AmericaBlog’s John Aravosis notes significant edits made recently to the Civil Rights page on the whitehouse.gov website that seem to signal “a shift in policy, and a backward step from a clear campaign promise” to repeal the military’s discriminatory “don’t ask don’t tell” (DADT) policy. The website used to emphasize Obama’s firm commitment to repealing the discriminatory policy:
President Obama agrees with former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff John Shalikashvili and other military experts that we need to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve. Discrimination should be prohibited. The U.S. government has spent millions of dollars replacing troops kicked out of the military because of their sexual orientation. Additionally, more than 300 language experts have been fired under this policy, including more than 50 who are fluent in Arabic. The President will work with military leaders to repeal the current policy and ensure it helps accomplish our national defense goals.
However, after changes apparently made last night, the previous full, earnest paragraph was slashed to one half of a sentence promoting only “changing” the law “in a sensible way”:
[Obama] supports changing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell in a sensible way that strengthens our armed forces and our national security, and also believes that we must ensure adoption rights for all couples and individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation.
The edits seem to be Obama’s latest attempt to walk back his firm campaign promise to outright repeal the anti-gay policy. His 2010 budget included funding to enforce the policy; Defense Secretary Robert Gates recently admitted that a discussion about repeal “has really not progressed very far at this point in the administration,” and that it hoped to “push that one down the road a little bit.”
In this, Obama is out of touch with the mainstream. In fact, a poll released just yesterday showed that 56 percent of Americans, including 50 percent of military families, favor repealing DADT. (A poll last year found that 75 percent support gays serving openly in the military.) An even stronger majority — 58 percent — “reject” the argument that changing the law would be “divisive.”
-- The Iraq page was deleted and replaced with a single paragraph on the foreign policy page.-- Like many issues pages the civil rights page was dramatically cut. 756 words devoted to supporting the LGBT community have been replaced with two sentences.
-- And nearly all issues pages now begin with a mini-progress report detailing what Barack has done for you.
What’s “Langauge“?
May 1st, 2009 at 2:43 pmPresident Obama: don’t whisper, SHOUT!
May 1st, 2009 at 2:44 pmRelax. We have a majority on this issue. This is likely in response to the latest poll that showed 50% of Americans with family members in the military agree with us and Obama.
Why spend any more capital on it? This is a stroll around the bases.
May 1st, 2009 at 2:46 pmVery unfortunate. I’d like to know who are the key influencers right now on the President, because obviously it ain’t the people.
He needs to address this one soon, in my book. It just looks ridiculous given the fact that other developed countries have openly gay service members for some years. This is another one where the U.S. just comes out looking like a laughing stock. The ignorance on this issue is astounding.
May 1st, 2009 at 2:49 pmI have faith it’ll get repealed. It’s rediculous policy. I remember when I was enlisting having to sign contracts about this policy. Was a bit much :(
May 1st, 2009 at 2:54 pmHopefully this is nothing more than an attempt to save space on the website but I can see NO downside to letting the administration know that we are watching and that after FISA expect not to be so casually disappointed in the future.
May 1st, 2009 at 2:55 pmSigning statements , warrantless wire tapping ,arguing against Habeas corpus and stopping cases from proceeding on torture and rendition are troubling .
http://www.1115.org/2009/04/30/presidential-prevarication-still-alive-and-well/
Here’s the poll:
We could have a bar of soap for president right now and we’d still have this one in the bag.
The poll also shows that Americans are sick of hearing about these issues, since they’ve already accept gay rights. So, if Obama continues to push this as if he’s behind, it only plays into the right’s hands, letting them rile their base.
DADT will be murdered in its sleep.
Heh.
May 1st, 2009 at 2:59 pmwell, i like your optimism Jaimymoore. I’m sure DADT will end, and I guess it’s just a matter of expediency. I like that the poll really does point to this issue not being effectively used by the right in a culture war kind of way.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:03 pmI think the left has to learn to transition from being behind on this issue to being ahead. You can alienate a lot of people by continuing to push after you’ve won, and pretending like LGBT issues now are like African-American issues in the 1950’s alienates a lot of people.
Besides, using band-wagon language (i.e., talking like you’ve already won the issue) is very frustrating to the other side. You’ll notice (e.g., the NOM commercial) that the other side has already adopted victim language wholesale.
They are the past. They are dying. We have already won.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:07 pmsorry O/T
There is some serious whack-a-troll needed at the ABC website story about the two professional torture experts hired by CIA.
It’s getting out of hand. They are quoting and linking to ‘facts’ that indicate waterboarding is not torture.

