Republican Members Of Congress Embrace Radical Anti-Obama Tea Party Protests

impeach1.gifNext week on Tax Day (April 15), right wing activists will converge in cities across the country to protest President Obama. The primary figures organizing the protests, the lobbyist-run think tank Freedom Works and bloggers such as Michelle Malkin, say they are reacting to taxes that are “too high.” However, previous tea party protests have attracted protesters who called for impeaching Obama while slurring the President’s name as “Obama Bin Lyin.”

Congressional Republicans have enthusiastically embraced the movement, with Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) sponsoring a bill to honor the protests. So far, at least 11 Republican lawmakers and governors have signed on to speak at local events:

– Former Rep. David Davis (R-TN) and representatives from Sen. Bob Corker’s (R-TN) office will be speaking at the Kingsport protest.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT) will be speaking at the Salt Lake City protest.

Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-KS) and a representative from Rep. Sam Graves’ (R-MO) office will be speaking at the Overland Park protest.

Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) will be speaking at the Shreveport protest.

Rep. Ander Crenshaw (R-FL) will be speaking at the Jacksonville protest.

Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH) will be speaking at the Wauseon protest.

Rep. John Shadegg (R-AZ) and former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) will be speaking at the Phoenix protest.

Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC) will be speaking at the Charlotte protest.

Rep. Bill Posey (R-FL) will be speaking at the Brevard protest.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) will be speaking at the Longview protest.

Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) will be speaking at the protest in Columbia.

In addition, Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-MT), Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA), and Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL) have been urging their constituents to attend tea party protests.

The events are also being embraced by a smorgasbord of far-right causes. Gun rights militias, secessionists, and neo-Nazi groups are currently working to contribute to the organizing effort.

I’m going to have to make sure to attend one myself.

This kind of comedy gold has to be experienced live!

I’ll just have to make sure to bring my misspelled sign, making a fool of myself, so I’ll fit in.

Without actually having to pass legislation or lord over federal agencies, the GOP is left with its favorite vice: acting stupid.

Like these folks have suffient culture to appreciate tea…

  6. fire _ant_chavis says:

This is ridiculous – I need to find the location for the “tea party” in Charlotte so I can watch this foolish spectacle and heckle these fools! My sign will say YES WE DID! AND YES WE STILL CAN! BARACK OBAMA WON!

  7. Ape-Man says:

And their names shall be known.

  8. muzz says:

lokidog – just watch yourself – these people are completely bat$hit crazy

  9. 5th Estate says:

The orginal Boston Tea Party that supposedly inspired our modern-day ‘tea-baggers’ was in fact a protest against the REDUCTION OF IMPORT TAXES ON TEA.

It had nothing to do with socialism or income taxes or protesting a president (none of those existed at the time of course).

Left wing of America: Trying to achieve peace.

Right wing of America: Conspiring to gun down Americans, take over the White House, kill President Obama, so they can turn the White House/government back to the uber wealthy/Bush Cabal.

Are these the ones Beck warned us about?

I sure wish the Founding Fathers had added “except for sore losers and right-wing freakazoids” to the Freedom to Assemble part of the Bill of Rights….

  13. gummble-bee-itch says:

That list of tea-bagging Congressmen is interesting — other than one from Ohio, they all have something geographical in common.

  14. 5th Estate says:

dbadass…hey there, I have the answer for you ( tree on a beach).
DO you still care to know it?

ANd wwelcome ‘back’ by the way LD

  15. Bob says:

Are they (some of they, at least) seriously calling for Obama’s impeachment or are they making a statement of how ‘ridiculous’ bush’s impeachment would’ve been?

It must be the former because I don’t think they’re capable of the latter.

  16. pete says:

Crazy Shelly(Bachmann R-Mn), who’s conspicuously absent from the list, will be handing out Chick Tracts, rifles, and grenades to mental patients.

  17. Zooey Lepidoptera says:

I hope there will be counter-protesters attending the various tea-bagger gatherings.

  18. MrBrown says:

Sue Myrick is still in politics??? I’m in my 30’s, and I remember her running for mayor in Charlotte when I was in like the 2nd grade!

That’s another problem with our government, the same people (democrat/liberal or republican/conservative) are in this for too long, and the same old ideas keep getting recyled…

  19. 5th Estate says:

Hopefully the ‘original’ teabaggers will show up too:
Larry Craig, Mark Foley and Ted Haggard.

