Earlier this month, hate radio host Rush Limbaugh brought attention to the fact that the hijackers of the Maersk Alabama ship were “black Muslim teenagers.” “Now, just imagine the hue and cry had a Republican president ordered the shooting of black teenagers on the high seas,” said Limbaugh, later joking, “If only President Obama had known that the three Somali community organizers are actually young black Muslim teenagers, I’m sure he wouldn’t have given the order to shoot.” Yesterday, Shane Murphy, the second-in-command of the Maersk, returned home and sharply criticized Limbaugh’s remarks:
“It feels great to be home,” Murphy said. “With the exception of Rush Limbaugh who is trying to make this into a race issue. It’s disgusting.”
“The president did the right thing. It’s a war. It’s about good versus evil. And what you (Limbaugh) said is evil, that is hate speech. I won’t tolerate it,” Murphy said.

As usual, you are wrong. If you had bothered to read the news articles on this, you would have read that President Obama had given the military permission to act as they thought appropriate on Friday. The fact that they didn’t act until Sunday was entirely the choice of the military.

How little you understand those you perceive to be your “enemies.” You erroneously say we “worship” these members of Congress. None of us chose either Nancy Pelosi or harry reid top be their respective party leaders in either House. The Democrats ion Congress did that, and without regard for our wishes. I wrote to my own congressman urging him not to support Pelosi for Speaker because of her refusal to impeach Bush. He didn’t listen to me. As I am a New Yorker, neither Frank nor Kennedy represent me, nor do I have any say in their election. Good luck to them both. What you are forgetting is that once health care costs are brought down, projected government deficits will drop. This will inspire more confidence in the markets (preferably through investments in green technologies), which will bring in more revenues to the treasury, which will reduce borrowing, which will keep revolving into good things.
The role of capitalism will necessarily be diminished over time. You cannot have a functioning, healthy society when each and every thing has a price on it because someone, somewhere, has to make a profit on it. You should be more open-minded to systems other than capitalism.
The way I look at this whole financial crisis is this. Someone, or a few someones, will be at the top of all this inflated wealth upon which the system is resting right now. If things were worth the value they are assessed at, these people would stand to make, collectively, trillions of dollars. Many of them are already multi-billionaires even without this inflated wealth. I say fix the problem in such as way that the people at the top of the income ladder get the least out of all this. They don’t need it, and if they are suddenly worth a few billion dollars less on paper, I won’t shed a tear for them. When people say, “Elections don’t matter” they should remember the fact that 9-11 did not occur on President Clinton’s watch, and it had nothing to do with being lucky, it had everything to do with a president who recognized threats to our National Security and prevented attacks from occurring. President Clinton recognized the danger of Al Qaeda and was proactive rather than reactive.
When a president recognizes a threat to our national security and is proactive in dealing with such a threat, the president can work with and push intelligence and law enforcement agencies to cooperate, in order to a prevent a potential national tragedy such as the 2000 millennium hijacking and bombing plots.

If the people have indeed had their fill of Reaganomics, then he’s on his last legs, and soon, the only people who will still listen to him will be the 20% that supported Bush until the bitter end.
The less popular he becomes, the less he’ll feel pressure to moderate out. The less moderating out he does, the more he’ll spout crap like this, and the more likely he is to insult an American Hero and further marginalize himself and the movement he represents. I agree with Vsmith. Obama was clearly elected because he is black. It was an unfair advantage, and I always thought that McCain should have been allowed to campaign in blackface to even things up. But the libs would have went nuts if he did that. You know how they are. So Obama was able to take unfair advantage by being a black male. One thing white Americans have always loved it’s a black male. And Obama took full advantage of that. It’s really not right. I can only hope that Sarah Barracuda! is the nominee in 012, because there is a woman who is not afraid to slap a few cards down on the table. McCain didn’t have the guts to buck the phony liberal outrage and campaign against Obama in black face, thus evening up the field and giving the white man a fair shot for once…but I bet Sarah would do it.

I, a Caucasian woman married to an Asian, voted for Obama, first, because he was the Democrat candidate.
