, 2009 at 3:37 pmRush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are the most dangerous people in America. They are responsible for so much polarizing and ignorance and they should be ashamed of themselves. I think what we’re going to see with Obama is a more palatable presentation of liberal ideas that simply work better and most Americans will see this with their own eyes and this country will finally begin to move forward and not backward.
Republitards… you’re days are numbered, you’re a dying breed. Good riddance!

___________
Well, according to the pants wetters on Faux Snooze, we’re already more unsafe, and it’s only been 6 days since Obama took office.
It’s curious, how righties like to phrase it that way… “since 9/11″. It’s like they’re desperately trying to pretend that Botch didn’t even take office until 9/12.
As for Gitmo… yeah, we’re gonna make sure the detainees get moved into YOUR neighborhood, even into the double-wide right next to yours. We’re gonna make sure they’re on welfare, get section 8 rent checks every month.
Heh… they’ll be votin’ Dem the rest of their lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 25th, 2009 at 3:39 pm9/11 happened more than eight months into Bush’s term. Yet you guys said it was Clinton’s fault.
So if we have an attack within six months, than by your own standards, it’s Bush’s fault.
Right? I mean, you wouldn’t hold a Democrat to a higher standard than you would a Republican, would ya?
January 25th, 2009 at 3:39 pmYou scapegoat the poor who work 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet as welfare queen deadbeats who suck the life out of your taxpayer dollars, just the idea the top 1% in this country want you to have, while they go steal your dollars and evade their share of the tax burden. Why have enemies in this class warfare when the rich already have their willing sheep who would go slit their throats?

January 25th, 2009 at 3:41 pmHey Obama, which other parts of the progressive agenda are you willing to slaughter in order to get some more “support” from the conservatives who wrecked this country for eight years??
January 25th, 2009 at 3:42 pmObama, do you not understand that conservatives don’t support anything?? Do you not understand that conservatives will NEVER stand by you?? Do you not understand that conservatives are scoundrels of the earth and evil obstructionists that will get you wrapped around their finger just to rape the country AGAIN?? Do you NOT UNDERSTAND that you have no will to fight for the country you claim to love?? Or are you just a corporate shill at worst and fake at best??
Obama, you don’t get it. Get off your high horse and let a real progressive teach you how to put a fist in the mouths of scumbag conservatives.
Grrr!
January 25th, 2009 at 3:45 pmThe more I read liberal thought and argument the more I think we’re doomed.
We’ll see- I’m confident in MY abilities regardless of who is in office- for me it would be easier if it were a staunch Republican, but I will not cry either way.
I leave you this, my misguided liberal fools- every last person who is struggling and poor today will be worse off after this clowns term- they will not have advanced one step. If those idiots couldn’t make it during a time of rising stock market prices and essentially full employment, they won’t make it.
The losers that were poor at the start of the Clinton administration were poor when he left office 8 years later and now they are STILL poor and their kids are poor and their grand kids are poor (and no on know who anyone’s father is). Depend on the government and your doomed.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:45 pmI guess lagerblager is worried that we’re on to him and feels the need to burnish his “progressive” cred.
I think it’ll work. Color me convinced.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:47 pmI guess Conservative Nick is exhibit A of the compassionate conservative…
January 25th, 2009 at 3:49 pm295, just because you think that the whole of the United States consists of just the top 1% doesn’t mean you can ignore everyone else who suffered through the Bush years…
At least I can rest easy knowing that I’m not someone who willingly swallows hook and sinker the stereotypes that these elitists perpetrate on you so that they can shift blame away from their policies to convenient scapegoats.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:49 pmConservativeNick… you’re plain and simple an idiot! People like you really are what’s wrong with the world today. You make absolutely no sense whatsoever and you regurgitate neo-clown talking points. Try and think on your own you primordial life form.
I have a theory that liberals are simply smarter more evolved human beings. They can easily step out of the picture frame in order to see the whole picture. Your nose is stuck. Scientists aren’t quite sure when Neanderthals bridged over to Homo Sapiens. My theory is that Neanderthals still exist today in the form of religious, right-wing, warring neo cons.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:50 pmFirst of all, I’m pretty sure you don’t really read very well.
Here’s an interesting fact; there are more of these “struggling and poor” folks today than there were eight years ago.
A lot more. Five million more between 2001 and 2006.
So did Bush policies cause five million more people to get lazy?
January 25th, 2009 at 3:52 pmExcept millions more of them had jobs when Clinton left office, can you say the same after bush left office?
January 25th, 2009 at 3:53 pmWhy yes, that is the subject of this story. You finally get it.
Limbaugh against stimulus because its success could hurt GOP’s electoral chances in the same way FDR’s New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule.
The GOP is doomed.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:53 pmconservative hick<——been doing nothing but pissing and moaning since his first post but states “i won’t cry either way”?
January 25th, 2009 at 3:54 pmgood luck with that
A-photo- you’re the idiot. How do you define success? For me it’s achieving what you set out to get, and I’m there, AND I’m not done- how can that possibly make me an idiot?
As far as compassion- here’s what is compassion- let people fail and learn on their own- EVERYONE in this country can be a success. The sin is making people dependent- like household dogs that can’t make it on their own.
Think about that for a bit before you post something stupid again.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:54 pmlagerblager Says:

