Texas Rangers fans give Bush a rousing ovation as he throws out first pitch.

When then-President Bush delivered the first pitch at the Washington Nationals home opener last year, he was met with a resounding chorus of boos. However, today a crowd of 40,000 Texas Rangers fans cheered wildly when the stadium’s public address announcer bellowed, “[W]elcome home the 43rd president.” Bush — a former partial owner of the team — then took the mound and received a standing ovation as he threw out the first pitch. “He threw a strike!” the announcer declared. Watch it:

Perhaps this in an indication of why Bush — one the most unpopular presidents of all time — chose to spend his post-presidency life in Dallas.

This is precisely why the rest of America HATES TEXAS!
Just like the rest of the World hated Hitler but he was adored in Germany. What did that do to Germany’s reputation for decades?

    no difference.

I live in Texas..let me reassure you..it was all out support to the 43rd. I am watching the rangers game..I had to sit through 2 laborious innings of Dubyas’ commentary. I was thinking to myself…anywhere other than Texas..and I don’t think he would have made it out in one piece. But, the good news is…that this is almost all of the republicans base…held securely in one location…So when ever there is a game…libs and dems…run free!

  7. Teowens says:

Well good for him. He has to have somebody cheer for him. Just as the Republican Party needed something to cheer for after they got their behinds kicked in the last two elections. What did they decided to cheer for? Obama’s faliure of course!

  18. Jackie says:

That must of cost Daddy Bush a pretty penny because George W. has no friends only those paid to cheer. Interesting this group cheered a War Criminal President who brought the Recession to the US. While Obama has over 3 million unpaid Americans stand in the freezing cold to watch him get sworn in Office, hundred thousand around the World on this first tour cheering him. The Queen asked Michelle to keep in touch while nothing but good by to Laura. This is what drives the GOP and the Media/Press crazy. Why doesn’t anyone like or respect George W. Bush the former Liar-in-Chief. How much money will Daddy Bush have to shall out to pay for people to act like they like his son? Will George W. ever get help for his depression or the nights he sees all those he murdered?

  19. machost says:

This is further indication of why this man believes history will show he was a great president and give him his due. He chooses to surround himself with people that believe he is great and therefore justifies his existence and fantisies with those results.

As someone who does liberal talk radio in Dallas Texas…I can tell you why….this happened.

All of the local media is caught up in George W. Bush love because they fear him. A story waiting to break is that people are getting kicked out of their homes because of his “think tank” taking possession.

When you post someting negative about Bush on a local blog…
it gets deleted…….or that commenter gets bombarded with
    name calling comments.

The Dallas Morning News and D Magazine are catering to wealthy advertisers. Everyone I know hates the fact that this war criminal lives amongst us. Fear that our city will be targeted because he selected Dallas for the love he can get based on fear.

You are so right on the money! I worked at one of the publications you mentioned, in the Newsroom. Every day, on page 2 the newspaper asks the readers to send in their photos of their happy encounters with W. They’ve done this for over two months. They’ve gotten exactly 2 photos. The News is so out of touch with the City that it had to layoff over 1,000 people in the past 8 months due to falling circulation. There were those of us who spoke out daily inside the belly of the Beast. To no avail. Same thing with the FrontBurner. All they care about is the Preston/Highland Park/University Park crowd. Any time I challenge that view point I am met by either pitying stares, or irrational anger. Yet more proof that Texas is the last bastion for those who truly despise everything good America stands for.

The only positive? It’s also the place where Presidents get shot.

I didn’t vote for him in either elections and saw him for what he was, a wealthy, educated dunce, who slipped into the presidency because of the moral failures of slick Willy Clinton. Most of the voting public didn’t seem to want another Democrat in the White House so they abstained from voting and Dubya won his first term in office. Then of course we all know how he won his second term in office and if every registered voter had cast a ballot back then, Dubya would have been throwing out the first pitch at the game four years earlier. I am constantly amazed at the minions who publicly profess how great of a president he was. Perhaps they are the many who were set free from the care facilities to walk among the general population.
