Over the past week, the fealty of GOP lawmakers to hate radio host Rush Limbaugh has become increasingly clear. They have been reluctant to criticize his comment that he hopes Obama fails, and those who have spoken out have been forced to retract their statements and beg forgiveness from the hate radio host.
Today on Fox and Friends, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) further circled the wagons, saying that Obama shouldn’t have made critical remarks about Limbaugh (which were made in a private meeting with Republicans and then leaked to the press):
McCAIN: I don’t know why he would do that. Mr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative movement in America. He has a very wide viewing audience. He is entitled to his views, and he has a lot of people who listen very carefully to him. I don’t know why that the President would take him on. He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.
Watch it:
In September 2007, Limbaugh controversially claimed that U.S. service members who support withdrawal from Iraq are actually “phony soldiers.” At the time, McCain spoke out against the remarks and called on Limbaugh to apologize:
Any American who risks his or her life to defend us has earned the respect and gratitude of every American citizen, irrespective of their views on this war. If Mr. Limbaugh made the remark he is reported to have made, it reflects very poorly on him and not the objects of his offensive comment. I expect most Americans, whatever their political views, will have the same reaction. He would be well advised to retract it and apologize.
So before the election, when McCain was trying to establish himself as a maverick, calling on Rush to criticize for his offensive remarks was fine. After the election, McCain appears more than happy to join his caucus as a ditto head.
Transcript:
CARLSON: Alright, senator, let me go back to politics for a minute, because I’m on Barack Obama’s calling out of Rush Limbaugh during his first week in office. Was that a strategical thing that he did, in other words, trying to say to more moderate Republicans, “You better not listen to Rush”? I mean, what was the whole point of doing that, and do you agree with the fact that he did that?
McCAIN: I don’t know why he would do that. Mr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative movement in America. He has a very wide viewing audience. He is entitled to his views, and he has a lot of people who listen very carefully to him. I don’t know why that the President would take him on. He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.
Well, it has become crystal clear that Rush Limbaugh is truly the de facto head of the Republican Party…
January 30th, 2009 at 1:57 pm“He’s (Limbaugh) part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.”
__________
Right. Right. Right, Johnny!
He’s the one who tells you all when to drop trou, bend over, and grab your ankles.
Just the kinda guy I want speaking for MY side.
January 30th, 2009 at 1:58 pmAnd…it’s ironic, isn’t it, that Rush MUST be allowed to say whatever heinous, ugly and/or untrue thing that he pleases…but our president musn’t criticize him – even mildly.
Yeah, that works for me.
NOT.
January 30th, 2009 at 1:58 pmLeftside Annie Says:
Well, it has become crystal clear that Rush Limbaugh is truly the de facto head of the Republican Party…
____________
Indeed, Leftside… and it is equally clear that the de facto head is firmly planted right between the Party’s cheeks!
January 30th, 2009 at 1:59 pmTypical mindless commentary from the hate wing of America. Well guess what McCain, President Obama is a larger part of the American fabric and he is right to speak out when blowhearts like Limbaugh wish Obama and America to fail. Let’s hope another Rethug never gets elected.
January 30th, 2009 at 1:59 pmOmigod! Why don’t they just change the name to the Rush Limbaugh Party?
The RLP – and we all know what the ‘P’ really stands for.
January 30th, 2009 at 1:59 pmMcCAIN: … He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.
He’s a part of the landscape like an iceberg is part of the sea, and with the same role: something to steer away from.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:00 pmMcCain: “I don’t know why that the President would take him on. He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.”
Am I the only one who sees the stupidity of this statement?
Is McCain saying that Obama shouldn’t take on Limbaugh BECAUSE he’s “part of the political landscape”?
Isn’t that justification FOR taking on someone who plays as dishonestly as Limbaugh?
WTF IS MC CAIN SAYING? CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT HERE?
January 30th, 2009 at 2:00 pmMcCAIN: I don’t know why he would do that. Mr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative movement in America.
RATIONAL AMERICA: And look where the conservative movement has landed America.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:02 pmMr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative Hate America movement.
There fixed it for you McUnstable.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:03 pmI think its just the opposite – Rush is given talking points which he repeats without question and paid quite well to mislead and misinform his flock of 17 million [which is only about 5% of Americas population] by contrast Oprah Winfrey has many more listeners [60 million]
January 30th, 2009 at 2:03 pmDid I hear right, McSame crying about Jabba da hut. Boy the more you see of McSame, the less Mavericky he is…
January 30th, 2009 at 2:03 pmThis is totally stupid! Obama made the remark behind closed doors, and the wimpy Repugs had to go crying how Obama offened their leader. WTF? Or these men or school children? What a crock!
January 30th, 2009 at 2:03 pmWhy do we still care what this senile old goat says?
January 30th, 2009 at 2:04 pmIf you look close enough, McSame has a brown spot on his nose…
January 30th, 2009 at 2:05 pmRIP Maverick – hellllloooo McPatsie.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:05 pmWhat Obama said was that the Republicans wouldn’t get anything done listening to Limbaugh and obstructing everything. He didn’t criticize Limbaugh, he criticized the Republicans in Congress apparently following his orders. That’s completely different. The fact that they’re protesting so much only proves Obama was right.
When asked about it, Nancy Pelosi had exactly the correct response: “I don’t speak to that. I am the Speaker of the House. I don’t get into that.” As in, serious politicians shouldn’t be either praising or vilifying media mouthpieces.
Or following their orders. Which was Obama’s point.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:07 pmHe’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.
Just because his ass has its own ZIP code doesn’t mean we have to give it representation in Congress.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:10 pmGrampy McSame says – My friends, Rush is a close friend of mine, yes sir, he spreads his love and wisdom to everyone, why sometimes when he goes to the Dominican Republic with a load of Viagra, he takes the time to email me videos of his vacation, my wife, that trollop c**t, Cindy just loves them also, why she watching them over and over is sorta strange, but those underage boy prostitutes sure excite the hell out of her, gets me going also, I get all warm down there and then I take some of those Viagra pills also, then I have Cindy dress up like one of those boys and I have at her, I have to close my eyes though, I should forward them to Boner and the crew at the RNC, Diaper Dan and Airport Stallman would sure like that….oops, I sat in some pudding.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:11 pmOxy-Boy Rush and Pro Resslin’, the two most favored entertainment choices of the Repug Party.
Gotta luv ‘em, right?
January 30th, 2009 at 2:11 pmLimprod does play a role. He is a litmus test. If someone admits they are a “dittohead” (think about the admission that title constitutes) you don’t have to bother ever trying to engage them in rational conversation.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:12 pmWhat a sore loser you are John McCain. He has never been a Maverick and never will be. Hey if he wants to play in Rush’s sandbox, let him. I still find myself getting nauseous when I think about the past 8 years and what these hollow ppl in the Republican party did, and what they’re continuing to do. This is somewhat Immature…but F**K YOU MCCAIN
January 30th, 2009 at 2:12 pmI actually thought McCain had sold his soul just for the presidency but would return to being halfway reasonable and sane once the election was over.
Boy, was I wrong. The man has lost it. And after the hatred the drug addict Limbaugh has shown for McCain, his groveling before the bigoted blowhard is even more pathetic.
What integrity, courage McCain once had is looooooong gone. The man is to be pitied.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:12 pmThis is more proof of how SENILE McCain is. ( As if “the fundamentals of our economy are still strong” were not enough! ).
January 30th, 2009 at 2:12 pmSOMEBODY, please put him on the deleted file !
Let the record show that Mccain supports one that illegally uses narcotic drugs, tries to incite riots and wants our country to fail.
And to think McCain and the whack job Palin could have been the executive branch.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:17 pmThank you, Buckie! I’ve missed Grampy.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:18 pmGiven what Rush just said, this means a significant portion of the conservative movement in America wants our President to fail.
To put it another way: a significant portion of the conservative movement in America are traitors.
Thanks for clearing that up, John.

Are you saying El Rushbo’s butt is some sort of dead end office for undeliverable mail?
January 30th, 2009 at 2:19 pmThat my friend, is why!!!!!!!!
January 30th, 2009 at 2:19 pmI don’t get it — has the entire Republican Party been hypnotized or smething? Brainwashed? Drugged with roofies? Why are they allowing this clown to lead them around by the nose? The election of 2008 should have shown everyone quite clearly that Limbaugh doesn’t have the power to deliver enough GOP votes to do any good for them. So why all the bootlicking and genuflecting?
McCain should realize he’s not running for President anymore, so he can drop the lame attempts at spinning. Obama mentioned Limbaugh as part of an admonishment to the lawmakers, not Limbaugh himself. And he did it behind closed doors. This is hardly “taking him on”. In fact, if Obama really DID decide to declare war against Limbaugh, this would be Rush’s wet dream. I doubt Obama will give him that kind of spotlight.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:20 pmFinally, the truth is out. An accredited member of the GOP has clearly acknowledged that the bought-and-paid-for media is directing their policy.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:20 pmThe Republic of Stupidity Says:

January 30th, 2009 at 2:21 pmWhat I love most about this is just as trolls will NEVER admit to being devout dittoheads, the same trolls to a one will not admit voting for Bush or even being proud Republicans. It seems they are all quite ashamed of themselves and deservedly so.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:23 pmAre you saying El Rushbo’s butt is some sort of dead end office for undeliverable mail?
I think he may be worrying that ‘El Rushbo’s butt’ may be a dead end office for underage males…
January 30th, 2009 at 2:23 pmYeah, Rush is like some drug addicted p33doph1le anti-Oprah. Pretty sad that the republicans have to rally around a delusional hatemonging mouthpiece instead of well, any politician or statesman…
Maybe mc’cant can show how mavericky he is an introduce a senate resolution condemning obama for unpatriotically criticizing mr. limbawls..

January 30th, 2009 at 2:24 pmI’m beginning to think that when Bush had Limbaugh for lunch at the White House in his last days he handed over all the wiretap tapes he had collected on the Republicans just in case any of them started to do what was best for the country. Rush had the platform to reign them in and the lack of moral compass to do the job.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:24 pmHey, what he does in the privacy of a Puerto Plata motel room is his business. I’m not going there…

January 30th, 2009 at 2:27 pmThere you have it. Undeniable in light of recent events within the republican party.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:27 pmI say if the Repub.’s in Congress have so misread the election that they feel the need to dive further to the right and worship at the Golden Mic of El Rushbo… who are we to stop them?
In fact I say…
Please, please continue… your country needs you to marginalize your party, Republicans.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:27 pmAu contraire, I’d say his butt is some sort of dead end orifice for deliverable male.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:28 pmBut it was ok for McThusela to insult Keith Olberman?
I love to see the drones respond to defend the fat maggot queen. Rush lifts his leg and emits a cloud of pheremones and one whiff send these mindless drones out with a tear in their eye to defend the hive. You watch, it won’t be long before the trolls show up here to defend the pus gut druggy.
“I hope he fails.” Says it all.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:28 pmThis sort of takes me back to the days of J. Edgar. Just what does ole Rushy have on the boys?
January 30th, 2009 at 2:29 pmAnd could we please not talk about his butt? I have a weak stomach.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:30 pmShayne, that’s just too funny!
January 30th, 2009 at 2:31 pmSo it’s clear that if McCain had won Rush would be leading more than the party, he’d be leading the country.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:32 pmIt’s Official:Rush Limbaugh is now the leader of the Republican Party! I must say, I’m surprised and disappointed that Mccain of all people would defend Limbaugh. At this rate,RUSH Limbaugh is going to RUSH the Republican party to an early grave.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:32 pmIs it me or did Johnny boy just bend over and grab his ankles..
January 30th, 2009 at 2:33 pmThe GOP is the party of Limbaugh. They cannot hide from that. And for McCain to suddenly have a change of heart about Limbaugh is revealing about McCain’s confusion on who does rule their world. When McCain wanted to separate himself from the movement he bashes Limbaugh. When McCain needs to re-establish himself in the party, he embraces Limbaugh. I think you call that being a hypocrite, no?
McCain and Limbaugh are certainly BFF.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:34 pmMcCain is working hard to be more than a footnote in history. In AZ there is increasing talk of going after him big time in the next elctions. Yea, I’m for it!
January 30th, 2009 at 2:34 pmThat’s not my fault nanlichi. Buckie Boy got me motivated with his McCain persona above.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:34 pmThe thing that amazes me about this who “controversy” is that so many people didn’t really hear what he had to say. Obama said that they should not “just” listen to Rush Limbaugh, meaning they should be open to other points of view (you know, like Obama is). So, what the Conservatives are doing right now is showing that they will just listen to Limbaugh and that has, in effect, made Limbaugh the head of the Republican party.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:35 pmShayne Says:
Au contraire, I’d say his butt is some sort of dead end orifice for deliverable male.

