Yesterday on his Fox News show, Glenn Beck hosted supply-side Reagan economist Arthur Laffer to discuss government spending. As he loves to do, Beck brought up the tea party events tomorrow, which oddly prompted Laffer to congratulate him:
BECK: When these people are going to the tax tea parties, and I’ve said –
LAFFER: Congratulations, by the way.
BECK: Well, um, I’m just attending.
Why would Laffer offer his congratulations to Beck for the tea parties if Beck supposedly has no role in promoting them? Watch it:
Fox News has been attempting to assert that it is not promoting the tea parties, but simply reporting on them. Last week, Beck backed out as a keynote speaker at the San Antonio tea party event, thereby removing himself from an overt advocacy role. He will be broadcasting from the event for Fox News. But, while there, he is also attending a fundraising lunch for the tea party activists.
I for one would like to teabag beck, salty tears of fear make an excellent lubricant…
April 14th, 2009 at 3:52 pmPoor Becky. He just can’t catch a break! Once again, he’s proven a liar, albeit an inadequate one at that, and tomorrow he will be shown to be a poor organizer.
I guess he’ll have to take solice in some nice teabagging to make himself feel a bit better.
PEACE
April 14th, 2009 at 3:55 pmArthur Laffer?…..the architect of the Laffer Curve!
hahahaha….the VERY engineer of this economic mess from the 80’s
his faux economic model has so thoroughly been debunked that it is extinct
April 14th, 2009 at 3:55 pmOoooo, Gascan Glenn is backing off from his support? Did the Faux legal beagles finally get through the message that if Faux calls support for sedition it might be a bad thing?
As the song says…”Too much, too little, too late…”
April 14th, 2009 at 3:57 pm“By the way, congratulations on the Super Bowl win, Mr. Roethlisberger.”
“Well, um, I was just a spectator.”

April 14th, 2009 at 3:59 pmThe only people too stupid to see how Fox manufactured this ’story’ are the fans of Beck, O’Reilly, Hannity, and Fox News.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:00 pmIt must be incredibly embarrassing for a ‘journalist’ to have to admit to working there.
Pathetic.
From Hume’s Ghost:
The stupid…it buuuuurrrns…
April 14th, 2009 at 4:02 pmGlen Beck is my favorite of all time. Didn’t he “heal” that guy the other night on his show? I just knew it was a matter of time before Preacher Beck would be a-healin his sick (in the head) friends.
Praise God, heal me brother.
No-Bama-Drama for the GOP
April 14th, 2009 at 4:02 pmFundraiser for Tea Baggers ? Let me guess what the menu consists of …..TUBE STEAK???? Am I close????? and for desert…..Bananna split????
Oh these repugs sure know how to have fun!!! U betcha!!!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:03 pmDoes Laffer still that napkin he wrote that curve on, if so let`s throw it out and get new one…………napkin that is, with a better curve on it.The Obama Curve sounds good to me.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:03 pmLOL, something tells me Laffer got his ear chewed off after that little slip up.
Can you say B.U.S.T.E.D?
:D
LMAO
April 14th, 2009 at 4:04 pmLaffer: “congratulations Glen on those protests..oops….er,. I mean..uh…..[sweat, sweat]., uhhh, …you know….those protests that you had nothing to do with.”

April 14th, 2009 at 4:06 pmNOLIES, Who do you got your money on for the CUP?
April 14th, 2009 at 4:06 pmCONGRATS BECKY!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:07 pmyou’re officially the “faux news tool” of the year and for your special prize, rupie murdoch’s going to teabag you.
Most of the teabaggers seem to be from the…
…lead-paintchips for lunch bunch.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:08 pmGlenn’s just being modest.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:08 pmArthur Laffer? Seriously? They dug up Arthur “supply side” Laffer and stuck him on Fox as a credible opinion? That would be as bad as dredging up Newt “I’m shutting down the government because Clinton made me sit in the back of the plane” Gingrich as a Republican voice. Oh wait. . .
April 14th, 2009 at 4:09 pmBeck must be catching hell for endorsing the tea parties. ROTFL! Now he’s trying to distance himself as a key promoter. Becky Boy must be feeling the fire from the flames of hate he keeps fanning LMAO! Shyte, he may as well pour gasoline on himself.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:11 pmyes, yes, congratulations are in order!
Congratulations on being Lord God King Teabagger.
BOW TO THE MESSIAH!!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:12 pmNOLIES, Who do you got your money on for the CUP?
Hey Chris…how are you buddy??? Well to tell you the truth…I’m a Boston Bruin Fan…ever since the days of Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Jonny Bucik (the Chief) etc. I will never bet against my Bruins!!!
So you know where my heart lies….GO BRUINS GO!!!!
Second Choice…Boston….LOL…ok kidding…I’d have to say San Jose is pretty smart money….they are the only team that could defur my dream of seeing the Bruins win. Last time was in 1972..long time ago. I still remember crying after there loss to the flyers ( 1 – 0 ).
That will not happen again. Who’s your pick Chris????
Back on topic…lol…..How about those tea baggers???? Ever notice how tea baggers always gargle the same way…interesting!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:13 pm“….you clearly had nothing to do with these protests Glen….which is why I am congratulating you on them.”