Shorter lagerblager: Or at least applaud when I bend over and stick my head up my own Cheney!
January 25th, 2009 at 3:55 pmAnd when Clinton left office, there were seven million fewer living in poverty than when he took office.
I guess this means Bill Clinton’s policies inspired seven million lazy people to get up off their lazy butts and get a job!
January 25th, 2009 at 3:56 pmIf we’re doomed, it was by the gop in the last 8 years.
Once again, where is the new era of economic prosperity that bush promised as a result of his tax and deregulation policies.
If you can’t ansewer a simple question or take responsibility then you can’t be taken seriously. You can’t have the car tonight.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:56 pmConNick,
Republican presidents increase welfare rolls.
Dem presidents reduce welfare rolls.
Repub presidents spend more.
Dem presidents spend less.
Reagan, Bush, and Bush increased size of government.
Clinton decreased size of government.
Job growth rate improves everytime going from Repub to Dem administration.
Job growth rate worsens everytime going from Dem to Repub administration.
Clinton created 22 million jobs.
Dubya created fewer than 3 million jobs.
First 200 years, national debt $900 billion.
After Reagan and GHWB, debt $4.1 Trillion.
$5.4 Trillion end of Clinton (record surpluses).
$11 Trillion end of Dubya ($1.2 Trillion deficit FY 2009).
End of Carter, US #1 in trade surplus.
3 years into Reagan, US #1 trade deficit.
Under Carter, US #1 in social mobility and standard of living.
Many European countries have better social mobility and higher standard of living than US today.
All of these are FACTS and will be in any decent almanac!

January 25th, 2009 at 3:58 pmJust 20 million more had jobs when Clinton left office. That doesn’t count.
January 25th, 2009 at 3:58 pmDear Rush (it’s interesting that your name matches your former drug addiction)
I know that you hope Obama “fails” — is this because – AFTER 8 YEARS – BBBBUUSSHHHH FAILED — miserably – and in 6 of those years the country was controlled (in all three branches of government) by the conservative idiots who couldn’t hit water if they fell out of a boat? And then — you smoke your $50 cigars while playing golf and get paid your $20 Million dollars — and pretend you’re not part of the Republican elite that got us into this mess. Why don’t you want to pay your fair share of taxes to improve this country? You’re a traitor and an example of your Neocon Republican party – you’re part of our AMERICAN TALIBAN

January 25th, 2009 at 4:01 pmIt’s just like Rush (who embodies, I think the mentality of most Republicans)to put his political affiliation before the rest of the country.
January 25th, 2009 at 4:01 pmRush is still under the impression that he knows everything. The only real solution to people like that is to not listen to them. He’s hot air, a wind bag.

January 25th, 2009 at 4:03 pmNow we’re clowns, although nicky and his gang of thieves ran the country into a ditch which most assuradly killed many jobs. You do read the papers don’t you nicky?

Before that, there were no foreign terrorist attacks; approximate 200 years.
People smarter than you and me have said that Bush and his neocon policies have made us less safe – it is only a matter of time. Or do you think you are smarter than people who study this for a living?