May 1st, 2009 at 3:09 pmPresident Obama has gotten lots of push back from inside the military. Pentagon Chief Bob Gates suggested kicking the can down the road. The White House web site confirms that.
I now resolve not to believe election promises. They’re offered in the heat of the campaign.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:09 pmThe issue isn’t won until the policy is changed.
There are instances of the vast majority of people wanting something and the government taking no action.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:10 pmThe Obama meter :
May 1st, 2009 at 3:12 pmhttp://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/browse/
Well, to be fair, on this issue, the majority of victories have yet to be won. I don’t understand what you mean to continue to push after you’ve won, do you mean the initial judicial and legistlative victories?
I’ll totally agree about the all too casual connection with African American civil rights activism. There’s parallels, but there was and is too often a direct comparison that is disrespectful and insulting. I would also argue here that on the other side of the coin, I have seen many in black communities who are claiming ownership of civil rights activism, and are resentful of any language to that effect. I think that’s unfair.
NOM’s victim language is familiar and was readily accessible from evangelical Christians who’ve always had a narrative of victimization when their moral structure is not held up as the law of the land.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:13 pmElection promises are like water om Mars, its there — but seldom seen.

May 1st, 2009 at 3:14 pmDon’t ask why Obama is not very progressive and I won’t tell you. He’s a milquetoast liberal in corporate clothing.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:20 pmYes, but NOM went even further, saying that doctors etc. were the victims rather than a generic Christian victimization.
I’m not telling anyone to be satisfied with where things are. You’ve struggled with bigotry, I mostly haven’t. All I’m saying is that this is not evidence of an about-face by the administration, which is always auditing its political capital, and which we know approaches policymaking from a behaviorist perspective.
This is how you soft pedal an issue when you have time and demographics on your side and polls show the tide has already turned … in a few short years.
What we need now are rightwingers attacking ordinary gays who are minding their own business, while states like Iowa and Maine go for gay rights. That’s a lose-lose for the right. If they open their mouths, they’re bigots. If they don’t act, they’re losing ground.
Crushed.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:20 pmthank mcgyver i voted for hillary in the primaries. she would have known better.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:21 pmHillary’s core demo was older, whiter, rust-belt bound, and less educated. Obama led in every demo category that is
1) a strength for the Democrats
2) is growing in America
Hillary is the past for the party. If you want to build the party for the next generation, Obama was the only way to go.
Seriously, folks. Both parties faced insurgency candidates because the whole country is pissed off at the political class. The GOP shut out their insurgent candidate and lost their base support (which is why they had to go with Palin). Why in the hell would you back an establishment candidate at such a time, ESPECIALLY one with a dead-end demographic like Hillary? You’d be playing to your weaknesses twice over.
I’m to the left of Obama, and I don’t trust Christians, but he’s the best card we have to play and he’ll pay off long after I’m dead.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:26 pmI hope he changes it quietly while the right is freaking out about his Supreme Court nominations.
Let’s give the right so much to be enraged about that they don’t know where to turn.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:29 pmYeah, I can go for that. When there’s been oppression of communities of people for so long, it’s really hard to go all pragmatist/incrementalist in your strategy- especially one like this. I have been enjoying the strategy games Obama has played in a few areas, and this might be one. The whole website thing shouldn’t be met with alarmism, I agree.
