Gingrich: ‘Dick Cheney is clearly right’ that Obama is making the U.S. less safe.

Last month, Vice President Cheney claimed that President Obama is “making some choices that…raise the risk to the American people of another attack,” referring to Obama’s decisions to close Guantanamo and end torture. In a Politico chat today, former House speaker Newt Gingrich said Cheney is “clearly right” that Obama is making the U.S. less safe:

gingrich23.jpgModerator: Mr. Gingrich: Do you agree with Dick Cheney’s assessment that we are less safe under the Obama administration?

NewtGingrich: Dick Cheney is clearly right in saying that between the Court decisions about terrorists and the administrtaion actions the United States is running greater risks of getting attacked than we were under President Bush.

Gen. David Petraeus, however, has said he disagrees with Cheney’s now notorious statement.

Waitaminnit — the thing that’s keeping terrorists from attacking us is that we’re torturing people at Guantanamo? Let’s just imagine a conversation between potential terrorists on the subject:

TERRORIST #1: So I figure we should be good for late summer or early fall. Have we decided whether we’re taking out a bridge, a theme park, or a nuclear power plant?

TERRORIST #2: Perhaps we should hold off. I understand the Americans are torturing their detainees at Guantanamo. If we pull off an attack, we might get sent there.

TERRORIST #1: Hey, you’re right. We certainly don’t want to wind up there. Curses! Foiled again by America’s secret torture policy! But one of these days, they’ll close Guantanamo — and when they do, we’ll be ready…

THIS IS THE BULLCRAP CHENEY AND GINGRICH EXPECT US TO BELIEVE?

I’m pretty sure those errors were in Gingrich’s original comments. Everything that man says is one giant typo.

  28. ralph the wonder locust says:

Of course Darth Cheney is right! Just like he was right when he said “the insurgency is in its last throes”.

And when he said “we’ll be greeted as liberators”. Ot “the invasion will pay for itself in oil revenues”.

Or when he said “Reagan proved deficits don’t matter”.

The man has a helluva track record, ya gotta admit.

  29. Jackie says:

Newt has another hidden Contract with America that we don’t know about. He’s being paid to spread the hate and fear. Let’s see Newt wants to pre emptive attack on North Korea, while McCain/Lieberman want to bomb Iran for Israel and Sarah who see’s Russia from her window wants to bomb Russia just because. We did invade Iraq based on lies and now we’re in Afghanstan fighting who knows the Taliban or Al Qeada. Now the wingnuts report Bin Laden is in Iran that’s why we should bomb Iran. Bin Laden has been safer then any American as he most likely has even been to DisneyWorld vacationing with his Family. Obama biggest enemy is within the United States as the GOP wants to hide the War Crimes of Torture and continue the War Profiteering. Now General Petraeus a loyal Bush soldier who even lied under oath, now is looking to save his job as Obama heard the truth from the troops on the ground because Petraeus was lying for Bush/Cheney. I hope Newt doesn’t run for office on Religous Family Values as he should look in the mirror and remember he had a mistress while attacking Bill Clinton. Ok he dumped his wife after the headlines broke and now I guess he’s found Religion.

What hasn’t been widely publicised is that while everyone was trying to figure out how to get defensive, Cheney was ordering an airstrike on United 97. Fortunately for him the passengers crashed it before Cheney got to them!

Lets take a look at the standard bearers for the modern GOP:

    Sarah ‘Barbie Moose’ Palin

Rush ’show me the little boys’ Limbaugh
Glen ‘never one to miss a good cry’ Beck
Sean ‘how many lies in one show’ Hannity
Newt ‘how many wives had I married’ Gingrich
    Eric ‘wheres the camera’ Cantor
John ‘best tan in hollywood’ Boehner
Ann ‘no really, I am a woman’ Coulter
Dick ‘are ya scared yet’ Cheney

With strong and loyal leaders such as these, why are the GOP not doing any better? A complicated question indeed.

When President Obama campaigned, he promised to mend the fences internationally [I’m sure Chancellor Merkel wasn’t looking for another shoulder massage] . .

The MAJORITY of Americans voted for him knowing his platform.

Mr. Obama is fulfilling a campaign promise, WHY is he now being questioned?

Why are these RW neocons feigning SURPRISE?

Liz makes a great point! Obama was very clear about this and the American public voted him in. Which would imply that they wanted him to mend fences and deliver accountability!

There are other ways to get what you want besides being the bully on the playground stealing other kids’ lunches!

(Building black outs refur to all electicity is shut down for repairs. Tenants are usally notifed months in advance of building blackouts. Before 9/11 notification was given one week before black out with no explaination.)

WHY WASN’T GWB NEPHEW WHO WAS ON THE BOARD OF THE COMPANY THAT HANDLED SECUTIRY FOR WTC NOT QUESTIONED IN THE INVESTIGATION OF 9/11?????

YOU SEE, THE GOP MEMBERS WHO FALL IN LINE WITH THE CARLYLE GROUP. Google the board of directors of this company and you will see how all the peaces of the puzzle come out. Don’t be surprised to find GWB father as a board member, Tony Blair as a board member…yes Tony Blair…friend of the War On Terror….what a joke our media is for not pointing information out.

Don’t forget the relationship between the Bush’s and the Bin Ladin Family. And don’t forget who the CIA used during the Russian / Afgan war….Bin Ladin. Contacts were already there for the cuLlprit. Why do you think we haven’t caught Bin Ladin???? Becuase then the American people would think the war on terror is over.

Wake up America before the next FALSE FLAG ATTACK!!!!

    <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

It doesnt concern me and this is why. It is obvious hypocrisy to tell countries YOU cant have nuclear weapons and by the way WE are going to build a whole new generation of nuclear weapons. IF we are telling other countries THEY shouldnt have them the only way it isnt morally repugnant is if we are also saying WE want to get rid of ours too. The non proliferation treaty gave all countries with nuclear capabilities the obligation to work toward getting rid of them. Talking about ridding the world and ourselves of nuclear weapons is the RIGHT THING TO DO. I have no paranoid fear that Obama or any other president will unilaterally disarm America

Are you suggesting that the President will rush headlong into a policy of disarmament while the North Koreans build themselves into a nuclear juggernaut, thus leaving us at their mercy?

Sounds kinda like where you’re going, and if so, it’s an impressive feat of black-white thinking running roughshod over reason.

Ahh, the conservative free press. I believe the “article” you refer too also mentions that Obama plans to nullify Congress and appoint himself the sole delegate to the UN. No facts, all conservative rhetoric. You’re a joke.

Coming soon the new ‘improved’ America

America has just become a member of the Global Union Of Socialist Nation States. Before Congress voted to disband itself, nullify the constitution, and placing the jurisdiction of of America’s justice system into the hands of the International Courts, they named Mr. Obama as the sole Delegate to represent interests of the United Socialist Nation State in the United Nations. Mr. Obama’s appointment is a lifetime Appointment. Mr. Obama has picked for his advisers and policy makers, George Soros, and the entire membership of the Democracy Alliance
