I was in shock to hear Senator Spector switching sides. However there is something that most don't recognize and that is he is leaving because his party was hijacked by the Rightwing Puppy Kickers of the Republicans.

The way I see it there are moderates on both sides of the isle, my impression is that moderates are generally in the middle. But that the Rightwing is trying very hard to kick anyone that is moderate out. Simply put, purify the party, which will hurt them!
-----------------------------------------------

Hey Tracy, it is amazing how you are foaming at the mouth about the spending that is going on right now, especially when it comes to the money that is being spent on the two wars that the Moron Bush Jr. got us into....something along the lines of "12 billion plus" every month. But hey, ya know it is for a good cause considering that we invaded Iraq and never caught Bin Ladin.

You are soooo worried about your childrens future, I wonder if you gave any thought to that when the Moron decided to take us into Iraq and Afghanistan without a plan!

My question is, where were you over the last eight years with the Moron Bush Jr. in office, standing and waving the flag and saying what a good job he has done! It seems that for you people that money wasn't the problem, and now it is...interesting!!!!

Tracy__5 Says:

Did you listen to any of his Chicago radio interview?

Yeah. He's not saying what you think he's saying there. That's a specific point of law he's talking about, not actual transfer payments. There's no mechanism for the judiciary to mandate something that would be so complicated to manage. But go ahead and make up whatever you like, if you like.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

Impossible, because you will be dead and buried by then.

How very Kruschev of you.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

You have no defence of the BS spending and tax hikes and all you guys can do is come up with some perverted sexual innuendo? That's pathetic.

Yet again, you're the ones who used the sexual innuendo. We merely pointed out how ludicrous it was for you to use a widely known sexual innuendo.

If you don't like it, then stop naming your protests and groups after sex acts.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

"My crystal ball prediction: the next time an extremist right-wing group commits a major terrorist attack during Obama's term (and they will) they'll also make a clumsy attempt to frame Arab-Americans for it."

I will bet you right here and now it doesn't happen.

Happened the last time you guys were out of the White House. And now you're already talking about "taking up arms" and "seceding" and "militias" again - exactly like the last time you were out of the White House. What's changed? Why should we expect you to behave yourselves this time, when you're showing no signs that you intend to?

What were all the news channels and the FBI saying for 3 days after Oklahoma City? That it was probably Muslims done it. Whatever wingnut is the first to actually take your politicians words seriously and kills a lot of people will want to add to that suspicion. Maybe he'll see it as kicking Obama's butt to prosecute the GWOT with more torture and less international cooperation, more like Bush. But it won't take much to lure investigators off track, at least for a while.

ralph the wonder locust Says:

Devastating riposte!

Has nothing to do with my post, but TRacist was able to claim it was "about nothing". That must have required some brain power.

I think he's got a text-generator for this stuff.

.

Levi the Dungbeetle Says:

So you get the democrats to spend money in their primary against a Republican pretending to be a Democrat, and then the Democrats have to spend money again against another Republican in the main election.

How do Democrats spend money in the primary against a Republican? I bet he made sure the DNCC would back him before he jumped. Hell, the Dems were already more likely to give him support than Steele's RNCC would have.

.

republicans hate facts Says:

She had nothing but lies, hate and ridicule for Hillary and cried like a stuck pick when I called her out for her Hypocrisy.

Oh, go cry in your PUMA tote bag... sheesh.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

Those are the only two Obama thinks will work.

No. Only wingnuts propose that we must either torture or coddle.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

That was CNN and MSNBC. Prove your assertion.

Okay.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

I expected you not childishly think about something you know had absolutely nothing to do with the protests. It's kinda like when on Bevis and Butthead (I know you know who these two are) when someone would say "wood" and they would get all giddy and stupid.

It's more than that. Don't expect us to act like grown-ups when you start throwing your upcoming "tossed salad" protests.

I'll throw this warning in for free. Go tell your freeper friends.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

"What do you know? Your militia friends drawing up plans about now?"

No, that would be your al Qaeda friends.

*ahem*

NO U!

My crystal ball prediction: the next time an extremist right-wing group commits a major terrorist attack during Obama's term (and they will) they'll also make a clumsy attempt to frame Arab-Americans for it.