Besides, we all know what this poll and many others are saying: the younger generation just doesn’t think this issue is an issue at all. We’ll see lots of flailing and fearmongering from a demographic of people on their way out, and that’s how things go :)
May 1st, 2009 at 3:29 pmI predict that the end of DADT will be announced on a Friday, leaving no room in the news cycle for the bigots’ outrage.
Monday rolls around and the press will be chasing a different ball.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:31 pmThis should be a no-brainer. I can’t believe that weaseling and waffling are still going on.
Geez — was there this much political silliness going on when Truman integrated the military in 1948?
May 1st, 2009 at 3:31 pmOh yeah, and NOM’s misinformation involving doctors and whatnot is something fundamentalists do all the time too. They rarely stick to any “generic” complaint, and have no qualms about deception and distortion of facts. The hypocrisy is obvious and really thick, but you know these “ends justify the means” people…
May 1st, 2009 at 3:32 pmIt needs to be repealed but this new administration would be stupid not to be VERY careful with this.
BS wedge issues like this rile up the republican base and hand them mid-term victories like in 94.
The culture has changed a damned lot since then, but it would seriously suck if we blew this HUGE win by spending too much capital on this.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:32 pmUnfortunately, Yes.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:32 pmI’ll make this real simple: the poll I cited above shows that the people who are with us aren’t all het up about the issue. The bigot minority is very excitable about the issue.
Therefore, if you make a big deal out of changing DADT, especially in the run up, you are leveraging the bigots’ minority for them. If you do it gradually and quietly, the bigots get nothing.
Now, I personally am going to loooooooooooooooooooooooove smearing this one in the bigots’ faces ’till the day I die. It shows that THIS IS NOT THEIR COUNTRY ANY MORE.
But you know what? Obama’s job is not to humiliate the people I hate. He’s not in the entertainment industry. It’s his job to be effective. So, he can do the slow pedaling and I’m going to do the gloating.
[gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat gloat]
May 1st, 2009 at 3:39 pm[Obama] supports changing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell in a sensible way that strengthens our armed forces and our national security
Just as the public is finally catching on, the myth is perpetuated again with this statement that being openly gay hurts unit readiness. It reads as if a challenge exists to “work around that.” Fact is, it isn’t a challenge to unit readiness. It’s only a challenge for the clubby types, the good ‘ole boys, and frankly, if the clubby types don’t like it they can leave. Too much bigotry consumes them anyway to have skills worthy to uphold unit readiness if they’re willing to break at sexual orientation.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:39 pmFrom the poll I cited:
…
Play it slow and win. Play it hard and your support will melt away while the opposition is galvanized.
Do you want to win?
May 1st, 2009 at 3:45 pmThe public is coming around, jaimymoore, and that revised statement doesn’t reflect their increasingly tolerant views. The original statement was on track. We lobbied the Obama administration not to drop torture matter, and though he hasn’t appointed a special prosecutor he has directed the AG/Ethics Office to investigate. We will do the same here. When the economy recovers, they have a responsibility to right these wrongs. I’ll see to it they won’t try then to “kick the can” further.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:47 pmneoparasite is back to beg us for more pity. He is stupid, he is pathetic he is a parasitic troll piece of shite. Leading with his impressive stupid he is all about saying look at how stupid and pathetic I am, give me some attention. For GOD sake get some self respect cretin. We get that you are a pathetic loser that no one wants to be near. We get your lonely loser life is sad, dismal and pathetic. You begging us to pity you day after day is just boring. Go do something about how pathetic you are instead of trying to get us to pity you because of it.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:48 pmIt’s a slippery slope to not be able to discriminate against anybody. Soon everybody will expect equal protection under the law.