April 14th, 2009 at 4:14 pmIn a homophonous coincidence, I apply the laugher curve to the Glenn Beck program:
There is a point in his show where it stops being funny, and begins to become incredibly sad.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:18 pmNOLIES, San Jose no way, Detroit and Boston in the finals,An original SIX finals would be awesome.God how I miss Bobby flying thru the air when he scored that goal.I miss Gordie Howe throwing an elbow at leapin Lou of Chicago, those were the good old days.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:18 pmNOLIES, So tee bagging has the same meaning in Canada? slurp slurp gurgle gurgle,Do re-pukes like lemon with theirs?
April 14th, 2009 at 4:20 pmNOLIES, San Jose no way, Detroit and Boston in the finals,An original SIX finals would be awesome.God how I miss Bobby flying thru the air when he scored that goal.I miss Gordie Howe throwing an elbow at leapin Lou of Chicago, those were the good old days.
I would love to see an origional six in the finals however, Detroits has problems in net. No goalie! ….lol. Detroit will make it to second round. Depending who plays Detroit, they make the conference finals.
For anyone who doesn’t watch hockey…this is the time. PLAYOFF hockey will rivet you to your seat. The crowds, the hitting and the tempo of the game is amazing. Check it out if you haven’t before. And Chris….don’t forget about Stan Mikita, and the best fighter of the past ….DAVE THE HAMMER SCHULTS.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:23 pmHockeytown will be rockin in June once again……..if Ozzie doesn`t get brain cramp.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:23 pmDr. Moth Matt Says:
Go Wings!”
That’s one thing we can agree on!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:26 pmDave the Hammer Shultz and the Broadstreet bully`s were blast to watch………all that long hair and mustaches. Thus I digress I miss my hair.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:26 pmI never thought that i’d see the day where, so called, americans favored higher taxes and trusted government to actually spend your money wisely.
Wow, you folks have been completely brainwashed. The only explaination for your utter ignorance is the public education system. They stopped teaching history and the constitution in the 60’s and most of you are products of the later decades.
Media outlets like MSNBC and blogs like this have actually twisted your thinking and your anger against the working American citizens who are attending these tax protests.
How is it that you are not angry with a corrupt two party government that is using the working class to benefit their own agenda?
Duh, big business is still getting bailed out? Are you?
April 14th, 2009 at 4:27 pmYes to the “WINGS:!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:30 pmDearest TIM43, I took a gander at my paycheck last week and lo and behold I actually had $20 extra bucks, it`s not much but it`s a start, now if we can only convince you red state SHEEPLE that the wealthy need to pay their fair share and next thing you I`ll have $50 a check. You red state sheeple are pathetic losers and shills for the wealthy who could care less about blue collar Americans like yourself but yet you continue to defend these people day in and day out.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:32 pmTim43 Says: I never thought that i’d see the day where, so called, americans favored higher taxes and trusted government to actually spend your money wisely.
I guess you don’t like your fire protection or police or highways and roads. People like you are the problem you blame everyone except the ones responsible. The republican party is the party of NO regulations which helped to create this mess. As for how our money is being spent well since moste experts don’t have a clue what to do, they have their opinions but nothing backed up by evidance, I will personally trust the current Administration to do what is best for us over you. I don’t need bailed out do you? and if so why is that?
April 14th, 2009 at 4:34 pmI too would like to congradulate Beck on his herculean efforts to create interest in his apocoliptical dream. I wonder what he will dredge up with his travelling snake oil show.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:35 pmHi Tim43:
April 14th, 2009 at 4:36 pmWhat is your big beef with taxes? I have never felt overtaxed as I realize stuff has to be paid for. I admit that I don’t want it used for stupid shit like the whole Iraq fiasco and such but otherwise clean air and water and safe food and roads and national parks and education and shit is fine by me. Shit tax me some more if it goes toward the disadvantaged and the less fortunate, the kids, the elderly, the impaired. I’m good…
Since NBC and liberals have threatened Beck with violence, whos going to be paying for his police protection when he goes teabagging.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:38 pmTimmeh. Thanks for dropping by to remind us just how astonishingly ignorant you are. Without periodic reminders it is hard to believe ANYONE could possibly be as stupid as you are. You calling us brainwashed is the clearest example of projection I have ever seen. It should be the example psychiatric textbooks use. You are still a moron Timmeh. You will always BE a moron Timmeh. There are some new trolls that may be as stupid as you but your stupid is vintage, classic and pure. Bush tossing money down a RATHOLE was all well and good for you and Obama investing in America makes you apoplectic. My GOD you are stupid. It is refreshing in a way to see someone like you so unashamed to be SO STUPID
April 14th, 2009 at 4:39 pmMikala. Now your talking my language. These Reich wing shills always forget about police, fire, water, sewage, roads and the rest of the commons that we pay for with our taxes but we don`t forget and we understand the logic of the commons, they only understand limpballs, becky, billo and the newtster and what they say out of their collective a$$e$(pieholes).
April 14th, 2009 at 4:40 pmLaffer’s latest came just two days after appearing on FNC’s Journal Editorial Report to claim that President Obama will raise taxes on lower income Americans because, Laffer pronounced, “it cannot be done at the high end because those people can get away from it.”