January 25th, 2009 at 4:11 pmI’ve had fun toying with you libs. Do yourselves a favor- become successful, delve for the truth, be self reliant, be CONSERVATIVE. It’s the only way to go.
I wonder how many of you struggle- most libs I know find it difficulty to make ends meet, and all conservatives I know are quite successful- figure out what you’re doing wrong. ANYONE can be a success, it’s just enormously more difficult with liberal views (unless you’re some Hollywood idiot).
January 25th, 2009 at 4:12 pmMr. Nick — sure he does — he scams the poor fools who believe he speaks the truth (you being one of them) – who believe he wants to ‘heal’ the country (he only wants to continue dividing it – that’s the only way he can survive) – who believe he has a ‘better idea’ (if he has a better idea than a Nobel Prize winning economist, then tell us Rush) – when he only wants to make sure he continues to make his $400 million dollars – what does he give back to America in REAL value —- nothing.
January 25th, 2009 at 4:13 pmOh- and Keith- please don’t call me middle class, thank you, in advance
January 25th, 2009 at 4:14 pmReally? Limbaugh doesn’t talk poor rednecks into supporting tax cuts for the top 1% income earners? I thought that was one of his main themes.
January 25th, 2009 at 4:15 pmConservativeNick Says:
Here’s what I know and what has worked for me. I did not come from an influential family. I worked hard. I paid my own way. I did what was right. I didn’t have a kid out of wedlock. I didn’t come to work late. I networked. I succeeded. My wife is a stay at home mom – we have 3 kids and I make well over 6 figures a year.
So. I did all the same things. I don’t make over 6 figures a year because I chose a profession in a helping field rather than one to just make big bucks. The difference between you and me is that I care about my fellow citizens who didn’t have the same breaks and opportunities I had. I also realize that we can’t make this country better if we don’t all pull together.
But now, even though I am debt free except for my mortgage, I could easily lose everything I have built up thanks to you and yours. If I were to lose my job and not immediately find another (which is quite likely because of the state of the economy and my age), I would have to sell my house and live off the capital. And there would go my retirement.
You are a very sad human being. I would say “may god have mercy on your soul”, but you have made it very obvious you don’t have a soul.

January 25th, 2009 at 4:15 pmIt’s easy to be sucessful if you are willing to hold someone’s life hostage for money. Libs as you call them have a different morality than you.

Second, there were THREE Vince Foster investigations carried out by Republicans—all saying it was suicide and it happened in the park.
Ok, ConservativeNick, Bloggerny was given the chance to prove he is not a troll by answering a direct question, but he apparently is not up to the challenge. So are you? If so, answer this question:

Do you suppose that ol’ Nick took advice from mentors who talked like that in his life, and that’s why he thinks the way he does today?
it makes sense.
January 25th, 2009 at 4:21 pmThat was fun, but I have to go now.
Thanks ConservativeNick, it’s hard to find a good straightman.
January 25th, 2009 at 4:22 pmWell, Nick
Here’s one interesting thing from Rush’s website — his own words
Now what’s interesting about Rush is his ability to “almost lie” — I’m assuming he means Bush (Dubya and the Republican Congress from 2001 – 2006) and Clinton and in Clinton’s case the country was left with a surplus of money and jobs —- so he’s a liar but doesn’t really want to put ALL of the blame on his own conservative cronies. You, like your American Taliban comrades, change the rules when it’s to your advantage so nothing is a lie. Oh, and those 6 figures you make to support your family — whom do you f*#k and use and abuse every day to get it?

The irony is that dittoheads are the people who mock Obama’s supporters for worshipping the Messiah — and apparently believe that listening to Rush for a week is enough to brainwash anyone.
Sorry, but I’ve listened to him enough to know that he’s a liar and a pompous manipulating liar at that.

You mean, for watching the Fat Man wave his arms spastically in the while he ridicules Michael J Fox?
Or when Rush talks about dropping his pants, bending over, and grabbing his ankles over Obama’s black daddy?
Now, that last one is a Freudian psychologist’s dream-come-true. Kinda ’splains why Rush is always getting his picture taken sucking on something long, stiff, and brown… no, you silly his CIGAR!!!

