If, as you claim, Obama won because he is black, then why didn’t Republican (token) blacks like Michael Steele and Blackwell win respectively in Maryland and Ohio? I, a Caucasian woman married to an Asian, voted for Obama, first, because he was the Democrat candidate. I would have voted for any Democrat after eight years of a disastrous Republican administration. But I had already been impressed with Obama’s intelligence and eloquence.
Moreover, in terms of education, here was a black candidate (with a white mother who once lived on food stamps) who managed not only to graduate from Columbia University (my own alma mater) but also went on to become the first black editor of the “Harvard Law Review.” On the other hand, there was the white candidate, who came from from a prestigious Navy family yet managed to graduate only fifth from the bottom of his class of over 900. And then I had to worry whether the old white man/cancer survivor’s health would hold up during four or eight years, since his running mate is a total airhead. (The prank call from the phony Sarkosy really did it for me. There were many places in that conversation that a person with half a brain would have picked up on as fishy but not Sarah Barracuda.)

I’m white (Caucasian) and I voted for Obama. Your point is very stupid at best. I chose Obama because he spoke with conviction about the problems we have and how he wishes to approach them. He is a leader which is what WE NEED right now – not some neocon punk from Texass or Arizona. The GOP is irrelevant and have lied to America about many, many thing which I will not list here. You need to do some reading of books and independent research before speaking. Also, you probably need to shut off FAUX news and listed to CSPAN to deprogram the lies you have been told and now consider as truth.