For more details, see:
April 14th, 2009 at 4:40 pm“Latest Laffer: Rich Too Smart to Pay Higher Taxes.”
Tim43 Says:
Heheh. he said “you folks”.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:42 pmDidn’t you guys know…tea bagging is a REPUBLICAN sport???? Larry Craig..is the captain of the team. Ted Haggert (team preacher) had an open door to Prez Bush office. Do yo know why???? Teddy was teaching Bush and Carl the fundlementals tea bagging knowing one day, all across America, the great people of the Republican Party will be engulfing all the “tea” they could handle. OPEN WIDE AND SAY AHHHHHHHH.
As a Canadian, I am dumb founded by the sheer number of idiots that congrate to one party….REPUBLICAN. It’s amazing how you orginized ALL OF them to one party.
WHO NEEDS THE COMEDY CHANNEL WHEN YOU HAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FOR COMEDIC ENTERTAINMENT!!!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:43 pmWorking American citizens will be at work, not tea-bagging.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:44 pmIt’s true, no one knows how to teabad like Beck.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:45 pmNOLIES sys;As a Canadian, I am dumb founded by the sheer number of idiots that congrate to one party….REPUBLICAN. It’s amazing how you orginized ALL OF them to one party.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:49 pm————————————————————–
As Americans we can`t believe either, but then again these are SHEEPLE we are talking about, you know the saying’ignorance is bliss” and it fits these tee baggers to a TEE(bagger).
Well, this protest will accomplish one thing.
Never again will the right wing be able to accuse anyone of being “unpatriotic” for not supporting the President.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:54 pmLET’S GO CAPS!! Rock the Red!!
Sorry, NOLIES — as a former Boston resident but DC-area native, I’m torn between the Bruins and my Caps this year. Best thing about following both: Ray Bourque’s son Chris now plays for the Caps (man, do I feel old…).
April 14th, 2009 at 4:56 pmAs Americans we can`t believe either, but then again these are SHEEPLE we are talking about, you know the saying’ignorance is bliss” and it fits these tee baggers to a TEE(bagger).
baaaahaaaaaaaaabaaaaaahhhhhhhh …..I love this site. I really do!!!! Thank you God (even if im a non believer)for giving me neighbors who have an understanding of what is REALLY IMPORTANT in life.
Ok …Correction….only Dems understand….the Repugs can burn in hell while eating shite and sucking on tea bags!!!!!!
April 14th, 2009 at 4:56 pmTim, I believe in the right to associate here in America. We all have the right to express our opinions about a common right that we believe is being violated. That is one thing I will not disagree about, as America is still one of the most liberated countries in the world.
However, the gripe I have with these tea parties is that they are not unified in belief. If someone were to tell me that every citizen attending these tea parties are there to express their outrage at increases in taxes, I would call their bluff. This is a full-blown tantrum session to gripe about any thing they do not like about the Obama Administration, no matter how trivial.
This is not an organization with a common belief. This is as if people had joined the original Boston Tea party just because they didn’t like tea.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:57 pmIts a good thing Beck has such a big mouth,im sure hes looking forward to teabagging Billdo,Limpdick, and seany all at the same time.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:57 pmApologies to Dr. Matt and Detroit: Boston is the new Hockeytown, what with BU and the Bruins.
April 14th, 2009 at 4:59 pmDogfather,,Sorry, NOLIES — as a former Boston resident but DC-area native, I’m torn between the Bruins and my Caps this year. Best thing about following both: Ray Bourque’s son Chris now plays for the Caps (man, do I feel old…)
This is going to be exciting for sure. Your right, the biggest challange the Bruins have in the east is the CAPS. Ovechkin is one to be feared. His talent is something to behold. And your right…I feel old too…lol.
Only three people walk on water in Boston….BOBBY ORR, LARRY BIRD, AND RAYMOND BOURKE….enough said!!!! One thing that made these men great…not just talant…but there loyalty to the team. These playoffs are going to be great, whatever team wins.
April 14th, 2009 at 5:01 pmThe Ctenocephalides Dogfather , Where in the hell did the Caps come from this year, Ovechkin is awesome, but do you have goaltending and defense like Boston and Detroit?
April 14th, 2009 at 5:01 pmSpring heeled jack.I don`t want to disappoint you but you are Bean Town and we are hockeytown and like the good Dr. says win 4 cups in 11 years get back to me, and at least win 2 cups back to back.Go Wings!!!!!!! April 14th, 2009 at 5:09 pmPosters Note: I have made jokes and referances about tea bagging but in no way do I wish to offend anyone in the gay communitty who favors this act. I’m also in favor (and support)of gay marraige and the rights of all (including the dumb fcuks in the republican party).
Thank you.
April 14th, 2009 at 5:12 pmWAYNEBRO Says:
Well, this protest will accomplish one thing.
Never again will the right wing be able to accuse anyone of being “unpatriotic” for not supporting the President.
It will probably end up cutting both ways. If the President were to be a Republican in the future, and the liberal/progressive/Democratic voices were to gather in protest, the conservative media will point a finger and state they can reject the liberal movement, since the liberals rejected their “tea party” movement.
April 14th, 2009 at 5:12 pmSpring heeled jack, The Bu win was awesome watched most of the game.My boys from Ann Arbor stunk up the joint against the Air Force Academy, shite 13 shots and two goals against the Maize and Blue was incrediable, maybe next year when we get the Frozen Four here in Detroit.I`ll be there, hope you and NOLIES can make.
April 14th, 2009 at 5:14 pmcan make it….

