Steele takes down his blog.

By Amanda Terkel on Mar 6th, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Steele takes down his blog.

In recent days, RNC chairman Michael Steele has been “getting ripped apart” by conservative commenters on his blog, in response to his comments originally criticizing Rush Limbaugh. (He has since backed away from them.) Andrew Perez on The New Argument notes that in the past few days, Steele’s blog has been disabled, and now just redirects to the RNC homepage. Perez writes, “One has to wonder if the RNC has taken the site down in response to the attacks being launched there by the conservative base.” According to the Google cache version of the site, the last post on Steele’s blog was published on March 1. Well Archie B,

Maybe they were removed before the world could see. You know how the GOPers like to cover up the truth! Maybe the socialists or the ghosts and ghoblins stole them…?

  3. WAYNEBRO says:

If he took down his blog and bowed to Limbaugh then he’s spineless.

If he wanted to change the party, and show true leadership, he’d have told them to stick it.

Now he’s just another one of Limbaugh’s cuckolds.

  26. 5th Estate says:

I’ve seen bits of that before, but this whole clip is choice!

A notable part is when Rush says he reflects a majority view, when in the audience those who applaud him look like about 10% of the total.

Then he crowds the camera (reducing the visual of most of the audience not clapping him) and claims an instant ‘movement’ had somehow appeared to ’shut him up’!
After 1 challenge, one supporting voice and more opposition noises than there were of support.
    Ouch!

And, to get back near the topic, perhaps the most hopeful sign about the new Administration is the return of science, logic, and intellectual curiosity to American government.

It’s entirely possible that history will judge Bushco’s crimes against all things intellectual and environmental to be the worst.

The precious time wasted trying to debunk environmentalism, and anything the simple-minded can’t wrap their stunted intellects around, is nearly enough to throw me into a rage.

Speaking of eagles. Back in the 60’s the Bald Eagle was all but extinct in the lower 48 due to the effects of DDT. Now? Along a mere 25 mile stretch of the Mississippi we have 400 breeding pairs. The choice river habitat is so crowded that they are building nests in city parks throughout Minneapolis/St. Paul. Peregrine falcons have been reintroduced after being extirpated for over 20 years. And giant Canada Geese returned after being thought extinct.

All of those great birds were jeopardized by DDT. After the ban, all have made dramatic comebacks. Party politics has nothing to do with the discussion. We stopped using DDT and their was a dramatic and rapid improvement in the environment.

We, as a species, know that we have to stop crapping in our beds. We know that we can fix things. We can’t wait for China to lead the way. We can’t wait for Jebus to save us. We, as a species, must drastically change our attitudes about pollution and we have to do it fast.

Of course, our worthy troll can’t acknowledge that. Nor can he acknowledge the fact that the Reichwhiners have done everything in their power to convince the ignorant masses that pollution isn’t a solvable problem. In fact. They have done all in their power to convince the ignorant masses that environmentalism is unpatriotic and insane.

  183. RUCerious says:

The extinction of eagles would be a sure indicator of end stages of natural life on earth.

Yes, but the extinction of trolls would be a sure indicator of the beginning of the resumption of normal life in this country.

  184. RUCerious says:

    Thanks dbadass, now dem’s boids!

  185. RandomChaos says:

    DB,
    Now that’s funny!

  186. dbadass says:

Archie try to grab onto anything which is floating….

  187. Xisithrus says:

    I dont understand Voice FTP

  188. RandomChaos says:

Hey looky here is it the Seigfrid in Roy act again?

  189. RandomChaos says:

    Xis…..
Huh? You mean Voice over IP or VOIP?

  190. Xisithrus says:

No, I mean Voice From The Past.

  191. RandomChaos says:

  192. The Republic of Stupidity says:

I see some other folks would like to use the thread for a while.

The TP Birders Club hereby adjourns for the evening.

***As TRoS turns, his eyes get BIG when he sees what’s flying his way. He ducks just in time as it splats against the wall …***

Heh… it might have been flying, but THAT weren’t no bird.

We will now resume our regularly scheduled slap fight…

HEY… troll… yeah, YOU! THIS is a bird!

  193. DRxJ says:

Voice from the Past = rachel

    Move on.

