Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), who is trailing Club for Growth president Pat Toomey in the polls for the 2010 GOP primary, has been lurching to the right recently, most notably by announcing last month that he will vote against the Employee Free Choice Act. On the Howard Stern radio show today, Specter took to defending Rush Limbaugh:
Specter: Do I like Rush Limbaugh? … Yeah, I like him [...]
Stern: He’s a crackpot? He’s an enemy of the country.
Specter: (laughing) Uh, no, he’s not. He’s expressing his opinion.
Stern: Senator, wait a second. In all seriousness. He wants the president to do poorly? Listen, I never voted for Bush, but I always wanted to see him do well. I’m an American. I want my president to be successful. Who says ‘I don’t want my president to do well?’ That’s anti-American!
Specter: Well I haven’t heard Rush Limbaugh say that. But there’s a lot of talk which is provocative.
It’s puzzling that Specter hasn’t heard about Limbaugh’s statement that he hopes Obama fails. The issue has been covered by blogs and the front pages of national newspapers for months. It even earned Limbaugh a spot on the cover of Newsweek. Or perhaps Specter is learning from the others who have criticized Boss Limbaugh and have then apologized to him.
Oh, Specter has heard alright. he just doesn’t want to put himself in a position where he has to apologize to Rush. That would make me feel creepy as well.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:45 pmThe Specter Maneuver:
Kiss butt first, ask questions later
April 7th, 2009 at 4:46 pmOh, crap, Arlen, get a restroom stall fer X sake!
April 7th, 2009 at 4:47 pmEver the consummate lawyer, Specter has never stuck to his own word, or spoken ill of those who pay his retainer.
Sad, for a guy that old to have so little integrity.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:47 pmErm….Senator Specter….you have a little schmutz on your nose.
Yeah, right there…the brown. Yep, got it.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:50 pmDoes Rush Limbaugh have a man-sized safe too?
April 7th, 2009 at 4:51 pmOr perhaps Specter is learning from the others who have criticized Boss Limbaugh and have then apologized to him.
_____________________________________________________________
How in the word could acknowledging Rush Limbaugh’s words of “I hope Obama fails” be criticizing him? Limbaugh said this quite proudly and more than once.
Oh wait — anytime anybody agrees with or quotes verbatim a crackpot remark made by a wingnut, that’s considered an act of hostility and “hate”. Just ask Bill O’Reilly. They really get annoyed when people do that.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:52 pmArlen needs to take his fingers out of his . . . ears.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:53 pmPerhaps non-intentional but very apropos: rush is Boss Hogg ‘person-o-fied’.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:54 pmSen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), who is trailing Club for Growth president Pat Toomey in the polls for the 2010 GOP primary…
__________________________________________________________
Oh, that explains the lurch. But has it occured to Specter that he’s going to alienate a lot of moderates by kissing up to Limbaugh? Good luck on winning the general election with less than 20% of the vote, pal.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:55 pmIt’s kinda funny that criticizing Rush has become the third rail of Republican politics.
I’m sure that value system will serve them well. Or, at least it will serve the nation well.
April 7th, 2009 at 4:56 pmWhat was that one about false prophets…
April 7th, 2009 at 5:02 pmThis is Specter being Specter.
Hey, Arley, Don’t offend Rush Limbaugh, or his listeners, but show yourself as a true whore; we know you’ll do anything (bend over, lay down, kiss butt, however demeaning) for a vote.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:05 pmRaptureReady Says:
One of God’s Commandments is, “Thou Shall Not Bear False Witness”. Rush never said that he wanted the President to fail. He stated that he wanted his policies to fail.

