In recent weeks, Rush Limbaugh has become so controversial that some top GOP leaders are trying to distance themselves from the divisive radio host. But not Dick Cheney. In his first TV interview since leaving office, Cheney said he adores Limbaugh and even said he wants to see President Obama debate him:
CHENEY: Rush is a good friend. I love him. I think he does great work and has for years. He has now offered to debate President Obama on his radio show. Hell, I’d pay to see that. … I think Rush is a good man and serves a very important purpose.
Wach it:
Limbaugh was extremely close to the Bush administration. In January, President Bush invited Limbaugh to the Medal of Freedom ceremony and hosted a private birthday party for him. Last summer, Cheney sent Limbaugh a recorded message, calling him “one of the great names in broadcasting history.” In 2007, Karl Rove granted his first post-resignation interview to Limbaugh.
I would like to see Dick Cheney debate the prosecuters at the Hague. I wonder what was on the menu at Bush’s private birthday party. Cocaine and oxycontin, perhaps? You know, something to please everyone.

March 15th, 2009 at 11:33 am[hhhhhhhhhhh] Limbaugh, I am your father,[hhhhhhhhhhhhhh] ~Darth
March 15th, 2009 at 11:36 amWhy on earth would an intelligent articulate black man want to debate a monkey on a monkey show which has no rules? More importantly, if Cheney loves Rush, have they ever been to the Bahamas together, or is that a state secret?
March 15th, 2009 at 11:40 amWhat happened to the tradition of remaining silent about politics once you are out of office, particularly when your administration was so uniformly hated by your countrymen?
March 15th, 2009 at 11:43 amcheeeney cheeeney cheeeney…
jeez.
thanks a fuucking lot, king…
and, TP, enough.
March 15th, 2009 at 11:46 amCheney on Limbaugh: ‘I love him.’
– - Insert Rush anal fascination comment here.
March 15th, 2009 at 11:47 amI am starting to think Cheney might be the leader of the GOP…. Still it would be more amusing if it was that annoying little kid… Does anyone really know?
March 15th, 2009 at 11:52 am‘I love him.’ – Cheney on Limbaugh
Well if it were legal, you could marry him.
Those two bring out the worst in me. TP knows what buttons to push to get people to hate.
March 15th, 2009 at 11:54 amCheney probably hadn’t had breakfast and was hungry, so when he heard Limbaugh’s name the first thing that came to his mind was pork foods like sausage gravy or a sausage biscuit.
So yea, he loves Limbaugh for the porcine swine that he is.

March 15th, 2009 at 11:55 amHe has now offered to debate President Obama on his radio show. Hell, I’d pay to see that.
Well, you would have to pay, since Limbaugh’s radio program is only “televised” over the internets and available by paying for a subscription. Did you pay for your subscription to Rush Limbaugh’s show, Dick, or did he give you a free one for life? And will you take Rush hunting with you?
March 15th, 2009 at 11:57 amSo does someone make one of those clip-on microphones with a little charge of black powder in it. Here Dick, put this mike over next to your chest.
March 15th, 2009 at 11:58 amwonderful. they should go hunting together.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:00 pmGet a room, Dick.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:02 pmDick and Rush…2 of the worst ChickenHawks ever…….
May they burn in hell for eternity or at lest have karma kick in soon…
Oh yea, John King is a tool….also

