I am not complaining. Overall I think the bill is fine but it should not be rushed out the door without examining the little details that will bite you later.

There is no downside to wind and solar they dont have the dangers of nuclear. I am all for doing the research for fusion but todays reactors have too much downside. Wind and solar would also create jobs not to mention we could push the research to the point WE are light years ahead of the rest of the world in green energy production. Let me give you some math about US deficit. There is not just one person or party to be blamed.

The problem is using that to complain about this bill. The difference between the spending before and the spending now is that this spending will give us something to show for it.

Let me give you a simple analogy: let’s say you nearly max out your credit card going to movies and restaurants. Then, realizing how indebted you are, you decide you need to get some income. This is like buying an interview outfit because all of your clothes are old t-shirts and cutoffs. You can complain that you’re already so much in debt that you should stop spending, but the fact remains that you have to actually invest in order to fix the problem of your broke-ness.

So Republicans whine about Democratic spending? They’re the ones who blew the vast majority of that deficit on pew-pew-boom-boom good times. Which would be fine if they didn’t already smash the economy to hell. Now we have to get the economy back on its feet, and that requires investment, period. The significant difference here is between stupid overspending and intelligent investment. Republicans do the former, Democrats the latter.

Thus, Republicans are in no position to complain about the current slate of Democratic spending initiatives.