The fight seems to be over the last group people can openly discriminate against, and so they’ve fighting hard to discriminate against every aspect of their lives: marriage, kids, serving their country, and whatever else is convenient to demonize.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:49 pmjaimy, have at it with your “playing hard” talk. To me your coming off as a concern troll.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:49 pmYou’ve gotta be kidding.
This whole post is an example of concern trolling. They’re concerned (get this) that the language on a website has been weakened … at a time when the whole damned thing has been updated.
Or do you just not know what “concern troll” means?
May 1st, 2009 at 3:51 pmLets teach being gay is good in kindergarten.
I think we should have all gay outfits patrolling and looking for roadside bombs together.
But dont mix young people in a combat zone. If some homo looked at me and wanted to suck my c**k after I nearly got killed. Id push him away and report him.
But an 18 year old kid might just put a bullet in his eyes for disrepecting boundaries.
You got to respect boundaries, it just doesnt work.
Not yet at least. The gay agenda has gotten good at getting to children in preschool and beyond and pretty soon most young people wont think that having sex with your same-sex playmate is wrong after their failure of parents let them sit on the internet b/c they dont want to parent or hire a babysitter.
They are bound to see lesiban and homo stuff and not know if it is right or wrong.
So then they grow up confused and then they act like bisexuals at parties in college to get attention they so crave
And I am right b/c I am a God sent from the Sun who will lead you after armageddon
May 1st, 2009 at 3:52 pmYou’re too pushy, jaimy. TP is comparing one statement to the other. The revised statement is weaker, and frankly an insult to GLBT servicemen and women.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:55 pmAnd there’s a 51% majority that supports that move.
Your point?
Obama doesn’t have to push that one, either. It’s already under investigation in the Senate (Feinstein’s committee, closed-door) and Leahy takes it from there. In the meantime, we continue to work on public opinion with lots of nasty pictures.
Win.
I’m a cynic. I’m absolutely loving Obama’s pretense about investigating this thing “reluctantly.” It’s a way of disarming the countercharge of partisanship, which is why that countercharge isn’t working.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:56 pmAlready on it.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:58 pmDamastertroll-
breathtaking. thank you for reminding us of the lowest common denominator. We were dying to be reminded of all that ignorance and paranoia. My favorite part was the military fantasy in the 1st paragraph. But please don’t feel the need to respond. We’d only keep you from simultaneously trolling on progressive websites and checking out Craigslist m4m.
May 1st, 2009 at 3:58 pmFrom the mouths of children. They bully kids they think are gay. Its because they know the truth that it is wrong and it is genetic.
The fact that the culture of America is so laden with marketing the LGBT lifestyle only older sheeple turn gay.
The kids, know its wrong from birth. Leave the children alone, dont start indoctrinating children in govt schools paid by taxpayers. Have your own gay schools if you think your kid is gay. dont spread the cancer
May 1st, 2009 at 4:02 pmYes, and they’re characterizing that change in language as a change in policy, which is stupid.
Here’s TP:
Here’s TP quoting single-issue blogger (and former Republican campaign worker) John Aravosis:
Emphasis mine, stupidity theirs.
Really, there are 27 pages of promises on polifact.com, and most of them show no progress yet. This is a step back?
Finally, how is this statement from Obama an “insult” to anyone?

