How very arrogant! Hopefully this will come back to haunt you. I think you underestimate the power of the middle class and the power of the unions. Even people that don’t belong to a union had parents or relatives that did, so you are insulting many, many Americans. People are only trying to survive with a living wage in a struggling economy. Can any of you greedy politicians or business owners even relate to that?

WOW….I just completed the quiz and scored 351 which makes me an extreme progressive….it figures…I’m Canadian…lol.

Yes we are extremely progressive up here but then again…we have Single payer health system, subsidised education (University), no banking problems, no mortgage problems, we have GOOD UNIONS, we make on average higher saleries….so I guess being real progressive isn’t so bad after all….

But I doubt YOUR NEWS MEDIA would ever tell you that we have it a lot better living in Canada then living in the US!!!! YES we have a strong unions up here!!!! Are we competative??? YES…THATS WHY WERE PART OF THE G7 AND G20 !!!

Those progressives don’t know squat …..REALLY…CHECH OUT THE FORCLOSURE (power of sales in Canada)rate in Canada!!!

It’s already eliminated. The only people left who appear “middle class” are salary slaves, who work 80 hrs. a week, travel 25 days/month and jump as high as the boss shouts, every time, or else. They’ve got some nice cars and some McMansions, but they’re no more free than their golden retrievers are.

I agree that the media has done a lousy job of explaining EFCA to the American people. Rachel Maddow did a good job last night, but msm doesn’t.

Could it possibly be because the msm are influenced by their big business owners?
Could it be because from their ivory towers they can only see into the neighboring penthouse?

Big Business wouldn’t be big business without labor – and given its preference, BB would not treat workers fairly, from pay to benefits, were it not for unions, who established certain rights for workers.

This is why we need a national discussion on this bill, the Reich who in thinking it takes away the secret ballot, which is does not, seems to be for the speaking up for the labor ,but they are not for labor, it just seems like they are.What most of these people won`t say is America ranks 17th out of 20 with our top 20 trading partners when it comes to unionization of it`s work force, although we are number 2 in productivity, so actually we are worker smarter and better but with lower wages.Another thing they won`t talk about is that health care,supervisory and managerial salaries are what is hurting our country`s competativeness around the globe.We also rank near the bottom in in hourly pay and bene`s compared to with the same top 20 trading partners.This is all aues to keep this class warfare going.These are sad little people that are just plain GREEDY and POWER HUNGRY!

When will there be a mea cuplpa from WSJ? Not in this lifetime.

The WSJ has always been the wealthy conservative’s newspaper, but of late, it is no different from the Washington Times or the NY Post now – it is a rightwing rag, using its former, more dignified (yet totally biased) reputation to smear the left, promote anti-union (read, anti-worker) and advocate big business.

Lets see how funny it is after it passes.

Sixty is the Senate’s magic number, the tally needed to end a filibuster by invoking cloture and moving to a final vote. Senators who oppose a bill generally vote against cloture, effectively killing the bill. But Democrats and their labor allies hope to wipe that calculus off the board and persuade some opponents of the bill to vote for cloture even if they vote against the final bill. If 60 vote for cloture, only 50 are needed for final passage (Vice President Joe Biden can break a tie.)
