Just as a reminder, we’re still looking to hire for a reporter-blogger position. If you’re interested, make sure to follow these directions. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits and requires the candidate to work out of our Washington, DC offices.
Does it include moving expenses?
Not that you would hire me =)
May 18th, 2009 at 6:41 pmWould ya take a retired bum from the Software Engineering field? I’ll work for food and shelter too.
May 18th, 2009 at 6:42 pmGet paid to blog full-time.
– - Don’t tell my employer, but in a manner of speaking, I AM getting paid to blog.
Shhhh.
May 18th, 2009 at 6:47 pmBadmoodman, You’re fired! ;)
May 18th, 2009 at 6:53 pmIf I could write well, and if I had the degree, and the journalism experience, and the ability to pack up and move to DC, I’d apply. But I can’t so I won’t. Thanks anyway. :)
May 18th, 2009 at 7:02 pmIf I worked at Wendy’s like most of the regulars here, I would jump on this opportunity. Judging by most of the blogs written by the salaried bloggers here, I think Wendy’s was likely the career launching pad for this type of position.
May 18th, 2009 at 7:14 pmJohnM don’t knock Wendy’s jobs – working there builds character …..

Very true, but why can’t they ever remember to make my burger without mayo?
May 18th, 2009 at 7:22 pmJohnM,
WHAT? Those savages should be reported. Everyone knows a good burger only needs a spicy mustard. Maybe a good Dijon.
May 18th, 2009 at 7:46 pmPeople get paid to do this stuff?
I will send you my bill.

Whadda maroon.
May 18th, 2009 at 8:23 pmWhy dont you hire someone without a degree who has experience in dealing with everyday life? Ive followed politics for twenty years because i enjoy it,I also believe the rightwingnuts are wrong. You can do a backround check. I have been arrested for a DUI and possesion of a controlled substance in the tenth degree, wich amounts to nothing but experience. I do alot of reading and i can write a non biased column. Well, I am a liberal so maybe i will be a little biased towards the left.
May 18th, 2009 at 8:43 pmHave a wonderful night,
Scott
Wow. My college degree is in journalism but I got so disgusted with it (journalism, not my degree!) that I ended up going into a completely separate field… if a job like this opened eight years ago when I was coming out of school, who knows how things would have turned out? :oD
May 18th, 2009 at 8:58 pmI don’t think that’s mayo slick.
May 18th, 2009 at 9:18 pmMay I nominate someone from this blog? If so, I think MissHusseinMolly would be a perfect choice.
If my husband would be willing to relocate, I would do it in a New York (D.C?) second. Not that I am even remotely qualified….
May 18th, 2009 at 9:39 pmThanks, but I am still trying to get one of my comments recommended.
May 18th, 2009 at 9:41 pmTP should hire a freeper…you know, like one of those blow up punching dolls that you knock around for fun.
I nominate Proud.
May 18th, 2009 at 10:47 pmWe’d need to accelerate the stem cell research program so we could grow Proud a brain first ….
May 18th, 2009 at 11:13 pm.
Maybe Think Progress can hire chit-chat and Sesli Sohbet. This way this spammer can get paid to link to Turkish porn.
.
May 19th, 2009 at 1:22 amI 2ND Sesli Sohbet!
May 19th, 2009 at 1:47 am>requirements: bachelor degree

Thank you! I’m enormously flattered. And I’d apply in a heartbeat if I was even remotely qualified as a journalist and if I could afford to live in the DC area.
It would be fascinating work, and I will envy whoever gets this position.

Yeah, I’m with ya on being disgusted. I stopped caring about the world. Nothing’s going to change. I was #201 at Columbia’s School of Journalism, and they only take 200 applicants out of thousands. No one declined their spot that year so I didn’t get in from the waiting list. It was probably the biggest blessing in disguise, as 9/11 happened soon after. Journalists became sellouts if they wanted to survive in the mainstream.
But I vote for Miss Molly too! Molly, you should at least apply! Worst they could say is no.
May 19th, 2009 at 11:37 amI’d apply but I’m too controve…controversi….contravers… oh hell I say a lot of wacky things.
:\
May 19th, 2009 at 2:50 pmOnly if it’s a real progressive website. Being a shill for the blue team would hurt more than working for the reds. I expect Repugnican’ts to pander to their big money donors.