You are a liar, Daryll.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:09 pm[i see the PMSD crowd is finally getting out of bed...]
hi mr. bumpfister.
do you need help with “the spiders”?
April 7th, 2009 at 5:10 pmI see Zooey beat me to it.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:12 pmDaryll, what was that about “bearing false witness” again?
Or is this another case of a “misheard prophecy” like that whole “President-elect Huckabee” thing?
April 7th, 2009 at 5:14 pmtell us something we DON’T know, Zooness…
April 7th, 2009 at 5:14 pmAw geez, here comes the loons. RR is already making no sense and has become a laughing stock straight away. You cannot believe in God and support the GOP – no way. Those two philosophies are worlds apart from each other. God is love, the GOP is war and pain. Not even close.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:15 pmArlen Specter: All bark and no bite.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:16 pmIt’s puzzling that Specter hasn’t heard about Limbaugh’s statement…
he didn’t say he hadn’t heard ABOUT it… he said he hadn’t HEARD it.
still doubtful, but he can claim that much…
careful parsing for sure…
April 7th, 2009 at 5:16 pmOoh, a big crazy one!
April 7th, 2009 at 5:16 pmOn Inauguration Day,
April 7th, 2009 at 5:16 pmThe growling voice of diehard conservatism, the King of Talk Radio, sang the only sour note on America’s day of euphoria when Barack Obama was sworn in as President and Dubya Bush packed off to Texas. “I hope he fails,” he said. “Somebody’s gotta say it,” he added.

April 7th, 2009 at 5:17 pmSpecter has Bush’s disease. He didn’t personally hear it so he can’t comment on it.
Specter’s fighting for his political life right now and is due to be unseated in 2010 so he’s become the GOP pimp-of-all-pimps.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:19 pmSpecter is free to agree with peoples opinions, that he seems to agree with Rushs opinion means I dont agree with his opinion, which is my opinion
April 7th, 2009 at 5:19 pmSpecter’s political career is over and he knows it.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:19 pmHow does the song go? Na na na doo doo stick your head in do do while plugging your ears with your fingers.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:19 pmHard to believe Arlen thinks losing the primary by 10% is worse than losing the general by 10%. Your career is over either way cowboy. This sleaze move to kowtow to the right certainly eliminates any sympathy I may have sort of had though.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:19 pmRupteredRectum – How’s President Phuckabee doing?
The neighbors still trashing your lawn?
How far along is the (plastic blowup) wife?
Do you have any special lighting in your ‘Flogging out the Gay’ closet?
Do you still have voices in your head telling you that they are ‘God’?
So many questions, so little time.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:23 pmYet I must remember opinions are not based on truth or fact and not let an opinion influence my emotions.
But its not Specters job to agree with a pundits opinion as the pundit works to influence others opinion. Its Specters job to represent his constituents opinions not some pundit whose opinion is formed by advertising revenue.