January 30th, 2009 at 2:35 pmWell, good to see that the republicans take their orders from Limbaugh. Is he the next presidential candidate? C’mon, HE has ALL the answers to all our problems (just ask him), so why don’t you all just run him for the job? So many Americans love him (according to what his listeners say) that it would be a cinch. He has friends in politics, he has seen land that might have been Russia, so he is qualified.
Keep marching to the tune of hate filled, militant partizan, closed-minded, hypocritical, racist, chickenhawk, lazy, drug addled, bloviators.
Conservative ideology led our country to where it is — recession, probable depression, highest unemployment, lowered educational standards, jobs and business going overseas, destruction of the environment, lack of health care, two conflicts lasting years and running an unprecedented debt with NO net gain returns, state sponsored torture, killing innocent civilians, support of other terrorist states, building of terrorists who become our enemies, allowing 9/11 to happen, weakening of the dollar, lowering of America’s standing in the world, defiance of the UN, ignoring Geneva Conventions, …. (what did I miss?….)
AND THEN … their message? “Stay the course!!!” “Keep doing the same things!!” The idoelogy is failed, and it has been PROVEN in the real world as failed policy. But, they cling to it like it were… I don’t know what….
January 30th, 2009 at 2:35 pmHey McCain, this is what your friend Rush thought one year ago about the possibility of either yourself or Huckabee winning the GOP nomination:
“I’m here to tell you, if either of these two guys get the nomination, it’s going to destroy the Republican Party, it’s going to change it forever, be the end of it. A lot of people aren’t going to vote.”
So how did the resounding endorsement of you from Rush work out?

January 30th, 2009 at 2:40 pmWhat is blowing my mind is that I thought the deal here was that we got to select who was part of our political landscape by voting on them. Rush was foisted upon us by Clear channel. In fact, I seem to recall a host of actors being bullied during the Bush era for speaking out against his policies (never going so far as wishing him failure, outright, certainly not a week into his term). I remember Pappa Bear harping on and on that entertainers had no place in politics or policy.
But suddenly Rush, a self-proclaimed entertainer, must be listened to and protected from any criticism?
Furthermore, as someone else has pointed out, if her were part of the political landscape, we should be allowed to challenge him and address.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:41 pmAfter that “you betcha” comment, I wonder how many Palinisms will stick in our language. Besides “you betcha” we also have “in what respect Charlie”.

Didn’t he spend a lot of time in his (pre-busted) shows railing on druggies and how big of losers and wastes they were, and how they were all liberal scum? Interesting how empty the minds that agree with him are.
Remind them always. Rush hopes the president of America fails. He hopes America fails. All for his own ego.

I suspect that all this bloviating coming out of Limbaugh is because he is scared. Clear Channel laid off 7,000 workers last week. They are talking about canceling programming. In many markets where Limbaugh is head to head with a progressive talk show host (Randi Rhodes comes to mind), the progressive beats Limbaugh handily. Now, Clear Channel is conservative, but they are also a business trying to stay competitive. In today’s market and political arena if you had the choice of canceling Limbaugh or Rhodes, which would you pick?
January 30th, 2009 at 2:43 pmAnd then, also, too, maverick, maverick, maverick, also.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:44 pmYeah, he plays a role alright . . . he says all the things politicians who want to appeal to the worst of the radical right can’t say for fear of offending the vast majority of their constituents. January 30th, 2009 at 2:44 pmAnd from Feb. 5, 2008:
‘Limbaugh’s role is generating plenty of media chatter. CBS’s Bob Schieffer told McCain on “Face the Nation” Sunday that “Rush Limbaugh says you’re an impostor.”‘
January 30th, 2009 at 2:45 pmsnip
‘MSNBC host Tucker Carlson offered McCain this advice: “Wouldn’t it just be easier to fly down to Palm Beach and take Rush Limbaugh out to dinner and slobber all over him? Why not suck up to Rush Limbaugh?”‘
Prez O, is playing them like a full. He mention Rush in a private conversation… and look what has happen, the Ruthugs heads are exploding LOL.

Here, my friend, let me alter your words a bit so you do know:
Mr. Obama is a voice of a significant portion of America, having won the election for President against, well, you. He has a very wide-range of supporters. He is entitled to his views, and he has a lot of people who listen very carefully to him. He’s the leader of the American political landscape, and he plays a role in establishing the political culture.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:53 pmMcCain sucking up to the leader of the GOP, Rush “Party Before Country” Limbaugh.
January 30th, 2009 at 2:53 pmSo , it is OK for Limbaugh to lambast the prez and wish him to fail, but NOT OK for the prez to criticize Limbaugh?
It was a single statement in a private setting with the GOP & Fox News has made to seem like Obama is out there campaigning about it!
Talk about thin-skinned … You can’t touch Rush, he’s soooo sensitive, ya know. Waaaaaaah!
January 30th, 2009 at 2:55 pmA Patriot Acting Says:

January 30th, 2009 at 2:55 pmHmmmmm, the difference between the Democrats and Republicans is clear…The Democrats will chastize and condemn their allies in an official Senate resolution like they did to MoveOn at the behest of Republicans, but the Republicans would NEVER do such a thing with Rush…
January 30th, 2009 at 2:56 pmCareful John, Rush has power…more power than you. Cindy might leave you for him if you run up the credit cards or bend over too much.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:01 pmOnce again, and this is getting REAL old (no pun intended), McCain PROVES he is an IDIOT ! Why doesn’t he just take Blondie and her millions a retire to the desert where he can raise lizards and cactus….

January 30th, 2009 at 3:01 pmI don’t know why that the President would take him on. He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.
Well, president-reject, Mr. Limbaugh is not part of the political landscape. President Obama was merely telling these republicans, on the heels of Limbaugh’s “I want him to fail” garbage, that you can’t listen to someone who’s merely a shock jock profiting from the political landscape and get things done.
Your bitterness is shining through, Mr. President-reject. You better get off the political landscape and quick. Why bother running in 2010?

Maybe Pillboy is ‘da man’ and all his lemmings score from him? 100,000 Oxicondin still unaccounted for? Pillboy stash?
January 30th, 2009 at 3:34 pmThis sheeyat is hilarious, all these neoclowns lining up to slurp baggyball’s manjuice since they are lacking leadership and a drug addled lardass is the best they can come up with.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:36 pmWhen John McCain defends Rush Limbaugh, he is tacitly validating every hate-filled racist and sexist comment that has come out of his arrogant dysfunctional mouth. The two men have a great deal in common!
January 30th, 2009 at 3:39 pmIt’s a good thing Obama didn’t throw a dinner to honor McThusaleh. Oh, wait……
Limpballs/Bible Spice 2012!
January 30th, 2009 at 3:41 pmPower abhors a vacuum and the vacuum at the top of the GOOP is so strong in has sucked in the Cape Girardeau Leviathan. Woe betide any who crosses this slouching sack of miasmic bombast.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:45 pmTeowens Says:
It’s Official:Rush Limbaugh is now the leader of the Republican Party!
Pretty slick of Obama:
1. He criticized Congressional R’s for following Rush
2. Congressional R’s either have to kiss Rush’s ass, or…
3. Say he’s not their boss, and then get forced to kiss Rush’s ass.
4. Rush now looks like the leader of Congressional R’s
5. Congressional R’s appear even more radical and marginalized.
Suckers.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:47 pmNo, he’s no hero of any kind.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:51 pmThey call him Mcflipper, Mcflipper the old man of the sea,he`ll flip flop, flip flop to see where he stands.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:51 pmSucking up to the Limbaugh’s in his party brought a crushing defeat for mcsame, yet he’s continuing to play his stooge.
January 30th, 2009 at 3:59 pmSad or just insane, take your pick.
take care
tony and lido
What’s great about Limbaugh is that he’s honest about who he is, as much of a disgusting troll as that may be, unlike elected Republicans, who have to maintain an appearance of civility. Limbaugh blurts out the moronic logic that all republicans want the “little people” to subscribe too, to keep themselves in the money.
Someone should wheel-barrow Limbaugh up to the national political podium and hoist him up to run for office. Belly right on up there, Rush. Show the Republicans for who and what they are. Keep up the good work, morons. The GOP needs a leader like him to seal their fate along side the dinosaurs.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:00 pmDear Proud to be a moron,
Air America is still in business and you are still an assclown with nothing relevent to say. No wonder you like rush baggyballs.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:04 pmQuoting McCAIN: “I don’t know why he would do that. Mr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative movement in America.”
Hey McCain, note that the conservative movement you speak of is a downward movement…yet you keep following Rush. Man those repugs are smart…
January 30th, 2009 at 4:06 pmWe have however, won magnanamously by every other measure, you know, the ones that count.
I detect fear in your post and it can only be because you know that rush has been targeted.
Obama warned the right not to listen to rush.
They had to decide…..they have…..they have defined themselves……
be very afraid my little right wing nazi.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:10 pm-Proud
How do you know so much about Rush and Air America? I thought McDonald’s didn’t allow radios at their fry stations.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:11 pmI have had my vacation in Viet Nam and am back now to deny anything I said before when I was important. I’ll get my voters back the hard way. Are those keys?
January 30th, 2009 at 4:16 pmnoodles…”has disposed in the corn of his poo”?
that makes no freaking sense. are you running for office as a repukelican? is your last name palin?
January 30th, 2009 at 4:16 pm114-Real class there.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:17 pmI know it’s hard, but try to keep it above a juvenile here.
tony and lido
juvenile level
January 30th, 2009 at 4:18 pmThat’s right, Nettie. You keep right on proving to all of us just how stupid you truly are.
It’s not necessary, really. I mean, we already know…but hey, whatever floats your boat, dearie.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:20 pmBut it still doesn’t amount to a pile of dog shit….
proud…be afraid, remember all of our victories came despite your dominance in the media……guess what?
nettles, you need some powder for that rash, may I suggest gun powder.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:23 pmNettles Says:
I’ll say it again:
No need to. Once you say something that means nothing, it still means nothing no matter if you say it again.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:23 pmso if Rush is “part of the political landscape,” then why can’t Obama attack him? He is fair game according to McCain.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:23 pm-nettles
2 X 0 is still 0.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:25 pmYeah, lots of classy posts here. You and your friends lowered the standard, Tony. Suck it up.
The GOP has been lowering the standards for quite some time now.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:30 pmNettles Says: “I want a race to the bottom, I know I can win that”
January 30th, 2009 at 4:30 pm::::::doing my sally field’s impersonation:::::::
ooohhhhh nooodles…you like me…you really like me. the bottom three are mine.