  20. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

The events are also being embraced by a smorgasbord of far-right causes. Gun rights militias, secessionists, and neo-Nazi groups are currently working to contribute to the organizing effort.

And this is what scares the begeezes out of me. With Bachman, Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck et al calling for armed insurrection, we are going to see a lot of violence from these people and it won’t be against conservatives. I fear we may just end up in another civil war in this country.

  21. pastcaring ceratopogonidae says:

I would recommend that everyone take a camera to one of these low-brow events for posterity’s sake.

These people are buffoons…crazed buffoons…but buffons nonetheless.

No doubt our trolls will make an appearance.

  22. Zooey Lepidoptera says:

I’ll bet anyone $1 that NONE of the people attending the tea-bagger parties are at risk for paying higher taxes.

  23. CParis says:

Why weren’t these idiots protesting “high taxes” this time last year? The tax rate they’re paying today is the same as the Bu$hco tax giveway rates they paid last year.

I hope the neo-Nazis, Klan members, militia, skinheads show up at the rallies in full costume. Will make wonderful campaign ads for 2010 – for the Democrats!

  24. Doodlebug Shayne says:

They are holding these protests because Obama’s taxes are too high? I guess he should have repealed those Bush tax breaks immediately instead of letting them phase out in two years. Give them something to complain about.

  25. Bilbo Hussein Baggins says:

    Zooey Lepidoptera Says:

Of course they are: one VOLK, one REICH, one FUEHRER. Die Republikan Partei, sieg heil!

  27. MrWombat says:

The Stormfront link could be the best part. Now we have proof the GOP is full of Nazis. Sure hope Glen Beck and Hannity make an appearance.

  28. Doodlebug Shayne says:

Anybody receiving a paycheck got a tax break reflected on their paycheck starting 3 weeks ago. Oh I guess all the protesters make over $250k a year.

  29. 5th Estate says:

  34. Marie says:

Some people are just too stupid to fix.

Where were these people when Bush was president and blew a budget surplus, spent a trillion dollars (not to mention lieves) on an illegal and unwarranted war, increased the deficit, and gave the richest in the nation a tax cut on the backs of the average Americans.

Oh, wait, they were protesting gays and keeping dead people alive with machines.

  35. Carla says:

Sanford better watch out, the people of his state aren’t to happy with him right now. The tent cities are starting to crop up. Wouldn’t you know that big mouth J.D. Hayworth will be there. That guy is a has been, trying to run again. Where were these people in the last eight years ?

  50. Carol A says:

Republican politicians disgust me. They claim to be the party of Christian family values yet they have no shame, no guilt, and no conscience. Obama Bin Lyin’? Can’t you just hear the conservative outrage if President G.W. Bush’s name had been similarly degraded? Democrats were labeled unAmerican and unpatriotic for opposing an unjustified war of choice and its subsequent surge, but ginning up violence by calling for “armed and dangerous” revolt, stockpiling weapons and ammo, and accusations of socialism, fascism, and worse is just fine with the Republicans? The GOP was fine with Bush’s war-mongering lies, economy-destoying, unconstitutional executive powergrab, corruption of the justice department, illegal wiretapping, and torture and rendition, but now they call for Obama to be impreached after less than 80 days in office? What a joke! Conservatives can’t handle loss of power. They have no leadership or cohesive message, so they rely on hatemongering and slander. What a bunch of losers!

  51. jjm says:

Revolution orchestrated from above: recalls Europe in the 1930’s doesn’t it? Fascists and Nazis claimed that they were starting a “revolution” against the twin evils of democracy and communism. Nice model.

  52. minmotstand says:

THANK YOU THINKPROGRESS FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION!

I will be attending in Kansas City to counter-protest these anti-Obama Republicans!

It’s going to be like a hatemongering Sarah Palin rally, as one commentator above me noted, “This comedy gold must be experienced live!”

  53. amish_edison says:

Unfortunately it seems all too predictable that one of these fear-fueled right-wing protests is bound to erupt in violence. If you thought the slander, racism, and treasonous rhetoric was bad at the McCain-Palin rallies during the presidential campaign, just wait until you hear what these protesters and speakers predictably say during these protests. Disaster politics at its very worst.

  54. daveincolorado says:

  55. FriedmanIsDead says:

I will be there in attendance with my camera in hand. I gotta see this. I think I will make a giant rainbow costume in hopes of the attendence of the Fred Phelps crowd, after all, they are only an hour from the protest.