PEOPLE WANT OBAMANATIONS POLICIES TO FAIL,WE ALREADY KNOW HE’S FAILED,NOT HE CANT EVEN PROOVE HE WAS BORN HERE.HIS SCHOOL RECORDS ARE NOT REPORTED ALSO,BECAUSE THE APPLICATION STATES,HE WAS NOT BORN IN US.HE’S A FRAUD ALONG WITH MOST OF GOV.
___________________________________________________________
Um…we seem to have a troll here who’s not only entertaining us with his lack of literacy, he’s also quoting an old GOP talking points sheet.
But as long as he’s graced us with his presence, I’ll go ahead and ask — what, exactly, would you consider sufficient “proof” that President Obama was born in the United States? He’s already provided his birth certificate, and he has given his permission for a number of groups (from all sides of the political fence) to examine it for authenticity. This is more than any other presidential candidate in my lifetime has been asked to do.
And my second question — what in the world does this have to do with his policies failing?
Third — yes, there are some misguided souls who want Obama’s policies to fail, simply because they see this whole thing as a sporting event and they are desperate that the other side not get any opportunity to score. Unfortunately, our situation is a great deal more serious than that. Obama’s policies are all we’ve got at the moment — the Republicans are only offering more of what got us into this mess in the first place. So the smart people are wanting, hoping, and praying Obama’s policies succeed. If they don’t, we’re in trouble.
But I suppose you’d enjoy gloating over his “failed policies” from your cardboard box under a bridge.
My feeling is that you probably won’t be able to expand on your points with any follow-up detail (unless you cut and paste from a wingnut blog somewhere). But please — prove me wrong.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:31 pmOh, really?
Now, how’s he gonna get outa this one, people wonder… but of course! It’s the ol’ right-wing rhetorical ju jitsu:
Didn’t stick the landing, though.
Sad, Daryll. Really sad. Unless you want to claim that “hoping” the President fails is not the same thing as “wanting” the President to fail…
April 7th, 2009 at 5:32 pmI think Rush’s opinion is irrelevant as its one that serves mammon [materialism and money]
As I recall it was George W. Bush that, publicly on CNN, he forewent his ‘free market policies’ to save the free market via a socialist policy. Rush said ‘he’, not ‘policies’ thus he wants ‘him’ Obama to fail in my POV.
Rush is not about truth he is about ratings..about money and his personal wealth, about being a country club republican.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:32 pmArlen Specter is a quivering, festering maggot-riddled sack of liquid excrement, and RabidRupture has a straw.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:34 pmIn other words, Daryll, Bush went socialist, burdened you with debt, to save the free market which, hello, makes the free market a welfare king
April 7th, 2009 at 5:34 pmRR Said: No, a little over two months (Forgive because I learned about the actual timing from her OBGYN; I am excited); I do not support homosexuality because it is a perverted sin; Yes, Jesus does talk to me through dreams. Jesus, by your own statement, loves gays, yet you call them perverts?
Stop judging Daryll.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:37 pmOh, my! In my haste to knock Daryll’s hanging curveball into center-left, I missed this little nugget of (to mix sports metaphors) mobile goal posts:
My question to you is did Rush ever say that he wanted the President to fail because of his race, creed or political affiliation?
As if any of those conditions had been attached to the initial claim that Rush said he Hopes Obama fails. A claim that Daryll flat-out denied, unconditionally. Daryll simply said “Rush never said that”.
Do you still maintain that Rush never said he hopes Obama fails? Be careful because God knows your heart.

April 7th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
It’s not up to me OR YOU to interpret his meaning when he makes a statement as clear as “I hope he fails.” I saw the video, I heard him say it, I read the transcript. That’s exactly what he said — and meant. No qualification necessary about race, creed, or political affiliation needed — that’s just a figment of your imagination.
Be careful, Daryll. Your god knows what’s in your heart and mind. You are going to burn…

April 7th, 2009 at 5:43 pmDaryll Said: I disagree. If the Banks were not bailed out, our economy would have failed. That is called recovery, not socialism.
Thats not capitalism when the weak survive. Capitalism is competition between businesses not using the government, the taxpayer as a means to survive. Too big too fail is cornyism as there are many banks that could take these banks place and do a better job.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:46 pm*cronyism

After this comment, he was attacked by the liberal media. -RR
The media has never been liberal, the media is a business, just as banks are. They are in it for profit, not bailouts.
BTW, what media outlet got a bailout to stay in business?
April 7th, 2009 at 5:48 pmI think “cornyism” is even more fitting – wish I’d mistyped that one myself – you’d better copyright it before Colbert gets ahold of it.

April 7th, 2009 at 5:51 pmIt’s amazing that Daryll speaks so judgmentally about all the rest of us who he says are going to hell, yet it all seems to be an elaborate performance to convince himself and God that he’s actually a good Christian. And it doesn’t seem to be working.
Daryll, you’ll find a great deal more comfort in accepting your own failures and asking God’s forgiveness than you will in condemning and judging others.

April 7th, 2009 at 5:54 pmJesus hates poor people.

April 7th, 2009 at 5:54 pmXis – only if they’re Democrats, because that’s who Jesus hates besides poor people.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:55 pmDon’t worry about us, Daryll. We have all seen you reveal hateful traits that would, if he existed, result in Jesus hating you. You are so utterly against the message of the Gospels that God, if he exists, abhors you. You’re a vile little sh!tstain and, if Hell is real, you have a confirmed reservation in the deepest pit.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:56 pmP.S. Darryl your bible is a misprint.