Here’s a list from Media Matters. Admittedly they are a liberal site, but read them anyway and tell us where Media Matters is wrong on Limbaugh’s lies:

And another:

Another list from Media Matters:

Again, you can’t discount it because it’s on a liberal site. Tell us where the untruth is in Media Matters debunking Limbaugh’s lies.
Then, if you dare, do a Google search on “Rush Limbaugh’s Lies”. You will get 910,000 hits.

January 25th, 2009 at 4:34 pmBilbo- again with the idiotic post..
That, of course taken out of context, refers to what SHARPTON said about Barry. that’s the whole point of the magic negro song- that song had nothing to do with your CHOSEN one, it had everything to do with the “rev” – but keep reading that liberal garbage– you’re hopeless anyway- a mind lost to liberalism.

January 25th, 2009 at 4:36 pmIn response to #347– Rush (and I) want BO’s liberal AGENDA to fail because it will absolutely distroy this country- or at the very least what this country has always been.

Get a grip, you libs- look deeper and try to analyze a topic before you post something so silly.

By Paul Krugman
Published: November 10, 2008
Suddenly, everything old is New Deal again. Reagan is out; F.D.R. is in. Still, how much guidance does the Roosevelt era really offer for today’s world?
The answer is, a lot. But Barack Obama should learn from F.D.R.’s failures as well as from his achievements: the truth is that the New Deal wasn’t as successful in the short run as it was in the long run. And the reason for F.D.R.’s limited short-run success, which almost undid his whole program, was the fact that his economic policies were too cautious.

Do you consider a $3 trillion taxpayer bailout for Wall Street shysters “tough love”?

January 25th, 2009 at 5:15 pmAccording to Mush Lardbutt…”Obama’s plan would buy votes for the Democrat Party, in the same way FDR’s New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule”
Sounds good to me. Democrats controlled the government for 50 years, lost it for 12, now they’ll control it for another 50 years. I seriously doubt though that the Republican party will still be around to retake control in 2060 as Mush is predicting.
January 25th, 2009 at 5:15 pmI predict that because of their stubbornness to stay the course and because of seats that they are naturally going to lose after the 2010 redistricting, they are going to pretty much be extinct after 2012.
That’s really what Mush is worried about because once that happens his career is over.

Fortunately for this country the percentage of people who think like this one and it’s ilk is in the low 20% and dropping daily. That’s why Limpballs is getting so hysterical. He’s seeing his audience 1) getting old and dying off and 2) getting smart and understand what he is really all about. Soon when Clear Channel needs to start cutting shows in markets, I think that Limpballs will be the one who will be cut. Clear Channel is, after all, a business and they see that where the markets are equal, progressive talk show hosts pull more of the market than Limpballs does.

I don’t know about you but I find it annoying that any talk show host or politician could come right out and say “I hope this president fails”. That’s treason in my book. And if he really does just oppose the stimulus package for economic reasons then why doesn’t he tell us what grand ideas he has to fix the economy, you know, the economy that he helped the Republicans run into a ditch.

I think Obama’s Health Care plan will solidify Democrats superiority for decades. Just like the UK’s Labour party after they nationalized their health care.
One the American People get access to guaranteed health care, there will be no way back for republicans.
January 25th, 2009 at 6:52 pmAgree 100%. Worst thing I’ve heard in a long, long time. But I’m just nitpicking this particular post about Limbaugh opposing the stimulus b/c of the political angle. Don’t like it.
January 25th, 2009 at 7:06 pmWow was this one hell of a whack a troll party every time they post they remind me why the GOPigs will continue to fail.
January 25th, 2009 at 7:44 pmIf it saves the economy, the Republicans will not be able to regain power and legislate more tax cuts for Limbaugh.
January 25th, 2009 at 8:13 pmThis from RNC chair candidate Ken Blackwell:
“…[Blackwell] seemed most concerned about the political benefit Democrats might see from successfully boosting the economy. He warned that the bill, which calls for 80 percent job creation in the private sector, could create 600,000 new federal jobs — a problem because it would make it that much harder for for Republicans to win…”
“The bottom line is that, in an economy that lost 1.2 million jobs last year, Blackwell’s biggest concern is to block the creation of new jobs because those newly-employed Americans might vote Democratic.”
Bear this in mind whenever assessing Republican intentions on most any topic. They want POWER and MONOPOLY. They will do anything to “win”. They will sacrifice working people without any hesitation in order to do it. We mean NOTHING to them but our labor is handy since most of these people do NO actual work for themselves, but not really vital. A non-organized subservient underpaid class made up of the entirety of the working populace is just fine with them. If one were to examine the Republican party’s history they will begin to resemble a criminal cabal bent on overthrowing the American Republic and replacing it with fascist oligarchy. They have been quite consistent in this and have enlisted even sectarian religions in this effort.