March 15th, 2009 at 12:14 pmBirds of a feather. They share a Machiavellian mentality and an off-the-charts, borderline fascist agenda. Both are full of themselves, yet both are despised by the majority of Americans.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:22 pmGood universe almighty, jeebus effing tits.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:23 pmOnly in America are war criminals paraded around on teevee as something to respect and behold.
Absolutely sickening, and the exact reason why I NEVER tune in to cnn.
So, Cheney “loves” Limbaugh. What a surprise. Hardly noteworthy, much less newsworthy. This piece serves no purpose other than to incite readers (which it did very well), which makes us (Progressives) appear as fringie as the wingnuts. Might we keep to substantive commentary?
March 15th, 2009 at 12:30 pmSABOTAGING AMERICA
Republicans are practicing seditious DEMAGOGUERY and insurrectionary OBSTRUCTIONISM intended to destabilize our economy for purposes of political exploitation.
Republicans AREN’T making a sincere effort to STOP the bleeding THEIR incompetent leadership and failed policies created. Instead, they’re using conflicting economic theories as a smokescreen to conceal their subversive agenda, which is to cause President Obama and America to fail so they can blame Democrats for the consequences of THEIR calamitous mismanagement.
Republicans are preposterously professing that THEIR disgraceful political WHORING had nothing to do with the banking, real estate, stock market and employment catastrophes that resulted.
Republicans are trying to hamstring Democrats to prevent them from exposing the damage caused during a Republican presidency.
Republicans are offering controversial arguments they know no one can agree on to disrupt and prevent progressive change. They’d rather divide America and create political gridlock than endure the political consequences of effective Democratic governance. That’s how they gained power and that’s how they’re trying to retain it.
Republicans are not the LOYAL OPPOSITION. They are the ENEMY WITHIN whose personal priorities have eroded their moral and ethical standards to the point that treachery and betrayal are their preferred modus operandi.
It’s one thing to advocate their conservative beliefs; it’s another thing entirely to willfully sabotage America’s government because a successful Democratic presidency would not be vulnerable to the fears and hatreds that have produced and sustained the radical Republican corporatism and extremism that have poisoned and crippled America.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:36 pmA GREAT MAN?
“Michael J Fox is out there faking his condition”
“Women were making progress BEFORE feminism – those feminazis”
“I hope Barack Obama fails”
“Man made global warming is a HOAX”
Real classy, Mr. Cheney
March 15th, 2009 at 12:38 pmosage@#20, great post. Wish it had a link so I could keep it and pass around. OT. You guys have some of the best links for a nerd like me and just wanted to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. Incert duffous for nerd if proper.lol.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:54 pmFirst off, DICK, how does Rush’s c*ck taste?
March 15th, 2009 at 12:55 pmSecond, why now are you so interested in a president debating, when your man couldn’t even form a complete, coherent sentence?
Who had to have pre approved town hall audiences that nodded their heads in total agreement?
Geez, I’d pay to see Keith O. debate Bush. Or Jon Stewart.
Rush is a good friend. I love him.
Gag me. Why is Cheney being given a platform to spew his vile thoughts? Oh yeah, I forgot. It’s that darn “liberal media” again.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:55 pmKlatu, Cheney is referencing the current president. He made no mention of the former cocaine drug addict known as Bush.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:56 pmKlatu Says:
Cheney you idiot! Why would you pay to hear a debate between a formerly cocaine addicted pothead and a recovering prescription drug abuser?
Just makes no sense.
And you do? Sheesh, the quality of today’s trolls is pathetic.
March 15th, 2009 at 12:58 pmActually, now that I think of it, I’d love to see the debate, if it was on neutral ground.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:01 pmAn articulate, educated, well informed man versus an over weight, drug seeking, vile woman hater.
CHENEY: Rush is a good friend. I love him. I think he does great work and has for years.
Coming from Dick Cheney, is this really surprising?
March 15th, 2009 at 1:02 pmCNN has become Corporate America’s whore. What other explanation could you find for giving a platform to people who are now on the lunatic fringe of society. Halliburton, BP, Exxon, Chevron, the Pharmaceutical companies, etc.etc.
They all bought and paid for propaganda during the Bush administration from FOX and CNN.
FASCISM …a radical, authoritarian nationalist ideology that aims to create a single-party state with a government led by a dictator who seeks national unity and development by requiring individuals to subordinate self-interest to the [corporate] interest of the nation.
CNN ……. signed, sealed and delivered.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:06 pmWho thought two pigs without the use of opposable thumbs could engage in such a rigorous “circle-jerk”.
Fascinating.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:12 pmCheney also admitted that he had a secret crush on Lizzy Borden.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:16 pmI’d pay to see it. Oh, would I ever! It would be worth every red cent to see our President serenely wipe that self indulgent smirk off of Rash’s (sic) face.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:16 pmSo little dick cheney is the “butt boy” that hillbilly heroin addict rush limpballs refers too so much?
March 15th, 2009 at 1:30 pmKlatu, do you normally post gibberish that makes absolutely no sense?
March 15th, 2009 at 1:31 pmAre you just typing random words to see them next to your name, giving yourself some mythical self worth?

