There aren’t building permits sitting around, at TxDOT for example, just “waiting for funding” as you simply put it. The process of getting a permit for “infrastructure” work is long and tedious and the must be the budget from the previous fiscal year for anything past design development to take place. After that, it takes months if not years to produce the construction documents and then there is the process in order to get approval and a permit to begin construction.

For a supposed architect, you sure don’t know much about construction.

So, answer the question. Which should be more important, courtesy or opposition to hypocrisy and sexism.

After all, doesn’t the old saying among those of us on the left go, “Well behaved women rarely make history?”

You walk into a house to hear the owner speak. He delivers an impassioned appeal for human rights and the basic dignity of his “fellow man” and then, afterwords, invites his guests to join him in the parlor for a discussion of his remarks, during which he claps his hands and servants come hurrying forward, eyes-downcast to serve refreshments. When you attempt to confront him about this apparent hypocrisy, he declares that you have violated his hospitality and has you unceremoniously removed from the premises.

Now, who did the right thing here? Should you, in such a case, be silently complicit in hypocrisy out of common courtesy?

Then why should you expect such behavior here on the ‘net?

My point is, that there is something inherently sexist in this particular guideline which they’ve established and that therefore it is hypocritical in the context of an organization and a website which have such a clear record of combating sexism and decrying censorship–two facts for which I usually praise them.

Long story short, I am not a fan of sexism, hypocrisy and censorship, no matter who is doing it.

Actually, I think I’ve seen a site dedicated to the latter somewheres on the internets…
