RNC Chair Steele on his own party: ‘No reason, none, to trust our words or our actions at this point.’

On Glenn Beck’s Fox News show this evening, Beck told RNC Chairman Michael Steele that conservatives are “pissed” at Republicans because they don’t “expect socialism” from them. “Why should we even think twice of pulling a lever again?” asked Beck. Steele responded that he was right and that voters have “no reason” to trust the GOP “at this point”:

STEELE: Yeah, no, Glenn. I’m not gonna, look, I’m not going to soft pedal this with you. I’m not going to try to blow smoke either. The reality of it is, you are absolutely right. You have absolutely no reason, none, to trust our word or our actions at this point. So, yeah, it’s going to be an uphill climb.

Beck and Steele comedy routine — running backwards away from Bush as fast as their little legs will carry them. Now that he’s gone we’ll hear more and more about how he wasn’t a “real conservative” — and that the “conservatives” hadn’t really been running things for the last eight years.

I never thought a grown black man would become a willing Uncle Tom to a bunch of obstructionists who answer to big business, in totality for the 2010 elections.

But yeah, I don’t trust Mr. Steele or any Republican who votes against something, then takes the money they voted against.

If you vote against “socialism” then take the money “for it”, you’re having your salmon and french fries then having your chocolate cake brought in by the stewards too.

I hear Lindsey Graham is now up for the role of Two Face in the next Batman movie.

  13. wiley says:

  14. 5th Estate says:

    just thinking out loud here….

    The context is “conservatives”.
Beck identifies himself as a ‘conservative’.
Steel addresses Beck personally, as though he represents conservatives.
Conservatives are a major force in the GOP and Steel is the RNC chair.

By being “honest: with Beck is Steele identifying with Beck, and ‘conservatives’ rather than the presumably ;larger tent of the GOP?
Is Steele actually legitimizing Beck by responding in this fashion?

All I can think of is that Steele is as crazy as Beck, the GOP are crazy for having Steele as RNC chair, and the whole lot of them are flailing about in a foam of craziness and incoherence.

I guess it comes down to this:

Who are conservatives and Republicans going to believe> The guy who says your Party can’t be trusted who has been entrusted with YOUR party, or…ummmm... the guy who says your Party can’t be trusted?

    WTF???!!!

And you know what the means!

November 2010 is going to be the next ass kicking the right wing of America deserves. Love it.

Of course it’s going to work. Cracker white America fears the stimulus because it’s a Democratic piece of work now, because the neocons have acted like a-holes through the process. Instead of helping, they’ve wounded themselves.

Now once it becomes a trump card toward economic recovery, Rushtard is in major trouble as the defacto head of the RNC. He has to pray for failure and a Depression, so strife will bring him and his party power and millions of people misery and hopelessness.

The ultimate act of selfishness and being petty when we all need to work toward a common goal.

Republicans have gone “all in” on this, and an even moderately successful turnaround will seal their electoral fate.

    The Law and the Sabbath

The Pharisees were totally convinced that their laws (both written and oral) and religious observances were correct. The idea of the Messiah breaking these laws was unthinkable to them.

Throughout His ministry, Jesus violated many of their oral laws. He mixed freely with tax collectors and sinners, making Him ceremonially unclean (Luke 7:39). He ate and drank with them, and was called a glutton and a drunkard (Luke 7:34). He ate with ceremonially unclean hands (Luke 11:38). He broke their Sabbath laws by healing people, and gleaning corn to eat (Luke 13:14, Matthew 12:1-2). He forgave peoples’ sins, which to the Pharisees was blasphemy (Luke 5:21). He also freely criticised the Pharisees for their hypocrisy and self righteousness (Luke 11:37-52).

In the Pharisees’ eyes, Jesus was guilty of law breaking and blasphemy. The idea of Jesus criticising them was an outrage (Luke 6:11). They also saw Him as a threat both to their popularity and their authority over the people (Luke 13:17). Because of this they plotted to kill Him.

Throughout His ministry they questioned Him, trying to catch Him in His answers in order to hand Him over to the Roman Governor (Luke 11:53). In the “Dictionary of the Bible”, D. Eaton says,

“They put testing questions to Him, e.g. as to the way of inheriting eternal life (Luke 10:25ff), as to the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:34ff, Mark 12:28ff), and as to the law of divorce (Matthew 19:3, Mark 10:2).

By today’s definitions, he might even be considered a commie/socialist type.

Was Jesus a Christian, or a Jew?

Were his followers Christians, or members of the Jesus Movement; A 1st Century following many, at the time, deemed a “CULT”?