March 15th, 2009 at 1:33 pmI’m surprised Dick is showing his “love” for Rush. I mean with a record like his, I think it would be Rush who would be falling all over himself not to piss off Cheney, lest he get a face full of buck shot.
Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing I love more than Cheney and Limbaugh–save Commander Guy. In fact, I love them so much, I fantasize about having a three-way with them. It would be like looking at a picture of the Alps made entirely of body fat.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:35 pmObesity is (often) a sign of gluttony, a proud, Republican trait.
“Gort, Barrata-nicto!”
March 15th, 2009 at 1:50 pmLiving proof that the good die young and pricks like Dick are like the energizer bunny.
March 15th, 2009 at 1:57 pmAs for John King — no surprise that Cheney agreed to be interviewed by him on CNN — King has always been a non-critic of Bushies when he was a reporter.
dont be a d…, dick
March 15th, 2009 at 1:59 pmAs for Obama debating Rush — what the fcuk for?
Did Bush ever debate anyone, even as he lied daily.
Hell, Bush even needed to be wired in order to receive answers when he was in a legitimate debate in 2004.
March 15th, 2009 at 2:00 pmWhen I see the teeny, tiny earpieces that are available in the high-tech industry, I have no doubt that what we saw under Bush’s suit coat was a power pack.
You know what I’d pay to see Mr Cheney?
I’d pay to see you go to Canada, so they can arrest you for international war crimes.
Then I’d pay to see your trials at the Hague.
Then I’d pay to tune into the “cell cam” in your cell.
Every single day I’d pay to see that.
March 15th, 2009 at 2:24 pmWhat’s with the delusion that President Obama should take time out to “debate” Rush Limpbaugh? Notwithstanding the fact that the President would mop the floor with him, only someone like Cheney would pay to see that, followed by some nice puppy torturing.
March 15th, 2009 at 2:27 pmI think John King deserves an earful of reality. Is John King trapped in the same bubble cheeney is in? Come out of the republican bubble John King, the party is over.
March 15th, 2009 at 2:36 pmReminds me of the articles about the cloned sheep. Ever notice how much they look alike? And what comes out of their mouths sounds suspiciously bleaty.
March 15th, 2009 at 2:37 pmLimbaugh debate Obama? That’s pure bluff on Limbaugh’s part.
Obama has shown no hesitation to engage publicly with people who disagree with him. Limbaugh, on the other hand doesn’t bring anyone on his show who isn’t a sycophant.
I highly recommend “Rush Limbaugh is a big, fat idiot”. Aside from being funny as hell, it’s a devastating portrayal of Limbaugh as a character-deficient personality who is lost the second he comes out from behind a microphone, and Limbaugh’s more recent public tribulations (multiple divorces, drug addiction, sex-touring, etc.) sure seem to bear out Franken’s observations.
March 15th, 2009 at 2:53 pmHigh Treason on nine-nine and nine-ten made us less safe on nine-eleven…
March 15th, 2009 at 2:53 pmRoket@4 says: Why would an intelligent articulate black man want to debate a monkey on a monkey show that has no rules?
March 15th, 2009 at 3:22 pmActually, the monkey show does have a rule. The rule is, you must also be a monkey and agree with whatever the monkey says. Monkey say, monkey do. There are other monkeys that screen calls and won’t put you on if you aren’t also a monkey in lockstep with the main monkey.
Cheney, who is a total failure, loves Fats who is a total idiot. Nice. Both are serving progressive issues better than conservative ones. Alienating the entire independent voter bloc leaves the RNC nitwittery with one way to win, that is for the Democrats to lose. Not that they can’t or won’t, but if your destiny is out of your hands you are in serious trouble. And two of the best known goopers are throwing gas on the GOP funeral pyre. Thanks to both of them.
March 15th, 2009 at 3:24 pmFunny suggestion coming from a former Vice President who spent so much time in a bunker, and who ostensibly “worked under” a President who traveled with an entourage of 700, and required people who attended his events to sign loyalty oaths.
March 15th, 2009 at 3:39 pmDon’t forget 9-11 was an inside job too!
Oh don’t sweat yourself Lucy, nobody will forget that the Vice President was commandeering NORAD on that fateful day.
Kept us safe for 8 years MY LILY WHITE A$$.
March 15th, 2009 at 3:42 pmREPEAT: THE VICE PRESIDENT WAS AT THE HELM OF OUR AIR DEFENSE COMMAND THE DAY OF THE AERIAL ATTACK OF 9/11.
HECKUVA JOB, TRAITOR.
March 15th, 2009 at 3:44 pmJust great. Now I’ve got this mind-rending image of Rove humping Limbaugh’s leg stuck in my brain…
March 15th, 2009 at 3:55 pmWonder if Cheney and Rush will be doing any hunting together.
March 15th, 2009 at 4:04 pmSomebody MIB flash this visual from my brain – STAT!
March 15th, 2009 at 4:20 pmAlways knew he was gay.
March 15th, 2009 at 4:23 pmShorter Dick:
“Rush, I want to have your baby.”