What’ interesting is that on the information website they say its non-partisan, yet the only people speaking there are Republicans and the local conservative station that picks up Rush Limbaugh is apparently broadcasting there as well…

  56. Briseadh na Firefly says:

The events are also being embraced by a smorgasbord of far-right causes. Gun rights militias, secessionists, and neo-Nazi groups are currently working to contribute to the organizing effort.

The stage is set. The actors are awaiting the rise of the curtain: unwitting players in a drama/tragedy/irony which will play across this nation.

Do we not remember Bush had a regular Army regiment stationed here in the U.S. to put down armed insurrections? Do we not remember Bush was developing plasma and microwave weapons for use against American civilians?

And now, here the Reich Wing NeoConservatives are being whipped into a frenzy; private arms sales are skyrocketing, and their talking heads are calling for bloodshed.

I do believe those behind the scenes are hoping President Obama will have to use military force on U.S. soil, and that the proletariat they recruit will become martyrs to their cause.

Electing Obama has upset the Oligarchy, the behind-the-scenes rulers of the American Empire. They feel safe behind their gated communities and anonymity. But once the monster of armed insurrection is let loose, they will not be able to direct nor control it.

  57. CageyCretin says:

Really. WTF are these politcians thinking? REALLY? What about this being one of those “kinda bad ideas” is not ringing bells in their heads? I mean, even JUST politically? WTF?

Didn’t president Obama CUT taxes in his stimulus package for most Americans? Unless they make over 250k which I highly doubt? If this is their primary reason, than their tea party doesn’t make sense.

Are they crazy? What are these tea parties trying to accomplish? I can’t believe fox news anchors are going to be there. Hopefully it will get out in the media and the government will stay out of this because like I said it is scary

I don’t think the Republican Party is going to be happy UNTIL they incite some kind of riot. For 8 lousy years George Bush and Dick Cheney divided this country for personal political reasons, Democrats questioned them, no riots. As far as bankrupting the country, George Bush has pretty much done that.

What the hell is wrong with these insane people? Do Republicans NOT KNOW how to govern in a two party system?

  82. tarazan says:

Now Republicans are talking about attending ‘Tea Party’.
    Wow !!!

While they were in office it was all about ‘coffee party’,and they did not do a damn thing to the average American.

Before Republicans were forced out of leadership, they left the country in a big mess, from huge debt to wars, to big rise in unemployment scale.
They left nothing but apathy to behind them.

Now they are trying to regroup by inviting radical groups to get any kind of momentum.

I say good luck; with such a bad past record,I don’t see how can this thing called Tea Party takes off ground.

I have no doubt that scaring people is the only tool left to Republicans to use.

Are the retards that are attending this event forgetting the fact that they will be paying taxes just to simply buy tea bags, and then drive with them to said location using gas and getting taxed, then get taxed again on the way home in the same manner?

Now I dont care who you are, but that’s funny.

But then, the stereotypical Leftist will respond with lies about his opponents. You are contributing to the stereotype, and thus discrediting yourself.

While there are some people who may want to associate themselves with the Tea Parties, who also would like to see Obama impeached, they are not the organizers of the event, and their views will not be represented in the speeches at most of these events. Further, anyone who brings such signage will be asked, politely, to refrain from displaying it.

Those commenting here with insults and calumny toward Conservatives are only contributing to the reasons Conservatives are feeling disenfranchised, and solidifying our resolve to move ahead with these protests. To borrow a phrase, you have awakened a sleeping giant.

    Your leader is Mitch McConnell?
Did you vote for him, Daryll?
He wasn’t even running for President.
Did you write in his name?
    I’ll bet you didn’t.
There are two possibilities, as I see it:
    1) you voted for John McCain.
    2)you stayed home.

if it’s 1) and you now refuse to acknowledge John McCain as your leader, then your leader is someone not determined by voting.
If 2) you forfeited your right to determine who your leader is. You also forfeited your right to complain.

But you don’t even pledge allegiance to theperson you voted for–you hail as your leader someone who was chosen by the party leadership.
    How Leninist of you.

RR, a mark of being an adult is that whenyou get into a contest, you abide by the results no matter what.

What’s your justification? ‘I love America as long as I get my way?” That the President must be respected except when I don’t like him? That the President is my Commander In Chief but I can spit on him if he’s a Democrat?