May 1st, 2009 at 4:07 pmWhat the hell happened to “principles over politics”, Mr. Obama? Let’s take a trip in Peabody’s Wayback Machine, shall we?
It’s the 1960s and the Civil Rights Movement is in full swing. President Johnson is considering pushing for equal rights for all and the end of legal racism because it is the right thing to do.
But oh no, he and the Democratic Party may lose the DixieCrats in the process! So he dials back his plans to grant all human beings equal rights and tells them to “Sit in the back of the bus and shut up, be happy you’re allowed to ride!”
But that didn’t happen and our nation instead took a huge leap forward in terms of progress.
Mr. President, do the right thing. We pay your salary and we pay the salaries of our servie members and we say it’s okay for gays to serve!
PEACE
May 1st, 2009 at 4:07 pmI might be crazy, but this looks like it might signal that some progress is being made. Like, back-door discussions are underway and they felt the need to modify the public language about it in order to sell it to the masses. We’re not “repealing” it, we’re “modifying” it… Kind of like when Republicans talk about “reforming” government programs (they really mean “eliminate”). In this case, the change in language may suggest that they’re getting ready to take a forward step.

May 1st, 2009 at 4:17 pmsee wags, now you’ve given a false sense of solidarity. connecting homosexual-related issues to sexual acts is often the domain of ignorant and insecure types like damastertroll. I think if it ever came to that, well we know you deviants already snatch children and abuse and murder them. But when it gets really bad, I think 90% of parents will just shoot you with a shotgun and your velvet friends lol.
The only power you have is in your mind. Fundamental truths of right and wrong will stay the same, mainly b/c of genetics. Most people are genetically programmed that you should be friends with the same sex you are and then have a relationship with the opposite sex.
So anything you delude yourself into thinking is just plain wrong. This is what is deeply ingrained in all animals, human or otherwise.
And you cant change genetics as fast as you turn on some perverted tv show.
Of course there is learning and thats why most of the recent gay people are gay. They just fell for the marketing hype. But that is not an argument against true gays, its more an argument against sheeple. Which the USA has a lot of.
Tell them that the ipod is awesome they will buy it. Oprah says its cool to turn into a lesbian at 50, surprise, surprise, you have a bunch of sheeple 50 year old new lesbians.
To not understand the pattern is silly. Just leave the children alone. Dont molest them, dont kidnap them, dont indoctrinate them.
If at age 18 they want to be deviants, they can. At age 18 I did alot of hallucinogens. Didnt hurt me none! Let them experiemnt with whatever, wont hurt them! Just leave them alone til 18

BRILLIANT DEDUCTIONS! From those of you on the left with no sense of humor. Any moron would see I was being well, facetious with that comment about doing hallucinogens at age 18 and didnt affect me none so let people be deviants.

May 1st, 2009 at 4:48 pm– No one is interested in arguing. I am suggesting a discussion about a topic. See just trying to be annoying isn’t really a free speech thing. Sure you are free to do it but it just screams out negative attention seeking. Why not have a focused discussion about a topic and share with us all your keen insights in a normal adult manner? Will you not or can you not?
WOW WOW WOW guys
I just got an invite to the Hannity show and also Severin when he goes back on air and Limbaugh!
WTF? I hate these guys, but soo going on it. Never been to New York before!
What do you guys think i should ask on their show? I am asked to explained my experience on a liberal web blog. Guess which one?
All expenses paid trip.
So guys, help me out. I want to hold their nuts to the flame, what should I ask
May 1st, 2009 at 4:49 pmI think the first question will be as hard hitting hardball as Barbara Walters asking Obama in his first prime time interview. If he was a tree, what tree would he be (assuming he could be a tree)!>
What other things should I ask next week explaining talking to you fellows?
i don’t know. now I’m just getting distracted by so much stupidity in every post. It’s like scattershot, and you can’t address it all, but it’s still there.
it’s sad. the trajectory of a blog thread always goes downhill the second a genius like damastertroll comes in, proud to have disrupted adult conversation.
Jaimy- the imagery is complicated by the arrogance of moral conservatism- the entitlement to come to a progressive blog- spit out a lot of offensive rhetoric, and then claim to only be a valuable contribution to an intelligent debate… how does that all factor in?
May 1st, 2009 at 4:50 pmIndeed Realness!
Please excuse me as I mean no disrespect but they are chimps and not monkeys though. Are you familiar with bonobo “pe nis fencing”?