April 7th, 2009 at 5:56 pmDaryll Said: You sound like these poor losers, that are unskilled workers, that decide to blame others for becoming extremely successful because they had no drive to exceed in life.

Seems Daryll has lost his spirituality.
April 7th, 2009 at 5:59 pmHow far along is the little pachyderm now?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:00 pmDid the dollars you make Daryll impregnant your wife with child [life]?

April 7th, 2009 at 6:02 pmCan you, Daryll, take your money, or gold, with you when you die?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:02 pmNo! idiota.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:03 pmIt is. But these unskilled workers are greedy. They want to secretly create unions and force companies to pay them 23 plus dollars an hour, realizing that their request will eventually harm the company. No!
And a CEO making 400 million a year and causing you to pay more for fuel isnt greedy?
Did the unions cause the financial problems of today? No.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:04 pmHooooo boy, 23 bucks an hour! That’s 46k a year. Biiiiiig greed, yessir.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:04 pmI listened to this interview, and Specter came off very pathetic in my eyes. I like Howard Stern, but respectable politicians should have nothing to do with his show. Specter was literally pandering for campaign money from listeners and from Stern personally. Specter admitted we were lied to about Iraq WMD evidence, but then blames that purely on “the analysts”, not anyone in the Bush administration. He sat and kissed Limbaugh’s butt even though Limbaugh blasts him constantly and considers him a RINO. He sat and defended the Republican Party even though they are actively working to oust him by supporting his primary competition (Club for Growth’s anti-tax nut Pat Toomey). Specter is one of the few moderates left in the Republican Party. If he had any cohones, he’d switch parties before the Republicans can oust him.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:04 pmYou are still wrong and there is nothing typically liberal about telling you so.
The only thing that is typical in my telling you so is that this site is the ONLY place you can go where someone will actually tell you the truth about how stupid you are.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:05 pmThe thing is, Daryll, that you have told so many monumental lies that we can only assume you are a vile person, despised by all. I am disgusted that you consume the resources that could support a warren of rats, or a few hundred ponds of cyanobacteria.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:05 pmSo, Daryll, everyone makes mistakes.
Just admit you were wrong on what Rush said.
Not how he tried to qualify later.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:06 pmBut these unskilled workers are greedy -Daryll
You think 23 dollars an hour will make one wealthy?
Do you realize since the inception of the FED that the value of your dollars has dropped 96%?
23 dollars sounds like alot to you but it really isnt much.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:06 pmWhich one? The irrational one or the crazy one?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:06 pmSays who? You? You have no say in their salary. Collectively, they do.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:08 pmThe unskilled workers…I hear that alot.
Jesus was an unskilled workers. Neggar bar neggar they called him. Carpenter son of carpenter is what it means.
Jesus was poor Daryll and basically unskilled, by your definition, yet you use his words while cheerleading usury and greed.

nice. and. simple.
all. that. daryll. can. understand.
The Lord’s disappointed in ya Daryll. Ya’ done busheled over the light of your own intellect – and ya did it voluntarily.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:10 pmThe Apostles were a Union.

