First of all, I agree with any and all who said in effect ‘Who Cares’. Beyond that here we have a case of quid pro quo on many levels. First, after the Republicans basically destroyed any wealth the Clintons had managed to accrue by forcing extraordinary legal fees Slick Willy was liable for they made a deal. While ‘W’ was doing everything possible to destroy the Bush ‘brand’ GHW offered Clinton a means to redefine himself with a ‘together tour’ to raise money for tsunami victims. GHW would call off the dogs if Slick Willy would lend his stature to the tour. Now, if anyone is so foolish as to think that any group other than ignorant die-hard wingnuts would pay cash to see ‘W’(unless it was, God grant, his public hanging) you are sadly deluded. So, payback time is here. ‘W’ will get his cut and in the eyes of some will no doubt burnish his image. LOL ‘W’.

That does come down to the two people who got us to where we are today. Bush Jr was so stung by the loss of his dad to Bill that he started the Iraq war, because he said GHW didn’t go far enough in taking out Saddam. But we’ll probably get nothing substantial out of this stunt, nothing on the record, nothing actionable.

I don’t want to beat a dead horse because it’s really a non-issue with me at least. I agree that Clinton was vastly more “popular” than Bush 2 or 1 for that matter. But that doesn’t change the fact that those whom “hate” him hate him with a venomous passion. (Thanks to Rush Blowhard et.al)

The “most reviled” comment was a side comment anyway

My point was that I see no reason for this debate. They’re not running for office or anything else.

Frankly, I’d like to see Bill just fade away and Bush imprisoned.

My point was what’s the point of the debate? It can only serve to create more derision. (Not that I advocate any fence mending with the rethugs.)

Are they going to serve as the “champions” of the left and right in a battle of ideologies?

BTW-
This used to be a PROGRESSIVE web site…not exclusively democrat. (Under different monikers, I’ve been around before Ryan Neat used to spank MA all over this site if anyone remembers those days.) Until very recently, anyone who criticized a dem was instantly labeled a troll. As a card carrying union steamfitter and small business owner I can say that Clinton did me no favors. He lost me forever when he caved to the rethugs on n.a.f.t.a.

I had hope with this new administration but I’m losing it quickly. “Card check” has been gutted to joke status as well as a whole host of other issues.

Dems appear to be the champions of gay rights, minorities, and the environment.

Rethugs are the champions of multi-national corporations.

Who are the champions of the hard working highly skilled tradesmen(persons) this country will need to put itself back together again?