May 1st, 2009 at 4:51 pmSorry Realness. This one seems to have ended up in Carousel… I suppose the name for the male meber is worse than if I had typed twat asslick ballsack or something offensive
Some inbred cracker porch-monkey talking about genetics and writing foxhole homoerotica. Freakshow!
Indeed. With SUCH amazing confidence too. He’s just so smart and brave for coming into internet-land and sharing his wisdom to a group of people who never even asked for it! it must be the paint chips he done ate when he was playing behind the trailer…
May 1st, 2009 at 4:53 pmDon’t make the mistake of taking it seriously. The offensive rhetoric is cover for not having an argument. Whining about serious debate is their response to being mocked.
First, we gawk at them, then we pwn them, then we laugh at them, then we laugh at them some more.
Are they good for anything else?
May 1st, 2009 at 4:54 pmah shoot, now I see why you put that space in pe nis.
um, is it bad to google pe nis fencing at work?
May 1st, 2009 at 4:54 pmI’m gonna go with a solid “maybe” on that one.
May 1st, 2009 at 4:59 pmDbadass:
looked it up!
whoa. so creative!
May 1st, 2009 at 4:59 pmProbably Realness. Better do so from home and better add bonobo to the search. Very interesting behavior. A strong case can be made that had the bonobo been discovered first rather than the chimp humanity might view itself far less like the descendent of a male agression dominated blood thirsty ape.
I once google fecal analysis for a project I was doing on shifts in the compostion of the diets of bats from work. It ended up fine but I had some ’splaining” to do
May 1st, 2009 at 5:00 pmThe sellout began the day after inauguration day!

Dude, you just have to f**king laugh man, not take these things seriously no more. If they let the govt take away our sense of humor then everyone is screwed.
I treat gay patients and their spouses with absolutely the same professionalism I would anyone else.
I lived in Capitol Hill which is the gay capital of the northwest and a second San Fran.
Im not going to say alot of my friends were gay when I lived there but I will say if I swung a cat, Id hit a gay person.
So who cares, and making fun of all this stuff on the internet is funny.
I do believe that it is not a civil right like being born black etc…
Its not that and most science agrees with that. It is a product of learning and enculturation. Moreso with girls easily influenced to perform lesbian acts to arouse men and please them.
To not say THAT is wrong is just wrong. To say that if you are 25 or so and decide to be with another person of the same sex. That is ok.
But LGBT want access to the highschools and junior high to start clubs. And even ABC news said they want to start teaching gay tolerance in kindergarten to prevent bullying.
When government mandates kids go to school or face imprisonment. They have to be duely cautious on issues like this given communist models in North Korea and China.
Some topics should be left to the parents, even if you disagree with them,b/c then if you disagree and you limit them. Then this is not the USA anymore
Its a slippery slope taking away rights and creating fantasy rights for people whose sexuality cant be determined and it changes. Look at hollywood for those who switched sides for fame, lost fame switched back, switched again etc…
Selfserving interest helped them gain money and exploit truly gay people.
OF which I fully believe there are genetically gay people, but most are posers for money or emotional neediness later in life
May 1st, 2009 at 5:07 pmdbadass-
that’s too funny! I work in PR, and I’m actually not shocked by what comes up in the Google history search tab. It doesn’t appear to be completely PR-related :)
May 1st, 2009 at 5:13 pmSee now we can have a focused conversation. Genetics may not really be what you mean. Are you suggesting a “gay gene”?
May 1st, 2009 at 5:14 pmand you know… I wonder if your idea about bonobo/chimpanzee affiliation is right. It could be a chicken or the egg argument. Humans have for a long time formed their culturual biases and THEN looked for affirmation in nature. We always want to know we’re just being natural. It’s an interesting thought.
May 1st, 2009 at 5:15 pmRealness you may wish to investigate the work of Joan Roughgarden who may or may not still be at Stamford. Her book Evolution’s Rainbow is interesting and controversial. I feel there are many insightful aspect to her ideas but her personal history makes her a lightening rod which is sort of unfortunate.