March 15th, 2009 at 4:27 pmA Rush-Cheney love child. Ugh.
March 15th, 2009 at 4:33 pmMaybe that’s what W. is.
March 15th, 2009 at 4:34 pmMaybe this chickenhawk actually doesn’t dare to criticize Rush?
March 15th, 2009 at 5:08 pmIf Cheney thinks that the best debater available to make the case for extreme right wing Republican talking points is Rush, then I say the Democrats should counter with Jon Stewart to champion their positions. Entertainer vs. entertainer. My money’s on Stewart in a big way.
March 15th, 2009 at 5:14 pmHey, Oxycontin Boy! You wanna debate the C-in-C?? Run for office!! Put your money where that flowing sewer you call a mouth is!!
March 15th, 2009 at 5:15 pmArchie, I have a feeling that you would be willing to serve under Rush if he just ask.
March 15th, 2009 at 5:54 pmCHENEY: Rush is a good friend. I love him. I think he does great work and has for years. He has now offered to debate President Obama on his radio show. Hell, I’d pay to see that.
This says alot about Cheney’s lack of character. I wonder how he sleeps at night – oh that’s right he’s not human so he doesn’t need sleep. Wow – he loves a drug addicted, rascist, sexist loud mouth who hopes our President fails. No wonder our country is in a sad state of disrepair.
March 15th, 2009 at 5:56 pmhey dullard 1 – where’s blueball?
March 15th, 2009 at 6:17 pmhow’s “operation we surround them” going, Archie?
didja rout some commies t’day??
March 15th, 2009 at 6:18 pmThis is a great day. The number one “Fathead” being endorsed be the brillent pariot we know as Dick Cheney. The GOP is positioned to win the hearts and minds of all you Dittoheads out there. The GOP=Dittohead.
March 15th, 2009 at 6:23 pmCheney should STFU and disappear, before someone with authority figures out he belongs in jail and puts him there.
March 15th, 2009 at 6:48 pmBig Dickidness: Heart and Soul of Conservatism.
March 15th, 2009 at 7:21 pmHi Archie B
March 15th, 2009 at 7:30 pmShall I put a fourth finger up your ass?
Adam McKay and Will Ferrell: you should now write a “Dick” show, with Darrell Hammond as Dick, and don’t hold back on the swearing, like the You’re Welcome, America HBO special. It might not be quite as funny, but it needs to be done.
March 15th, 2009 at 7:49 pmWill Farrell was spot on as dumbya on HBO last night.
Hammond could play Cheney, for sure, but could he actually pull off the depth of evil in Cheney?
March 15th, 2009 at 7:57 pmHammond would surely portray him darkly with humor, but Cheney is really too evil for humor.
Archie B
March 15th, 2009 at 8:26 pmWanna chat?
Mmmm, I wonder what’s gonna be on the menu tonight?!
March 15th, 2009 at 8:49 pmContrary to what a lot of people in America believe, black folks don’t pay much attention to racists. We’ve been dealing with them for so long until they’re now just part of the landscape, albeit, an ugly part. Rush has his agenda, we have ours. If blacks had a dime for everytime a racist said/did something to them, we’d own millions, probably, billions. It’s all garbage anyway. Rush, Cheney, Bush, Coulter, Malkin, Krauthammer, etc., do one thing best of all, LIE! To them, life and governing is a game because they know they can withstand any bad period because they have their ill-gotten gains. They make fools out of folk like Archie who buy into their game, all the while, not realizing that none of the above-named individuals would sit down and have a beer with them. In actuality, Rush, et.al., would step on them just like they’d step on a cocroach, but they’re too dum b to realize it. See, it’s that living in an alternate reality thing.
March 15th, 2009 at 9:06 pmmajii, you hit the nail on the head. The middle class idiots who call themselves Rebuplicans. I bet they would be surprised what the upper curst of the RNC thought of them. “A bunchs of suckers”! One born every minute.
March 15th, 2009 at 9:27 pmDick should get his elephant gun and take Rush on a hunting trip.
March 16th, 2009 at 12:36 amDick doesn’t want to say anything bad about Rush lest he have to apologize. Old Republican lawyers must apologize to Dick for being shot in the face by Dick, and Dick must apologize to Rush for saying anything bad about the defactor leader of the GOP.
It’s a GOP bottom up chain of command of sorts..
March 16th, 2009 at 12:48 am.
D!ck Cheney = WAR CRIMINAL!

March 16th, 2009 at 12:52 amIn Cheney’s own words,

What a worthwhile use of your time.

March 16th, 2009 at 8:24 am“Cheney and Limbaugh sittin’in a tree–” Where are the DRONES when we really need them? Damn!!
March 16th, 2009 at 11:02 amThe day that Rush Limbaugh actually allows ANYONE with an opposing view to debate him live on his radio show…that’s the day Rush turns liberal.
Ain’t never gonna happen. Ever. Never ever.
March 16th, 2009 at 11:25 amHe only invited Obama on to his show for one reason: He knew Obama would never do it.
Obama should give him the scare of his lifetime and agree. And then give him the NEXT scare of his lifetime and SHOW UP.