You can call your President names, Daryll. You can follow our example and speak loudly about how wrong his policies are. You can try to impeach him, and you can try to defeat him in 2012.

But he’s your President. And if you don’t acknowledge that, you arenot an american. If you advocate his overthrow by other than those means, you’re a traitor.

And of course suddenly the Islamic terrorists aren’t important–and neither are the troops. 7 years of bleating about ‘giving aid and comfort to the enemy by criticizing the commander in chief?’ Not important any more. All those terrorists you assuredus were chuckling at the divisions in America? Who cares? We’re at war? Big deal! What’s more important is Our Money!

The only excuse for your treasonous betrayal of our nation and your collaboration with the enemies of this country, Mr. Secret Muslim–I outed you a long time ago when you called Jesus a ‘prophet=, which is what Islam believes–is that you’re too infantile to be considered an adult.

The tea parties are insubstantial, barely able to conceal their own hypocrisy and racism, but it’s all they have. They are now a sideshow, and that’s the very thing they’ve tried to convince people of about the left forever.

However, they still believe their ideology isn’t dying out, and progressive blogs and news sites are the only place they can scream like an ignored child.

you like that psychology, Reality Check? hmmmm?

I’m sorry… I truly am… but your assessment is utterly inflated. Your party is not a sleeping giant, it is a dead dog. What you fail to understand is that it’s been dead a very, very long time. It’s just that you’ve now awoken to that fact whilst the rest of us (as in the ENTIRE WORLD) has known this and been biding our time until the stench of your rotted corpse finally got to the point that even the NEO-CONS couldn’t avert they nostrils anymore.

I find it interesting that you and your party has taken ahold of these ridiculous tea-party’s as a means of pointing out to the rest of the world that you’re disenfranchised by blaming us for it. You did it to yourselves because your ideas of the way to run the world, in-a-word, SUCKS.

The old, ALL-FOR-ME-AND-NONE-FOR-YOU, stance just isn’t going to work anymore. When are you guys gonna wake up to that fact? By being the party of WE, THE CORPORATION, of wanting all power, privilege, and benefit all to YOURSELVES, of running this nation into the ground by endorsing an immoral, unethical, and philosophically reprehensible stance of, ‘IF YOU LET GO YOUR SCRUPLES, YOU TOO CAN BE RICH!’, has rendered you, in this day and age, LESS THAN USELESS.

It’s not our fault that you feel the way you do. And, altho change is a difficult process, CHANGE your party must if you want to garner a shred of respectability in today’s world.

I’m going to have a tea party for Obama if he doesn’t do something about creating a job for me.

So because you aren’t able to compete, you want a job created just for you? Sounds like socialism to me—and unbecomingly whiney, too

I’m out looking for a job and there are 10 illegal workers in front of me willing to work for a half of what I need to pay rent and taxes which they won’t pay.

Well if they are earning half of what you need to pay rent and taxes, they can only afford half the rent and half the taxes you ‘need’ to pay. Sounds to me like you are living WAY above your means! That’s just irresponsible!

What has Obama done to stop illegal workers from taking our jobs? Nothing. Maybe these Repukelikins are right.

The Republicans are the ones who enabled the outsourcing of jobs, thus increasing the competition for the remaining jobs, which forced job-seekers to settle for lower wages.

At the same time the Republicans deregulated the financial sector and permitted tax-loopholes which allowed the already wealthy more money which was either spent in risky short-term stock market speculation, foreign investments, or which they simply socked-away in offshore tax-havens, denying the government income that could have been used to…FUND JOB CREATION PROGRAMS AND SUBSIDIZE JOB TRAINING, for example! (as was made available when Clinton got into power and went on to create through his policies, 22 million NEW JOBS).

Why don’t you report these so called illegals you claim are ‘ahead of you’ to the authorities? Then you’ll have ten jobs to choose from and you can pick two of them, to pay your rent and taxes. Done!

They don’t pay taxes? On anything? You mean when they go to the store to buy groceries and toiletries they get to buy them for the price on the label and don’t have to pay taxes? And if they own a car, they don’t taxes on their fuel? And when their rent goes up because the landlord’s taxes went up, they’re not really paying taxes or more money like the rest of us?

And if they’re being paid under the table at their job, wouldn’t it make you happy that the employer is paying less in taxes because his/her employees are mainly off the books, so he/she is reporting less in taxes than they’re actually making?

Are you sure they don’t pay taxes when just about everything in our lives is taxed?

