O’Reilly and Miller announce new ‘business partnership’: ‘Waterboarding World’

Last night on Fox News, host Bill O’Reilly and former comedian Dennis Miller announced a new “business partnership.” “We’re opening a theme park: Waterboard World,” O’Reilly said. Funnyman Miller explained how the park would help in efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions:

MILLER: You know, I had a caller on my show, Bill today, the radio show, a guy named A.J. from Milwaukee. He had the best take on this. He said change the public relations of waterboarding, say that people are emitting too much CO2 and when you pour water down their nose, it cuts into their CO2 exhalation.

O’REILLY: So it’s better for the planet.

MILLER: You can call it greenboarding. And we could sell it. Greenboarding! There you go!

Watch it:

Miller concluded the segment by singing to the tune of the Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ USA,” —
“If everybody had a cheesecloth across the USA.” As actual comedian David Cross once observed of Miller, “You truly are the king of references.”

I remember when Dennis Miller was actually somewhat funny. That is another way of saying “I am really old”.

    “former comedian Dennis Miller”

You got that right. He used to be funny. Now, he’s just a jerk.

  4. rogerD says:

This is what passes for humor in rightwing world. Could be why Miller is a part-timer on Fixed Noise.

  5. NoMoreBush says:

Didn’t Dennis Miller’s relevance expire something like 15 years ago? Just askin.

  6. cmac says:

Dennis Miller is painful to watch. I wish he’d stop humiliating himself.

This is absolutely SICK, there’s just no other way to put it. How can people watch this?

I know, Miller and BillO would confess to the assassinations of Lincoln, JFK, RFK, and Gandhi if they faced waterboarding. These two hacks define subhuman.

  12. shoeless says:

Sounds like there was an excess of hot air on Fox News last night.

  13. sectionop92 says:

Dennis Miller is proof you don’t need to make horrible movies, rack up the DUI’s/have a drug problem or force yourself on women to totally fall off the comedy/career radar.

Thinking you’re funny on Billo’s show is about as bad as irony can get.

  19. Dredd says:

Perhaps they should read this case where two Texas sheriffs and two deputies were sent to prison for waterboarding.

It was the year Big Brother was born, 1984. At the trial one of the deputies asserted the Nuremberg defence to no avail:

    Just Following Orders

its unimaginable that anyone would find humor in that. how far removed from reality must one be to find this amusing?

what sick bastards these men are.

  22. Purple State says:

It’s time to turn the whole concept of misinterpretation on its ear:

O’Reilly is advocating the practice of waterboarding on children.

See? We can stretch the truth too, BillO! You sick bastard.

  23. sectionop92 says:

At this point is anyone else getting a notion that the Billo’s of the world partake in waterboarding parties as a fetish?

  24. misshusseinmolly says:

I’m sure Miller thought he was being hilariously funny, but I’m agog that he apparently doesn’t realize that “humor” this sick belongs more on South Park coming out of Cartman’s mouth.

On the other hand, maybe the Bill-o show is on a par with that…

  25. StratRat says:

So this is your modern GOP? The law and order party? The party of tough guys? The party of Reagan, Wayne, Heston, etc? The part who seems scared of their own shadows? The party where men are men and sheep are nervous?

    Yep, sounds about right.

  27. dixie blood says:

I worked on SNL when D. Miller was there. He was and still is an insufferable sob. It’s really hard to think of bigger a$$holes than this tool.

He thinks he’s more hip than any room he’s ever walked into. Actually, his turds are more hip in his own bathroom.

  28. Hoodathunk says:

So now what? Do we look forward to a new reality serious on Faux? A dozen people in a dungeon vying to have the others waterboarded before they get booted? Just to prove it isn’t torture?

I hate to give them ideas.

  29. JosephP says:

I am always annoyed when waterboarding is referred to as “simulated” drowning. There is nothing simulated about it. In fact, it is actual controlled drowning—water fills the lungs and causes suffocation. The victim is merely revived before actual death occurs. Of course this is torture. The United States justly executed Japanese during WWII who performed this exact torture on US servicemen. Now we learn that the Bush administration recently performed this procedure on prisoners at a modern gulag created by the US.

I realize that this is really a propaganda effort by Fox news to dissuade the masses about the seriousness of waterboarding which occurred during the Republican’s watch. Still, the fact that grown men can be laughing and making jokes about this procedure (jokes that were non-funny even notwithstanding the subject) is obscene.

  30. StratRat says:

In the old days – when our country had a soul and a spine – words supporting and encouraging torture would have been deemed ‘out of line’ and almost always repudiated on the spot. Now? Scared GOPr’s use torture as a punch line.

We have fallen so far as a country. Will we eve find our way back?

  31. BrianFL says:

Yeah….haha….hahahaha….destroying the image of the United States is so darn funny. Putting our troops at risk of torture because our own government engaged in it is just so hilarious. Authorizing war crimes gives me such a belly laugh.

….former comedian indeed. I’d put O’Reilly in that same category. His show must be some kind of parody of a know-nothing blowhard. It’s pretty bad when even young Hollywood actresses like Jessica Alba know more about history than you do. http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2009/01/28/2009-01-28_jessica_alba_bill_oreilly_doesnt_know_hi-1.html

  32. LizCoro says:

When a comedian is reduced to doing RW RADIO and commentary for Falafel Man, your career is pretty much down the terlet . .

When was the last time Miller appeared in Vegas, anyone know?