When Jesus spoke of NOT judging others, was this because it was the conventional way of the day?

When Jews sought to stone a woman for her adultery, was that because the Jews were acting NOT in accordance to the common “Traditional Values” their elders taught them?

Are you inept or just purposefully being disingenuous?

When Jesus said to the masses to let go of the conventional “Laws” and “Commandments” in favor of just two, was this because he was extolling the long standing “Traditional Values” of Judaism?

    This nation needs conservatism.
    __________

We just had EIGHT YEARS of conservatism. We’re a laughingstock around the world, except for those we already killed and/or are scared sh*tless of us, our economy is a smoking crater, and the place is barely functioning.

Please, try selling your brand of “conservativism” to the country. Please.

If you are favored by God why did he make you so stupid, pompous, and easily brainwashed? I think you are just too bone ignorant to recognize reality

  100. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Daryll: Continue to denigrate Hoosiers. You may not realize it, but we are favored by God, because of our choice to serve him.

Given your serious lack of prophetic skills (?President-Elect Huckabee was God’s choice too, according to the Book of Daryll), I think you should stop speaking for God.

  101. Hoodathunk says:

    CORRECT!!

Sounds like a judgment to me. By your own definition you are not a Christian.

  104. Hoodathunk says:

Most of the Christians I know speak to their god. Haven’t heard one yet claim to speak for him.

“Why, it’s not judging when I do it. I’m just showing you the way to Heaven by pushing you over the cliff of Damnation.”

    Witness THAT!!

    .

  112. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Daryll, I have made it abundantly clear that I am a church-going, God-loving, dedicated and active member of the body of God. You have arrogantly claimed to be “witnessing” to me to “save” by denigrating my form of Christianity and dogma. You have said that I was destined to hell because of my beliefs. That is judgment.

As Jesus said about the Pharisees, you put obstacles in the way of people getting to heaven that God himself does not. You don’t bring people to God. You make us all wish we were in a “witness protection program”.

  113. BSG_Fan says:

  117. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Zooey, I have to admit that when the phrase “witness protection program” came to me (would Daryll say it was from God?), I almost laughed outloud myself. I guess the idea has been germinating a wile.

  118. wiley says:

That was Yahweh that was the righteous, jealous God. I don’t think Jesus called himself God. Old Testament Christians amaze me.

  120. The Republic of Stupidity says:

  164. Game of Life says:

repugs actually believe that changing their name will bring life into their lifeless party. in repugs’ case they gave steele the other repugs party.

I guess steele didn’t see his constituents at mcchimpy and palin’s rallies.

btw — when is steel going to speak at Hangemhigh, Arkansas. I can’t wait to see him get run out of town.

    AHAHAHAHAHA

Only repugs can believe that changing their name and not their ideas will draw people to join their drowning party. NUTS!

repugs are empty shells they’re always on the wrong side of nature.

PS — I warned y’all steele is nutty.

  165. JohnnyRussia says:

Steele says it’s “going to be an uphill climb.”

    Ya don’t say!

Imagine being the chairman of a party that finds it necessary to actually converse with the likes of Glenn Beck in order to pacify your base, which I like to refer to as the GOP Confederacy.

    Wow! Uphill all the way!

  167. Perry logan says:

    Q U E S T I O N:
How do you know a (R)ushpublican is lying?
    They claim it’s the truth.

    This also works with “myths”.

If a Republican says something is a myth, you know it’s true. For example, if you want to know the truth about gun control, read “Ten Myths about Gun Control.”

In this way, Republicans lead us all to the truth…

    8 Years without a Leader

  168. telestai2 says:

It’s not PRECISELY “the horse’s mouth“. . . which produced a rare actual fact, but Steele has, probablby accident, confirmed the beliefs of millions of fed-up Americans.

I smell fear in their voices….hehe!

  170. jarjarbush says:

What does Steele mean by “at this point”?
This country has not for over 40 years had any reason to trust the Republicans words or their actions.
Trust is as foreign a concept to republicans as monogomous heterosexuality is to Larry Craig.

  171. jarjarbush says:

You are correct Whoknu. You can really smell the fear in the republicans’ voices when they are talking out of their asses.
The fear does not smell like lilacs.

  172. Freedem says:

We really need to point out how UNSOCIALIZED the Gang Of Pirates are/have been. That is Unsocialized as in unsocialized child or unsocialized dog. Like tearing up the furniture, refusing to play fair, leaving surprises on the carpet, and biting anyone who annoys them.

No wonder they have so much fear about being socialized.