April 14th, 2009 at 5:17 pmFixed it…
April 14th, 2009 at 5:17 pmBecky will be in Sacramento tomorrow. It’s pretty windy out here today in the Bay Area, and their weather is usually a day behind ours… I am hoping a tornado will whirl him away to Munchkinland.
April 14th, 2009 at 5:17 pmOr at least, hoping for rain.
Spring heeled jack.I don`t want to disappoint you but you are Bean Town and we are hockeytown and like the good Dr. says win 4 cups in 11 years get back to me, and at least win 2 cups back to back.Go Wings!!!!!!! Spring…these gentlement are correct!!! I’m a Bruin fan but I am realistic as well. Detroit is HOCKEY TOWN until such time that another city rules over hockey the way DETROIT has. Not even Montreal can call themselves “HOCKEY TOWN” until such time the CUP (For those who don’t know, is the oldest trophy in professional sport and the hardest to win)returns to that city at least 4 to 5 times within a decade.
It will be some time before we can give the “HOCKEY TOWN TITLE” to another city.
Facts are hard to swollow sometimes but at least us liberals understand the facts not like …..umm…..ummm….oh yea REPUGS!!!

I second that emotion!
a repug teabag-fest could be a close second. we’ll have to wait and see.
and how about that frozen four final? classic! (it’s gotta suck to be redhawk fan)
Go Wings! (get your head out of your arse, ozzie!)
April 14th, 2009 at 5:19 pmGo Blue! (maybe next year)
I see parallels with invading Iraq and these tea parties. Both were presented with a reason for it. Both had those reasons change. Both use distorted truths and out and out lies to get to the reasons. Both were promoted by the Military Industrial Complex AND Fox News. Both used fear to convince sheeple of the usefulness of them.

And I, being the true weasel that I am, hopped on all the teams’ bandwagons. And who can blame me for exchanging the Bullets/Wiz for the Celtics?! Although it’s difficult to forsake Alex Ovechkin.
The Massachusetts liberalism in me, however, has been lifelong.

