Limbaugh agrees with Sessions: Obama’s ‘objective is unemployment.’

Earlier today, ThinkProgress highlighted NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions’ (R-TX) claim that President Obama is intentionally trying to “‘diminish employment and diminish stock prices‘ as part of a ‘divide and conquer’ strategy to consolidate power.” Sessions’ paranoid theory got a powerful endorsement today from the de facto leader of the conservative movement, Rush Limbaugh. Noting new budget deficit projections out of the White House, Limbaugh declared that “the objective is unemployment.” “Think forced reparations here if you want to understand what actually is going on,” added the right-wing talker. Listen here:

Transcript:

LIMBAUGH: As the economy performs worse than expected, the deficit for the 2010 budget year beginning in October will worsen by $87 billion to $1.3 trillion. The deterioration reflects lower tax revenues and higher costs for bank failures, unemployment benefits and food stamps. But in the Oval Office of the White House none of this is a problem. This is the objective. The objective is unemployment. The objective is more food stamp benefits. The objective is more unemployment benefits. The objective is an expanding welfare state. And the objective is to take the nation’s wealth and return to it to the nation’s quote, “rightful owners.” Think reparations. Think forced reparations here if you want to understand what actually is going on.

And I hope Limpballs is the first to go.

  2. robbez_92107 says:

I sure hope this is the new Wingnut talking point.

Forced reparations? How very Southern of Rush.

Sessions & Limbaugh: Racists are as racists do.

  5. Sandoz76 says:

Do any of the slugs that listen to him ever wonder why that would be someone’s objective? Do these guys just drool and nod without ever wondering what sense any of this makes?

Funny how the right is so concerned with allowing people to pursue wealth but utterly disinterested in allowing them to pursue education or health.

  6. DavidHart says:

All of this moonbattery would hardly be worth discussing, let alone disproving, were it not for the fact that Limbaugh is taken so very seriously by so many incurious people.

  7. Buckie Boy says:

Of course only those who are infected with “teh stupid” will believe this crap.

Rush don’t you have a date with a little Dominican Underaged Prostitute?

  8. DRxJapanese Beetle says:

Man I wish Oxybreath would have kidney failure!

Ha. I crack myself up, sometimes.

  9. hormiga brava chavez says:

What a big load of BS nonsense. Lambaugh and Sessions are both freaking nuts. Most people would rather go to work and provide for their families than take unemployment payments or food stamps. Unemployment payments and food stamps barely cover living expenses. Neither are easy to apply for and receive.

  10. Ape-Man says:

    Pure Projection.

  11. raynman says:

In a way, they’re right. Since Obama’s been in office, there are a lot of Republican legislators that are looking for work….

  12. Hoodathunktick says:

Pathetic. The man has a $400 million contract, his own private jet. people being laid of from the company he works for and he blames the President for wanting to be in control?

He goes and brags about his own position while the company he works for is being hit? It would serve the slob right if all of his techs said I’m going anyway so screw you Rush.

  13. texasrick says:

I know this sounds silly, but do either of these morons have ANY proof/evidence supporting their outragious assertions?

If they do it is because of the ‘little people’ who work for them.

I know the job market is tough but if there aren’t limits too how badly one would sell their soul, we really have no chance as a country.

  17. wiley says:

President Obama, please be good to the police force, and do what you can to help these poor souls get quality care when they have the big episode they are working themselves into, so that most of us will go unscathed by the stupid.

  18. hormiga brava chavez says:

And if Bush didn’t allow the economy to collapse on his watch, we wouldn’t need more unemployment benefits or food stamps. Thousands would still be employed. Was it Bush’s objective to let the economy slide into hell?

what does this fat piece of crap care about the economy for? he made his position be known the other night with his “i got mine fcuk you” comment at the heritage foundation’s nuremburg rally reenactment.

  21. spring heeled jack says:

So the countless white-folk who are receiving government assistance are getting reparations for what?

  22. EugeneDebs says:

Rush’s objective is to lie to and propagandize the stoopidest Americans imaginable. Th eonly ones that take him seriously

  23. Lunaluz says:

I am reminded of something my grandmother used to tell me….
“It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.”

She got that courtesy of Mark Twain.
    Limbaugh is such a jackass!

  24. eyeswideopen1 says:

Who cares what the gasbag in chief thinks!

  25. EugeneDebs says:

Racist Rush shows once again he is ALMOST as stupid and pathetic as some of the trolls that post here

  26. robbez_92107 says:

Is it me, or is the Rethuglican party turning into the Dixiecrat party?