Seek professional help fast. You will be banned again and your posts scrubbed because they are garbage. You cannot improve your sad, pathetic lonely life by trolling websites and begging for attention. You are pathetic. You will remain pathetic til you do something about your sad pathetic life and wasting time here posting SHITE no one cares about and soon no one will see is not helping you. Haldol, Mellowrill, A psychiatrist. A friend hell get a cat for goodness sake but do something about how pathetic you are rather than trying fruitlessly to annoy us. You are too stupid to pull it off anyway
May 1st, 2009 at 6:16 pmThe military is a top down organization and it is clearly perpetuating stereotypes and allowing abuse. The problem with rape in the military is a problem because military leaders allow it to be a problem. Same with the gay issue. There is no reason for any kind of harassment or harm in a military population to be more prevalent than it is in the general population. The big-dick military machismo culture is perpetuated from the top down. It could be changed drastically, overnight, with military discipline.
May 1st, 2009 at 7:02 pmClinton pulled the same stunt. He promised to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly and ended up implementing DADT, which is worse than the previous policy. He also signed the Defense of Marriage Act, a stab in the back to his gay supporters.
Obama’s looking more and more like Clinton: another narcissistic, opportunistic, Machiavellian center-right politician. He’s even loaded his administration with Clintonites.
When’s Monica Lewinsky coming on board?

Like we’re supposed to tell which foolish thing you say is supposed to be serious, which is just to annoy people, which is due to your admitted LSD hallucination and which are jokes? We don’t have a Dewey Decimal system custom-made to file your bullshit.

I have no need to shut down this site, notice I still have free speech. I talked to the people who run this blog and they agree after reviewing my posts that I am an asset and I offer a true differing opinion that is a value to the community.
This is a lie. When you were brothabazillion you were explaining how you use an IP proxy to avoid being banned by IP, then you created a new account.

May 2nd, 2009 at 12:40 amTo those who counsel patience, and relax, and that Obama is on the side of liberals, I saw show me the money.
Let me tell you what I think is going on. No, I don’t think it, I know it. It’s been going on since the DLC took over the party in the late 1980s. When Al Fromm and Bill Clinton and Joe Lieberman started moving the party to the right, in order to attract more Republicans to the party. Moderate Republicans.
The farther right the Republican party moves, the more alienated moderate Republicans become. They are having one heckuva time taking back control over the Republican party, which is the price they paid when they made that pact with the Christian Coalition and Ralph Reed. Republican politicians just wanted to use the Christian Coalition for their votes, but the evangelical voters liked the power they have as a voting bloc and took over control of the party.
Now, the DLC wants moderate Republicans to leave the Republican Party and join the Democratic Party, but they won’t do it with the liberal base firmly ensconced in the Democratic Party. The DLC’s plan, Obama’s and just about all elected Democrats are signed on to it, is to marginalize the liberal base, drive the base out. The closer it gets to the elections, both in 2010 and especially in 2012, liberal issues will be dropped entirely. The more we, the liberal base, squawk, the better it plays for Obama because he and the DLC believe Republican voters will like him more.
In order for the DLC to achieve their ends, Obama can’t leave Iraq or Afghanistan or else Republicans will campaign on more fear campaigns, and how we’re not safe. Obama won’t end Don’t Ask Don’t if it means he risks Republican voters sticking with Republicans.
And Democrats in Congress won’t do anything that will cause their corporate patrons to halt the campaign contributions. Towards that end, we will be bled to death with usurious credit card fees and banking fees, and foreclosures and job losses, and that serves the corporate class because we have no money to create another internet challenger to Obama and DLC Dems.
May 2nd, 2009 at 12:55 amRemember, Obama’s a Constitutional law professor. I think he’s got a pretty specific idea of exactly what kind of person he should appoint, and it won’t be one influenced by his experience as a politician (which is relatively short).

Funny, that’s how I view “conservatism” and Republicansim.
It’s a genetic trait (one might say ‘defect’) to quest for self-satisfaction at the expense of other Americans. The majority of Republican (and some Democratic) leaders embrace severe hypocrisy as they pillory extending individual rights for all Americans and impose their extreme beliefs on others, just because they are mistaken about their own “rightness”.
May 2nd, 2009 at 6:30 pmI’m for outting all gays. Then, if we have mostly gay enlisting, what a gang party that would be. In Afghanistan, amongst those poppy fields, what a blast!