April 7th, 2009 at 6:10 pmYour comment proves that you are a false Christian.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:10 pmBack in my hometown in Indiana, $46,000 will get you a lot. Most of these factories are in areas with a low cost of living. -Daryll
Alot of what Daryll? Perhaps college for his kids so they could not be unskilled laborers?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:11 pmCarpentry is a trade.
So why was Jesus poor?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:12 pmDaryll, you seem to have wandered off the true path of the topic of this thread.
Let’s get back to it.
Above, you said, quite plainly,
Rush never said that he wanted the President to fail.
Almost immediately, Zooey Lepidoptera offered you a link to Rush’s own site, a page that was headlined, “I Hope Obama Fails”.
Yet, rather than admit that you were mistaken, in the face of inarguable evidence, you tried to claim, first, that Zooey had “misconstrued” what Rush had said. Then later you tried to insinuate that it didn’t count because Rush didn’t say he hoped Obama fails because on reasons a, b or c.
Yet the fact of the matter is, you said “Rush never said that he wanted the President to fail” and Rush actually said almost exactly that.
Care to acknowledge at least this little bit of reality?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:12 pmDaryll Perdón, pero te equivocas, como de costumbre, Y lo que en el infierno Qué quieres decir con Entiendo nuestra sociedad así?
Una vez más, idiota.
Sorry to the rest of the posters, but I wanted to drive my point home.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:14 pmAfter reading these comments, I find it so amusing that Daryll has no clue as to how assholierthanthou and judgmental he is. Daryll places himself above the TP commenters, apparently as an example of what we should strive for.
But all of the TPers — believers and non-believers — are better Christians than Daryll could ever dream of being.
All of us.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:17 pm46K is not much Daryll and I would hardly call it greed when people are trying to keep a roof over their family and provide for their family as inflation debases the dollar.

The liberals dont intend to influence society negatively. Look around Daryll, these job losses werent cause by liberals, it was caused by greed. Look at these derivative gambles at the heart of the banking credit mess. Greed.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:24 pmCongratulation, tombaker.
You made Daryll play the “BLASPHEMY!!” card. :-D
April 7th, 2009 at 6:25 pmDaryll, you wouldn’t know blasphemy if it bit you on the nutsack.
That much is clear. You’re driven by you fears and prejudices and you contort the tenets of Christianity to justify them, and then you condemn everyone who doesn’t conform to your bizarre parallel reality.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:25 pmOkay Daryll, Jesus was about gold..where is all his wealth?
Jesus said a rich man will not get into heaven…because yo know, he was rich and greedy, right?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:26 pmNope.
A few months ago he claimed that the Bible said “an idle mind is the devil’s playground”. I asked for a citation — book, chapter verse… He disappeared. Never acknowledged his foolishness or that I had even addressed him.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:26 pmBravo Bravo…you can lie in 2 languages!!!
April 7th, 2009 at 6:27 pmGOD created the universe from nothing, and charged humanity nothing for it, you know, cause he was about wealth, cause you know, wealth, this human creation, created life.

Oral Roberts has corrupted christianity.

And it was crazy for you to go on and on like Levin and Hannity and Hewitt. It’s like you’re all brainwashed. And my last comment is, no matter what Obama does, you will still criticize him because I believe you are brainwashed. You’re just — and I hate to say it — but I think you’re a brainwashed Nazi. Anyone who can believe in torture has got to be — there has got to be something wrong with them.

Its pretty clear Daryll, you have become a wolf.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:33 pmDaryll may have a point:
General Motors Corp (GM.N) Chief Executive Rick Wagoner’s salary and other compensation rose 64 percent in 2007 to about $15.7 million, mainly due to option grants, according to a proxy filed on Friday.
So that’s the wages… how about the pension?
In nearly 32 years with the company, Wagoner accrued pension benefits that the company valued at $22.1 million at the end of last year. The actual amount Wagoner will receive could vary because it will be paid in installments over the rest of his life.
It’s good to see you’re outraged about such greed, Daryll!

And what is your calling? Hot Tubs? Lear Jets? Diamond Mines? Hookers? Blow? Becoming Ted Haggard?
April 7th, 2009 at 6:35 pmDaryll has revised Christianity. Jesus was a stockbroker banker non unionist greedster who invited usury into the temple and how said only the rich can get into heaven!
Its okay for Daryll to be wealthy thru usury but never can the tradesman, such as Jesus, neggar bar neggar, can be wealthy
Thanks Daryll, I alway knew you were a fraud, thanks for proving it.

