A new Fox News poll out today shows President Obama’s approval rating holding steady at 60 percent. While the poll contained similar questions regarding current political events, such as Obama’s Supreme Court justice nominee and the torture memos, one question asked: “Who do you think the White House will put in a muzzle first — Vice President Joe Biden or First Dog Bo?”":

Indeed, an accompanying Fox News article claimed that “Biden is known for his frequent groan-provoking gaffes. The poll hints at a possible solution for the White House.”
How insulting. But, then, what do you expect from Fixed News.
They must be getting really frustrated when even their polls show that President Obama is very popular and the Republicans are very unpopular. I wonder if they are skewing their polls to 21% Republicans and 36% Democrats or if they are polling equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:15 pmOh, those jokers at FOX News are at it again!
Muzzle Joe Biden? We need those quips. But they’re not quite the pure comedy GOLD of a Sarah Palin sound bite, baby!
May 14th, 2009 at 4:15 pmI vote Bill Krystal
May 14th, 2009 at 4:16 pmIf they had any REAL nerve, they would have put the third choice in to muzzle Obama’s daughters. Or wife.
That one will have to wait for El Rushbo, the Vulgar Pigboy. It’s coming, probably tomorrow or next week.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:16 pmIndeed, an accompanying Fox News article claimed that “Biden is known for his frequent groan-provoking gaffes.”
____________
Wow! What a scoop!
Next Fox will be telling us that whales are mammals and water is wet!
May 14th, 2009 at 4:17 pmA “fox noise poll”? That is like saying “a Dick Ch eney fact”.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:18 pmBilbo, Fixed News is very good parody writing.
Unfortunately, I’m stealing it…!
;-)
May 14th, 2009 at 4:18 pmI wonder if this is projection from the Right Wings who want their VP of old (Dick Cheney) to put a muzzle on….
May 14th, 2009 at 4:18 pmFaux snooze should ask the follow-up question:
Who will get muzzled first by Mikey Steele:
5-deferment Dickhead Cheney or Trannie Coulter?
After all, enquiring minds want to know.
snark
May 14th, 2009 at 4:19 pmI thought they meant Bo Biden. :-)
But check out Bush’s approval rating in the first year.
http://www.hist.umn.edu/~ruggles/Approval.htm
It wavered between 50-60% until 9/11 where it skyrocketed (inexplicably). But Bush’s first year was the one where all he did was play golf and go on vacation.
So maybe approval ratings in the first year don’t mean much.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:21 pmMuzzle Bill Kristol, pardon my spelling error.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:23 pmFOX is not allowed to ask questions. We need to shut them down in the name of Progress
May 14th, 2009 at 4:27 pm“Fox News poll question asks whom the White House will ‘muzzle first’ — Biden or Bo.”
Nothing new from Fox Clown Network. Still transmitted to us earthlings from Planet Wingnuttia on KRAP radio. Pass the popcorn please…
May 14th, 2009 at 4:28 pmbwaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
Republican’ts won the Fox “Who needs a muzzle on’em” poll!!!!!!
May 14th, 2009 at 4:31 pmWhat a little child that eye is…
May 14th, 2009 at 4:31 pmFox News poll question asks whom the White House will ‘muzzle first’ — Biden or Bo.
– - Heh. It’s a fair, if snarky question.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:32 pmAlejandro Says:

Actually I think they mean a lot when you have a President who came under assault by the opposing party before he even took office and hasn’t let up since. I find President Obama’s approval ratings quite astounding considering what he has had to deal with in his first 100 days. It’s much easier to get a relatively high approval rating when you aren’t doing anything or under any kind of assault. It’s totally different when you have a President who is attacked daily by the MSM and the opposing party.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:32 pmIs the “Don’t Know” answer the same as “What a @#$%ing Stupid Question” answer?
May 14th, 2009 at 4:35 pmpersonally,
May 14th, 2009 at 4:36 pmi’ll pitch in for a muzzle big enough to slap on tub-o-lard limbaugh. perhaps a ballgag from senator vitter’s house of perverted curiosities could provide one
Yeah, much better to have a VP who thinks he’s really the president.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:37 pmwhatever freakshow…
May 14th, 2009 at 4:40 pmStay classy Fox.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:42 pmAnd when it does you will lose your Wendy’s food order service cubicle
May 14th, 2009 at 4:42 pmOh, hardy har…seriously, right wingers have such a shit+y sense of humor.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:43 pmbrothabildo Says:
I love it, your country is going down in flames!
Good for you…I frankly don’t give a crap about your opinion.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:44 pmWow, talk about a skewed poll. I loved this question:
3. In the next congressional election in 2010, are you more likely to:
1. Vote for the Democrat to help Barack Obama pass his policies and programs
2. Vote for the Republican to provide a check on Obama’s power
3. (Too soon to say)
4. (Don’t know/Refused)
Do you ever remember a Fixed News poll asking whether people would vote for a Democrat to “check Bush’s power”?
Another ridiculous question was:
45. Do you think Oprah Winfrey would make a good Supreme Court Justice, or not?
Finally, I would like to see the stats on who they poll. Since this question ended up an answer much different than most other recent polls:
POLITICAL IDENTIFICATION: When you think about politics, do you think of yourself as a Democrat or a Republican?
Democrat 42% Republican 30%.
And, surprise, surprise, they polled 900 people of which 41% identified themselves as a democrat and 30% identified themselves as a Republican. That skewed their poll pretty badly since most other polls have Republicans at 18-21% of Americans.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:44 pmwags @19, I was actually thinking that the “don’t know” vote column was speaking to the type of gene pool FAUX Noise attracts. They actually have to have a catch all column for those idiots – lol!
Isn’t this just proof that these people think at the level of a 5th grader?
May 14th, 2009 at 4:44 pmHey Bildo, punch me up a Wendys fat and juicy triple beef with double bacon and triple cheese. And none of that rabbit food on it. A extra large chocolate moo juice shake and a extra big order of lard fries!
May 14th, 2009 at 4:45 pmThe ones really needing muzzling are the hateful/racist/homophobic/anti-American Repubs, like Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Coulter, Bachmann, Palin, Hannity, Beck, etc. But apparently Repubs aren’t bright enough to realize that. I’ll take the occasional gaffe from Biden any day over Repub hate, fear, bigotry, etc.
May 14th, 2009 at 4:46 pmHeh
May 14th, 2009 at 4:46 pmWhat?! Fake Fox News needs a muzzle! Lying media whoring station!
May 14th, 2009 at 5:06 pmAnother day, another blatant push-poll from Fox News.
I don’t see how Joe Biden is any more gaffe-prone than Dan Quayle. Or George W. Bush — whose “Bushisms” filled several books.
Yes, Joe has said a couple of things that have provoked laughter (or indignation, depending on what side you’re on). But Michael Steele, for instance, already has him beat on the “dumb things said” scoreboard and Steele’s accomplished that over a shorter span of time.
This push-poll is just the latest in a carefully choreographed whisper campaign against Biden — part of a larger agenda to discredit the Obama administration by any means possible.
And for those who don’t know how a whisper campaign works, it’s basically smearing in a vague enough way to sway most people into believing something is true or has merit, without knowing exactly how they came to believe that. But if enough people are primed in this manner, the next time Joe Biden says something that’s either a true gaffe or can be spun to look like one (no matter how often or seldom this occurs), people will think to themselves, “I heard Biden says a lot of dumb things — I guess it’s really true that he’s not very bright. God help us if this man ever became President!”
May 14th, 2009 at 5:07 pmWant to talk about a muzzle? Go to YouTube.com and watch some old Palin interviews. OMG what a gaffe bag she is!
May 14th, 2009 at 5:18 pmDisgusting. This is the vice president. Disgusting.
May 14th, 2009 at 5:19 pmVice President Biden should focus on what he does best….work with congress to pass Obama’s Agenda…
And leave the Public Pronouncements to President Obama and Press Sec. Gibbs.
And I agree with Missmolly about the orchestrated Smear Campaign. Obama is too popular and people LIKE him…so they are going after Biden.
A classic example was what they did to Al Gore when he ran in 2000.
pssst…Gore is Stiff
pssst….Gore says he invented the Internet
pssst…Gore says that “LOve Story” was about him
pssst…Gore thinks he knows it all
May 14th, 2009 at 5:25 pmThe White House should put a permanent muzzle on FIX NOISE.
May 14th, 2009 at 5:40 pmIf they make a muzzle for pigs, maybe someone could put one on Rush.

May 14th, 2009 at 6:39 pmbrothabilldenstein needs a muzzle too.
May 14th, 2009 at 7:33 pmbrotha is a fat teenager with acne struggling with its fundie parents and abusing cough syrup. Why it’s attracted to TP is one of the great mysteries, but it did show up during the Amanda Turkel dust-up and is probably full of Fox.
May 14th, 2009 at 7:33 pmbrothabilldenstein needs a muzzle too.
Flag ‘em. He’s spamming the other threads as well, with the same unhinged babble.
May 14th, 2009 at 8:03 pmFox’s standards of journalistic professionalism are pretty impressive. But they forgot the question about muzzling Cheney before he brings the rest of the GOP down with him. Not that anybody cares.
Constant Weader at http://www.RealityChex.com
May 14th, 2009 at 8:24 pmbarfly, Is there a way to get TP aware of this fool? Flagging doesn’t seem to work. They need to block IP addresses in my opinion.
May 14th, 2009 at 8:36 pmTP has cleaned it up before. Maybe more people contacting with requests to clean it up again? I’m really sorry about its (continuing) childhood, but I don’t think the prattlings of a disturbed teenager have a place here.
May 14th, 2009 at 8:49 pmI am liberal, very glad that Obama won the election, but I do think that this is a pretty funny question. Mainly because I think Biden needs a muzzle at times.
May 14th, 2009 at 8:58 pmWho were these supposed Democrats who were foolish enough to participate in a Fox News poll, I’d like to know? They must have either been Blue Dogs or people who are no longer willing to label themselves as Republicans and have recently switched parties. Personally, I wouldn’t trust Fox News as far as I could throw them and wouldn’t give anyone from Fox the time of day — never mind my opinion on a poll, and certainly not when they’re asking questions as asinine and blatantly partisan as this one.