January 25th, 2009 at 10:15 pmLeave poor Rush alone,
He is just following orders he gets via the daily GOP briefing talking point memo. It is like the Nuremburg Defense. He did those horrible things because he was told by his superiors to do them.
Poor (man breasted) Limbaugh doesn’t have the spine to act on his own. He admits he uses only, ” half a brain “.
Recall after the ‘06 elections with that thumping Bush described? WEll, it was Rush who got on his radio show and proclaimed, “he wasn’t going to carry water for the republicans anymore”.
Rush forgot that the GOP makes sure that those corporations that want their agenda to go forward in congress must advertise on “the Rush Limbaugh show” via Clear Channel. That is my opinion and outlook. Oh, it is all legal and all. Just like the legalized mortgage ponzi scheme that was legislated legal by deregulaton of the laws in place to stop that very crisis from occuring again.
You know what should be insult to injury,
That the republicans always say the “risk takers” make what they do and work hard for their money and should not have to pay taxes because of the risk they take of losing it. Well they lost it and although welfare (socialism) is over, the banks and loan sharks that get low interest money from the FED window (none of us are able to go to that window of low interest)that they can charge others higher prices for said Federal loaned (tax dollar)money.
Keep in mind, these businesses wanted and recieved from republicans and some democrats, the law change that made it difficult for the average guy to file bankruptcy and left alone the corporations responsibilities.
So here republicans are giving out welfare to financial criminals that lobbied congress into making their crimes legal and they get the welfare and regular Americans get the bill and the scorn for even asking for Gov’t help. As the corporate welfare becomes incredibly overwhelming for the world economy let alone the United States.
The average America loses his job and his home and has to wait for an unemployment check and can only recieve enough to eat for a minimal amount of time. Compared tp corporate exec’s that screw the pooch, get billions handed to them no questions ask, give themselves bonus’. Are force to rename the bonus’s “retention costs”, use new recieve tax dollars as income to lobby congress over taxpayers, extravigant/exotic business meetings, buying out their competition, laying off their american employees while diverting the work to overseas firms, hiring visa “B” ’s to replace Americans at lower wages, increasing their golden parachutes, base salaries and lastly but not limited to their offshore accounts that hide their money from paying their share of taxes they in turn recieve from those like us for their reckless ineptitude of their managing skills they are paid so well for.
Republican ideology, yipee-do. here we are.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:22 pmUnlike Obama, I want more than change………!
The culture of corruption Republicans aren’t interested in any “economic stimulus package” that doesn’t exclusively funnel money into the hands of their crony corporate pals and lobbyist friends.
Great evil has befallen our democracy and that evil goes by the name Republican Party.
Bush and Cheney steal into the White House in January 2001 and immediately call for tax cuts for wealthy Republican financiers while holding secret energy task force meetings attended by many of these same wealthy Republican financiers.
Bush and Cheney pack our federal government with right-wing political hacks whose idea of public service and being a public servant only involves directing as much taxpayer money as possible to their fellow culture of corruption Republicans, which requires trashing pre-Bush/Cheney federally-mandated bidding guidelines and replacing these with no-bid contracts.
Because of Republican neo-Fascist partisan antics and their turning our federal government over to Republican-leaning lobbyists, whose only goal was to put more taxpayer money into the pockets of their “titans of industry” Republican masters and Republican Party benefactors, our nation is now in the midst of an economic meltdown, with the culture of corruption Republicans rolling out last September their idea of an economic stimulus plan, Paulson’s bail-out, which primarily directed taxpayer money into the pockets of “titans of industry” Republicans.
So, of course, Republicans, remaining true to their neo-Fascist totalitarian template, are now going to block any attempts to undo everything that they’ve sought to achieve over the past eight years (that is, a permanent Republican majority) by using every obstructionist tool and trick possible.
Bush and Cheney threw bi-partisanship out the window when they entered office, because bi-partisanship is hardly the way to build a “permanent Republican majority,” just as the Communists realized after the Russian Revolution that bi-partisanship was hardly the way to build a “permanent Communist majority,” just as the Nazis during the 1930s realized that bi-partisanship was hardly the way to build a “permanent Nazi majority.”
But a majority of patriotic American voters spoke in the last two election cycles.
And yet, die-hard culture of corruption Republicans, still clinging to their dream of a “permanent Republican majority” with all the totalitarianism that that thought entails, cannot stomach the idea that our new president, Barack Obama, and his administration might actually be bi-partisan in nature, giving rise to an “economic stimulus plan” that (unlike Paulson’s) would spread the wealth among small and medium-sized businesses across our country, without regard to whether a Republican or Democrat owns that business. Moreover, these neo-Fascist Republicans view President Obama’s intention of using some of Paulson’s remaining bail-out money to help out financially-strapped states, with no regard to whether or not that state has a Republican or Democratic governor, is giving Republican strategists fits.
The culture of corruption Republicans view any attempt to undercut their nefarious plan of directing taxpayer money only to “their kind” as a threat to their “permanent Republican majority” wet dream, so must be stopped…even though many Republicans will benefit from President Obama’s economic stimulus plan. You see, it’s the idea that many Democrats, along with our entire country, will benefit as well that really, really sticks in the neo-con Republicans craw. Which makes this ultra-partisan, “permanent Republican majority” stunt that these neo-con Republican strategists are pulling look that much more dangerous and insane.
January 25th, 2009 at 10:23 pmOne of the many truths you speak, Wizard is that of the packing of hack, cronies and theives by Bush and Cheney.
Just look at secretary of state. Two oil men hire an exec secretary from Exxon/Mobil? She has a Oil Tanker named after her for George’s sake.
And the republicans are holding up Eric Holder’s nomination vote for a week? To see if they can cause him to commit to what legal or illegal offenses will or will not be investigated by a Holder Dept of Justice?
They are sick and how they woo their average everyday American into believing that the GOP mantra’s as “Free Market” which does and never will exist. Is beyond my craniums capacity.