April 14th, 2009 at 5:33 pmWell they can “say” anything.
In fact they usually do.
As for providing them a valid reference? Not hardly.
Once the country was in trouble liberals and democrats, progressives, independents, ALL rallied around the President.
A fact proven by his 89 percent Approval Rating Post 911, which continued in the 3 quarters percentile range for almost 2 years.
President Obama on the other hand hasn’t received one single solitary DAY of support from the right wing. Not one. They’ve fought him at every turn and refused to support him.
He’ been in office for 90 days and this makes like the 2nd or 3rd organized protest from the right wing against him. There’s been ZERO support right out of the gate.
Unless the right wing gets behind this President for at least a little while, during this time of war and crisis, then they will have lost all actual claims to Patriotism and love for their country.
No one is going to take them seriously after this nonsense.
April 14th, 2009 at 5:35 pmSpring heeled jack, I Love D.C. and Yeunglings, does Mass have it to?
April 14th, 2009 at 5:38 pmHey Christopher, old sport, DC is marvy and I miss it but I haven’t searched for Yeunglings up here yet. I need my wits about me to find a job in this burg. New Bedford last thrived when Lincoln’s body was warm.

April 14th, 2009 at 5:57 pmBECK: Well, um, I’m just attending.
Beck, you liar!! It’s really important that everyone- journalists, news stations, & the general public – continues to blast Beck & Fox, Malkin, etc. for their blatantly partisan promotion & fundraising support for these anti-American, anti-government events. Hey, you guys– whatever happened to your screams & bullying about supporting the president? Disgusting hypocrites, that’s Beck, Hannity, Malkin, etc. & all the Repub politicians drooling to support this attack on the U.S. government. He’s your president, too, you hateful, bigoted millionaires.

Bart Simpson couldn’t do it any better.
April 14th, 2009 at 6:09 pmwhy won`t you repubs get behind Obama and help get things done instead of acting like a bunch of kids in the school yard.I can honestly say that as much as Dems were disgusted with the Shrub and his crime family we never wanted him to fail because if he did we all would have failed together not separate like you want.
April 14th, 2009 at 6:13 pmlol
Laffer: Congratulations on the protests.
Beck: “Well I uhh…er….well..uh… I’m just ….uh …er…“
April 14th, 2009 at 6:59 pmIf you ask a dozen different people attending the “tea parties” why they plan to attend, you will get a dozen different reasons and none will have any merit based on reality.
Obama has not raised taxes, he has cut them for the vast majority of Americans.
The Bush Administration created the national deficit problem, and now we MUST invest federal dollars to re-right the ship.
And it was the LACK of government regulation that caused the banking system to crash.
Complaining about “socialism”? Does that mean you plan to refuse Medicare when you become eligible? Will you encourage your elderly loved ones to do likewise? Cause there isn’t anything more “socialistic” at the federal level than taxpayer-subsidized health care for senior citizens.
Or are you one of those extreme right-wing fringe whack-jobs that still think Obama is a Muslim…or a foreigner….or an alien?
Quick, run to Rush. He’ll give you a new batch of scripted talking points.
And to the handful of folks that mistakenly believed that they would be participating in a genuine grass roots political event, well, there is no Easter bunny either. It is true that you have every right to protest, air your concerns, and express your anger about the economy. But at the same time, the reality is that you are being reduced to a propaganda tool for the bozos on FOX News, FreedomWorks, and elsewhere that wish to exploit your concerns for their own self-serving, disingenuous purposes. Best to take a hot shower when you get home.
Of course, all of this tea partying could improve the economy if everyone buys stock in Lipton on Tuesday and then sells it on Thursday…
April 15th, 2009 at 2:50 amthese tea baggers are as bad as thos acorn organized protests in front of the bonus recipients houses.
April 15th, 2009 at 9:43 amThe tea parties would have more credibility if the participants were not so ignorant about the merits of their cause. It would be like people protesting “illegal aliens” by holding up signs that read “Martians go home!”.
April 15th, 2009 at 11:23 amOne of the persistent themes being voiced at the tea parties is the notion of “taxation without representation”, a concept borrowed from the original Boston Tea Party.
However, we just had an election during which every adult citizen had the opportunity to vote. So what these folks are really complaining about is that their candidate(s) LOST!
This does not invalidate the election, people. All it means is that you are SORE LOSERS. Suck it up and try again in 2010.
