Fox won’t air Obama’s 100 days press conference.

The AP reports that Fox has decided to stick with its regular line-up on Wednesday, meaning it won’t air President Obama’s prime-time news conference marking his 100th day in office. Instead, viewers will see an episode of “Lie to Me.” ABC, CBS, and NBC will be airing the press conference.

Not exactly… it’s more what they assume their audience wants from them.

And they do their level best to deliver it.

  14. hwmnbn says:

Cool. So from now on, Obama administration can freeze out all Fox correspondents and boycott the FNC talking head shows. Obama doesn’t need Fox, their viewers are the 21% dead-enders who’ll never support him anyway.

It is very appropriate for Fox News to avoid Obama’s presser. Fox has been – and will continue to be – a very polarizing and dishonest ‘news’ source for the gullible (like 54thursday). They don’t provide news (factual anyway) and 54thursday doesn’t want facts anyway – he wants quick and oh so clever talking points to try and befuddle the rest of us.

Quick question for the losers (54thursday): Who you going to allow to heal and fix our country? Limbaugh or Obama and the US citizens. Limbaugh cares nothing for you – NOTHING! Only himself and his underaged sex toys (maybe 54thursday is one of them?) Could it be?

Fox News should be reminded that the airwaves are not republican airwaves nor democrat airwaves. They are PUBLIC AIRWAVES and under FCC rules they have an obligation to provide a public service to viewers. By not airing Obama’s speech, they are in violation of FCC rules and must be either fined or face loss of license.

Good job Fixed News. You did yourself in real good this time.

  30. paz3 says:

Sorry I didn’t include in my post above, but some of you seem to be confusing Fox Network TV with the Fox News Channel.

  31. Purple State says:

This isn’t as much news as it is evidence that Fox just has their own negative opinion about this conference and our President.

The thing that makes me wonder, however, is that I don’t think the four major networks ignored any of the prime-time speeches that Bush did. At least, if one network showed it, the other three did, as well.

Fox will be back on the wagon once the President gives us his “State of the Union” address.

It doesn’t matter. They are a news outlet and still must provide a public service to viewers. That includes presidential speeches.

  37. Xisithrus says:

The drama is expected to debut early next year; Fox has made a 13-episode commitment. Based on the work of a real-life scientist who is able to read the human body and voice to determine if someone is being truthful, Lie to Me will be the first attempt at TV stardom for Roth

    Sounds kinda boring…

Tim Roth was born Timothy Simon Smith in Dulwich, London, the son of Ann, a painter and teacher, and Arnie Smith, a journalist, painter and, until the 1970s, a member of the British Communist Party.

It’s going to be difficult to make an accurate comparison, since the people who will be watching Obama will be watching on all the other networks, plus the cable news networks — causing the audience to be split several different ways (and some will be listening on NPR and avoiding television altogether). “Lie to Me” will probably do great, because it’s the only place the mouth-breathers will have to go.

I have noticed that Fox rarely shows Obama speak live. I suspect they prefer having their “analysts” review his speeches before airing select sound bites and then editorializing the story. In short, Fox avoids allowing Obama to speak for himself by minimizing its live coverage of his speeches.

And that’s not even mentioning the overwhelming diplomatic successes already achieved by our new honorable, respectful, knowledgeable President. The Reichwhiners can’t afford to let that information get to the 28%ers. Though, to be fair, the only ones who would sit through an Obama speech are the ones who can’t reach the remote and there’s little chance they would comprehend what’s being said.

Does this mean this “sack of shit” network is still carrying the conference but is directing it’s viewers to their FNC and FBN channels to view the Obama’s press conference?

    UrkelPUNK

My GOD you ignorant pieces of garbage never stop with your stupidity. You just roll in here showing what trailer trash punks you are. You racist, redneck, inbred cretin, take your stupidity and shove it where the Sun never shines, that dark dank cavity you usually keep your head in. Sniff while your head is still on the other side of that rectal sphincter, you walking colostomy bag. That is what failure smells like. Your massive stupidity has turned America against you and you are done, you are irrelevant. You kick your feet show your stupidity and have all the tantrums you want no one cares one whit what you think you worthless imbecile

The rules that the FCC is supposed to enforce are probably written down somewhere. If you’re going to claim that FOX is violating one of them, then please cite it. If you’re going to say they’re violating some vague-yet-important princple, then please word your argument more carefully.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

I guess I will make what arguments I choose the way I think best. I dont much care if you like it. They DO have EXACTLY the obligation I cited. I have previously linked to the FCC website which says EXACTLY that. It isnt up to YOU or me or FOX to decide what that is and it is certainly arguable that NOT carrying a presidential speech is evading that responsibility. I dont see how much plainer I can make it. I SAID it wasnt cut and dried but the argument can CERTAINLY be made.
    .

When they start paying RENT on their broadcasting rights get back to me on that free market thing.

They do. Broadcast licenses aren’t free.
    <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

No they dont. They pay for the licence that is NOT rent. It is a flat fee. That would be like saying that by paying the security deposit I am paying rent on an apartment. The resource they are using is ours and their use of it is ONGOING MOST resources being exploited would pay a royalty. IF you drilled for oil on my land I wouldnt just get a flat fee I would get a percentage of what the oil was worth. The rersource they are using is worth billions and they arent paying any where NEAR a ‘free market’ price for it.