    Nothing to see here.

  194. Xisithrus says:

Ah Rachel. The one who has ventured where they should not have.

  195. RandomChaos says:

Oh and Archie, your still wrong. an NP has an RN before it. My wife the new R.N.,N.P. says so.
    Asswipe

  196. joe cantwell says:

    so steele

    takes down his blog, eh?

    *

    knew he would.

    *

  197. RandomChaos says:

    Rachel an actual abductee?

  198. dbadass says:

Damn you weren’t dumb enough to write checks were you?
Damn boy, now Midge can totally blackmail your ass

  199. RandomChaos says:

Archie, just shut the hell up asswipe. You have no idea what my wifes paycheck or I.D’s say.

  200. RandomChaos says:

    Pffft! Again, your clueless.

  201. RandomChaos says:

Possession of valid California RN/NP license, must have Nurse Practitioner furnishing license within six months of hire.

  202. dbadass says:

Does it require extra training to become a naughty nurse? Now would that be a nnp or a nrn?

  203. RandomChaos says:

    DB,
I believe those are just simple NP without the furnishing license;-)

  204. RUCerious says:

Poor Archie, the meathead’s boning his daughter upstairs, and he’s powerless to stop it. All he can do is bytch about it and flip the channel. If he can figure out how to use the remote.

  205. RUCerious says:

Those were the days, eh Arch?

  206. Bobwurst says:

    RandomChaos Says:
Hey looky here is it the Seigfrid in Roy act again?

I thought Roy was the pitcher and Seigrid was the catcher…

  207. RUCerious says:

Oh, and Arch, ask your new partner if that itching sensation is crabs.

  208. Bobwurst says:

AAAAAAAAAAchie? Aint ya comin ta bed? AAChie why ya got yer pants down when yer usin the computer? OOOh AAAchie!

  209. RandomChaos says:

Wasn’t there some thing going on secretly with Archie and Meathead?

(My apologies to Carol and Rob)

  210. Bobwurst says:

Hey Archie, what’s the difference between a meathead and a dittohead? One of them is an ignorant unthinking leach, and the other went to college.

  211. RUCerious says:

Random, yeah, but it was hard to tell the circle from the jerk.

  212. RandomChaos says:

    Bobwurst,
Ya know, I missed that typo. But now that you point it out, I stand by it:-)

  213. RUCerious says:

As I recall, Aaahchie wasn’t too arfully fond of da culuds, now was he?

  214. RandomChaos says:

Let me guess. Our Troll Archie chose the name of a fictional 70’s sitcom character because he thinks it epitomizes his beliefs.
What is it with these repugs and fictional TV characters?

  215. Bobwurst says:

    RUCerious Says:
As I recall, Aaahchie wasn’t too arfully fond of da culuds, now was he?

Well there was that one episode where he kissed Sammy Davis Jr. on the lips…Maybe that’s why our current troll chose that name. It’s starting to make sense…

  216. RandomChaos says:

My dad was Archie Bunker. Just a little more refined ;-)

  217. RUCerious says:

Nite All, gotta get da kids to bed!

  218. RandomChaos says:

Norhwestern Republican. He has passed now, so I will just say I am glad I chose not to follow his path.

  219. Bobwurst says:

You have to wonder about someone who would choose as a screenname the name of a character who was the unwitting butt of the joke. Archie Bunker was an ignorant bully and an ass who never understood just how stupid and classless he was. and here, 40 years later, we have an individual who so admires that racist caricature of a human being that he chooses that name.

  220. RandomChaos says:

Later RUC, tell a good story.

  221. RandomChaos says:

    I out now to folks.
    Nite all,
    even you AW Trolls.

  222. RandomChaos says:

    Bobw,
just sayin right. it does start to make sense though.

    anyway, gnite.

  223. Bobwurst says:

RAndom, our parents are what the are, or were. They want us to better than them, to evolve, I hope my daughter looks at me when I’m old and says with love in her heart, WTF.

  224. RandomChaos says:

If that’s all over the map to you, then I stand by my comment that you are clueless and should STFU.

    Now GNITE

  225. Bobwurst says:

    Good Night Random
    Bite me Archie.