January 30th, 2009 at 4:32 pmYou forgot Registered Sex Offender
January 30th, 2009 at 4:32 pmIs rush registered? Where?
January 30th, 2009 at 4:38 pmMcCAIN:
I don’t know why he would do that.
I do. He’s a damn liar! And the Republican Party talking points he repeats every day are lies, too.
Mr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative movement in America.
That might explain their ignorance of facts. You guys keep forgetting that Rush is under no obligation to tell his listeners the truth, and you know that and take advantage of it.
He has a very wide viewing audience.
Yeah, I’m picturing millions of dittoheads staring at their radios. (I do not believe he has a TV program at present.)
He is entitled to his views, and he has a lot of people who listen very carefully to him.
He’s entitled to his own views, but he’s not entitled to his own facts. And why should it matter how many people listen to him if he’s lying? If they base their beliefs on the things Rush says, then they will not make the right decisions.
I don’t know why that the President would take him on.
Maybe because you guys foolishly embraced him. You know, Johnny, not everything a Democrat tells you is meant to screw you over. Sometimes they are really trying to help.
He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role.
A very destructive part, and not in the least bit productive. And the role he is playing is doing great harm to our country.
The president was right. You guys need to stop listening to Rush. And if you don’t want the details of your private chats leaked by the president, then don’t do it yourselves.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:46 pmProud, you should be worried about rush, no that’s wrong, you should be worried for rush.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:49 pmnoodles, who cares that they’re having an election in a country we’re occupying that had an 80 BILLION dollar budget surplus this year while americans are losing their jobs daily in record numbers.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:49 pmHi Proud
January 30th, 2009 at 4:50 pmproud to be a moron, care to provide that link. Or are you another sheeyat talking repukeliscum? my money’s on the latter
January 30th, 2009 at 4:50 pmYou seem to be quite current on this, how manny sunnies are running for office?
January 30th, 2009 at 4:51 pmMaybe they’ll run a Sarah Palin story
January 30th, 2009 at 4:52 pm—-
I can only hope. I never get tired of making fun of her. Well sometimes I do but there is always SamJoe, the alledged average guy who is a 40+ year old “apprentice”.
Two trolls here defending Limpy and McCrappy. They’re really scraping the bottom of the troll barrel with Proud and Nettles. They have no more dignity than the other Repugs slurping up all that Rush sputum.
January 30th, 2009 at 4:57 pmProudMoron Says:
My GOD you ignorant RePUNKS are so pathetic. No one is afraid of the Oxymoron. He is spoken AGAINST. By the brainless stupidity you have instead of logic since you speak out against teen pregnancy you must FEAR it. You do understand you are unspeakably stupid dont you? It isnt the ignorance of punks like you that bothers me most. The stupid have always been with us and you will always be stupid. ITs the rotted putrid essence of what in normal people would be a soul. Yours dried up and went toxic years ago. Since you NEVER had a brain and NOW have no sense of decency you LOVE to be lied to by a propagandist tool like Limbaugh. You are too stupid to get that he has nothing but contempt for you. He may hate those like me that will never buy his bilge but when he is at his country club drinking his hundred year old cognac and smoking his Cuban cigar he LAUGHS at morons like you that not only lap up his poison rhetoric but repeat it as IF it made sense. IF he had a shred of respect for you he wouldnt tell you such really stupid lies and have you repeat them. He would think you MIGHT check his lies out for yourself but he KNOWS you are too stupid and brainwashed to do any such thing so he USES you for the only thing you are good for. Demented propagand parrots. I pity you for your monumental stupidity. He just laughs and uses you because of it
January 30th, 2009 at 4:58 pmNettles Says:
And you can say it another few hundred times it wont make it true. It is amazing how you REALLY stupid cons think things become true if you just repeat them the magic number of times. I think you ARE what Olberman disposes of when he flushes in the morning
January 30th, 2009 at 5:01 pmProudMoron one of the stupidest organic beings in the universe calls US morons. Pure projection. I looked up moron in the dictionary and it said it was epitomized by the ignorant cretin that posts as proud. He is PROUD to be so stupid. Obviously it is his defining characteristic. He is ALWAYS going to be stupid so he might as well be proud of it. Stupidity defines him so why not go with it. I remember with nostalgia the days when the stupidest people in the world like ProudMoron were ashamed to be so stupid. The Oxymoron convinced them that they should wear their stupidity with pride and carry his water letting him do thier thinking for them as PROOF of their proud stupidity. Yes ProudMoron is a dittohead. Proud that he is too stupid to think for himself. Proud of being used like a tissue. What a pathetic existance ProudMoron is condemned to but the really interesting thing is he is PROUD of being pathetically ignorant
January 30th, 2009 at 5:07 pmProud Says:
Fantastic, how you libtards can be so afraid of a talk show host,
“Afraid” is hardly the operative word here.
.
Proud Says:
…this is all a pretense to bring back the “fairness doctrine”.
BOO! Ha ha. OK, could you find me who said they ever wanted to bring back the fairness doctrine? I’d think censorship would be more up you guys’ alley.
.
Proud Says:
Liberals have failed miserably on the radio with Air America.
Air America is doing just fine, thanks.
Why are you so afraid of it?
.
Nettles Says:
It would take a lifetime for that doofus Keith Olberman to aquire the amount of integrity that John McCain has disposed in the corn of his poop.
I wonder how you define “integrity?” Because my definition exludes being tortured and then sponsoring a bill that authorizes torture. Mine excludes hiring the same people who slandered your daughter eight years ago to use equally vile tactics against your opponent. Mine exludes sucking up to the guy who hired them back then. My definition excludes spreading lies about someone who you really know is decent.
I don’t know what you mean by the word “integrity.” I’d really be interested in finding a wingnut-to-English dictionary so I can figure out what the hell language that is.
.
Nettles Says:
Not one mention on TP today of the impending elections in Iraq. Shocker. Maybe they’ll run a Sarah Palin story….
This thing only puts up about 4-6 posts a day, and all the wingnuts can do is come in here and list everything not being posted. We don’t get all of our information from a single source like you eedjits do.
.
Wayne A. Schneider Says:
Yeah, I’m picturing millions of dittoheads staring at their radios. (I do not believe he has a TV program at present.)
El oh el; good catch.
January 30th, 2009 at 5:07 pmSorry, Nettles, but John McCain has no integrity as far as I’m concerned. He’s a two-faced liar.
January 30th, 2009 at 5:08 pmNettles Says:
Not one mention on TP today of the impending elections in Iraq. Shocker. Maybe they’ll run a Sarah Palin story….
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Yeah they might be having elections in Sri Lanka too. They certainly had plenty of them in Vietnam while we occupied them. Is there supposed to be a point there?
January 30th, 2009 at 5:08 pmElBruce Says:
There is NO censoring aspect to having both sides heard on OUR airwaves or demanding both sides be heard. That is like the OPPOSITE of censorship. There is NO free speech issue involved in the fairness doctrine. WE own the airwaves and have every right to say HOW they are used. Demand a public service function and define it. Personally I dont care one way or another about the Fairness doctrine but the constant rightwing spin that it is censorship or is a violation of free speech is just dumb. It shouldnt be repeated
January 30th, 2009 at 5:12 pmThank you Proud and Nettles. I knew the green pheremone cloud would entice you to defend your fat maggot queen bee.
LEAVE RUSH ALONE!!! Boo Hoooooo… You guys are so mean to Rush!