I confess to not knowing the difference between FNN and FNC, which is to say, were Fox to cover the president’s speech or not, I would never know. Because I. don’t. watch. fox.

But, hey, it’s good to know Fox and the GOP are walking hand in hand into the abyss.

  164. LEGALIZEIT says:

What do you people mean Pravda’s not covering the prez’s speech??? I’m shocked, I tell ya!! Seriously, can you imagine what pox spews will be like if obama gets a second term. They’ll probably have shows on how to build truck-bombs, hosted by beck, of course.

  165. muzz says:

Who cares? Honestly, I don’t care what Faux does, or what the IDIOTS that watch that dribble have to say – get a life trolls!

  166. tlynch says:

American Idol is the reason they aren’t running the press conference.

  167. pete says:

The thing to keep in mind is that the shrieking losers have sworn to never listen to a word our President ever says anyway. The hardcore 28%ers, like our pet rolls, are impervious to reality. They’ll spend the next month blathering about two or three words that scared Bill0 and Becky and Lush without ever having exposed themselves to the actual speech.

Of course, if they started paying attention at this point they would risk learning that every ongoing crisis Obama inherited, with the possible exception of the Afghanistan/Pakistan boarder, is showing some sign of improvement. Even the hemorrhage of jobs is slowing and employment tends to lag behind a general recovery. It’s amazing how much, and how quickly, things can improve with competent people in charge.

While the Reichwhiners sit in their basements with a pile of hoarded weapons the real world is going about the business of repairing the damage of recent years. We’ll make a bunch of mistakes but, at least, we aren’t cowering in fear because we are frightened of our shadows, our neighbors, Satanists, Muslims, atheists, “libruls”, and turning our lights off.

  168. rightwing-leftwing says:

Pete, don’t forget that if the Reichwhiners turn their lights on, they’re afraid that they’ll get taxed three thousand bucks because of the cap and trade.

  169. flight says:

    Proud Says:

Why are you “progressives” all so angry? This should be your summer of love. You have a muslim socialist kenyan immigrant in the White House and you control both houses. Please explain all the anger. Just remember your savior O said “lets not look back” So lets all move forward with love.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hey proud, you do a good imitation of Rush. Do you know him like personal, or do you just listen a lot. Maybe you are the king dittohead himself.

    just curious

  170. pete says:

    rightwing-leftwing says:

Ya got that right. But? They’ll also refuse to buy energy efficient light bulbs because, as Crazy Shelly(Bachmann- InsaneR,Mn.) says, “we’re free to use any light bulbs we want“.

There’s really no hope in trying to argue with stupidity of that level.

At least it only happened when Nancy’s astrologer said the stars were in the right alignment. Heck! That astrologer might have saved us from a nuclear holocaust.

  173. kdgamergirl says:

Talking to the trolls just seems to be a lost cause. They obviously have some deep set need to be called names and validate that low self esteem. They’re just in the tantrum phase on the path to acceptance.

Again, with teleprompter crap. I’d like to see you morons memorize the lengthy speeches and remarks he has to make and again, he isn’t the only person who uses one. Get over it.

Finally to RC, I hope you don’t loose your healthcare one day. Then you’ll know what it’s like to die from diseases that could easily be treated. Bottom line it you’re selfish.

…and if you’d rather be watching Flipper, why are you still here?

Let Fox not air it. That “fair and balanced” facade will finally be out for all to see.

  174. kdgamergirl says:

Oh and if I recall RC you said you’re a disabled veteran correct? Guess who’s paying for your health care? Guess that makes you a socialist for accepting! Oh noes!

  175. flight says:

I ask proud a simple question. He couldn’t give me a simple answer. I am shocked!
I think he is a secret Rush admirer.
    That explains the rants.

    Disappointed, flight

All Internet Republicans are combat veterans and small business owners. Didn’t you realize that by now?

    Nothing secret about it.

IF they want to claim it is in ANY way a free market YES auction it off for the ROYALTIES. A percentage of what it is worth to THEM.

  180. MrBrown says:

Well, its easier to prepare baseless ad-hominem attacks if you dont watch…right?

Because FOX hates the MSM so much, there’s no way they will tune into any of those stations. Therefor, you know they wont watch, or have a base for their critiques.

  181. id8 says:

    Fox News is covering Obama.
Bring up your game please TP?
An entire thread here of folks making fools of themselves, courtesy of your pleasant little disinfo bit up there.

We need serious contenders, not more disinformation,
    not more BS please.

Bring up your game, or become irrelevant outside of your little circus tent.

  182. rightwing-leftwing says:

Traciest – Don’t watch it. Then move to North Korea and STFU you xenophobe.

  183. rightwing-leftwing says:

Dear Tracist, Your parents lied to you. There is no Sanata Clause or Easter Bunnie or Tooth Ferry.

  184. rightwing-leftwing says:

Well thank you for that information. I will try to remember that after I enjoy basking in the Democratic “Messiah Majority”.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! See ya in 2012 b!tches!

  185. Don't Be A Jackass says:

Who cares about the “significance” of Obama’s first 100 days anyway

  186. Don't Be A Jackass says:

Obama has many press (teleprompter) conferences. Who other than CNN and MSNBC could possibly keep up with all of them?