Know all about them since I’m self-employed and have been since 1994. You?

You were complaining that those people don’t pay taxes and are living 6 in a 2 bedroom place. My point about paying people under the table is exactly what the right winger like, because the employer in the end pays less taxes because his employees are off the books. Right wingers don’t like taxes and if they thought about it, they would LOVE those who get paid under the table because that means less taxes are being paid out to our government.

When I had employees years ago, I used a local payroll service. It was very simple and at a reasonable cost. They even paid my quarterly taxes directly to the government so I didn’t have to think about it.

You need to stand up and take responsibility and be the best dam 10hourday you can be. This great nation wasn’t built by whiny pissant whiteboy accountants you know. It was built by the Chinese, the African slaves, the micks, wops, and spics. Come on now 10 hourday take advantage of the opportunities available. Think outside the box. Stop asking the president to do it for you. I trust in you. You just need to lift yourself up by those weird accountant polyester trousers and start anew…

Um, 10, those charges had to be dropped because the BUSH ADMINISTRATION PROSECUTORS deliberately witheld evidence from the defense, invalidating the trial. In other word, Bush admin sabotaged the trial.

Since Holder is an honest AG, he is sticking to the law which means the trial must be invalidated. Of coursem the defense waited until after Bush left office to bring this up to try to make Holder look bad, to idiots like you. No one with a brain is blaming him.

  339. 5th Estate says:

    10hourday Says: (to 5thEstate)
I tried reporting them and got laughed at. The INS stopped going after them two weeks ago where I live. They live six to a two bedroom apartment and don’t pay taxes. Which is what I may be doing in six months. There are zero jobs available around here.

    (to dbadass)
They are landscapers. I’m going after their jobs because the chance of getting another accounting job is zilch. It’s either theirs or wait tables which I won’t do. It’s work.

I happen to be unemployed myself at the moment–and I’ve been unemployed many times before. And I happen to live in a city with a significant immigrant population (and have done for many years. And I’ve worked alongside people who were clearly right off the boat, not a word of English between them, engaged in manual labor, working on renovations of multi-million dollar homes and apartments.
It seemed likely to me that quite a few of them were here illegally. But as I had a job and I knew I was getting paid more than them, I could pity them.
But I admired them as well because they worked damn hard to earn what little they were given.
And as for resentment, I felt that for the millionaires who contracted them–who were happy to save as much money as they could on their labor, as they did on mine.
And whilst there was always one who was just a clueless gofer, the majority clearly had the trade skills that would satisfy a multimillionaire client.

Now I can appreciate you worrying as your options diminish and time drags on and you make no progress. It;s really depressing–I;ve been there. And it can make you crazy. Unemployment can be hard and stressful ‘work’–it can be real work trying to get the hell out of it.

But it sounds to me from your claims and arguments about who pays taxes and so on, that you have found a scapegoat.
Why did the INS laugh at you? Because they are a-holes? Because you didn;t have any proof for them to act upon?

You won’t wait tables? Beneath your dignity? (I can appreciate it if they aren’t any waiter jobs availble, but you say you WON’T do it).

Do you know anything about landscaping? About plants and soil and drainage and grass species? Or trimming? DO you know how to use the tools required? People are full of surprises and can have many more skills than one might imagine. But there are many low–paid manual jobs that educated people assume they could do easily but simply choose not to and never had to. YOu may think you can do landscaping as well as these ‘illegals’, but can you?

And it’s that kind of assumption that helps keep wages down, and pressures a shrinking labor market.
I can understand that you are feeling desperate–you sure sound like you are.
But you also sound like you are being consumed by it–judging by the simplistic disconnected statements you have made.

Income tax is not the only tax. And if you earn minimum wage or below, which ‘illegals’ tend to do because they have to avoid the legal system they simply can’t pay income taxes–and even if they did, at minimum wage those taxes would be minor.
But they pay sales tax on everything they buy, as KayInMaine points out. And they can;t sponge off welfare because that woud put them in the ’system’ and reveal their illegal status.

THEY aren’t taking jobs away from YOU, your job opportunities are being denied by the people who hire them over you because they are cheaper than you! But because you can’t appeal to the people who employ illegals your only option , apparently, is to blame the supply, NOT THE DEMAND!

I’m just offering you a perspective here.

What has Obama done to stop illegal workers from taking our jobs? Nothing. Maybe these Repukelikins are right.