January 30th, 2009 at 5:13 pmisn’t spam pork?
January 30th, 2009 at 5:23 pmStill looking for the words to express how relieved I am that bomb-bomb McCain is not president. Can you imagine? Shudder.
January 30th, 2009 at 5:24 pmi recently read in an npr article, their rules i guess about trolls. funny i didn’t know that someone with an opposing view would be considered a troll. you say what you say and its out there. that brings us to rush. i’m not sure i have the ability to respond to some of what has been said here as my moms bar of soap was all used up on me many years ago, and i really don’t need that experience again. rush did not say he wants obama to fail, he does not want what he considers a way to overeaching program to succeed. i can’t seem to understand the vulgarity on the part of many in this post to attempt to get their point across. you support the candidate of change, ya’ll said that washington needed to get with it your way. all rush has done is point out that he doesn’t consider this the right way. thats not hard to understand and the vulgarity of your recriminations is beyond the pale. he has laid out an alternative approach and it is within the realm of political discussion. now that doesn’t mean it has to be accepted or parts of it incorporated into the final package. other than childish carping and vulgarity from many of the replies to a rather inaccurate article to begin with i haven’t seen one suggestion from any of you naysayers.
January 30th, 2009 at 5:45 pmWhat is vulgar about saying I don’t give a shit about what a overweight drug idled hawker of craftmaker beds thinks about anything? Since when do the opinions of shock jocks matter?
January 30th, 2009 at 6:00 pmThe man who choose Palin and embraced Joe the dumber says a
hate monger/racist represents a significant portion of the
conservative movement.
These people take digging a hole to another level.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:06 pmDrill baby DRILL.
He is entitled to his views, and he has a lot of people who listen very carefully to him. I don’t know why that the President would take him on. He’s part of the political landscape, and he plays a role
I thought he was JUST an “entertainer.” I guess his chief role is lead propaganda artist.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:06 pmHowell…? Would YOU like a Milk Bone?
Good doggy!!!
January 30th, 2009 at 6:07 pmHowie Clark,
That fat bloviating piece of shit druggy fck said very clearly that he wants Obama to fail. It’s a quote dickhead.
Did I offend you? Sorry btch, just saying it the way I see it.
By the way, learn where the Shift key is dumbfck.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:16 pmHOWELL, you’re a howler
Show us that alternative approach.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:26 pmMcCain needs to back off for real. Who does this man think he really is. Honestly he is the phony one. Before the election he was against the dude. Now he’s telling obama to leave him alone because he didnt win. Yea if McCain would of won our coutry would be doomed. He’s two faced. McCain will say anything to the public to get everyones vote then turn around and stab us all in the back. And screw that radio host dude. “Phony Soldier” I’ll give him a phoney soldier. We are over there fighting for america’s freedom and we are tired and wore down. Its starting to become a worthless fight. We did what we came to do now its time to pack up and get out. But this “radio dude” only wants us to stay in it like McCain for the political aspect and for money and control. They can Kiss my big A**. I dont see “radio” dude over there fighting. No he sits his sorry A** in a comfy seat behide closed doors because he’s a pussy. He cant be a real man and fight a real mans fight. Goes to show you just how lame people can be. At least President Obama is trying to turn our country around and make peace with our Neighbors. I give him two thumbs up. But this radio show dude all he’s good for is sitting on his a** running his mouth.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:30 pmHOWELL CLARK Says:
They arent trolls for disagreeing. Sorry you dont seem to understand this very simple concept. They are trolls for trying to drag posts off topic or for just spewing insulting talking points at us. That isnt discussion. That isnt TRYING to discuss. That is provocation which is pretty much the defining characteristic of being a troll. That is actually pretty simple. YES Limbaugh said he wanted Obama to fail. He wants liberalism to fail and he doesnt seem to CARE who is hurt WHEN it fails. See I find THAT vulgar. I also find your post simplistic and condescending. I suggest you get over yourself
January 30th, 2009 at 6:36 pmHi Proud.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:38 pmIs the liberal media, labor unions, education, entertainment and all that other shit that is claimed a failure or just a myth?
ProudMoron says something else incredibly stupid. Considering HE is incredibly stupid that was pretty much assured. Hey moron first of all Fox is still DWARFED by the networks leading the cable shows is about like leading the minor leagues. Second CNN MSNBC and the like have to divvy up the reasoned viewers that want actual news. Those who want brainwashed fantasy versions have only Fox to go to. I mean when people are as stupid as say YOU they dont WANT to think. They want their delusions catered to and if THAT is what you want FOX is your place. Feel free to revel in your stupidity. I mean really it is all you have. Excuse us if we actually like thinking for ourselves while we pity you for not having the capacity to think at ALL much less for yourself
January 30th, 2009 at 6:41 pmNPR has failed? Or is it that NPR isn’t liberal? See somebody just claimed liberal radio has failed. I am confused. Which one is it?
January 30th, 2009 at 6:43 pmHowell, vulgar…vulgar….vulgar
guess this idiot hasn’t ever even listend to rush and still defends him…..
January 30th, 2009 at 6:52 pmWho’s the idiot that said it failed is a better question.
just think p, the dems have won everything despite your media control….you should be very afraid.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:58 pmAhhh, maybe we should cut the oxycontin-fueled blowhard a little slack. It can’t be easy for him, knowing he is marginalized now. He was ranting for the whole election cycle, telling his listeners that there was no possible way Obama would win, even going so far as to try rallying his minions to crash the Democratic primary. Yet it got him nowhere. Yes, his recent comments were stupid, but name anyone of his comments that isn’t stupid! As far as McCain, even the Republicans couldn’t stand him, he needs to make friends where ever he can. If the best he can do is suck up to Rush Limburger, hey…good luck to him.
January 30th, 2009 at 6:59 pmI’m not sure what other’s have responded to this in this thread.
I guess you could say mcCain is saying keep your hands off the annointed one.
But on a deeper level, isn’t he actually saying to Obama: “limshit’s share of the political landscape is more important than your’s, as President of the United States, is.”
Sounds to me like Obama’s getting under the thin skin of the treasonous right wingers.
My advise to all of us is to the White House web site and let the administration know there are plenty of People out here in the nation who believe it’s long past the time that someone in national government begins to tell the right wingers to shut the _uck up!
Pour it on, Obama! You’ll only garner more respect and support from the majority of Americans. Dumping on limbaugh every chance you get is a good place to begin. It’s hard to respect someone who allows the schoolyard bully to get away with his shit without standing up and dishing it back out.
January 30th, 2009 at 7:34 pmIn this case, it looks as though John McCain is the “phony soldier”.
January 30th, 2009 at 8:02 pmNot only limbaugh, but hanntiy, oreilly, inghram, savage, levine, benett, miller,
January 30th, 2009 at 8:04 pmdobbs, kelly, beir, hume, krautheimer, cavuto, malkin, and countless others of the “Mainstream Media” need to be highlighted as hate spreading devisive
pimples they are…..Keep it up Obama..!!!
Bedbugs run when the lights are turned on…!
EugeneDebs Says:
There is NO censoring aspect to having both sides heard on OUR airwaves or demanding both sides be heard. That is like the OPPOSITE of censorship.
1. It involves determining what counts as one “side” and what counts as the other “side.” That means making a legal judgement regarding the context of speech, which is exactly the same problem that all censorship attempts have. You yourself have seen here where someone presents a view that some people consider “left” and others consider “right.” By and large, whether a given viewpoint is seen as liberal or conservative is highly dependent with how liberal or conservative the person making the judgment is.
2. Because airwave channels will be forced to locate, produce and air opposing viewpoints should they air a viewpoint that is considered politically opiniated, the easiest thing for them to do to avoid any trouble will be to cease airing any viewpoints that might be considered politically opiniated, effectively censoring both sides.
3. Back when the fairness doctrine was originally tried, there were very few media channels to choose from. Therefore, media dominance by one political side was a potential danger to democracy. Today, between airwave radio, satellite radio, broadcast TV, cable TV, satellite TV and the Internet, there’s little danger of that. Sure, these channels tend to be bought up by a relatively few corporations, but there are still lots of them widely distributed along a variety of formats and profit models. The Fairness Doctrine didn’t work back then, and there’s less justification for it now.
4. Nobody on either side with any position of responsibility or who has looked in to the matter is calling for the Fairness Doctrine. Its a wingnut conspiracy theory to say that anyone is.

Proud Says:
Who is the idiot that said Air America is doing fine…
Oh I’m sorry, did I f**king stutter? Air America is doing fine. Idiot.
January 30th, 2009 at 8:27 pmPoor, poor Limbaugh. Sniff.
January 30th, 2009 at 8:29 pmI just love it! Limbaugh is a hate monger when he is quoted (inaccurately) as hoping for Obama’s failure. How about the past eight years of Dems and Libs gushing over movies about the assassination of President Bush, the praying for his death, and daily, open expressions of hatred for him, his family and all things conservative. Guess Olberman must be a hate monger too along with all members of Moveon.org and Daily Kos. Hatred of Bush is good, yep, that’s the way it works here in “Progressive Paradise”.
January 30th, 2009 at 8:33 pmI wonder why Obama gives Limbaugh any credence. If he is just a hate monger like many of you believe why would he bother. Speaking of hate perhaps you should read your coments lol filled with hate also. I guess that is why I usually don’t read coments. One side as bad as the other. Then again you are just as entitled to your opinions as Rush is funny as it may seem. To go through all this only brings attention to what he has to say. Partisanship has been going for years didn’t start with bush what makes anyone think it is going to change. Vote them all out and start over and perhaps you will get a group that can start over.

You yourself have seen here where someone presents a view that some people consider “left” and others consider “right.” By and large, whether a given viewpoint is seen as liberal or conservative is highly dependent with how liberal or conservative the person making the judgment is.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The problem with this is that we had the fairness doctrine for a long time and this was NOT a problem that is because what the fairness doctrine said was NOT that everything said had to have a counterpoint but that if a PUBLIC ISSUE WAS DISCUSSED the other side had a right to be heard. So no there is no such issue. Left or right is irrelvant when Rush says the stimulus package is crap those who support it have a right to air their opinion ON OUR AIRWAVES
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Your evidence this is true is WHAT? We HAD THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. That didnt stop talk radio from being controversial as far back as Father Coughlin. Remember Alan Berg? He was controversial enough that someone SHOT HIM. So since that didnt happen last time when we DID have it I see no evidence this would all of a sudden be a problem.
The Fairness Doctrine didn’t work back then, and there’s less justification for it now.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
First of all I never saw any CLAIM the fairness doctrine didnt work. I dont care how many choices there are. Nor is this in any way an argument to why it WOULD be censorship. There were plenty back then. You could read a newspaper or magazine. The airwaves STILL belong to us. It is a PUBLIC and DEMOCRATIC decision how they are used. The deal we struck in the beggining was that in return for us allowing them to use OUR resource to make obscene buttloads of cash they would perform a public service. WE can decide how that is done and there STILL is no possible definition of censorship that includes demanding BOTH sides of an issue be heard. Censorship is STOPPING someones opinion from being heard not saying since we have given THESE people a megaphone and denied it to others, THEY have to surrender that megaphone to let the other side be heard it is more like the OPPOSITE of censorship. I dont know why you have bought into this rightwing frame it is ludicrous.
4. Nobody on either side with any position of responsibility or who has looked in to the matter is calling for the Fairness Doctrine. Its a wingnut conspiracy theory to say that anyone is.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
As I said I dont care one way or another about the fairness doctrine this however is just flat irrelevant to whether or not it is in any way censorship which it CLEARLY IS NOT. Nor is there any first amendment issue at ALL which the Red Lion Supreme Court decision said DIRECTLY. IF there were ANY censorship issue that would not be true. IT is FLAT OUT LUDICROUS to claim the fairness doctrine is in any way censorship whatever you think of it

The movie was a drama about the killing of a president you ignorant brainwashed cretins threw a fit about it but it wasnt in any way critical of the president nor did it glorify an assasination I saw the movie which I bet you DIDNT. It was basically about the nuts and bolts of finding the assasin. You punks are just so pathetic. YOUR side OWNS hate. When any mainstream lefty mouthpiece talks about beating conservatives with baseball bats or poison a Supreme Court justice like Coulter, or says half of the GOP should be deported like the Oxymoron or that you are the brownshirts of today like the Weinerdog Savage get back to us until then you just out yourself as a REALLY stupid and brainwashed punk. Rush said what he said punk. Man up and get over it.
January 30th, 2009 at 8:58 pmShame on you folks, who call yourselves americans for all the filthy, trashy talk you explicit about others, especially on this website. I am extremely appalled that you can speak like you do and have thoughts that you do. I am a diehard, rightwing conservative, who has listened to Rush Limbaugh since he was a local radio host in Sacramento, CA. I understand that you are jealous of his success, his wealth and his ability to promote his ideas, and that there are close to 20 million people who listen to his ideas and wisdom everyday. I don’t agree with everything the man says, but mark my words, you folks who continue to trash talk Former President Bush, and any other conservative who wishes to be heard, will have your words turned on you. If you want to gain crediblity with me or anyone else that is of a straight mind, whether they are democrat or republican, you must MOVE ON! Our president has called for us to move on. If you wish that the next four years should be spent in paying retribution in evil fashion to those who were in power the last eight, you’ve forgotten what this country is about. It is about dignity and honor. Whether you agree with Rush Limbaugh, John McCain, President Obama, or Harry Reid, or not, you must always do so dignified, and without the kind of trash talk that has been spewed here. I would be ashamed if I ever discovered that I knew one of you. Like I said, I don’t condone the filth that you are spewing, and if conservative blogs do it, then shame on them too. Grow up and act like the adults you claim to be.
January 30th, 2009 at 9:36 pmRush Limbaugh is a big fat tub of shit.He does have a lot of “sheep” that listen to the shit that flows from his mouth.People who don’t know how to think for themselves. So they have to have someone to tell them what to think.
That is all.
January 30th, 2009 at 9:38 pmI think Rush Limbaugh is a great big jerk whose mouth just serves to divide us.
January 30th, 2009 at 9:39 pmAny time any Rethugnikkkan opens his/her mouth, just ask if Rush approved that message? That will cause them to throw him overboard after about 6 months.
January 30th, 2009 at 9:47 pmjoker’s back?
Umm… you obviously didn’t pay attention. Obama doesn’t give Limbaugh any credence.
Obama was in effect criticizing the Republicans in Congress for listening to Limbaugh.
I know that’s a bit of a subtle point for you to grasp, so I’ll give you a little time to digest it.
January 30th, 2009 at 9:47 pmHey wisfarmer,
“but mark my words, you folks who continue to trash talk Former President Bush, and any other conservative who wishes to be heard, will have your words turned on you. F UCK you, F uck your family, F UCK your house, F UCK your car, F UCK your life, you stupid F UCKING looser “diehard, rightwing conservative”
I WILL NEVER “MOVE ON” YOU F UCKING TRAITOR. If you stood anywhere near me I would choke the ever living sh}t out of your turd body, you F UCKING TRAITOR.
BUSH WILL DIE SOONER THAN LATER. I just plan on it being at the end of ROPE for his TREASON and WAR CRIMES.
You, dcikhead, are a traitor also.
January 30th, 2009 at 9:53 pmGUILLOTINE!!!!
wisfarmer Says:
YOu dont understand anything. YOU are a moron. I am ashamed to be the same species as someone as stupid as you. Just because in your ignorance you want Rush to do your thinking for you, being to stupid to do it for yourself doesnt mean he isnt a shameless propagandist, a liar, a fool, a racist and BAD FOR AMERICA. Feel free to be happy about being a brainwashed fool. Trying to take US to task for pointing out Rush’s racism, and lack of basic decency because you dont like your delusional fantasies exploded is just pathetic. If you dont LIKE what we say. Go play in traffic.