Tracy__5 Says:

But the true government "elitists" are in control of the government now. Their MO is to control the masses and make everyone the sam

Nope, that was you guys. 100% party-line votes, again and again. No dissent to your President's policies, even though you're coming out of the woodwork now. Systematically purging anybody who expresses a slightly variant opinion. We don't work that way, in case you hadn't noticed. That's why we're mopping the floor with y'all right now.

.

Tracy__5 Says:

No, but they weren't GOVERNMENT elitists.

Now you're narrowing what kinds of elitists you're against, huh? Interesting. Let me know when you're the only one left.

Wow, so many updates...

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum commented on Specter's decision in Politico's Arena:

It is a huge blow to the Republican's ability to moderate any of Obama's very liberal proposals.

1) If Obama's proposals need "moderating," centrist or blue-dog Democrats have way more power than Republicans. Obama isn't listening to the Republicans. He tried to "moderate his proposals" during the stimulus bill hearing, and the R's delivered zero votes in return.

2) Like most of the current voices of the Republican party today, Santorum is not an elected official.

.

In his statement, Specter reaffirms his opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act: "Unlike Senator Jeffords’ switch which changed party control, I will not be an automatic 60th vote for cloture. For example, my position on Employees Free Choice (Card Check) will not change."

There's a biiig difference between voting against something and voting against cloture on it. You can vote for cloture and against a bill, and still go on record to your voters as being against the bill. To vote against cloture requires caucus organization.

.

RNC Chairman Michael Steele put out a statement saying that "some in the Republican Party are happy about this. I am not."

That's because the number of seats gained or lost is the measure of your job performance. Which is why Howard Dean is "da man," and you are not.

.

Steele then claimed that "Specter didn’t leave the GOP based on principles of any kind," but because he couldn't win in the GOP primary "due to his left-wing voting record."

Assuming that Senators vote according to their principles, those are the exact same thing. Does Steele not vote his principles?

.

Statement from NRSC Chairman John Cornyn (R-TX): "Senator Specter's decision today represents the height of political self-preservation. While this presents a short-term disappointment, voters next year will have a clear choice to cast their ballots for a potentially unbridled Democrat super-majority versus the system of checks-and-balances that Americans deserve."

in other words, "we're combing the woods to find the loonies, frothing-at-the-mouth psycho freak to put forward in the next primary against him. Because the only reason we have to give you to vote for us is to prevent the (reasonable, effective, responsible and responsive) Democratic party from getting a solid lock on Congress."

Oh by the way, "not having a supermajority" is not a "checks-and-balances" issue. That's not in the Constitution at all. There's no law that guarantees your party at least 41 Senators.

So trace refuses to comment on the fact that the Republicans lost 4% of their members in the last month to now have 21% say they are Republican. What's the matter trace? Do you think if you ignore facts they will go away?

"The funny thing is that the Reichwhiners are so dependent on fear that they make shit up to be afraid of."

Oh, Tracist, you've got your talking points backwards.

For the last 8 years all I've heard from the republicans, including the republicans in my own family, was that I should "get behind the President", "support the President".

That's all I heard.

So now I'm behind the President, and they're condemning me for that, telling me it's wrong to support him.

Which is quite confusing.

:|

Until at least you figure out that what they really meant was that I should get behind "THEIR" President, and no one else's.

He is not a communist. He is not a socialist.

He is for free enterprise, which is why he is funding federal contracts to hire contractors to stimulate the economy.

There isn't even a hint of any sort of communistic or socialistic even share in any of his doctrine.

You should stop lying, confess your sins to your priest or pastor, and ask God and your fellow man for forgiveness for bearing false witness and attempting to deceive.

Last time I looked the Boston Tea party in 1773 was in response to the British government trying to impose it's will over it's (sic) colonies NOT an independent nation...yet. Same thing with these current Tea Parties. Tracy__5 Says:

Did you even listen to the part where he is suprised that the courts have not gotten into enforcing wealth redistribution? Wealth redistribution is exactly trying to make everyone the same.

Do you ever get tired of just lying?

Seriously, you guys love to sit in church, pat yourselves on the back while talking of honor, country, God, etc.

So don't you ever get tired of having to lie to sell your party?

:|

In your wildest dreams, do you think a man who made 1.6 million dollars in one year has even the remotest inkling of making "everyone the same"?

Your lies about President Obama being a communist are against your country, and they are the lies of a traitor.

It's time for you to stop lying Tracy, and get behind your President and your country.