My apologies if this has already been pointed out, but isn’t the real problem here the employers who illegally hire the non-Americans without work visas? Not the people seeking the work?

  364. Liberal Kelly says:

    – Rep. David Davis (R-TN) and representatives from Sen. Bob Corker’s (R-TN) office will be speaking at the Kingsport protest.

God. This is the city where I was born and raised. Though I come from a long line of democrats, my family members are probably the only democrats in a 600 mile radius. There is a reason I moved to South Florida.

My aunt lives within walking distance of that park in Kingsport. She should go and protest their protest. Get out there in Obama attire and shout “YES WE DID!!” while shaking a sign that echos the sentiment. Hell, if I still lived there, I would. I wonder where they would start with the name calling? Muslim lover? Maybe. Kool-Aid drinker? Probably. Anti-American? You betcha! Socialist? Most definitely!

Have you seen or read any of their blogs? These crazy-ass right wingers commenting at Gretawire or the comments after ANY news story? Yeah… regardless of the subject of a news item, the right wingers will make it about Obama. It will become Obama’s fault. If a cat got stuck in a tree and the fire department got the kitty down, then it would be said that the woman the cat belonged to was a black Muslim, but the house that was on fire six blocks away was owned by a white, Christian family. Obama himself, using taxpayer money, sent the fire department to save the kitty and let the house burn to the ground because he is out to destroy Christianity and America.

It wouldn’t matter that their whole story is made up. It will become absolute truth in about 2.5 seconds. They will say anything and repeat it over and over ad infinitum until you want to whack yourself in the head with an iron skillet. These people are absolutely insane.

However, they’re becoming scarier by the day. I have been consuming a lot of right wing media lately and I feel exactly like Charles Blow from the New York Times in this op-ed piece… These people are LUNATICS. Ah, piddle. I missed RR, and I have such a doozie…. Perhaps I am the last here, but it IS the correct thread, and I scanned through a lot of responses, and don’t think anyone brought this up.

See, I am curious about something that only RR could answer — and it is based on a tale out of the New Testament of the Christian Bible (since RR is one of those who claims that the Old Testament is just there for historical perspective, and that nothing in that applies… well, nothing but the things he elects to use, like the Ten Commandments of Moses… but he can ignore other stuff as he pleases…) anyway… NT: the issue of paying taxes (specifically) is brought up by Jesus’ disciples. Quite simply, they (like the repugs today) were unhappy to have to pay taxes, and they asked their boss-guy, the Big-J, what they ought to do. Big-J asked to see this coin that would be used to pay these taxes. He flipped the coin in his hand, and asked them whose image it was stamped on the coin.

    “Ceazer’s, of course.”

“Then render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, render unto God what is God’s.”

The POINT of that tale is that, as good Christians, you pay your taxes, and money is the realm of MAN.

But I guess conservative christians prefer to worship mammon, and CLAIM to be able to “serve two masters“.

And Jesus saw the modern Christains, and wept bitterly, for they were truly lost.

Who knew tea parties included machine guns, the KKK, and other haters. Huh. I thought tea parties were for old women who had nothing better to do on a Sunday.

  414. kasinca says:

The losers are now having parties to celebrate their losses. This is just going to work against these fools in next years elections. The GOP and the fools with (R) associated to their names are losing each day. They have failed to recognize that they lost for a reason…they are out of touch with the people who understand that the philosophy these people support has failed us miserably. Republicans are not the brightest of the American public.

  415. KateWords says:

These people don’t value secular democracy any further than it’s utility in enforcing their theocracy upon the populace. When they win, they exploit the tools of democracy to legislate their “morals” (aka religious prejudices) into laws we all have to live under. But when they lose, they call for armed rebellion.

They have no shame, no respect, no humility and no love for a secular democracy of peaceful coexistence. When I hear, “Out of Many, One,” to me it means a multitude of diverse groups and belief systems peacefully coexisting alongside one another. But when these conservatives hear it, it means there can only be one surviving ideology after a violent “culture war” they intend to win.

  416. amish_edison says:

I hope these protesters remember to stay within the special, Bush-approved “free-speech zones” like Democratic protesters were told to do outside of the the Republican presidential rally during the campaign.

  417. KateWords says:

What scares me is that these people aren’t just calling for a change in policies; they’re actually calling for a change of government (or at least insinuating it), rejecting the authority of the elected administration.