April 7th, 2009 at 6:39 pmLo sentimos, pero Oral Roberts no es la mejor universidad en el país, en mi humilde opinión.
April 7th, 2009 at 6:39 pmDaryll doesnt believe in GOD, or Karma. He believes in materialism

Daryll hates the military as well.
At least the unskilled do actual work instead of letting a computer make bets for them.
BTW Daryll, how much actual work, I mean burning calories, does a CEO do versus a ditch digger?

No wonder you are a failed prophet
April 7th, 2009 at 6:59 pmYou would be considered an innovator. Laborers put together your innovation/end product. Thinkless job. -Daryll
Funny, wall street is considered innovative yet requires bailouts to exist…
And isnt a laborer a creation of GOD?
April 7th, 2009 at 7:01 pmYou would be considered an innovator. Laborers put together your innovation/end product. Thinkless job.
Try telling that to an aerospace worker, who has no more educational back ground than an auto worker, yet has to fabricate parts to blueprints that occasionally have incorrect data, and if he doesn’t spot the design problem, could end up wasting thousands of dollars of company money, because a designer made a simple mistake.
You must know little or nothing about how things are actually produced in this country.

April 7th, 2009 at 7:02 pmIsn’t sex a spiritual experience? I’d like feeding sexually hungry women.
Are there any good prayers to get women to give up their physical bodies as well as their money and souls?
April 7th, 2009 at 7:04 pmYou know what Daryll, I went to a school that taught how to get an airframe and powerplant license. It taught how to take the test. It didnt actually teach you how to repair large jet aircraft.
IE the learning institution didnt teach the actual job.
April 7th, 2009 at 7:05 pmYou mean rote memory, read a book take a test. Thats not wisdom
And the last time I had to take a fabrication qualification test, it wasn’t an open book test, like they use in the halls of higher learning.
April 7th, 2009 at 7:06 pmAnd the last time I had to take a fabrication qualification test, it wasn’t an open book test, like they use in the halls of higher learning. -Barfly
True. I worked with many people that could take and pass a written test but when it came to actual troubleshooting, using logic, they failed miserably.
April 7th, 2009 at 7:08 pmI have never taken an open-book test. 128 credit hours of pure hard work.
They are now the norm, so your education must be horribly dated.
April 7th, 2009 at 7:09 pmI have never taken an open-book test. 128 credit hours of pure hard work. -Daryll
Again, thats memory, not actually building something with your hands or inventing something.
And what makes you think the little amount of energy you exerted entitles you to higher wages when you burn few calories?
April 7th, 2009 at 7:11 pmCongrats to Oral Roberts for turning Xianity into a rote trained elitist entitlement program

“realizing their request will eventually harm the company”???
This SILLY beyond words.
Real wages have pretty much stayed FLAT in the country for the last 30 years. Adjusted fro infaltion, $23/hr is NOTHING anymore. Meanwhile, CEO pay has gone from 25 times the average worker’s pay to a peak of over 500 TIMES in the early years of this decade.
You’re full of SH!T.
BTW, this is the original fruitcake Darryl. The language is all wrong. This is someone else.

April 8th, 2009 at 1:32 amI am continually amazed by the crap that Rectum squeezes out. I worked in a factory for 7+ years with people who had college degrees. They chose factory work over their specialties because they couldn’t make decent money doing what they were trained to do. I worked for government for 28 years with people who were college educated and working in my job for the same reason. Yet, our supervisors, most of whom had no college, were making more money than the college trained employees. AND, they were doing a lousy job of managing. Rectum has said that he is anti-union. Why doesn’t he think workers should be able to set the value of their labor? I’m curious to know just what he was taught at Oral Roberts. I didn’t thing that school taught so much as they indoctrinated. Kind of like the lawyers(?) that Liberty University turn out, who then go to work for the Justice Department and (possibly) deliberately screw up the prosecution of Ted Stevens. What does Rectum do for a living? He claims that he’s trained in science. From Oral Roberts that would be Intelligent Design Science, unrecognized and ignored by true scientists. What kind of job can a Roberts-trained scientist get, anyway? Probably a Southern high school science teacher, making about $30,000 a year. Most definitely he wouldn’t belong to a teacher’s union. That’s so unChristian, you know. This guy’s a phony.