OH MY GOD. The STUPID was so thick in your posts that it actually burned my eyes. I had to take a break and put ice packs on my eyes. Please do the world a favor and wear uranium jockey shorts for a few years. Our gene pool can do without the corruption of your stupidity.
January 26th, 2009 at 7:17 amOne thing about a Limbaugh thread. It brings out the absolute stupidest people on the PLANET to defend him. Only morons of galactic level stupidity let the Oxymoron do their thinking for them anyway but it takes SPECIAL stupid to surf the web looking to defend the propagandistic whore

January 28th, 2009 at 1:23 pmI rest my case with this man, his dwindling followers and all the republicans voting against this stimulus package. It’s ALL ABOUT THEIR PARTY….not about the people! And, the mass majority (including this Christian Small-Business Owner Republican) are SICK of it, we’re wise to it and it won’t fly any longer. No, President Obama is not the Messiah…however, Lord willing, he seeks HIM out for wisdom to bring us out of the mess that’s been left him by the former party.
January 28th, 2009 at 1:30 pmIs Soros paying y’all well?
January 29th, 2009 at 10:00 amI’m good at blogging — do you think George Soros will pay me to write this crap too?
January 29th, 2009 at 10:01 amIt should be a pretty secure job working for Soros, because he has his money hidden overseas to avoid taxes.
How much of a hit do you think Soros took when he crashed Lehman?
January 29th, 2009 at 10:02 amHe is just following orders he gets via the daily GOP briefing talking point memo. It is like the Nuremburg Defense. He did those horrible things because he was told by his superiors to do them.
thanks