Considering that these are also the people most likely to own guns, belong to the NRA, love conspiracy theories and always looking for enemies (liberals, gays, foreigners, etc.) to blame everything on… it’s a really, really volotile combination. Extreme conservatives are always angry at something or someone, and this just gives them an excuse to act on those emotions. The mob mentality of back-slapping “let’s get ‘em!” mean-spiritness will take over, and…

The next few months/years are not going to be rosy. This is the beginning of our new reality I fear: the devolving of the conservative/republican platform into an angry, violent domestic insurgency.

  420. NOLIESPLEASE says:

That type of taxation is wrong. The top 5% already pay 70% of this nation’s taxes. It’s time for those who do not have the drive to become successful to pay their share.

Well, if you let the rest of America have it’s share of wealth, we would pay taxes as well.

You have to make over the poverty line to pay taxes!!! AHOLES!!!!!!!!!

  421. Eugene atrax robustus Debs says:

    NoRealityJerk

YOU are an idiot period. Dont hold your breath until those of us with normal IQs take you seriously.

  422. ChaiKat says:

I find those impeach Obama signs amusing. Please! Bush didn’t get impeached after all he’d done, NO WAY Obama is going anywhere.

The man is cleaning up a monumental mess caused by the GOP and their leader. These people need to sit down, shut up and deal with things the way they are now.

  423. PHILD says:

    Let See, mmmm !
We have Gross over-spending by an Admin. made up of People who are Total Idiots !! (now who’s gonna pay for THAT)???
We have at least 4 States with Gay Marriage (total break-down of Moralality) !!
We have Terrorists wanting to Blow us Up (yet, the Prez BOWS to their King) !!
We have the G20 not wanting to help us with Afghanistan (which is really Strange, I mean, Really, did’nt they come to help Bush with Iraq but they won’t help BO with Afghan)????
And You People have the guts to say that Reps don’t have the Right to PROTEST ????
    GET REAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  424. Eugene atrax robustus Debs says:

    PHILD Says:

Well Phil you are a moron. YOU dont get to decide for all of America what is and what isnt moral. Europe HAS been helping us with Afghanistan you idiot France and Germany have troops there right now you idiot Obama gave the guy a nod BUSH kissed and held hands with these guys. You are stupid and you are a hypocrite. Go protest. I will sit home and rejoice in the fact ignorant losers like you LOST and are now irrelevant

  425. nuna says:

Whose the Idiot. France and Germany do not have troops in harms way. They are hiding behind their mama’s skirts like little girls. They are cowards.

Obama, bowed to the King. Why did the Obama administration put a spin on it and lie? Makes you wonder if all thoe rumors that Obama is a Muslin is true. No other President has ever bowed to a King. In that part of the world, shows inferiority. What an embarressment.

Those protesting at the Tea Parties are doing that in voicing their opposition to massive spending, further backrupting social security, welfare, mediaid, medicare, and generation child abuse. We would like to see real leadership and let’s face it, Obama is a disappointment and his endless campaigning is getting tiresome. I keep waiting for him to be Presidental.

  426. Ape-Man says:

    OK nuna, thanks for sharing.

I’m pretty sure they will check to see if Obama is muslin after this.

And France and germany sure look like idiots without troops in harms way.

President Obama seems to be leading the majority of us just fine – what sort of leadership would get you going?

  427. PHILD says:

    Hey NUNA,
    Maybe We’re Wrong !!!
I mean, if the WH says Obama did’nt Bow to the King, then maybe he Did’nt Bow !!
Maybe he was just Shining the Kings Shoes !!! HA !!!

  428. mosby12 says:

Who do these radical conservatives think they are. We should put them all in jail. Since all of this is orchestrated by big money, they have not right to protest. Power to the People!

  429. mosby12 says:

Obama is a sell out. The Saudi’s are despicable. Where is the change when it comes to the killing and proliferation of war. I voted for Obama to get us out of Iraq. NOW HE WILL LEAVE 50,000 troops there AFTER, he “removes” the troops in 19 months. Maybe Big Oil bought him off too???