  226. RandomChaos says:

    Archie nobrains,
Ask your plastic NP acquantance what an NP furnishing license is.
    Man you are thick.

  227. RandomChaos says:

    I will spell it out for you r e a l s l o w
My wife has studied and recieved her associates, bachelors, and masters degrees in nursing and medicine. She has passed both National Licensing Certification Test for RN and NP.
Without her NP FURNISHING LICENSE, she cannot prescribe medications.

This means you can not get any Oxycotin from me, so give it up already

  228. Zooey says:

What if Archie woke up one morning with a fully functioning brain?

Ah well, I’m not into fairy tales…

  229. Wayne A. Schneider says:

If someone told me that he thought that “Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, David Shuster–and all the other sneering, snarking lefties on the channel–were simply fronts for crony-capitalist lobbying and looting,” I would say they obviously had no idea what they were talking about. And probably never bothered to learn anything about them, either. Because, you have to admit, it’s a pretty stupid idea.

  230. Jane E. Schneider says:

Here we go again, guys – same pattern, night after night.

  231. RandomChaos says:

    Zoey,Wayne,Jane

    that pattern Jane?-)

    jk, hi folks!

  232. ebbAndflow says:

RandomChaos & TRoS: you live in one of the richest avian areas in the world.
    (Being in The Pacific Flyway)
Hawk Hill (Marin Headlands, just north of GGB) during fall migration (mid-Oct) there may be 70 – 100 hawks per hour flying over head.
You seem to be in the Alameda area ~ check your bridges for nesting pairs of Peregines.
One of the eyasses from the ‘07 nest in San José has been tracked in Emeryville.
Oh, and the SF PG&E scrape/nest is again occupied and on camera.
A pair of Bald Eagles is already sitting eggs (nest is on a power tower) at one of the South Bay reservoirs.
The Bay is making a comeback thanks to those who really care.

  233. Jane E. Schneider says:

Hi, RC and everyone (well, almost everyone.)

EbbAndflow, any habitat recover is good news!

  234. RandomChaos says:

The Bay is making a comeback thanks to those who really care.

To bad not many if any repugs make that list.

  235. Wayne A. Schneider says:

    RandomChaos Says:

The Bay is making a comeback thanks to those who really care.

To bad not many if any repugs make that list.

If there’s a way they can make money off it, such as through tourism or park entry fees, they’ll take care of it. If their income depends on it, they’ll take care of it. Otherwise, it would be a waste of money to them. That’s just how little they care.

  236. KayInMaine says:

It’s official. If you go to the RNC site and put your cursor over the tab “Blog” at the top, you only get the pathetic RNC blog and not “Steele’s Blog” as we were able to access last week until it was taken down.

Is the RNC in disarray? Yep! Love it.

  237. KayInMaine says:

And who wants to bet that the trolls never knew Steele had a blog because they don’t take their own party seriously and have never gone to the RNC website ever to check it out?

  238. Perry logan says:

What a crushing blow to the world of letters.

  239. Bozo The Neoclown says:

so much for the repukies reaching out to bold new “urban/suburban” markets. where are all the concern trolls screaming “racism” now like they were for burris?

  240. Trollspotter says:

    Archie B Says:

What if we were to wake up and see that MSNBC’s leftward lurch has been a veil, a cloak of disguise, covering up one of the great corporate money-grabs of all time? That’s right: What if Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, David Shuster–and all the other sneering, snarking lefties on the channel–were simply fronts for crony-capitalist lobbying and looting?

What if you weren’t completely obsessed with Keith Olbermann, ThinkProgress and Newshounds?

What if you didn’t live your life in a state of constant fake outrage?

What if you actually believed in putting your country first?

What if trolling lost its appeal and you used all that time to actually do something productive with your life?

  241. barfly says:

The dems should encourage Rush to run for elected office. Of course he’ll ask “Well, why would I take a pay cut to simply be another elected conservative voice among many, when I can much more effectively convey conservative thought and principle in my present job?”

Democrats can answer “So, you are willing to make a fortune talking about conservative principles, but not willing to risk a moment of time to attempt to DO anything about our country’s problems. At some point, a person who makes a kings’ wages talking about America’s problems should be obligated to actually step forward, to take his political opponent’s blows, and not to simply cheerlead from the stands.