  27. jjm says:

He’s just continuing to live in the realm of fantasy. Does he imagine his audience can’t remember five months ago? I agree with eyeswideopen: who cares what this gasbag thinks — if you can call what comes out of his mouth ‘thinking’

  28. misscoleopteramolly says:

Wow. Rush seems to be really upset that Obama isn’t failing as he hoped. I wonder what the next ridiculous thing he’ll make up will be?

I wonder why he didn’t have similar complaints when Bush and Cheney were beating the drums for war in order to consolidate power, form a unitary executive branch, and erode the freedoms of the American people.

  29. Winski says:

    Let’s see…Sessions + Limberger = 16 on IQ scale….

Slightly higher than a tire iron…combined….

A few days ago I questioned the intelligence of Rush listeners and FAUX watchers and someone let me know that their father or brother or someone watched them so I was wrong. I am here to tell you that is you know anyone who takes anything that comes from this over weight, drug addled, flunked out of college in one year, gas bag is an idiot and needs some counseling.

  31. Wiz says:

What is the sound kidney’s make when they fail?

  32. DeweyGland says:

Limbaugh is a drug addled fool.
I’d hate to hear him when he’s not high.

  33. stewarjt says:

Limbaugh declared that “the objective is unemployment.”

In this case, the objective was achieved while GWB was president.

  34. P.D. says:

These guys are imploding. The lastest poll shows women don’t like them, Gays and Lesbians despise them, and with all the immigrant bashing from the Conservatives, these guys are heading for extinction. Good-bye to bad rubbish.

  35. republicanSScareme says:

Rush Limbaugh is a degenerate thug like all Republicans. When will this criminal organization be outlawed and its leaders be arrested and imprisoned?

  36. spring heeled jack says:

After Saturday’s dinner, expect a shitestorm of racism from the aggrieved Boss Limbaugh. This is just the preliminary passive/aggressive sprinkle.

  37. randallh says:

I think Limbaugh has exposed himself [ more than usual ] with his “forced reparation” comment. It’s clearly implying that Obama has a secret “black” agenda which has no basis in fact [ or even speculation ].

He was spectacularly off the beam when he finished his radio show today by saying that he was predicting a tax on municipal bonds [ which I think is not consitutionally possible ] and a “weath tax” on assets already earned. He’s getting more and more deranged, making wilder and wilder accusations. And it’s bound to get worse. Somebody should put him back on the Oxicotin so he can mellow out.

If Rush was a homeless guy on a street corner or in a subway station raving the way he does on the radio, he would have been butterfly-netted and carted away long ago.

Why is it that because he’s on the radio he has more credibility?

  40. Ape-Man says:

    @13 texasrick Says:

No, they don’t use evidence or proof, ever. When one of them does produce something, it’s an elaborate hoax.

There’s a few people like rush in every crowd i guess. Unhinged from reality and blaming everyone else.

I love that man, he’s going to keep the Republic666ans in the wilderness for an eternity. With every year that passes with no change at all to the white haired, obese, white guy, racist party line people are evolving, children are growing up, immigrants are learning about our society and politics and it only makes them more marginalized. I hope they continue forever

  42. ranus69 says:

Someone needs to force Rush to fly coach?

  43. MadasHelinVA says:

Why is ANYONE even listening [especially on radio] to this disgustingly fat BLOWHARD who’s ONLY WISH is that Obama and OUR COUNTRY fail? Why can’t the neocons understand that if our country fails, they too [including Limpball] will perish as well? Haven’t they made that connection? Are they really that deranged?

  44. maxamillion says:

Rush is such a racist pig. Reparations?? Code meaning, Black man for president is going to give the poor black people all your hard earned money my white listeners.

  45. spencers mom says:

You know, it’s been a long time since I live in No. Cal and had access to the good stuff.

But listening to this “Obama wants unemployment, and plenty more of it” I have to ask, what are they smoking?

The smell of desperation is overwhelming.

    PEACE

I sometimes wonder if Bush and the Repubs DID want the economy to crash. That way they could slash government spending (except for the military of course) by sacking social programs, then privatizing everything. That way they could brag about cutting spending and make loads of money off the privatizing.

But, then they didn’t win the 2008 election so they’re left with the false accusation that Obama is raising everyone’s taxes.

  47. Xisithrus says:

    Diminish stock prices?

    As I recall, Limbaugh:

Dec 31, 2001 10021 Dow up 21.7% from Sept. 21 low but down 7.2% on the year
    Oct 9, 2002 7286 New 2002 low – Dow down 37.8% from Jan 14, 2000 all time high.
Dec 31, 2002 8341 Dow down 16.8% for 2002. First three consecutive year loss since 1939-41
July 2, 2008 11215 Dow closes more than 20% below its Oct. 2007 high

Seems to me that, by Limbaugh logic, the guy he carried water for, George Bush, was trying to consolidate power by knocking stock prices down and creating very few jobs [3 million in eight years]

    So much for Limbaugh rhetoric…

  48. nigel says:

It’s kind of ironic considering the conservative mission to make all union members unemployed. They actively demanded that the car companies fold.

