MapleStreet Says:

No, his other behaviour still pushes the dangers of terror. So that wouldn’t jive for him experiencing an evolving sense of security.

However, I might wonder if his lapse is not understanding Twitter and all those other tubes in the internet that are getting clogged up.

The moment they touched down in Iraq the terrorists knew he and the others were there. If you think Twitter was a problem then your naive. The terrorists have satellite phones, radios and computers. Once they touched down in Iraq the whole world knew they were there. Even the Russians and North Koreans. No secrets were divulged only the fact that they had arrived.

I have an Idea. Lets shoot him for treason right after Sandy Berger (D), you know the guy who took secret documents stuffed in his underwear. No wait John Kerry(D Ma.) said it was an honest mistake to steal secret documents if you stuff them in your underwear. Yup.

MapleStreet Says:

By posting his itenerary on Twitter, it almost seems like Hoekstra doesn’t believe what he is himself saying about being at war and the need for secrecy.

Or maybe he felt safe enough that it didn't really matter. Good job George Bush and a thumbs up to our military for a job well done.

There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets he stays a stranger
With every move he makes another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow

Secret NEOCON man, secret NEOCON man
They've given you a number and taken away your name

Beware of pretty faces that you find
A pretty face can hide an evil mind
Ah, be careful what you say
Or you'll give yourself away
Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow

I think this is just him being clueless. It isn't to the same level as a military unit being deployed, just a measure of protection so we don't get our Congressmen kidnapped when they go overseas. I'd hate to see the guy being beheaded on some Al Qaeda tape. As such, it's like, they could probably mention it to a few friends but not broadcast it in a press release. He probably thought Twitter was more like the former and didn't realize that anybody anywhere in the world could read his tweets.

Besides, he's a Congressman, not a soldier. I don't think there's a law saying they can't mention the trip, it's just a really really really bad idea. But I know I sure as hell wouldn't travel with him to a warm zone after this.

Basically, he's a stupid Republican who doesn't understand the implications of technology or of his own actions, and who endangered the lives of himself, other Congressmen traveling with him, and their security detail. But I don't think he actually broke any laws...

What’s next, Bill O’Reilly lists that he’s a bisexual on his searchable MySpace profile or that John McCain accidentally forwards an e-mail of his “little soldier” to everyone on Capitol Hill?

It's totally stupid to think that what's keeping Iran from making a nuclear bomb is the knowledge to make a nuclear bomb.

However, by giving up this secret visit, Hoekstra may have made everyone vulnerable to a shoe attack.

Don't you even remember when we "won" the war and took over the government one of the things we guarantee the Iraqi people was a continuation of their 100% "FREE" health care, compliments of the US taxpayer. Yes, the Republicans are against free health care for use citizens but gladly gave it to the Iraqi's. Part of that $750 million dollar per day the American taxpayer spends in Iraq. Yes, that's $750 million dollar of our tax money every day, 365 days a year, going to the Iraqi people. Just think if it went to us. 2 days of money we send to Iraq would pay for a four-year college education for every Senior in high school in this country. 2 weeks of money we send to Iraq would pay for 100% of the medical bills of every person in the United States this year. Ask Congress to do that and they say we don't have the money. Ask them to send that money to Iraq and it's in the national interest. So, next time you have to think twice about going into the hospital remember your tax money pays for 100% health care in Iraq compliments of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice.

This should be the very last time Hoekstra enjoys any kind of covert travel on the people's dime. Hoekstra is a treasonous SOB and as stated above needs to be divested of his security clearance pronto!

This needs to get to the MSM and the people need to know that there are definitely "traitors among us" posing as civil servants....beginning with Hoekstra.

"Hoeksra (R-MI), the ranking member of the House intelligence committee, revealed classified intelligence information on Twitter when he reported on his “congressional trip to Iraq this weekend that was supposed to be a secret."

Simple answer here: PULL his security clearance (the FIRST thing done whenever there's a security breach) and then kick his ass OFF the intelligence committee. He obviously 'isn't' (intelligent) and, has demonstrated himself a risk to others.

Period. End of story.

A Navy Viet Vet that enjoyed a TS (Top Secret security clearance, and, had it yanked for smoking pot). THIS guy IS a risk, I wasn't. (EVERYONE in the Zummi Navy was toking, even straight guys (boozers, stateside) when in the PI and Vietnam, I KNOW,I partied with them. (Including a Commanders).

What's next, Bill O'Reilly lists that he's a bisexual on his searchable MySpace profile or that John McCain accidentally forwards an e-mail of his "little soldier" to everyone on Capitol Hill?

Republicans need teenagers to show them the ropes of technology.

This is not the first time Rep. Hoekstra has revealed classified info as a ranking member of the House Intel Committee. But looking at his twitter account I really enjoyed this one sent within the context of the Republican Retreat:

"Republicans ought to get Democrats to file their taxes. You only have to pay if you get appointed to the cabinet! This is outragous!"

Who was it they feted at the retreat again? Oh yeh, Joe the Plumber, the guy working without a plumbing license and who owes back taxes.