April 8th, 2009 at 3:57 amThis freak ‘likes’ Rush Limbaugh? Then he’s a sick f–k. But then, we’ve always known this. How do we know? Because he’s the cretinous wanker that promoted the ‘Magic Bullet Theory’ that is probably the most despicable miscarriage of Justice in the history of our country. Arlen Specter should have been shot for treason 45 years ago.
April 8th, 2009 at 6:36 amRapture Ready — Continue the good work, my child. You are doing wonderfully. The data you present and the manner you present it is a marvelous example of linguistic and logical gymnastics. You keep your responses short, and deflect questions and criticisms by ignoring them completely, distorting them, or (best of all, my little one) rephrasing the whole matter into a new topic. Keep them hopping, from one point to the next, refute, obscure, and throw out plenty of that Christianity stuff to keep their emotions charged up (because you know that many are non-christians and the christains among them will be incensed at your misuse and misquoting of their bible).
Ah, your masterful arts are becoming honed, and your skills are earning you top bonus dollars… and I KNOW — YOU DO LOVE YOUR DOLLARS.
Don’t you worry about that “camel and the eye of a needle” thing — its all crap.
YOU know, better than anyone, that those things mean ONLY what YOU DECIDE they mean, and I will be there, every step of the way, to help you to understand those meanings and to interpret for you those parts that you do not understand.
I am in your corner, I am with you always, and it is I, and only I, who am your one saviour and guiding light — the purest and brightest light of them all..
Love, Lucifer.
April 8th, 2009 at 8:55 amIf Toomey beats Specter in the Pennsylvania primary in 2010, then Pennsylvania will elect another Democrat in the general election of 2010. PA will not elect another “Santorum” type to the Senate.
OT – I’ve been wondering if Gov Ed Rendell will give the Senate race a try. Could be interesting.
April 8th, 2009 at 9:09 amSpecter, the banana slug with chameleon abilities, tacks to the right again. No, he is not moderate, he is opportunist. I have more respect for a buffoon like Santorum, at least you know where he stands. It is a point of shame for me that Arlen is my senator. I intend to work very hard to change that. I pray that the economy works against him, and his hypocrisy is understood.
April 8th, 2009 at 9:20 amCats r Flyfishin said: “…wondering if …Rendell will give the senate race a try.”
Not likely. My sources say he sees himself as a replacement on Obamas cabinet as people move on. But only after his term ends. He will not give the GOP an in to seize control of the state gov’t like Napolitano did in Arizona.
April 8th, 2009 at 9:26 amArlen Specter? Maybe his support for Rush was somehow vectored in to the path of the magic bullet. What must go on in this man’s mind?
April 8th, 2009 at 10:08 amI think Arlen Specter is on to something here. After Obama appointed a cabal of Goldman Sachs cronies and establishment Wall Street crooks to run our economy I’m looking for some truth also. I don’t know who it is or where the truth will eventually come from; maybe it’s not Limbaugh but it’s got to be somebody. One thing I see is that Obama has the establishment corruption disease just like every crooked politician before him. We’ll see if he’s as bad as the bum Bush. Right now he looks like he’ll be right there with him.
April 8th, 2009 at 5:03 pmI like the Jack in the Box clown, but I wouldn’t go to him for political advice.
Limbaugh exemplifies the irrational, self-righteous, hate-mongering mindset of the far-right faction of the GOP. They have nothing substantive to say…..about ANYTHING and are rapidly becoming irrelevant to the serious, thoughtful discussions being conducted by most Americans.
Limbaugh and his ilk are as significant as a rusty hinge on a frequently-used door. They make a lot of noise and occasionally inhibit positive progress, but are generally just regarded as little more than an inconvenient annoyance.