  50. tokin librul says:

Spenser’smom sez: You know, it’s been a long time since I live in No. Cal and had access to the good stuff.

The ‘good stuff” ain’t that good. At least the hydroponic stuff isn’t. Mebbe the stuff grown out in those Mendocino forests is; I haven’t sampled that for many a year. Smell? taste? Feh! I do it for the buzz…

  51. bluesunflower says:

I fail to see how Obama working to salvage the economy and create jobs leads to the conclusion his objective is unemployment. His plans are very much like Roosevelt’s during the Great Depression, and I approve of them.

sounds like a deflection from a $40 million salary that precipitated the layoff of hundreds of clear channel employees…

    wow.

  53. Game of Life says:

limpydic, African-Americans don’t want no nickle and dime reparations, you sweaty, stinkin, lying racist.

    kidneys do your job.

  54. Game of Life says:

    It’s 400 million, katy.

  55. katy says:

yea! what Hoodathunktick says @12… even better!

  56. Rodeskawler says:

Roosevelt regulated the banks immediately, whereas Obama tells us he will eventually get around to it. Are you holding your breath on this one?

The bankers still call the shots, so I don’t know what Republicans are whining about. Obama is doing essentailly what they would have done, not only when it comes to the greedy banker ceos, but also when it comes to things like letting criminal Republicans go free but continuing to pursue fraudulent prosections of former Alabama governors or allowing Abu Gharaib scapegoats to stay in jail for the crimes of the Bush regime.

Obama is continuing the crony, transnational trade scheme that Republicans love so much, that has caused unnecessary suffering in tens of muilluions of Americans. I don’t know what Republicans are pouting about. Obama is their best buddy.

  57. katy says:

    just got that, life.

Where do they get their talking points? What wingnut spun this one?

I don’t think they know what comes out of their mouths. They can’t be serious!!!!!

  59. weeba says:

This is the new talking point. Aim at the uninformed and frightened.

The Repubs are well aware that historically in recovering from a recession the unemployment numbers don’t begin turn around at as fast a rate as the economy bounces back.

This is just the set up to make that argument down the road.

“You see, we were right. The economy has recovered, so why is the unemployment rate still so high?”

This argument is targeted at uninformed voters, as most of the arguments made by the GOP are.

    It won’t work though.

This current and wonderful age of information will lead to death of the GOP.

  60. pimothy says:

THE ONLY ONE OBAMA WANTS UNEMPLOYED IS rush!

  61. rightwing-leftwing says:

Flush Limpdicks’ listeners are too lazy to verify FACTS. Also, it’s impossible to verify anything he spews because most of those idiots are driving in traffic. Easy targets in my view. If one looks back in history, unemployment is always high when a Rethuglican is in office.

Their talking point about taxes is so false it’s ridiculous.

  62. christopher wiwi says:

I just heard more of this rant from the bloviated pill popper that Obama wants forced reparations on all of this country……me thinks the de facto leader has fallen off the deep end with this one.

  63. weeza says:

Wish Obama would diminish your employment, you fat, drug addicted traitor.

  64. e_to_the_pOTATO BUG says:

Wow he is getting so offensive it makes my ears hurt. I wish they would force reparations, I would love to see the fat attack work one hard day of physical labor in his life. The rest of us who’s lineage arrived in america the last 100 years can set our feet+lemonades on limbaugh’s back. Oh wait he thinks its about money. Well they can take that too. He certainly seems to have enough to be confident.

How do you stop someone from igniting a nation with purely bullpoop? It scares me the people I hear repeating this stuff, but not everyone will stop for a friendly debate.

  65. Constant Weader says:

Since we thought police aren’t letting Rush say, “Barack the magic Negro” anymore, Rush has to think up new, more supposedly subtle ways to make his racist comments. Reparations??? The vast majority of Americans think of Barack Obama as the President. Rush is so twisted he just can’t get over thinking of Obama as the black-black-blackety-black President, & he has to bring it up as often as he can in as many ways as he can.

He is so opposed to the principles of equality that define this nation today that I’m beginning to think maybe Wanda Sykes was right — as a commenter to Dana Milbank’s column said today, Rush WAS planning on being the 20th hijacker — he just cancelled when he found out he’d have to pay for a second seat. (Is that over the line?)

Rush also says he just recieved a big contract and that there is not down turn in the ecomony. So there must not be any unemployment in Rush’s world either.

Rush’s objective is to be such an idiot that he appeals to the most primitive uneducated and uninformed amoung us.