January 30th, 2009 at 9:56 pmwisfarmer Says:

You’re kidding, right?
Limbaugh says “Bend over and grab our ankles” on national media, and WE’RE the ones who need to grow up? Or Michelle Malkin suggests we string up reporters and Coulter talks about gassing judges or poisoning them, and we need to clean it up? You’re funny, but not in a good way.
Thanks for playing.

Folks, I was born here and I still live here in Sacramento, CA…. I know a lot of people here who are glad “rushy boy” ain’t flinging his hatred from our town anymore. And Mr. wisfarrmer who lives somewhere by me, is also a hater if he’s a diehard (brokan winged) consevative as he says…. I would like to tell all the people who are reading this from around the country how much of a hater “rushy boy” is. During his radio show, every once in a while he’ll say: “For those folks in Rio Linda” (It’s a demeaning comment). Only the people of this town and surrounding area knows what that means when he says it.
Rio LInda is a subarb of Sacramento. Was once a very poor, run down neighborhood (not anymore) that “rushy boy” can’t seem to let go of ever since he left town… One can’t hate others anymore than that.
And wisfarmer, real, loving Americans can give a rats a*s about his wealth…. “Are you my idiotic next door neighbor?”
January 30th, 2009 at 10:39 pmPlease tell me so I can move…..he,he,he,he,
There has been so much darkness for so long.
Now there has been a change.
When the light comes in, it shines on that which has been so dark for so long.
We are now seeing what the dark really looks like.
Let Rush and all the hate and fear mongers, bigots, homophobes, and racists spew all they want.
Give them more spotlights.
This is good America. This is good.
January 30th, 2009 at 11:28 pmwisfarmer = HOWARD CLARK. Same shit, same argument and the Shift key doesn’t fool anyone.
Did Rush even give you the reach-around he promised? Get a life you pathetic pukes. Think for yourselves.
January 30th, 2009 at 11:49 pmI, as do millons of Americans, believe that RUSH is not only factual but is telling it like it is. I read over some of the comments from the left wing fruitcakes and had a very good time. Thank you your lack of ability to think clearly is obvious. Also I should mention most of the comments were posted at times that productive Americans are working. Exactly as Rush has said.
January 30th, 2009 at 11:56 pmYears ago, when my conservative Republican sister in law asked my mother if she ever really listened to Rush Limbaugh. She replied “yes, long enough to get up and turn the channel”. Now she just says she doesn’t take anything that somebody who is high on opiates says seriously.
January 30th, 2009 at 11:57 pmSo gebjaa, explain to me how abusing Oxycontin helps you to think more clearly.
January 31st, 2009 at 12:00 amWhen John NoShame speaks, you can tell when he’s lying: blink, blink, blink, eyes constantly shifting to the left, back and forth, stiff neck, voice with little inflection. Same as during the presidential campaign.
Rush Lumpballs has all of the rethugs watertaps on and running full blast.

January 31st, 2009 at 12:22 amI hope Obama appoints more tax cheaters who have to come clean on their taxes before being confirmed….the gov’t needs the money.

The arrogance of your ignorance is matched only by your ignorance of your arrogance.
January 31st, 2009 at 12:53 amThe Rush Limbaugh’s of this world fill me with shame and sadness. They do not care about this country. He manipulates a portion of the public that feeds off of his brand of hate mixed with false patriotism. He throws them bones of anything he thinks they want to hear and laughs all of the way to the bank at their gullibility. Truth is, with his past of illegal drug purchases that would have landed most in prison, the real Rush Limbaugh lives a different life that the one he portrays to those adoring fans. The majority of Americans care little about what Limbaugh thinks. The election proves that.
January 31st, 2009 at 1:03 amRush Limbaugh is a Pathetic example of a Person,an American
January 31st, 2009 at 2:00 am(let’s check his Birth certificate to make sure he was “Born In the U.S.A.” He and Ann Coulter (?spelling) as I get so ill when I see her (of course on Fox News, where all the loser commentators end up and the right wing guest’s beg on their knee’s for air time. Seeing that one doufous who ran for President playing Bass Guitar with a band on his “show” is so absurd it must be a reality show. But getting back to reality, Limbaugh says this junk just for attention, he could not possibly think anyone takes him seriously, he is so out there and says the same thing over and over its pathetic. And of course John Mccain has now “remembered” he did lose the Presidential election (memory is really failing him)and his VP candidate was a whacko(that is putting it midly) and now he is lashing out at our New and Intelligent President Who ACTUALLY
has ideas (wow Think of that!) If W had not been asleep at the wheel and let the VP. and Rove and Rumdummy run the White House America would NOT be in the Dire Straits that the Country is in,what happened to John Mccain’s statement (multiple times) that he would do every thing he could to help
the New President, (right) and Pigs fly by my house every morning too(wish they would stop that!)Iraq has multi-billions from oil yet they have not reimbursed the USA a penny while our US Soldiers have been killed, wounded, maimed ad suffer from terrible health care when they do come home , both Medical and Mental Health Services, Cspan covered a Military Briefing
about the higher than civilian rate of Military Suicides(and how many have not been classified as such and how many Men and Women Soldiers who put their life on the line and suffer from PTSD, Anxiety, Nightmares,Depression,Inability to fit in and cope once back Home due to the extreme graphic images they saw and still see and the terror of not knowing who your enemy is.
America needs Help in areas from A to Z and with the Republicans voting all NO in the House on the Stimulus Bill (and more will be needed down the road,(as with W who knows where the billions from TARP went and what is actually left is being tracked down by the New Administration. President Obama is trying and He needs each and every one us to help
Going on air and telling the right wing conservatives that He
(Limbaugh) Hopes the President Fails is Treason in my view
Shut this guy down he is taking up airwaves that can be used in a better way, too bad radio is not going through the conversion like Television (analog to digital if I have that terminolgy right and there is another example, the Govt,(under W.’s watch ran out of coupons and yet the GOP voted against a simple extension on the actual conversion date, Guess the GOP
is Anti-American as alot of folks still use a antenna to watch television, I was surprised at the % who needed a converter box but they deserve a extension so they can get a $40.00 coupon or 2 so they can watch TV is that asking too much of
of the GOP to agree to that,I guess they prefer renaming Post Offices like in 2008 25 of 100 bills were for that (renaming Post Offices) but things have changed in the House, Senate and
in the President, Vice President and the Cabinet, THINGS WILL GET BETTER! God Bless America! dwwave P.S I have never listened to Russ Limbo’s show or watched it (wonder why?)
The open secret is that the hate-mongers are those like the author of this article who will wantonly, gratuitously label anyone they disagree with with the labels “hate”, “fascist”, “racist”, “sexist”, etc., in pure, unadulterated, polemic demagoguery and the-truth-be-damned. This is the same kind of tactic Obama used in the campaign against McCain. When McCain made a joke about middle class being defined as making under five million, he even commented that “somebody” will probably use that against him, and, as predicted, “somebody” did, as Mr. Obama blatantly ignored the context that any intelligent person (Obama was clearly not trying to address the intelligent) would have understood and made it out that this was really McCain’s view. Likewise, when McCain posited the possibility of U.S. troops being in Iraq for even a hundred years in a way similar to how our troops have been in Italy for nearly that long (anyone who’s been paying attention will have noticed that WWII is no longer going on in Italy…), Obama once again intentionally obscured and obfuscated and went around bellowing that McCain wanted to keep the war going a hundred years. Apparently, it didn’t matter in the least to Obama that that simply wasn’t what McCain said.
January 31st, 2009 at 6:12 amIt doesn’t matter in the least to these GENUINELY hate-spewing leftists that their words bear no relation to reality. All that matters is: 1) the effect and, 2) that it leaves them feeling better than everyone.
So it is with this article. “The hate talk radio host”: a mindless phrase parroted in utter ignorance of anything but the Orthodox Liberal Line. You want to see real “hate”… just watch Kieth Olbermann froth at the mouth. “Hate” is the Left’s infantile playground taunt that substitutes for anything of substance. I heard Limbaugh say he wanted Obama to “fail”, and I happened to hear it in context (context: something a liberal has never cared in the least about, except to obscure and distort it). When asked whether he wanted Obama to succeed, he said it depended on what “succeed” meant. If “succeed” meant turning America into the socialist dream the lefties envisioned, then, no, he wanted Obama to fail. A perfectly reasonable statement. Didn’t all the Bush-bashers want Bush to “fail” in the pursuit of the aims they disagreed with? “Oh, but that’s not the same thing!” Yes. It is. It’s called having a different point of view. But, again, this, in the universe of the far left, can only mean “hate”. They’re like a broken record, stuck on that predictable note. Why? I guess because it’s so easy, so gratuitous, so seemingly effective. The end justifies the means….
If this is the spirit that has won out in America… it’s over for America. Mindlessness has conquered. All that matters is whether you get an emotional high and weep a few very visible tears on inauguration day and feel like one of the “enlightened”. And know how to call people you’ve never even listened to (as, for example, dwwave) “haters”. Doesn’t matter whether you actually know what you’re talking about. Just matters whether you say what makes the other “enlightened” nod in approval. March in step. One, two, one, two, one, two…. Sieg Lib…. Welcome to the Brave New World.
Rush said he wants Obama’s policies to fail; not America. Read his whole statement so you can get the context of it. If you bother to actually read the bill you’ll see that most of the money is going to spending programs that won’t create jobs.
January 31st, 2009 at 6:24 amFirst off, I am a staunch supporter of the 1st Ammendment…..it’s my favorite with the 4th running a close 2nd. That said, I have had enough of the hate talk from Rush. I do not advocate taking OUR airwaves away from him or Clear Channel, but I do plan on listening to his show one more time so that I am able to write down all of his sponsors – local and national – and I will write/call/email every one of them to explain why I will not be purchasing their product/service. The NeoCons are so enamored with the “free-market system”…..well here’s how I interpret that.
Is it just me, or is anyone else upset that General Motors is crying and holding out one hand for a tax-payer bailout and then using the other hand to give some od our money to Rush to call the overwhelming majority of Americans stupid and saying that he hopes Obama fails (yes, I DID hear the entire quote and regardless of their weasel words trying to explain that away he DOES want the “magic negro” to fail).
Shame on you GM….shame on YOU Rush. You want me to be more patriotic by purchasing an “American” vehicle???….OK I will look into Ford Motor Co. (who did NOT take the bailout $) to see if they have a product that suits me….or perhaps I will use the “free-market-system” to purchase the vehicle that most closely matches MY needs.
How can GM be so 2-faced – “boo hoo hoo….please help us out”…”I hope that negro FAILS“….
Again, I DO NOT want Rush censored by any Govt. means….but I do want to let him know that millions and millions of us will NOT supprt his hatered and lies.
BTW…..I plan on doing the same for the Hannity Show which comes on the airwaves immediately following Rush in our small market radio station. I plan on calling the program director and letting them know what I intend to do and how I hope others will also do….which is what the NeoCons encourage – Vote with your wallet!
How can we get a nationwide boycott of Rush and Hannity sponsors underway?? I’m sure if Rush/Hannity get wind of this they will (continue to) call us “unpatriotic/un-American”, but is seems perfectly American to me, and I REFUSE to let one of those blowhards define patriotism for ME>
January 31st, 2009 at 6:41 amI think the British had a very popular comedy with this sort of thing.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:13 amRush’s entire statement was if Obama is going to take us deeper into socialism, then he would want him to fail.
Nothing wrong with that statement, we are not a socialist nation yet.
Give ‘em hell McCain!
January 31st, 2009 at 7:20 amLMAO, and you aren’t a good little lemming? Let’s spend 825 billion dollars on things as important as Hollywood and The National Endowment of the Arts?
You must be a government employee ;)
January 31st, 2009 at 7:26 amAhhh, once again, the leftist libtards using lies and deversion to promote BS. Rush said that he hopes zerObama succedes , but that his POLICIES fail. Can’t y’all get it right at least once?
January 31st, 2009 at 7:44 amAnd why is it when someone disagrees with some moron on the left, it’s HATE speech? Seems to me all the hate’s been coming from the left for the past 8 years.
McCain has always been a maverick and he’s at it again. Rush is not in any way defensible other than the fact he’s an American and people do listen to him and America’s greatness is for him to have his pulpit without being discredited and marginalized by a President.
January 31st, 2009 at 7:55 amAmerica is in crummy shape for a lot of reasons:
Clinton deregulating banking industry;
January 31st, 2009 at 8:03 amDow Jones becoming a for-profit organization;
Business schools teaching only about going after excessive profits and no defensive strategies;
greedinees from most everyone;
Living beyond your dreams for most everyone;
…..
I must “ass”ume that most of these comments are from DEMS…cuz most of the comments are mean spirited. You DEMS have the nerve to dog the mean comments of the REPUBS…but you people do the same thing and yet the President that you voted for has said time and time again that we need to respect each other and we are all Americans. Why don’t you take his good word of advice and be respectful??? This is a free country (so far) and until that “changes” all people are free to speak their mind and share their opinions…whether you agree or not. Show some respect, please!
January 31st, 2009 at 8:03 amOutlawcajun Says:
Ahhh, once again, the leftist libtards using lies and deversion to promote BS.
WTF??? …using lies and deversion to promote BS is SOLIDLY in the Conservative playbook:
“they have WMD”
“we will be treated as liberators”
“waterboarding is NOT torture” (even tho’ WE executed a foreign soldier for doing it to OUR troops in WWII)
…and on and on and on….
The overwhelming majority of this great nation stood up and said we are TIRED of your lies and deceit and favoring your rich buddies and WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK!!
Just yesterday I heard Hannity lambasting President Obama for critisizing Wall St. executives for handing out $18 billion in bonuses – with OUR TAX PAYERS MONEY – saying How dare the president tell American companies when they can and cannot make a “profit” and have the Govt. tell businesses WHAT and HOW they compensate their employees.
Well, if you’re begging for money after “screwing-the-pooch” it seems to me you haven’t EARNED a bonus.
I believe it is YOU, NeoCons, who are “drinking the koolaid” and falling into line like lemmings….and the fact that you fall into goose-step behind a college dropout, military avoiding, drug addict makes NO sense to me.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:06 amalways-open-to-discuss…..
then, was it OK for Maverick McCain to critisize Rush publicly for his “phoney soldiers” comment Sept., 2007??
also, you forgot another few reasons why America is in such crummy shape…
January 31st, 2009 at 8:17 amlike the Bush administration destroying trust in America around the world
like The Bush Admin. destroying trust amonst the majority of it’s own people
like chastising other terrorists for using torture while we do it with apparent impunity
like taking care of the fatcats while the middle class taxpayers flounder
like 8 years of lies and deceit under GW and his crew
Outlawcajun…..
January 31st, 2009 at 8:24 amYou are complaining about GW??? Under President Bush we were safe…here in the homeland and we still had our freedoms. Just wait and see…as President Obama takes your rights away…when the government starts telling us what cars to buy…what food to eat…what temperature to keep in our homes…what insurance to buy and so on and so and so on. After all that happens…then tells us what you thought of GW.
I wasn’t a supporter of GW either…he made many, many mistakes…but…in the end…until his last day in office…it was still AMERICA. Not sure what we will be a year from now and that thought is very scary.
You Jokers seem obsessed with Limbaugh. Can’t you talk about something more revelant like how Obama is going to solve world hunger, global warming, the economy, Iran, and everything else by the magic wave of his hand. It is unfair to expect everything from him. He is not the messiah. You doom to failure by expecting him to solve everything. He is not the “Great White Father in Washington”. (No pun intended).
January 31st, 2009 at 8:32 amNo one truly hopes he fails, not even rush. That would be wishing our own bad fortune. I’m sure Rush was referring to some of the tired old liberal ideas that Obama is espousing.
It is true, being liberal is a mental disorder! Limbaugh doesn’t want President Obama to fail, he stated that he wants his current “policies” to fail. Policies such as the loaded with pork stimulus plan, taking from the richer and giving to the poor, closing Gitmo without a plan for the detainees, socialized healthcare, a helter-skelter energy plan that does not address the real issues, too much government interference into industry and of course the small business person. Need I continue? All of you who hate Rush or other conservative talk show hosts like to read between the lines and pick out what you want to suit your agenda. Keep following the Obama Socialist like cattle and within a few years this country will be a true member of the Europeon Union, trading Euros not dollars. We are all entitled to our own opinion, and I do respect yours. Did Rush hit a nerve with the President?

