The GOP’s balance sheet for America has two sides, with liabilities on the left, and assets on the right. The problem is that on the left, there’s nothing right, while on the right, there’s nothing left.

As they say in Iraq, the GOP and these Blue Dogs still don’t know “Shiite from Shinola.”

And don’t forget that Evan Bayh has won landslides in a very, very red state and his support of Obama, half-hearted though it was, did indeed help to put our man Obama over the top in the Hoosier state.

Obama has succeeded in building the most diverse and most powerful democratic coalition since FDR. If we want to keep it, then the last thing we need is infighting or the urge to purge.

No, as a resident of Indiana I take exception to your flawed statement. He is not representing the citizens, he is working for the corporate interests that have squeezed all the money they can from this state.

Nobody thought we would elect Obama, but we did. Some think we will not get rid of Bayh. We will remember his words and deeds at election time. He was elected by the people and we can send Evan to the unemployment line if this stupidity continues.

I can’t recall the particular movie, but it’s the one where the Marx’s Brothers are liberating the country of “Freedonia”. Groucho is against some political “upstarts” so he starts a war. Every day of the week I go to work and try to figure out how to convince Vendor-1 to wait on getting paid while the businesses I work for pay Vendor-2.

republican policies have destroyed the unionized American industrial base, that created the American middle class, that IS/was the great American consumer society. That is gone, though the memory and habits still linger.

As for the businesses I work for? It’s a toss-up as to how long they will remain open without foot-traffic walking into the showroom and plunking down some cash for the stuff they sell.
