Somebody mentioned pointless wars. Did you mean the 29 recognized wars going on right now, at 1000 dead per day. Obambi wants to unite the world, well then he’ll be supporting quite a few wars.

As for funding schools. Kids will learn if they choose to learn, no amount of money can force a kid to learn. When will you people realize it our nature to destroy each other. Just look at the way you treat people that don’t support Obambi or gay marriage.

My response to any of these States that are feeling the pinch when it comes to accepting government stimulus is to work on creating job without goveernment money. Your state will come out better in the long run. More governors need to be creative and stop looking for federal handouts. Sanford is right, the gov will make demands on the state and what happens when the $$ stops and the governor is left as the scapegoat.

SANFORD: Since we don’t have any of this money that’s now being dispensed from Washington, DC; since we’re going out and printing money and we’re issuing debt to solve a problem that was created by too much debt; since that’s taking place, and since those costs will be borne by the next generation, in fact it is sort of fiscal child abuse to do what we’re doing.

SANFORD NEEDS TO BE IMPEACHED. I lived in Columbia, SC for 2 years on assignment and hated every minute of it. It was like stepping waaaaay back in time. It is child abuse to deny kids a decent education. If some of those schools that I saw were in any other place they would be torn down and a new school would be built. All those teachers are going to be laid off because of Sanford’s political posturing? What a crime.

First off, I think we can do without the “this is South Carolina we’re talking about” comments. There is no perfect state in the Union, and South Carolina is still part of our country. It’s the governor that is turning the money down here.

Second of all, am I mistaken here, or did Glenn Beck act as if he was the conductor in his own personal orchestra when Sanford dropped the “child abuse” moniker? It’s as if he had planted that seed in the conversation himself.

Offering money, denying money, whatever. Just don’t associate either with child abuse.

Gov. Sanford can’t run for another term. He’s not concerned about re-election. His argument about generational debt is total BS. He’s grandstanding, denying South Carolinians federal stimulus dollars in order to paint himself as a fiscal conservative. He’s considering a presidential run in 2010. Like a strict father spanking an attention-seeking child, Sanford has convinced some South Carolinians that he’s inflicting the pain for their own good. I call BS on that! South Carolina is a high proverty state to begin with, ranking well below most states by most measures. Sanford is another Republican who benefits from keeping the people poor, undereducated, and desperate. People of SC, it’s time to get out your pitchforks march on Columbia!

If I understand this mental midget, it is educational child abuse to want educated children. He wants them ignorant or desperate enough that the military is their only option. This way they can fight Republican wars and work for slave wages in Republican dead end jobs. If there is no educated populace they are middle class or upper middle class. Which is what they want.

That guy Sanford. Just how does anyone stand someone who is nothing but a political party? An ideology with no humanity to soften it. He would rather have a one party second rate country.