  33. Hoodathunk says:

Actually, I would love to see one person who claims waterboarding is ok go on national TV and let professionals run the drill on them. If it isn’t torture, they should be willing to demonstrate it before the public.

I would be willing to bet it would happen the day after Santa personally delivers the Red Ryder BB gun into my own hands that he never has brought.

  34. ElBruce says:

How far is FAUX Noise from having a neo-Nazi themed show? I mean, at what point do you have to get to before someone says “this is simply unnaceptable for televised public discourse.” At what point of evil do these filth have to get to before society at large simply shuns them outright? I don’t know, but I’m just dying to find out.

    Stay classy, Republicans.

Oh, I’d have to disagree with that. This was the time when SNL had Mike Myers, Phil Hartman, Chris Rock, Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Al Franken, and David Spade – BEFORE they all started making shitty movies.

  36. Hoodathunk says:

HT, that crew was never even as close to funny as the original.

  37. Shayne says:

So basically they’re saying they don’t espouse water boarding to keep us safe from terrorist they just think drowning somebody is no big deal. Nice.

  38. gudin says:

Someone should waterboard both of them. Maybe we could get them to admit to all sorts of heinous things (we all know they are completely dishonest borderline (?) criminals, but what the heck, lets force them to confess to whatever they think we want to hear just so we stop).

Yep, I’m sure they make lots of jokes about it then.

  39. margerine says:

Whether they’re as funny as the original cast doesn’t matter much. Most of the ‘94 cast members were arguably more funny than Miller.

    _____________

I agree that the term tends to understate the barbaric nature of the procedure, but it’s still somewhat accurate. By definition, drowning means “to kill by suffocation in water or other liquid.” It’s not technically drowning if the victim lives.

Perhaps it would be better described as “the filling of lungs with water.”

I’m sure the writers of South Park would at least have Kyle or Stan be the voice of reason to Cartman if he said that.

Guys like O’Falafel, Squish Limpballs, Insanity, and Miller aren’t spewing their garbage to get respect — they’re entertainers, nothing more. I definitely agree with that. It just doesn’t sit well with me that Fox News will let this happen and not give a darn about the value of their news coverage. These guys are detrimental to their credibility in my opinion. But then again…I don’t think Fox News cares about that either.

  63. DNFP says:

Dennis Miller (in his own voice) -

I stand corrected Hussien Toasterhead. I went and looked over the casts of the Dennis Miller years, and for the most part, he was nowhere near the funniest castmember.

He hangs on the fringes of show business and politics. Miller is as successful as he will ever be. He can go no further because there is no further for him to go. He has no talent.

Dennis Miller noticed that there weren’t any really funny people on the right.

The issue is that there is nothing funny about them…

“Last night on Fox News, host Bill O’Reilly and former comedian Dennis Miller…”

The operative words here being “former comedian.” Miller has said anything funny in 10 years. And most certainly not since he sold his smug, decrepit soul to the gods of right-wing buffoonery. You’re a class A loser Dennis and you deserve to hold company with pukes the likes of O’Leilly.

    Just saying . . .

  101. drlarrymitchell says:

Dennis Miller was one of the funniest and most relevant/irreverent comedians, particularly within the political realm. Everyone has a right to earn a living, to put their kids through college- and so does Dennis- but he had an actual career before shilling this crap. It’s a shame.

Taser Land. Guard Dog Races. Panties Toss. Sleep Deprivation Derby.

Miller and O’Reilly will give them all a try, since they are such conscientious and caring guys.

And I’m certain some people will buy tickets to their Waterboard World to help Miller and O’Reilly during the testing phase, which to be thorough, should span many years.

  104. Mr. Evil says:

Well, lets just all get together and “greenboard” Dennis Miller. Billo isn’t worth the effort. He’s a complete lost cause as far as humanity goes. But, Dennis, well I believe he would love it! He could make realtime humor about choking with his lungs half full of water.

Show us all what a real man you are, Dennis Miller, and subject yourself to waterboarding. Let us see for ourselves just how humorous it really is you fu(king tool!

  105. barfly says:

I hope Miller contracts the CO2 retainer form of COPD. Thousands of people die of this disease, every year, because their systems cannot cycle out CO2. Big joke.

Dennis Miller is not or never has been funny. He had to change professions in desperation. Now he’s just a pathetic right wing hack with no knowledge of politics and nothing much else for that matter.

Let’s assume that I think that making a joke about torture is funny. Let’s assume that I think torture actually produces any valuable intelligence or evidence. Let’s assume that torture wasn’t just outright wrong…

Exactly. It’s the same with all of this Republican hate speech that they try to pass off as “humor.” In order to be able to fall back on that defense, they’d actually have to be saying something that was actually funny, but they never are. The only reason their audience laughs at it is because they’re spiteful and evil. It’s the laugh of a supervillian, not of someone who was actually told a clever joke of some sort.

How far America has sunk when a pair of scumbags like these morons are considered prime time entertainment.

  113. fergus says:

What a pair of plageristic ripoffs!!! They stole my idea from last week when I envisioned Disney Gitmo. Typical right-wingers–not an original idea in the whole bunch. I am pissed!! Where do I go to claim royalties from any profits that they may gain? Thievin’ bastards.

Two more faces of the former GOP.

  115. squidbilly says:

I hope they go for it.

The line for that greenboard amusement ride will be pretty short.

Hopefully the line will only comprise of Miller and O’really. and their minions.

  116. Joe the Philosopher says:

When did Dennis Miller turn into an humorless, arrogant, degenerate Zionist?