January 31st, 2009 at 8:58 amis the first word in your name a reference to wearing all white with your face covered? BTW au contraire is french not spanish. who’s the dummy now?
As far as waterboarding, I consider it a necessary evil. I am sure that terrorist have a good laugh about the bleeding heart liberals concerned with the rights of people who indiscrimatively murder our people. Consider how many lives were saved by the information gained by waterboarding. Waterboarding is gentle treatment when compared with what terrorist use. They come into our country and use our generous rights and privileges to kill us. GW kept us safe. I hope Obama will do the same. I hope he realizes that he is dealing with fanatics. You can not come to terms with people determined to kill you, even if it means their own death. Iran is a country that will embrace its own destruction as long as they cause the destruction of their perceived enemies. Under its present leadership, it will self destruct and cause world wide devastation. You can not deal with these people and you can not deal with North Korea or any other thug nation.
January 31st, 2009 at 8:58 amGet some more pain pills and let Rush get addicted and fail
January 31st, 2009 at 9:04 amActually Rush has done more to help the Dems than any other media source. His rantings and ravings have made a lot of republicans flee that party of lunatics.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:06 am#213 Stew says:
another few reasons why America is in such crummy shape
Let’s not forget:
like invading a country so that EX (hooray) Vice-President Cheney’s company, Halliburton, can make BILLIONS AND BILLIONS!
like endorsing torture which was the biggest recruiting tool for terrorists and put American troops more in harm’s way
January 31st, 2009 at 9:17 amThat is BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of BLOOD MONEY!
January 31st, 2009 at 9:19 amCrabby, have you ever listened to Rush? If so, what is it he says that you disagree with. Be specific and quit talking in generalities. No more staying in lockstep with the Democratic Party line. No more bumper stickers please. And to vettechef, please be more careful with your words as drugs are more closely associated with liberals than moderates or conservatives.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:19 amwithout thinking Bilbo Hussein Baggins Says:
“The thing that amazes me about this who “controversy” is that so many people didn’t really hear what he had to say. Obama said that they should not “just” listen to Rush Limbaugh, meaning they should be open to other points of view (you know, like Obama is). So, what the Conservatives are doing right now is showing that they will just listen to Limbaugh and that has, in effect, made Limbaugh the head of the Republican party.”
Actually, obama, et al needs to learn to listen as
January 31st, 2009 at 9:28 amhe is misunderstanding and/or misquoting. Most
likely he is just lying and all the sheep are
going baaaaa.
WOw,
In todays society, we still have a vast audience for a HATER like the rush (aka IDIOT MORON HATEMONGER!). It is amazing that so many people till think he talks for anyone.
Remember the rush’s other rants about druggies? Now he is one. Remember about the obscene pay for real workers? He just signed a 40 million dollar contract. Remember his comments about the liberals trying to stop selling arms to sadam hussien? “And now the liberals want to stop President Reagan from selling chemical warfare agents and military equipment to Saddam Hussein, and why? Because Saddam ‘allegedly’ gassed a few Kurds in his own country. Mark my words. All of this talk of Saddam Hussein being a ‘war criminal’ or ‘committing crimes against humanity’ is the same old thing. LIBERAL HATE SPEECH! And speaking of poison gas . . . I SAY WE ROUND UP ALL THE DRUG ADDICTS AND GAS THEM.” – Rush (oxycontin) Limbaugh, Nov. 3, 1988
Well, rush and all his koolaid drinking followers, WAKE UP AMERICA, the people have spoken and they have voted !! Get on this wagon instead of trying to set it on fire.
I am going to check on the rush sponsors and start boycotting their product with loud rebut to them as well so they know why their sales were lost.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:36 amConsider how many lives were saved by the information gained by waterboarding.

That is incorrect as well as absurd
to JamBamWakeUpAMERICA
I am sure that Rush’s sponsors will holler ouch at the lost of your most important business. You liberals constantly refer to hate coming out from the conservatives but hate is all I ever hear from you liberals. The constant referral to Koolaid drinkers must mean that you are an admirer of Jim Jones. Quit spitting out the venom.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:50 amUnder its present leadership, it will self destruct and cause world wide devastation.
—–
January 31st, 2009 at 9:53 amHave you considered having your magic eightball serviced? Still I would be interested in hearing about the details of this world wide devastation. Will cats and dogs be playing together?
I am sure none of you Liberals saw or heard Rush’s comments b/c all of your analysis and this ridiculous article takes what he said completely out of context. Rush said that if Obama was trying to push a SOCIALIST AGENDA, nationalized healthcare, big big government, government owned institutions, etc. THEN he hopes he fails. He along with every other conservative on this planet does not want America to become SOCIALIST. THAT is what he said. He did not make a blanket statement claiming that he hopes that Obama will fail. Why don’t you all try reading and listening to the commentary before spewing your Liberal garbage everywhere. The people to fear in this country are your whacked out Senators and congressmen under the leadership of PELOSI and REID. They are the ones who are dangerous to this country – NOT Rush Limbaugh. GET A LIFE

January 31st, 2009 at 9:56 amYes, I can tell you how many lives were lost. Zero. And I also think that it is absurd that any fanatical moslem would dare to commit suicide in order to kill his perceived enemy (tongue in cheek). Wake up and smell the coffee, get your head out of the sand, and get a life. Who do you think is in charge in Iran? It is not I who is absurd.
The middle class is finally waking up and realizing
January 31st, 2009 at 9:56 amthat the real Repubs are the rich and powerful (Big
banking, big business) and their only agenda is to make themselves richer and more powerful by whatever means,
which includes abandoning the U.S. work force. We have joined forces with the poor Dems and have taken back our country. Look for more Republican bloodshed at the next election. Just take a look at the score board!! Democrats in charge—–Republicans down the toilet!!! And gird your loins buddy, I see a “Biden Clinton” ticket in 8 years!!!
Ba Bye
I don’t fear Rush. I think is just a buffoon hawking adjustable beds
January 31st, 2009 at 9:57 amWell, to think found here are Obomonites of the finest ilk! Vulgarites, snapping of jaws like a pack of wild dogs.
January 31st, 2009 at 9:58 amPretty clear too the the crowd is bright enough, but bent on ripping and tearing apart the fresh kill. You have the power, why does anything else matter…What are you frightned of? The Light? Truth will win. Anybody address any mail to the USSR lately?