  430. AJCardsfan07 says:

I want you all to understand that the tea parties are not fundamentally Republican or “right-wing”, they are anti-left wing, they are anti-ruining America by excessive taxes. They are supportive of SMALL government. They are returning to the principles Thomas Jefferson said about “that government which governs best is the government that governs least”. The reason America is America is because the Framers understood that borrowing incredible amounts of money and putting our country in debt that is in numbers beyond our imaginations capability to TRULY comprehend is NOT in the best interest of the country. The TEA parties are about cutting spending, cutting taxes and returning the freedoms of the citizens to the citizens. They are about kicking the pork out of bills and stopping the backscratching going on in Washington. There are a ton of democrats in this country that are steamed over the incredible debt that we will hand over to our children and grandchildren. You would be wise to get your heads out of the liberal clouds and see the reality of what a 3 TRILLION DOLLAR BUDGET will do to this country based on real economics not some blind faith that President Obama can defy the laws of economics and be unlike every single other leader that has decided to put his country into so much debt that they could never pay it off. So, OPEN YOUR eyes. Stop seeing the world between left and right wings and see that 80% of the population just want a small government that will take care of business. The other 20 percent are the “wings” your talking about that have nobody’s interest at heart except their own and their kronies. So, WAKE UP!

  431. PHILD says:

    AJCardsfan07 Says:

    VERY WELL WRITTEN !!!
The Crazies at Msnbc want to report that the “teabaggers” have no reason or rythme to the protest except to bash Obama.
Nothing could be farther from the Truth, and if the Far Left would stop watching Oberman & Maddow and Watch O’Reilly once in a while they Just MIGHT learn something. Like the TRUTH !!

  432. PHILD says:

As for Gay Marriage ?? YES it is IMMORAL just as being Gay is Immoral. People are NOT born Gay, it is a Choice !!!
Abortion is also a Choice !!
Yet, there is a small group of people who believe that their Choice should be Law, no matter how much it hurts America or the World !!
Is this why the MUSLIMS hate us so much ???
    Think about it !!!!!!!!!!!

  433. boggs1701 says:

Sounds like someone is afraid of the first amendment to me. Where were all of these concerns when far left members were calling President Bush a terrorist?
If you are going to call yourself “progressive” then embrace freedom for ALL and oppose the “repressive” movement by the far left.

  434. PHILD says:

    FIRST AMENDMENT ???
Explain where it says that Gays have the right to Marry !!!
    Progressive ??? NO, I am Conservative !!!
FAGOTS have NO Right to MARRY !!!!!

  435. FormerDem says:

As a former Massachusetts Democrat thanks to HR1/Omnibus/TARP/Tax cheat appointees, I can not wait until the hateful factions of the Democratic Party fade out so I may return to my old party. For years the Republicans have portrayed the Dems in the same manner (albiet different positions of course) as I have read here. I have watched as every protester under the sun came out everytime a Democratic Party event took place and used that platform to get their message out. Because of the hateful garbage I have read as of late, I researched the Tea Parties locally here and I have only found working class, middle income people rallying. I, of course, can see where some ultra right nuts may use the Tea Party platform to spout their garbage, but the Left Wing nut jobs are as guilty. By the way, stop saying the Right is whining, when all I read is the Left doing the same against Bush. I may not have voted for him or supported him BUT he is gone. Get on with fixing the country people NOT beating on the past. Don’t make me ashamed I voted for President Obama people, we won and now it is time to prove we were right. Nobody likes a sore winner!

  436. PHILD says:

    WOW,
Did Ya hear Oberman talking about the Tea Party ???
Somebody give him a Xanax !!!
    LOL

  437. guzide says:

  438. broohaha says:

All you liberals must be or have been paid by ACORN to try to disrupt the True-Americans with by the way are REPUBLICANS! First of all, It was Bush who tortured the enemy because we do not want another attack!! If you liberals try to stop this we are definatly vulnerable for an attack. So, if we do get attacked…I will hold you all accountable because you bought Obama the election with ACORN!!

    SAVE BABIES ABORT OBAMA!!!!

  439. diecommiedie says:

Left wing of America: Trying to achieve peace.

Right wing of America: Conspiring to gun down Americans, take over the White House, kill President Obama, so they can turn the White House/government back to the uber wealthy/Bush Cabal.

    Truth:

Left wing of America: Socialist extremists who know nothing about American history or freedom. Self-haters and loud mouths. Lie a lot and are being stomped out in the media by real Americans who want truth. Failures and lazy drug addicts who think race and sexual persuasion outweighs intelligence and morality. Degenerate and sexually confused.

Right wing Americans: Patriots who will fight and die for their country and have done so on numerous occasions, making it scary to be a out in the open leftist/socialist and treasonous.
