The causal reason today is for the sake of oil. There is no interest in colonization, such as with the British attempt, simply exploitation. Not necessarily for the resources of Afghanistan, but because of the need for an oil pipeline through it’s territories. Still it was worth it for the best Merlin I have had in years as well as some other good stuff. Redhead is no longer common in this area and we had a couple other really good things. Still despite the tough conditions, well worth the trip. Five mammals was less than we expected. Nevar