January 31st, 2009 at 10:03 amYes, the dogs are rapidly acquiring nuclear missles. Do you think they will hesitate to use them? Dream on.
The whole premise of Iran builing a nuclear weapon and immediately using it is absurd. It would mean assured destruction and they know that. This whole fantasy has been sold to you. I know Iranians do you? Tell me specifically why you cling to this notion. Is it just something you were told? Why does any nation seek nuclear weapons technology. Why Israel, India, Pakistan, the US, Russia, and so on?
January 31st, 2009 at 10:07 amSorry that reads unclear. I didn’t mean to suggest that I know the minds of all Iranians as all societies have diversity. Whta I ment is that I know some folks from that nation and they have helping me to learn about their nation and it isn’t exactly the version manyy in this country have tried to cram down my throat
January 31st, 2009 at 10:10 amAll you liberal dems out there are fixing to see what major screw ups are all about. One good thing about the election I really love is now that you have a husseine in the whitehouse and a dem witt controlled house, When the smoke goes up in this country and things are really screwed up, you all are going to have noone to blame in this country but yourself for putting a liberal in the white house. My self I will be sitting on the shores of costa Rica watching the smoke go up over here.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:17 amThe trouble with America started when all the dems backed one athiest of taking the rights of prayer and bible reading out of our school system, while now even providing a seperate room in schools for the muslims and other cults to pray in. Since that time our kids are no longer disiplined in the way I was brought up in the school system. When in a time as never before the family unit has been broken down, Divorce is rampant, kids raised by one parent, or two of the same gender which is morality by it’s fiber broken down, (For God’s sake, He created Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and Steve, The plumbing don’t even fit right!!! No disipline in the home and if some tries to disipline their children they are carted off to jail, This is just but a few examples! What has America Become? No wonder we have record shootings in the schools, crime at it’s highest rate, Immorallity, baby’ being murdered by the million’s, and calling it choice, when at the same time if a person shoots a pregnant woman and kills her and the baby they are indicted for two counts of murder. What a double standard screw up is this? And all at the hands of big Goverment. When the government controls anyting it always gets screwed up. Government was not made to control you and I. Government was formed by our forefathers to be run by the people, and for the people.
All in one lump sum is this. God has had enough of the so called good ole US of A! Why can’t anyone see the moral decay where right is now wrong, and wrong is now called RIGHT! OR Is the problem NOW, that our borders have been open for so long that every Foreign Tom, Dick and Harry can come over here, and in 6 months collect Social Security benefits, Welfare, collect food stamps, and drain our system dry, and then get financial aid to open a Safari mart to sell their drugs out of, and become a US citizen and able to vote their favorite dem wit foreign born political figure in our offices of government while not speaking an ounce of english them selves. ALL AT THE HANDS OF DEMOCRAT BIG GOVERNMENT!!! THE people that put this idiot in office ought to be tried for treason!
To dbadass
Do you personally know any Iranians who are terrorist? I don’t think that in your wildest dreams, that you would call the people in control in Iran reasonable. Listen to the speeches coming out of there. They not only intend to get nuclear weapons. THEY INTEND TO USE THEM. THIS IS FROM THEIR OWN STATEMENTS. Read Hitler’s Mein Kaupf. He stated exactly what he intended to do and no one believed him. Learn from history.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:24 amCould someone edit #241 so that it says something?

To dbadass and wileyone:
January 31st, 2009 at 10:39 amAbout nuclear weapons? It’s not about a ligimate country obtaining nuclear weapons, It’s all about a country either intentionally letting the weapons get into the wrong hands
of a terrorist or being sloppy with the technology by allowing it to get into the wrong hands. Do any of you think that any terrorist wouldn’t hesitate to use these weapons against us in the USA? If you don’t think so take a look at
9-11. They have demonstrated their hate for any type of democracy we stand for even as an individual. They are not worried about starting a world war or even destroying themselves for God’s Sake. According to them they are looking for the 90 virgins they supposedly think they’re going to get when they go into the life beyond. What they don’t know know is that they have HELL to look forward too.
whoever said Biden/Clinton the next ticket must be nuts? Biden is a COMPLETE Buffoon and after Obama and his Liberal nutbag Congress destroy us over the next 2 years, you won’t see another Dem anywhere for years. And whoever said all Republicans are RICH. HELLOOOOOO – what Democrats are POOR??? They are ALL RICH, all of them – making millions off of books, speeches, and other garbage. And what Democrat ever helped the poor???? Get a clue. Republicans like to lower business taxes to create JOBS so people can work for a living and EARN their money instead of sitting back waiting for their government handouts.

January 31st, 2009 at 10:48 amI can not force you to listen to the news. You should keep up if you are really interested. Even CNN carried these news items (wonder of wonders) Try using the associated press to retrieve this information. Sorry, but I have to go to work to earn enough money to pay the taxes that are going to the banking industry because of The Democratic Congress and Bill Clinton’s deregulation of the banking industry and the subsequent mess with his making unsecured loans to people who could not and would not repay them for the purpose of acquiring real estate. So long.

January 31st, 2009 at 10:56 amHave fun at work.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:57 amThe moral fiber was broken down in this country starting with that, dbadass! I wouldn’t expect a liberal or a person such as yourself according to you that apparently does not even believe in a supreme being (You know God) the Heavenly Father who’s son is JESUS? I don’t expect you to understand any of that. I know it seems foolishness to you. Jesus said you wouldn’t. But will you tell me something? What is sin? What is right? What is wrong? Do you know the difference? If not may God enlighten you to know the difference.
January 31st, 2009 at 10:59 amSo am I to understand that none of the multitudes of nonChristians on the face of this planet understand morality? That is truely absurd
January 31st, 2009 at 11:01 amThere is none equal with another. There is one true living God. How you view it will not change that.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:02 amThen where do you think morality came from? Do you think it was all made up by non christians, Christians? Who stands up for morality? Who stands up for imorality? Can you tell?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:05 amHow you view it will not change that.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:05 am– Not for you because you choose to believe it. See that is the thing about faith. Seems sort of disrespectful to all of the other folks who choose a different faith. Doesn’t seem very moral to be so arrogant toward other believers.
Democrats embrace imoraity! more democrats do not believe there is a God. On the other hand, Republicans embrace morality. Most republicans believe in one true living God!!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:07 amWhat does that tell you?
It tells me your spelling and grammar is far worse than mine. The first sentence is also so broadly brushed as to not even be worth considering
January 31st, 2009 at 11:08 amWho is arrogant? At the same time I have a view like you do. I am able and have a right to express my view as you do even if you believe differently. By the way what is the definition of Faith as you put it?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:11 amI think I put it as faith not Faith
January 31st, 2009 at 11:12 amAnd why would it be immoral for me to be a believer and express my views, at the same time would it be immoral for you to be a non believer in my faith and express your views? that’s the wonderful thing about this forum!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:14 amfaith, Faith what is the difference? It’s the same word meaning the same thing. A letter capitalization means nothing.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:14 amAll I wanna know is if this hateful swine’s filth is still being force fed to our troops via Armed Forces Radio…Obama has been in office for 10 days and he should have been removed from that venue by now…

January 31st, 2009 at 11:17 amTalking about arrogant and immoral? What does this have to do with what we were talking about? Are you side stepping because you can’t cope with it?
Than why capitalize it in the middle of a sentence?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:17 amDemocrats embrace imoraity!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:19 am—
Okay. Let’s talk about this. Do you have Faith in this statement?
What a lot of people don’t know is that our fore fathers left to come over here and establish their own country (USA)to be able to worship the one and true living God as they saw fit because they were not allowed too. Their rights were taken away from them. It is now getting to be no different! At one time people were not even allowed to run for office if they didn’t believe in the one true living God because they knew what happened before. Now, our rights are being taken away everyday.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:27 amI have read thru every post in this catagory, and it is all about right versus left, republicans versus democrats, me versus you. I personally look at everyone running for office, and vote with my heart and my head on who would be the best for the country, whether it be republican or democrat, or even the oter alternatives. Do I feel that we got the best this time? NO!!! Would McCain have been better? NO!!! What we got was what each “party” wanted to throw at us. What I see in these posts is more of a bashing on President Bush and his policies, than a bashing on Rush and his mouth. I personally cannot stand Rush or anything he says, and feel that he has the personality of an unflushed toilet. I agree with only one thing Obama has said, and that is we need to work together no matter which party we support.
However, you need to keep in mind while you are bashing Bush, that while in office he had a mostly democratic controlled congress, telling him when he was allowed to wipe his behind. Now you have an entirely democratic controlled government telling YOU when to wipe yours!!! And as far as I am concerned, Obama only wated to be president for the “glory” of being the first black to hold the office. I am sure there were more qualified and experienced Blacks that would have been better suited for the job, and I would have gladly voted for on of them, over bambi and the pet gorilla he calls his wife.
The 800 billion “stimulus” package that will come out of your backside should not be given to buisnesses like GM or to the banks that controll peoples lives, but should be divided up and given to the people that have paid their taxes, “tax-free”. Let us decide how to use it. It would all be going right back into the economy, creating jobs [for people who wanted them] as most people would use the money to fix their homes, get a newer vehicle, pay bills, or just be able to restock their groceries for a change. The Dem’s have a history of raising taxes to the extent that most Americans will find themselves going deeper into the holes they are in rather than coming out ahead.
In short, we have already had our civil war, north angainst the south, we do not need another, republicans against the democrats. WE NEED TO BE UNITED, AS IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:28 amAre you worried about proper punctuation, capitalization? Or are you wanting to stay on task? Shows how you are trying to elevate yourself as being maybe smarter, prim and proper. What does this have to do with anythingthing we’re talking about??? DUH!!!!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:29 amSo which are better Catholics or Unitarians? How do all the rest. Can you offer up a heirarchy and which one did those fathers think was the one true sect?
January 31st, 2009 at 11:30 amIt was not about denomination, It was about a one true living God! They embraced the original manuscripts, the Torah, and the King James Bible which was translated from the original hebrew and greek language of the torah (old testament) and the new testament.
January 31st, 2009 at 11:37 amWhat are we talking about. Maybe you might address #270 or maybee 227 or what about 229. 244 might be interesting…
January 31st, 2009 at 11:37 amIt was not about denomination
January 31st, 2009 at 11:38 am—–
Exactly! So the Jews and the Hindus, and the Taoists and all the rest are equal. I am glad we agree
When you say the Jews, it depends on what sect your talking about. If it’s the Orthodox Jew’s which believes that Jesus was not the messiah, the hindu’s, taoists, are equal you are right! However, the Christian Jews are not the same and there is a big difference. One believes in the messiah the Risen Christ. One does not! Big Difference!
January 31st, 2009 at 11:56 amBig Difference?

