After the Wednesday edition of the O’Reilly Factor, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly complained on his daily “O’Reilly Factor Post Game Show” that, in his view, today’s technology means “we don’t have any privacy at all.” He warned his viewers, “Somewhere along in your life, somebody is going to come up and start snapping pictures of you. If you can, avoid that.” “Nothing good in this high-tech age comes out of anybody intruding on you in that way,” he added. Watch it:
O’Reilly’s concern for the privacy of his viewers is odd when viewed in light of the fact that he dispatches producers to “intrude” on the lives of private citizens on a regular basis. Indeed, in February of this year O’Reilly had his producer Jesse Watters ambush ThinkProgress Managing Editor Amanda Terkel while she was on vacation. In all, at least 40 other individuals were subjected to similar treatment by O’Reilly. Is he now prepared to admit that “nothing good” comes out of his ambush journalism?

If they are a chain, they probably can’t change the station. I was in a bar at a Hilton hotel. The only other person in the bar was the bartender. I asked him to change the station and he told me that he can’t. He said that Fox was a feed from corporate and there were no more stations. So, I asked him to turn it off. He did, but he kept an eye out for the manager so he could turn it back on before the manager saw he had the TV off. Apparently Fox pays these people to feed only Fox to their bars and restaurants.

First of all, johnson, you’re comparing apples to oranges. Do you know how many viewers the website has? Do you know how many hits that the O’Reilly Factor gets? Oh, that’s right; one’s a website and the other’s a television show. Exceptional comparative prowess you possess, J.
Second of all, every time you claim ratings, you fail to understand that a show’s popularity does not equate to the show’s degree of truthfulness or ethics. It just means that the Factor is able to draw more viewers through better marketing or presentation.
Start showing us that the O’Reilly Factor outdoes the competition in terms of acclaim and critical accomplishment. Show us that the O’Reilly Factor is the “Star Wars” of its genre and not the “Episode 1″ of pundit television.