  242. ForTruth says:

    The bird is the word.

  243. dbadass says:

Are we back to birding? I have a couple of very excited titmice and a white breasted nut in view right now

  244. Trollspotter says:

    Archie B Says:

    by known troll

    Oh, the irony….

    Mr. Philby/Mr. Sucks:

Which “known troll” do you think I am? Do you have any proof at all? Or do you just like to make excuses for your own behavior based on what you imagine others to do?

  245. Trollspotter says:

Yes, you’ve just accused me of being a “known troll” without any proof. Where’s your proof? What site do you imagine I’ve trolled under what name?

  246. dbadass says:

So Archie did you ever mess with Forsythia?

  247. Trollspotter says:

The Olbermann-obsessed troll who goes by various handles has certain phrases he repeats over and over. One of them is: “No proof?” Just the way you’re doing now. The next line is “Shocker!”

You can simply google “no proof? shocker!” and see which sites pop up.

  248. Trollspotter says:

Another obvious clue is the habit of plagiarizing other sites without accreditation. The way that you, “Archie B,” have done in #289 and #314. That’s a dead giveaway.

  249. joe cantwell says:

    arch,

    busted.

    nice job ts.

    :)

  250. youtube says:

goodbye steele, that’s what we want.

  251. dbadass says:

The little ones are so cute when they are sleeping…

    Groundhog Day?

  252. Trollspotter says:

    joe cantwell Says

    nice job ts.

    Thanks, Joe.

  253. Trollspotter says:

    Archie B Says:

How do you know I am plagiarizing?

All one has to do is google what you post.

    Archie B Says:

Why do I get the feeling “troll spotter” is not the name you normally post under?

Interesting question. I’d say you’re desperately hoping that to be the case because it would make you feel better about yourself.

    Archie B Says:

Ironic? Little bit of a hypocrite, wouldn’t you say?

Me? Not in the least. Feel free to contact the owners of this site and ask them if I post under any other names.

  254. Trollspotter says:

    republicans hate facts Says:

Archie Butthead posts under SEVERAL ALIASES, that’s why IT ASSUMES everyone is AS GUILTY as IT IS ;) That’s why REPUBLICANS always think everyone is a PERVERTED THIEF – too much MIRROR TIME! ;)

Right on the money, RHF. So many of these right-wing trolls know they’re completely in the wrong but try to justify their bad behavior by pretending the other side is guilty of their exact sins. Pure psychological projection.

  255. Trollspotter says:

    republicans hate facts Says:

A RESEARCHER this week showed that the brains of RELIGIOUS individuals don’t show up GUILT CENTER brain activity when they LIE… Interesting huh?

The MORAL folks don’t have their OWN MORAL COMPASS. Explains a lot! ;)

Very interesting and it shines a light on much of the cognitive dissonance we’ve seen from the religious right. Thanks for the tip, I’m looking forward to seeing that data.

  256. dbadass says:

    Fered garvin…
What is it with you and circle jerks?

whenever two or more trolls gather

there you will find a circle jerk.

Pay no mind to pelosi and reid fighting like cats and dogs……

The desperation is strong with this one.

  260. jimbo92107 says:

Chased out by violent racists. Michael Steele is now discovering what everybody else has known all along. The core of the Republican party is composed of this planet’s most violent bigots. Did he really think they would tolerate being led by a non-white? Fool.

  261. balzar says:

Ah Michael Steele… but a wet spot on the republican mattress

    ___________

Oh, good Lord… this is silly beyond belief. GE goes lib?

You really must come up w/ a smear that’s even close to credible if you don’t want to get laughed off the site…

  264. RandomChaos says:

    habib=silly?
    Yes

  265. sicnarfe says:

Hope this does not sound too presumptious, but speaking on behalf of fair-minded blacks on this planet, I hope Michael Steele, Kenneth Blackwell, Clarence Thomas and the tiny retinue of blacks shilling for the ever diminishing Repug Party, will have a wonderful time on their kness, sucking on the excrement exuding from their lard-ass retard of a leader, Mush Clingball.

  266. labman57 says:

Give the GOP more time. They’ll start feeding on their own young soon.