January 31st, 2009 at 12:42 pmHey cynical1,
This nation has already been destroyed by George, Dick and Carl Rove, (Who will soon be in prison). That’s the prime reason why the Republicans have been removed from office by the people of these United States. Your “Do Nothing” president has been replaced with a team that has already gotten off their “Rush Limbaughs” and are steering this country in the right direction, despite your anal negative attitudes and your attempts to make them look bad. And I did not say all Republicans are rich!! I said all real repuplicans are rich. The rest of you are just “Wanna Be Republicans”. You’ve been brainwashed by Rush, who by the way is laughing all the way to the bank!!
January 31st, 2009 at 12:43 pmBiden Clinton, or maybe Clinton Biden and our First Gentleman “Wild Bill”.
Everyone knows that Limbaugh IS the voice of the KKK, er, GOP.
January 31st, 2009 at 1:03 pmOnce a bold individualist, worthy of his moniker as “The Maverick”, McCain is now just another ordinary member of the ditto heads, aka the “Hope America Fails Crowd”.
January 31st, 2009 at 1:10 pm#286 dbadass,
Yea! Just what I said the Christians are always the one’s under fire by you liberal dems! I agree we can start withing the church and clean up the hypocrits and phony pastors and Christians. I do not embrace that either! But let’s let the chips fall where they may. Let’s talk about the liberals that stand for the same thing GAY marriages and are proud to do so. Make no bones about it. That’s one thing for some within the churches to be found doing this secretly and hiding it and getting caught which in my opinion are sinners and lost people posing to be Christians and really aren’t. But to have people running for office that are not ashamed of their immoral acts and laugh about it, while doing it. THIS IS SICK!
January 31st, 2009 at 2:52 pmWhat is sick about loving gay folk being legally treated with respect? My daughter’s church has no problem with her two godfathers and it is a christian church. Both of these man stood upon their altar and assured their god that they were there for my kid. Are you gonna tell me that is sick?
January 31st, 2009 at 3:10 pmEugeneDebs Says:
The problem with this is that we had the fairness doctrine for a long time and this was NOT a problem that is because what the fairness doctrine said was NOT that everything said had to have a counterpoint but that if a PUBLIC ISSUE WAS DISCUSSED the other side had a right to be heard.
Not all public issues have exactly two sides. And when there are two sides, sometimes people want to express a point that’s somewhere near the middle of them. Political discussion ends up being too black-and-white as it is. You would just mandate that as a question of law.
You’re using anecdotal evidence for what is essentially a quantitative problem. But even so we couldn’t compare it quantitatively because the media landscape is vastly different today. There is a possibility of a “chilling effect” on media producers, as I have described. In order to want such a doctrine, there would have to be very good reason for it, enough to overcome such a possibility. I don’t see such a very good reason.
Nor is this in any way an argument to why it WOULD be censorship. There were plenty back then.
Making someone say something is much like making them not say something. I’d say that both constitute censorship, although of different kinds.
The airwaves STILL belong to us. It is a PUBLIC and DEMOCRATIC decision how they are used.
Picture an encoded satellite transmission beaming to a dish, then through cables to people’s TVs and computers. The underlying assumption of your argument is that the public has the right to decide what the content of that encoded information entails. I have a problem with that as precedent for any argument. Once you grant that for one argument, it can be granted for many others. Information works just fine without content regulation.
.
The deal we struck in the beggining was that in return for us allowing them to use OUR resource to make obscene buttloads of cash they would perform a public service. WE can decide how that is done and there STILL is no possible definition of censorship that includes demanding BOTH sides of an issue be heard.
I’d allow you a C-SPAN channel that just hosts debates on topical issues, but leave the other media producers out of it.

What is sin? What is right? What is wrong? Do you know the difference?
It’s wrong to lie to start wars, torture people, waterboard them, imprison them without legitimately determined cause, and enrich the rich at the expense of the public good.

There is none equal with another. There is one true living God. How you view it will not change that.
So you’re admiting that the “global war on terror” is in fact a religious war of Christianity against Islam?
.
rwellsaction Says:
Then where do you think morality came from? Do you think it was all made up by non christians, Christians? Who stands up for morality? Who stands up for imorality? Can you tell?
Check out John Locke sometimes. Morality, aka “ethics” is supportable through natural law. As for “who stands up for morality,” the answer is: progressives, across the board.
.
rwellsaction Says:
Democrats embrace imoraity! more democrats do not believe there is a God. On the other hand, Republicans embrace morality. Most republicans believe in one true living God!! What does that tell you?
You’re the pro- war, torture and poverty party. What does that tell you?
So if someone “believes the one true, living God,” while raping babies, they’re more “moral” in your eyes than an atheist who volunteers to help the sick? Because that’s what it sounds like you’re saying.
.
rwellsaction Says:
Who is arrogant?
You are. See above.
.
rwellsaction Says:
What a lot of people don’t know is that our fore fathers left to come over here and establish their own country (USA)to be able to worship the one and true living God as they saw fit because they were not allowed too.
England was, and is, officially a Christian nation. They came over here to get away from the restrictions imposed by having an official state religions.

However, you need to keep in mind while you are bashing Bush, that while in office he had a mostly democratic controlled congress, telling him when he was allowed to wipe his behind.
Not for the first 3/4 of his 8-year term. And for the last 1/4 of that term, the Republicans in Congress blocked anything the Democrats in Congress tried to do. Bush also started issuing vetos at that time. So, you’re exactly wrong.
.
independant13 Says:
And as far as I am concerned, Obama only wated to be president for the “glory” of being the first black to hold the office. I am sure there were more qualified and experienced Blacks that would have been better suited for the job, and I would have gladly voted for on of them, over bambi and the pet gorilla he calls his wife.

It’s the Christian religion that is alway’s under fire!
Not the others!
Tell that to the people under fire in the Middle East. You don’t even know what really being “under fire” for your religion is.
You’re the people starting the “fire.” We’re just defending common human decency against your attacks.
.
rwellsaction Says:
Think about it all you need to see is what each one of them stand for and embrace. It don’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
The problem is that a lot of people calling themselves Christians come here and, in the name of Christianity, say that other countries should be bombed because of their religion, that women and homosexuals should have their legal rights stripped away, because the Christian God says so, and that Christianity should be enforced in schools and government on everyone else. Pretty much the same things that radical Muslims believe in other countries, except just change the name.
Based on what we’ve seen, what y’all “stand for” and “embrace” is tyranny and committing evil acts against your fellow human beings.
.
rwellsaction Says:
Yea! Just what I said the Christians are always the one’s under fire by you liberal dems! I agree we can start withing the church and clean up the hypocrits and phony pastors and Christians. I do not embrace that either!
Wonderful! I like to hear more from people who espouse a version of Christianity that embraces peace and tolerance, as Christ himself did.
.
rwellsaction Says:
But let’s let the chips fall where they may. Let’s talk about the liberals that stand for the same thing GAY marriages and are proud to do so.
Dammit, just when I thought you were getting somewhere… I’m proud to stand for allowing gay couples to enjoy the same legal rights that heterosexual couples do, so you’re talking about me now. Let’s do that.

God I Can’t Stand These Rethuglicans!
February 1st, 2009 at 10:31 am“Mr. Limbaugh is a voice of a significant portion of our conservative movement in America.”
That is without doubt a correct statement, but it reveals the true problem with the “conservative movement”: they simply don’t know what is really going on. Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Reilly, etc. have one mission: to distribute propaganda and misinformation in order to make blue collar Joes and blue-haired old ladies vote against their own interests and instead support the policies that only benefit the already rich.
Imagine if Rush had to actually stick to the truth! He would have a much harder time putting together a “conservative” argument against much of anything. I know that many think that the restoration of the Fairness Doctrine is unnecessary or somehow censorship, but would Limbaugh and Hannity really be able to stand up to the opposing view? Sunlight is the best disinfectant – and shining light on the lies and half-truths spewed by hate radio would open the eyes of a lot of people.
Remember: a lot of these people actually think that Palin should run for president in 2012. Get my point?

EugeneDebs Says:
The problem with this is that we had the fairness doctrine for a long time and this was NOT a problem that is because what the fairness doctrine said was NOT that everything said had to have a counterpoint but that if a PUBLIC ISSUE WAS DISCUSSED the other side had a right to be heard.
Not all public issues have exactly two sides. And when there are two sides, sometimes people want to express a point that’s somewhere near the middle of them. Political discussion ends up being too black-and-white as it is. You would just mandate that as a question of law.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You are grasping at straws with this argument it doesnt even make sense. Virtually NO issue has only two sides. That doesnt matter. As long as A counterviewpoint is allowed instead of a single constant “conventional wisdom” making viewpoint. THIS is what the Fairness doctrine was before no reason for it to be even different. Two other points. FIRST I dont care one way or another about the fairness doctrine as I have already said and TWO THIS IS ALSO NOT A RELEVANT ARGUMENT. You stated it was censorship. Giving the other side a view cannot possibly be considered censorship which was my ONLY argument here not that we need the fairness doctrine. The argument you made has ZILCH to do with why the fairness doctrine IS censorship as you have said in fact you have YET to make a cogent argument why it is.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I am not. I am giving EXAMPLES to show you argument was flat out WRONG. You said it would end up forcing shows to not have a political content at all or be averse to controversy. Showing that didnt happen when the fairness doctrine DID exist is a DIRECT refutation that it would. I mean what is your evidence it would except you keep saying so. As my examples make clear IT DIDNT BEFORE. THIS is also NOT an argument to why the fairness doctrine, which again I DONT CARE ABOUT, is censorship. Cough up some reason why requiring both sides of a public issue be heard is censorship or admit it is just a talking point without substance all this dancing around the subject and no decent arguments why it is censorship.
Nor is this in any way an argument to why it WOULD be censorship. There were plenty back then.
Making someone say something is much like making them not say something. I’d say that both constitute censorship, although of different kinds.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
My GOD, that was DUMB. No one is MAKING someone say something. Those using OUR airwaves are given a megaphone. Saying that when you address a public issue you have to surrender the megaphone for just a bit to someone who disagrees to COMPLY with the public service aspect that was ALWAYS PART OF THE DEAL of getting that megaphone isnt MAKING anyone say something it is ALLOWING someone who wants to the option. If it is about terrorism no one is going to press gang someone into supporting terrorism. If there isnt anyone arguing the other side fine. So no it is a completly different UNIVERSE than censorship.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That is a false frame. No one is saying you have to have so many comedy shows or so many news shows or so many liberal shows. There is a REQUIREMENT written right into the FCC guidelines RIGHT NOW that they perform a public service. It IS a democratic decision how this is done. This is NOT IN DISPUTE. I dont care which way this is decided but there is NO reasonable argument that it is censorship nor that there is any first amendment issue involved. The fact is it IS a democratic decision again this is not in dispute the Supreme Court has already ruled on exactly this issue, and YOU are trying to frame it so that it would be a RIGHTS issue for the USERS of our airwaves that would trump OUR ownership rights.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Absolutly not. First YOU dont get to tell EVERYONE what to do with the airwaves that BELONG TO THEM. There is a public service requirement EVERY LICENCEE KNOWS THIS. If they dont like complying with their obligation they can go into the dry cleaning bussiness. The media producers make THEIR money off of OUR airwaves. WE can decide what their public service requirements are. This is a public decision, NOT YOURS, not mine but then again I. DONT. CARE. Only that it BE a democratic decision and there is no DISPUTE THAT IT IS. Again the Supreme Court has already ruled on this. YOU are wrong its that simple. You seem to want to put the corporations profit making ABOVE our rights of ownership. ABOVE the people and what is best for the public. IT IS A DEMOCRATIC DECISION. I dont care how it ends up but there is NO CENSORSHIP aspect period. No reasoned argument can POSSIBLY be made that a rule saying that since WE give them the megaphone we also say they have to share it with opposing opinions is censorship. In fact it is like the opposite of censorship.

February 2nd, 2009 at 1:24 amIf you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” The_Craven
Joseph Goebbels quotes
See Goebbels understood. Keep saying the same thing and dont let the other side be heard is BASIC PROPAGANDA 101
“I think there is a good reason why the propaganda system works that way. It recognizes that the public will not support the actual policies. Therefore it is important to prevent any knowledge or understanding of them.”
Avram Noam Chomsky quotes
Or as Chomsky points out keep UNDERSTANDING of the issue far from the public. Just repeat dogma so there is no real discussion about the issue only dogmatic reinforcement THAT IS WHY IT IS FAIR.
The bussiness community pays for the lions share of advertisement why should we allow them to control the message COMPLETELY that is sent to the public on the way to becoming conventional wisdom?
